Season Pass Tournament Update

from Press Releases

There are currently six teams out, including three shockers--Grape, Orange, and Brooke's Head! Those three teams comprise the Final Four of last season's Season Pass Playoffs! Outside of the top finishers from 2301 being out, the bottom of each league, Quartz and Eden Meadows, as well as one Vim! League mid-finisher, Rayburn Point, are all out.

The last four undefeated teams in the tournament include one NWL team, the Victory Cave Crickets, as well as three VL teams: the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales, the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers, and the Cranberry Island Hermit Crabs. All four of those teams were in or near the playoffs in 2301.

Tomorrow, eight teams will battle in the Losers bracket to see who will still survive. The best team from 2301 to have a chance to come out of the Losers bracket is the Dark Bloodworms, who play in an NWL elimination game against the Wild Gatorclaws. All other remaining teams finished near the bottom of their leagues and divisions.

Looking at some of the most impressive games and performances so far of the tournament, the Hermit Crabs shut out Grand Hotel one game after the Atoms shut out the defending Season Pass champions, the Grape Painted Ghouls. In that game, Grand Hotel's Todd Copeland pitched a complete-game six-hitter, walking two and striking out six.

Echo Lake had the wildest inning/game in a Losers Bracket match when the Harbormen scored 12 runs in the top of the 9th inning to put away the Rayburn Patcheyes, 17-6. The Harbormen finished with 16 hits, including six extra-base hits, and walked eight times.

Speaking of wild games, there were two one-run games where each team scored double-digit runs. One of those Wild games was the Wild Gatorclaws knocking the Painted Ghouls out of the tournament with a 12-11, 12-inning win. The Gatorclaws came back from a 9-1 deficit, including scoring five runs in the 8th and a run in the 9th to tie the game, 9-9. In the 11th, each team traded a run before Wild outscored Grape 2-1 in the 12th.

The other high-scoring affair came when the National Park Gulpers upset the Orange Tourists, 11-10, thanks to a six-run rally in the 9th. The Gulpers' C Tony Becker had a day, coming up to bat with two outs in the top of the 9th and his team trailing 10-7. Becker went deep for the game-winning grand slam to help the Gulpers move on and send Orange to the Losers Bracket.

2302 CBO Nuka Cup Preseason Tournament

The sixth round is the bracket championships round. Teams play in a four-game series to see which teams will make it to the Semifinals of the 2302 Nuka Cup Tournament. For each team playing from the Winners Bracket, they get a 1-0 series advantage. That included all four hosts for the 2302 tournament, which only need to win two or more games to advance. For the teams coming from the Losers Bracket--Roxbury, Starlight, Fort Hagen, and Goodneighbor--they must win three or four games to advance. Final brackets will be at the end of this posting.

Round 6 Results

10 March
Starlight 2, Nordhagen Beach 1 (series tied 1-1)
Atom 11, Fort Hagen 2 (Atom leads 2-0)
Goodneighbor 3, University Point 2 (series tied 1-1)

Game of the Day: County Crossing 10, Roxbury 9 (CC leads 2-0)
In a day where three games came down to a run, only one included a walk-off. After allowing four runs to the Rad Sox in the top of the 9th to tie the game, 9-9, County Crossing struck back. In the bottom of the 9th, College Luckyman threw three straight balls to Biter Trout to lead off the inning. On the fourth pitch, Trout took the green light and sent everyone home for the day, giving the Bloodbugs a 10-9 walk-off victory. Trout finished 3 for 4 on the day with a home run, a walk, a run, and two RBI.

