In PT play only Hooterville and Norwood qualified for the playoffs as division winners. The Haymakers will take on the winner of the WC game-either Texas of Peterborough. Hooterville had an identical 4-3 record vs each team in the regular season. Norwood will take on Danville and own home field in the best of five. Norwood only managed to win two of six vs. Danville in the regular season. Jefferson Valley had the WC seemingly wrapped up but lost 6 of its last seven including a 163rd game vs Peterborough to finish one game out.

Nobody will be relegated and promotion will be decided by playoff results.

Think I can beat your team's '64 Phillies impression with Port Ruppert's performance in gold. Didn't pay much attention to them this week with no standings to do, but in checking them this morning, they lost 10 in a row to fall into a tie, won their last game to gain a playoff, then lost the playoff. At least it was Krikkit that caught and past them.

While Cary and Kansas beat each other up, Highland took care of business in the final month, capping their season with a home sweep of Asylum, which included a pair of shutouts.

Overall even with the stumble down the stretch I am happy with the Rebels season. On the hand Coney Island will be relegated from Gold to Silver which is a bitter pill to swallow. Both teams are sitting at just over 100K PP but there is no quick fix that those points are going to solve.

On the other hand I am enjoying my non-OL team the most. Its my team composed of players who played for the Mets and Yankees between 69-79 (the cards are of course based on what's available). They are currently competitive in Silver and a borderline playoff team. If they had a better bullpen they could probably get over the hump and get to Gold. I keep hoping a diamond Gossage comes out. The gold Art Shamsky card is something else at the plate.

Gold league final standings:

Weston Pointe stepped up to the task in the stretch run and emerged as the OL Gold champs in a tight race.

Overall, Brigadoon nabbed the top seed in the NC with an impressive 100-62 season. And in a case of poor timing for a losing streak, Port Ruppert dropped 10 straight games in the final two weeks (including 5 losses to Krikkit), and ended up in a tie for the NC West division lead with Krikkit (who won 6 straight to help their own cause). In the tie-breaker, Krikkit won their 7th straight and sniped the division title.

With 4 promotion spots, the possibility of 2 OL promotions to Diamond is on the table if both Brigadoon and Krikkit can win their series.

Relegations to Silver: Coney Island, Ewa Beach, Annandale, K-Town, Terra Incognita (rough season for OL).

I have checked my friends list. I am going to be offline most of the rest of the day. I will take Bronze next week. After review, Hooterville will be promoted regardless of whether they win their series as they will be in the top six. Norwood will have to win its playoff series to gain promotion. The rest of the teams from this week will remain and be joined by Sierra Vista and the winner of the Otonokizaka-Ft. Huachuca wildcard game.

Good luck to all in the playoffs.

A questiion...

For those more savvy about the whole collection mission gambit. Does it make any sense to hold onto Special Edition cards if they're not on your playing roster or on a tourney team? Am I correct in assuming they are best sold off, since it seems they'll not be included in any future collections? Thanks.

short of the reward cards being added to their own mission (which is probably a longshot at best), I don't see any reason to hold them if you aren't going to play them..... I finished all the Live missions and sold off all the rewards that weren't in my theme parameters.... still have some in my collection (some that were in the 26 man roster for a bit but are now on the reserve roster; and a couple that are still playing)....

might as well get some points for those you won't use and turn that into a quality player you can buy from the AH

any OL play in Silver? I realize they were split 2 each between 2 different leagues, but if there was any games played, can still log those on the spreadsheet for career win/loss stats

edit: and good luck to any v21 playoff teams..... heading over to watch v20 Waffletown as they are in the Perfect tier playoffs for the 26th time in the last 27 seasons.... just picked up a perfect Lou Boudreau to bolster the offense/defense, so maybe they can nab their 3rd Perfect title

SILVER 254 Results:

The Bevo Mill Redbirds won the NC West Division crown and are headed to the playoffs. The Shangri-La Dragons had a 6 game winning streak the final week of the season but lost on the final day to fall 1 game short of the wild card game.

Good luck Redbirds!

Rookie 212 Season Results

Although no competition against any other Our League teams, the El-Dorado Aztecs are headed to the playoffs after winning the AC East Division with the second best record in the league.
The Aztecs have a 12 game winning streak.

Everyone massacred the poor Waco Legends (3-159).

Congratulations to Otonokizaka on a OL-I171 championship! The Muse overtook Ft. Huachuca to capture the title. The Muse and Buffalo Soldiers split their six head-to-head games. Though Vlora could be renamed either Otonokizaka West or Ft. Huachuca East, since both teams owned the White Stallions during the regular season, the Muse benefitted by playing more against Vlora, amassing a 15-4 record against the paltry ponies.

Currently, the Muse and Buffalo Soldiers are set to meet in the AC Wild card series. Sierra Vista will also make the playoffs, and all three teams should be promoted, while Daytona Beach looks to be the only team to be relegated.

Otonokizaka broke the season's head-to-head tie with Ft. Huachuca in the Wild Card game with a 7-6 victory.
