Today, they had to print a retraction, stating the story "contained errors". Pennel's American lawyers presented evidence Pennel was in the USA at the time of the murder. That though he owned the property, he never lived there. And his security footage showed the property was constantly trespassed by locals on the night of the murder. They repeated he didn't know the woman. And the quote attached to his lawyer in the DR was false.

But I did want to state another critique about today's game. I've said multiple times I don't watch the NBA like I used to. Mainly because of the officiating. But the number 2 reason is these players are largely boring. NBA used to be about flash. Especially among the ball handlers. If you watch today's rosters, you are looking for skill, not entertainment. There maybe 5 players total who you turn on the TV to see.

Who today would you say reminds you of Magic? Pistol Pete? White Chocolate? Who reminds you of Kareem, Hakeem, Dr J, Barkley, Shaq, Tiny, 'nique or Zeke? There is no flair in the game anymore. Five minutes reading a box score gives me as much excitement as 2 hours watching the game. it's just not fun. Irregardless of whether the cigars were real or not, I don't get why the people in charge thinks it is any of their business whether the kids were puffing 3 packs a day or not. They can restrict it when the games are going on all they want. But away from the sport, why would they give a bleep?