11 March
County Crossing 6, Roxbury 3 (CC clinches series 3-0)
Starlight 4, Nordhagen Beach 0 (Star leads 2-1)
Fort Hagen 7, Atom 5 (Atom leads 2-1)

Game of the Day: University Point 8, Goodneighbor 7, 10 inn. (UP leads 2-1)
Two days, two walk-offs. This time, though, it was a literal WALK off for the University Point Deathclaws to take the series lead. the Claws first had to get the game to extra innings. Trailing 7-2 entering the bottom of the 9th, UP got offensive against the Hancocks. Jukebox Luttrell and Kory Richardson hit back-to-back two-out home runs against Matt Lambda. After Barker Cocoa singled, Hancock's Tiny Greene came in to try to finish off the Claws. Instead, he allowed a double to Tomas Jones and then the game-tying, three-run blast by 3B Ryan Morris to tie the game up. In the bottom of the 10th, Goodneighbor RP George Cincinnatus walked the bases loaded with two outs and then walked in Cocoa to end the ballgame. Cocoa received game MVP honors, going 3 for 4 with a home run, two walks, two runs, and three RBI.

12 March
County Crossing 9, Roxbury 5
Nordhagen Beach 9, Starlight 8 (series tied 2-2)
Goodneighbor 4, University Point 2 (series tied 2-2)

Game of the Day: Atom 1, Fort Hagen 0 (Atom clinches series 3-1)
Pitching dominated as the Atom Cats joined County Crossing in the Semifinals. Fort Hagen's Brent Hooker pitched a great game, allowing just one earned run on five hits with six walks and six strikeouts in 8.0 innings. Unfortunately, that one run allowed made the difference. Thanks to two walks in the bottom of the 5th, putting runners at first and second with two outs, Hooker ended up being the loser when 2B Rabbit Forest singled in the lone run of the game. Deedee Martinson got the start for the Cats, pitching 5.1 innings of shutout ball with five hits, three walks, and three strikeouts. Jason Hadley, Jeff Rickashaw, and Danny Scorcher pitched the last 3.2 innings, allowing no hits and striking out four in that stretch.

13 March
County Crossing 4, Roxbury 1
Fort Hagen 2, Atom 1
University Point 4, Goodneighbor 0 (UP clinches series 3-2)

Game of the Day: Starlight 5, Nordhagen Beach 0 (Star clinches series 3-2)
We featured every other series, so why not this one? The Lady Killers shocked the tournament by being the only team to knock out a #1 seed with their second shutout of the Party Boys. This time it was a three-hitter from a combination of rookie SP Sam Molina (6.0 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 2 K), RP Steven Rockman (2.0 IP, 0 H, 2 K), and RP Front Porch Potter (1.0 IP, 0 H). LF Jesus Church went off on SP Matt Ranger and the Nordhagen Beach bullpen, hitting 3 for 4 with two home runs, two runs, and two RBI.

Feature Story: Rock Out with Your Sox Out: Roxbury Looking Rad in 2302

Despite losing all four games against County Crossing, there is a new look to the Roxbury Rad Sox. We here at BNN want to be the first to predict that the Sox look to be a team to fear in 2302. In fact, we are pretty sure division rivals, the Diamond City Swatters, already do.

Roxbury may not be lifting a Nuka Cup Tournament Champions banner in Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury this season, but they may be a darkhorse contender to take the Railroad League, especially if both the Swatters and Vault 81 Dwellers falter.

Looking at the roster, it appears that all that development time in the minors is finally starting to pay off for some guys. As far as homegrown talent--that is, players in the Roxbury system for three or more years--there are a few players to be excited about.

The top three starting pitchers--Nuke Laloosh, Eugene Gym, and Whokill Poole--all came up through the Sox's system, including Laloosh and Gym being taken 1st overall in the 2299 and 2298 drafts. The bullpen has more system talent in Roger Failure (2nd rd, 2296), Igor Kelp (2nd rd, 2298), and College Luckyman (2nd rd, 2299). For position players, the only true homegrown talent is 2296 3rd round pick LF Young Goodman. Still, he is beginning to look like a true leader on this team. If he can stay on the field, he can be a leader and help the Sox win at least four more games per year.

The lineup is improved overall with some players looking to make their moves to relevance in 2302. C Biddy Swenson appears to have locked up the job over C Josh Freeman. Second-year player 1B Duncan MacCready looks to be a star soon. 2B Chris Connexx, one of the original group from Bradberton, is a solid fielder and improving every season as a batter. 3B Deerlord Fugivmee is already the offensive leader at the top of the lineup. CF Edward Cox showed pop in his bat, but he needs to get back to how he hit in 2299 (.296/.348/.468) as opposed to 2301 (.239/.308/.409). The SS position is a battle between Purple Gupta and Newscap Waldorf. Waldorf appears to have won the job but did not hit well against County Crossing.

