Diamond update:
no OL crown this season with just three teams, and minimal OL games with each in a different division.... Norwood: 5-2 Laramie: 5-5 (three games (wins?) remaining against Waffletown) Waffletown: 0-3 Waffletown is surprisingly *not* the worst team in the league (just second worst ), and will be heading back to Gold next season.... Laramie is just a half game back of a wild card spot heading into the final month, and Norwood is only 4 games back (and to show what a nuts league it is, Norwood is also only 2 games ahead of the relegation zone) |
It all comes down to this...

One game remains in the B260 OL fight, with Hooterville and Ring Road facing off in the season's last game - which will also be today's first game.
The Rams and Haymakers have accounted for most of the OL action, splitting 18 games, and leaving the Rams ½ game in front. However, the Haymakers can land the knockout punch if they can top the Rams on the road. Hooterville will send 11-5 Vida Blue to the mound while Ring Road will counter with 12-8 Jack Powell. Blue won his last two decisions against the Rams, while Powell dropped his last two. This will be the first time this season the two hurlers have faced one another. In the larger PT world, this game is also important to Hooterville's chances of making the playoffs. They retain a slim ½ game lead in the wild card chase. Barring a catastrophic collapse, Ring Road will roll into the playoffs as AC Central champs. Meanwhile, while Transylvania and K-Town are currently safe from relegation, they are also safe from the playoffs. |

Vlora has used a revamped, non-SE roster to gallop to the head of the OL I210 standings. By my calculations, they have clinched the title, but we'll wait for the final standings to be tabulated to be sure. OL looks to be well-represented in the playoffs, with the White Stallions, Ft. Huachuca, Otonokizaka, Cochise County, and Sierra Vista all leading their divisions. Asheboro and Daytona are both in the chase for a wild card berth. Iron Maiden is close to relegation, but no OL team is actually slated for relegation at this point. |
Haymakers capture OL B260 title; look to overtake Rams for non-OL crown
Quote:
The Rams are currently in a poor stretch of play which has seen their once massive lead in the AC Central shrink to only 6.5 games over second-place Hooterville. Both teams are on pace to make the playoffs. Hooterville boasts the AC's best offense, with Ring Road right behind. |
K-Town Special No Longer
The Rock Piles have added their name to the list of teams who have put the SE cards on the auction pile. Eliminated from playoff contention and relatively safe from relegation, K-Town has begun the process of SE elimination. While there are pieces of a decent roster in place, next season will definitely be a rebuilding year.

The home stretch was little more than a training breeze for Highland, as they claimed the gold crown.
In PT play, four OL teams grabbed a spot, so an OL world series is possible. Bevo Mill and Port Ruppert will be going back to silver. |

Playoffs so far

Took a look at my universe tab and as far as I can determine (I'm about 80% confident in my accuracy), the following appears to be the state of OL in 2050 and going forward:
Both the Chicago Clubbers and Cat Town Tabby Cats will going up to Iron and will compete for crowns for the first time. Please make sure to include them if you're in iron. Five iron teams will be going up, so it's important to grab the two stone promotions to make iron viable. Speaking of iron, we will have an all OL World Series with Vlora playing the winner of the Cochise County-Sierra Vista series. Vlora, Cochise County, Sierra Vista, Otonokizaka, and Ft. Huachuca will all be going up to bronze. In bronze, only Ring Road is still alive in the playoffs and is the only team to be promoted. No relegations. In diamond, Waffletown will be headed back to gold, with the other teams remaining. No OL teams are left in the playoffs. In perfect, Hidden Valley will be going back to diamond, bruised, but unbowed, so there should be a crown chase in diamond next week. In gold, Shinbone and Casper will be going to diamond. In silver, Ewa Beach, Asylum, Brooklyn, and El Dorado will be going to gold. See attached for playoffs for silver and gold. I'll check in a couple of hours, hopefully with a lot of hardware. |
