Curt Davis 1934

I would not have believed that I need to say this :- If you check the file you invited others to download from this site on 17/8/1918 you would find this image colorized. This is the just latest of numerous frivolous requests to duplicate work already done. Often the requests are accompanied by below par source images of requests to fabricate an existing image by a cap change when a more comprehensive research would reveal a source image in the team requested. This trend has now overwhelmed this thread so it sadly has lost any sense of authenticity. Buccos is spot on in terms of his assessment. |

Though he has apparently been colorized already, here's a non-watermarked image of Davis with the Cardinals.

Beany Jacobson 1904

Albert Leonard "Beany" Jacobson colorized with the Washington Senators from an image shared by UKBaseballfan
EDIT: I copied the photo from the main Gambo thread and sometimes when we are treated to a fantastic series of new photos I take down a team name wrong or a typo happens. I did not intend for this to be a fabrication of a White Sox photo. I have corrected the team name in the post. The really weird thing is that when I was colorizing the photo I must have been looking at the "Dressed to the Nines" Senators image as I saw the stripes that should be in the hat that are missing in the photo of Jacobson. If you really squint at the photo those stripes are there but the image is just too bright at the top for them to be anything more than a faint trace. It never turns out very well when I add those so I chose to leave them out. |
Beany Jacobson 1904
It is a nice photo of Jacobson , as I stated from his second year with the Senators. It's only shortcoming possibly being that the stripes that should be apparent on the road uniform cap are not. As far as I am aware Jacobson never played for the White Sox but I am ready to stand corrected.
For those who are sceptical about the assertion that the image of Jacobson is with the Senators, I attach a less fully cropped version of the source image originally from the Chicago Daily News collection. Apparently the point that was made about frivolous requests has only been amplified. When did Joe Nossek play for the Milwaukee Brewers in the Major Leagues? Why is the baseball community being bombarded with a priority for one person's sporting religion? Most of us have our own loyalties but we do not allow it to take preference over the viewpoint of others. We all agree that everyone has the right to pursue their own religion be it ecclesiastic or sporting, but none of us want the views of others to be shoved down our throats. |

Jim Tobin 1937

James Anthony "Abba Dabba" Tobin colorized with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The submitted image looks good at small size, sort of rough at closeup. I found a baseball card of Tobin's with the Pirates that I have modified as well.