One position that still needs a player is RF. Andy Griffith appears to be the frontrunner to win the job, but he would be rated the 24th best starting RF in the CBO. Moses Church could also move into the position and OF Tevin MacPhail could always get the callup from Forest Grove of the BMU.

Season Pass Tournament Update

by Vikky Vail

14 March 2302

Six teams remain with the darlings in Nuka World appearing to be the Cranberry Island Hermit Crabs. Bradberton natives have been wild about the outlandish creatures of Mount Desert Island.

"You mean there are crabs who use buses as their shells?" one boy asked Cranberry Island baller Dean Gulper.

"That's right, kid!" Gulper quipped, a smile from his Big Pops-filled mouth.

Fans watching yesterday's comeback performance have been intrigued by the big bat of former CBOer Macaw Lee Calkins. Calkins was instrumental in the five-run 9th inning that drove the cocky Crabs ahead of the Nuka World League's Victory Cave Crickets.

"That's some fine chops on that young man," Victory manager Gogetem Thompson raved. "I think he broke in Bradberton Field just fine." The Cave Crickets were able to play a home game at their home stadium thanks to the way the brackets fell.

Victory fans also adopted a cheer (or maybe a jeer) for every time the stout Calkins approached the plate. They all put their hands to their cheeks and screamed out. It didn't distract Calkins, though, as he went 3 for 4 with a double, a home run, a walk, a run, and three RBI.

The Crickets are now moving on along in the Winners Bracket to face off with defending champions of the Vim! League, the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales. The Gwhales won another way against the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers; they outpitched them.

Far Harbor's Chris Waters was solid, going 9.0 innings, not allowing a run, giving up four hits, walking two batters, and striking out six of the Crawlers. The Fog Crawlers' Ryan Means was just as means as his old pops, delivering 109 mean as mudcrab pitches. He only gave up a run, gave up five hits, walked two, and struck out six in 7.1 innings. SS Famerin Udell of Far Harbor delivered the game-winning RBI triple in the 2nd inning to push Far Harbor on to at least a 3rd-place finish in this year's tournament.

Semifinals

15 March

County Crossing 7 at Atom 5

The County Crossing Bloodbugs came out swinging, taking a 5-0 1st-inning lead on their way to a 7-5 victory over the Atom Cats in Game One of the 2302 Nuka Cup Semifinals.

With the Cats' Copper Geffre on the mound, the Bugs wasted no time in taking the lead. Ajani Peacock led off with a single. With one out and Peacock on second after a steal, Babs Rooth went deep for a 2-0 lead. After Cy Thompson walked, Long Hall hit the second two-run homer of the inning, followed by Biter Trout's home run for the 5-0 advantage.

Rooth was the game's MVP, going 2 for 4 with a double, a home run, a walk, two runs, and three RBI.

Starlight 3 at University Point 2

The Starlight Lady Killers' Chris Schneier pitched 7.1 shutout innings, allowing just three hits with a walk and two strikeouts in earning the 3-2 victory over the University Point Deathclaws. Larry Undertaker pitched the 9th for the save despite giving up two runs in the inning.

The Claws managed only six hits on the day, all singles, and totaled 10 men on base. The Killers' Nick Maris was 2 for 4 with a home run, two runs, and an RBI.

16 March

Starlight 3 at University Point 8

The University Point Deathclaws did not wait until the 9th to score their first run, knocking in five in the bottom of the 2nd on their way to an 8-3 victory over the Starlight Lady Killers in Game Two of the Nuka Cup Semifinals.

Wilson Beachball also pitched a good game for the Claws, allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts in 6.1 innings. Two of Starlight's three runs were unearned. Beachball also contributed at the plate, hitting an RBI double and scoring a run.

Jukebox Luttrell and Kory Richardson led the Claws in hitting with two hits apiece. Richardson had a solo home run, scored, and drove in three.

County Crossing 3 at Atom 1

The County Crossing Bloodbugs clinched a berth in the 2302 Nuka Cup Tournament Finals with a 3-1 victory over the Atom Cats. Jared Zaccone pitched 6.1 innings, allowing one earned run on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Cy Thompson and Ajani Peacock both led the team with two hits and a home run. Only Zaccone's single was the other player to get a hit for the Bugs.

Scruffy Taguchi had the loss, allowing two earned runs on two hits, both homers, in 5.0 innings.

17 March

County Crossing 5 at Atom 10

The Atom Cats had too little too late in the series but picked up a nice 10-5 win over County Crossing on their way to the 2302 Nuka Cup Tournament Third Place Series.

Jake Doucette went off on the Bloodbugs, going 3 for 5 with a triple, a home run, two runs, and four RBI. Four Cats in all had 2+ hits, including starting pitcher Deedee Martinson who was 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI. Earthbound Bussey was 3 for 4 with a double, a home run, a walk, a run, and an RBI.

Bugs' hitters Babs Rooth, Ajani Peacock, and Cy Thompson all stayed hot. Rooth doubled and homered in the game. Thompson also homered. Pinch hitter OK Dustin, who replaced Rooth, also added two hits.

Starlight 9 at University Point 1

The Starlight Lady Killers earned a trip to the Nuka Cup Finals with a big win over the University Point Deathclaws, 9-1. The Claws scored three in the 1st inning and never looked back.

In the top of the 1st, Nick Maris led off with a single off the Claws' Phlip Wallace. Jesus Church walked and David Seaweed hit into a fielder's choice to put runners at first and third. Zeldolph Violet then went deep with a three-run bomb for the 3-0 advantage. Violet finished the game 3 for 5 with two doubles, a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Church added three hits, including a two-run home run.

Starlight's Ray Human earned the victory, allowing just one earned run on seven hits with a walk and two strikeouts in 5.0 innings. His one run allowed came when his former teammate, Tomas Jones, hit a second-inning bomb. Both players got their starts in Nordhagen Beach in the 2296 season.

Season Pass Tournament Update

by Evan Guy

17 March 2302

The final three days of the 2302 Season Pass Tournament are now complete, and we have a champion: the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales. The Ghoul Whales needed two games today to claim the victory, but their 6-4 victory over the crowd favorites, the Cranberry Island Hermit Crabs, helped them claim the championship. For the tournament, the Ghwales finished 5-1 with wins over Eden Meadows (4-2), Dark (4-3), Dalton Farm (1-0), Cranberry Island (7-6), and Cranberry Island again after losing the first game of Championship Day to the Crabs, 3-2.

For the tournament, the Ghwales' SP Brennan Collins (2-0) allowed four runs, one earned, on seven hits with three walks and 11 strikeouts in 13.2 innings. He was named the tournament MVP.

20 March

Starlight 6 at County Crossing 4

Starlight evened the series thanks to big hits by Nick Maris and Jesus Church. Maris went 4 for 4 with a triple, a walk, and a run scored. Church was 3 for 5 with a home run, a run, and two RBI.

Hope Scrapper got the biggest hit of the game for the Lady Killers', though, in the top of the 4th. With the bases loaded and the scored tied, 0-0, Scrapper hit a bases-clearing double for the 3-0 lead. Church's homer ended up knocking in the winning runs, to make the game 5-1 at the time on the way to a 6-1 lead heading into the bottom of the 5th.

Chris Schneier picked up the win by allowing three earned runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts in 6.0 innings. One of the hits he allowed was a two-run blast by Taygun Topaloglu in the bottom of the 6th. Otherwise, the Bugs had no other extra-base hits in the game.

21 March

Starlight 8 at County Crossing 5

Starlight blasted the Bugs for five 1st-inning runs on their way to an 8-5 victory and the Nuka Cup Preseason Tournament championship.

Nick Maris, named the series MVP, started the game with a walk off County Crossing starter Jared Zaccone. Jesus Church and David Seaweed then hit back-to-back singles to drive in Maris. Zeldolph Violet then singled to load the bases with no outs. After a short fly out, Hubris McBride hit one deeper to drive in the second run with two outs. After a wild pitch scored Seaweed, Ray McMillen hit an RBI double for a 4-0 lead. Hope Scrapper followed up with another RBI double for the 5-0 advantage in the top of the 1st.

Starlight then scored two more runs in the top of the 2nd to chase Zaccone and make the game an early blowout. Seaweed tripled in Church after a walk and then later scored on Glenn Higinbotham's single.

The Bloodbugs' best inning came in the bottom of the 6th when they scored three runs after trailing 7-1 entering the inning. Long Hall led off with a walk against Starlight starter Jonathan Newman. After Nar Salem doubled in Hall, the Killers replaced Newman with Front Porch Potter. He got the first two batters he faced out, but then he walked Nick Lowe and then gave up back-to-back RBI singles to Ajani Peacock and Taygun Topaloglu.

For the series, Maris was 6 for 11 with a double, triple, three walks, two runs, and a stolen base.

"We have a lot to build on here," Starlight manager Eric Bendure said. "We made the playoffs two of the last three years, but we had a quick exit. We're looking to do something like what Nordhagen Beach did last year: use this tournament to start our winning ways. I'm excited for this team. But we have more work to do."

In the midsection of the Easy Edie cutout, the Easy Town Field stadium will display a giant projector to display live replays from the televised games. It is the first of its kind in the CBO.

Easy Town co-owner and president, Deb Merchant, said she believes the Jumbo TRON will attract more fans to the stadium.

I must say I agree with the Boys' last-minute moves - you shouldn't keep someone on the roster if he's Lackadaisical - it sets such a bad example!

Lackadaisical Macnamara comes from an insouciant family! He is off to Nuka-World now to try his luck with the Quantum Nukalurks.

His older brother, Lethargic Macnamara, could never be bothered to even make it to a CBO tryout. However, his younger brother, Lukewarm Macnamara, is on the Wellfleet Settlement Beacons of the Cape Cod Youth League. The twins, Lax and Lazy Macnamara, are set to debut in the youth leagues in 2303.

Once again, great names all around. Don't think I've said this yet, but it really is all the more impressive that you're doing it by hand too.

Not gonna lie, I was floored when I found out how much he does on an individual basis.

I figured he just tweaked a couple of the stars and top prospects to give the story its heroes.

Hats off to Lee

StLee 05-21-2022 08:30 PM

Yes, I do change many of the names in the save. It's been a couple of days, but I have finished the GBRL and CCYL's names lists. I now need to work on the Bradbedrton Boys League and Maine Youth Leagues. I'll edit the PJPL as soon as their preseason begins.

One thing I noticed is that my youth leagues have no seniors. I believe I needed more youth leagues or teams. Apparently all people who were senior or juniors became draft eligible. I think that is OK, but I may need to scale back the draft to 5 rounds again.

Feature: Pam's Picks

Opening day is here, and it's time for the illustrious assaultron, P.A.M., has made her picks. Based on her selections shown below, PAM has picked the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys to defeat the Diamond City Swatters for the Sole Survivor Series.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1588040782

Based on her predictions, the following teams will be in the playoffs:

North Charles Association
1. Nordhagen Beach
2. Fort Hagen
3. County Crossing
4. Concord
5. Salem

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys are PAM's pick to repeat as CBO champions. The Party Boys are expected to take their league by 5 games and outdistance the predicted winner of the Institute League, the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, by 7 games.

At the bottom of the standings, the Sunshine Tidings Chemists look to continue their losing ways, though the bottom of the North Charles Association is not as far away from playoff contention as they could be.

For PAM's MVP and top pitcher picks, there is an expected close race for one and not so close for the other. PAM has picked Nordhagen Beach's Jonathan Angelou to take the top players award with the Shroud's Ben Pawlak and County Crossing's Babs Rooth being the heaviest contenders. At pitcher, the Boys' Beachboy Nut is expected to be the top pitcher by far. The Bugs' Whip Lashley and Fort Hagen's Derek Green are expected to be other top pitchers.

South Charles Association
1. Jamaica Point
2. Diamond City
3. University Point
4. Atom
5. Egret

PAM believes that the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets will make the jump to the top in the South Charles Association, slightly edging out University Point for the Minutemen League crown and #1 seed. Diamond City is expected to pull away from Egret for the Railroad League title.

At the bottom, the Oberland T-51s appear to be the CBO's lock for the #1 draft pick in the 2302 Rookie Draft. The T-51s are expected to lose 75 games, which will mean that they will average fewer than two wins per week.

The Deathclaws' Barker Cocoa is PAM's choice to run away with the Nuka-Hitter Award in the South Charles Association. Other batters expected to contend are FHE's Joe Rathmann and University Point's Tomas Jones.

PAM's pick for the Vim! Pitcher Award is the Swatters' Sheng Kawolski in a return to glory. Atom's Scruffy Taguchi and Roxbury's Nuke Laloosh are also expected to challenge for the award.

Nice to see Jamaica Plain as a projected division winner. Hoping for a big year from Ayag Mour

He has made steady improvements overall each season, batting .280 last season and making his first all-star game appearance. He's the third-rated catcher overall

Jamaica Plain is stacked at SP and throughout their lineup except 2B, 3B, and infield depth. They have a LOT of trade fodder at the minor leagues levels, so I can see them making some moves to improve that 2B/3B situation, which would drop one of their starters there to improve depth. Outside of Alec Bullets (33) at 2B, their lineup is young and looks built to last. I see that a few of their guys received some stat jumps, and their 3B Mike Van Noord could move into the green at some point, too. Mour could be batting 8th in the lineup later in the season, which would make him the best 8th hitter in the CBO.

As far as SP is concerned, they have six CBO-level pitchers, so that could be a position they move. Ryan Hartley and Will Rope are ready to pitch, and based on recent history of ace Chris Teddybear, they probably will. Teddybear is often listed as one of the top pitchers in the CBO based on talent, but he cannot stay on the field. In fact, if I remember right during the stimpack shortage season, I had to use JP's stimpacks more than once on him to keep him on the field. It has not gotten better for him, and he may be wrecked soon.

CBO's Top Prospects

Analyzing the Top 5 NOT on CBO Opening Day Rosters

1. 2B Diamond Ball, Clifton Vertibirds (GBRL, Warwick) - Drafted #1 overall in the 2301 Rookied Draft, Ball is expected to thrill the Mirelurks about what their future can look like. Expected to be a hitting force in the GBRL in 2302, Ball could find himself in the CBO on Opening Day 2303.

2. SS Cope Kearns, Lynn Fortune Finders (GBRL, Oberland) - The 2nd-overall pick in 2301, like Ball, Kearns is expected to be a beast on the field. While he is still working on making better contact, if he finds his stroke, he can hit for average and power, both of which the current T-51s squad could use. While they should not bring him up in 2302, the sky's the limit by 2303.

5. CF Stu Gains, Mass Pike Radroaches (GBRL, The Slog) - A 4th-round pick in the 2300 Rookie Draft, Gains has made huge gains in his talent. The Slog traded for him last July when the University Point Deathclaws were trying to secure their playoff squad. The Ghouls plan to start Gains at their GBRL facility, but we would not be surprised for him to spend most of his time with Everett of the BMU and maybe even be on the CBO squad at some point this season.

6. 3B Ross Merchantman, Sanctuary Hills Zetans (GBRL, Lexington) - The 5th-overall pick of the 2300 Rookie Draft, Merchantman did not have the best rookie season with the Zetans last season, batting only .157 in 76 games. However, he has a lot of talent and his power game can make opposing pitchers duck and cover.

7. SP Odd Thomas Koontz, Greentop Nursery Night People (BMU, Nordhagen Beach) - Drafted in the 2299 Rookie Draft in the 2nd round (36th overall), Koontz has used the last two seasons to work on an array of pitches. He split time with both of the Party Boys' minor league teams in 2301, but he did show marked improvement from 2300. If his 5-pitch load shows even more improvement, the Boys may need to find a spot for him in 2302 either as a starter or closer-in-training.

Questions About Sustainability of Youth League Talent Forces Change

And just like that, the CBO has changed its draft again. CBO commissioner Nate Howard announced today that the CBO was moving back to just a five-round draft for the 2302 season.

"It became obvious that we just do not have enough players yet," Howard said. "We had to wipe out a lot of talent in the youth leagues and travel teams in the area just to get the 240 players drafted for 2301. I think we hurt those teams a lot."

There are some travel players in the area that will be eligible and capable for the 2302 Rookie Draft to be held in November, but Howard indicated he wanted to nip the problem of pulling players out of the youth leagues too soon.

"We're going to find a lot of our talent having to leave the area to play baseball if we're pulling potential high picks out of the youth leagues just to get drafted in the 9th or 10th rounds. They're not ready yet, and they'll end up getting cut and going to the NWL or Vim! League."

The CBO will have to draft more juniors, or third-year youth players, in 2302 because there are few seniors in the youth leagues. Howard also feels there is not enough first-round talent for the 2302 draft.

"While we had some surges in talent in the last few drafts, we feel this year will be a dip. I suspect there will be a lot of haggling to get those 5 or 6 top guys in 2302."

Some youth league players that are expected to be draft-eligible and the "top prospects" for 2302 include SS Stormin Normin MacDonald (Jr, BYDL, Circle Jerks), 3B Rico Tub (Jr, BYDL, Lynn Pier Gamers), RF Magnum Peaeye (Jr, BYDL, Diamond City Newsboys), CF Beckett Quantum (Sr, Independent Teams, Commonwealth Fallouts), 1B Anyday Stevenski (Jr, BYDL, South Beach Waves), and 1B Nuke Lebowitz (Jr, BYDL, Wattz Ups).

Top Players - Boston Youth Development League

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1653229638

Top Hitter - 2B Aaron Squire, Spectacle Island Reapers - Taking the BYDL by storm as a freshman in 2301, Squire returns to show even more skills. Squire will probably work on his defense to become a SS in the CBO, though the time may not be yet. Still, in 41 games in 2301, he batted .412 with 13 home runs and 47 RBI. He will be a force and a possible future #1 overall pick.

Top Pitcher - SP Kyle Gunnels, Diamond City Newsboys - Gunnela comes into his sophomore season looking to build on his pitching in 2301. First, he will need to develop a third pitch to make him a top prospect. Right now, he relied heavily on his fastball and slider, which were good enough to propel him to a 10-3 record, but he needs to bring down the runs allowed from his 4.70 ERA.

Top Players - Cape Cod Youth League

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1653229638

Top Hitter - LF Giggy Larabee, Harwich Fishheads - Larabee shows a lot of pop in his bat, and he is sure to improve on his 14 home runs in 39 games in 2301. A few are questioning the junior's desire to be great, but there is no doubt that he is talented with a lot of potential to hit well.

Top Pitcher - SP Nate Vandermeulen, Chatham Lighthouse - The junior pitcher returns after an injury sidelined him most of the 2301 season. Still, in just three games pitched, he showed the ability to mow down batters, collecting a 1-0 record and 2.55 ERA. In 17.2 innings pitched, he struck out 16 and walked five.

Top Players - Providence Junior Pro League

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1653229638

Top Hitter - 1B Lock Ness, West Seekonk Quahog - The Quahog junior, Ness did not thrive in 2301 but scouts are expecting him to make a jump up in his bid to be a draft pick in 2302 or 2303. A patient hitter, Ness expects his home run numbers to make a big jump. In just 33 games in 2301, he hit five home runs, but he is now the star for West Seekonk.

Top Pitcher - SP Ogre Olmstead, Freeplat Wicked Goods - At the youth level, Olmstead can dominate thanks to a 98-MPH fastball that he blows by opposing batters. He is not considered a top draft prospect due to him not developing more pitches, but when his fastball is on, he is hard to hit. He will probably be drafted to be a closer or relief pitcher in the CBO.
