I can see a few stars of the beginning years beginning a decline. One example is Bryan Assman of Goodneighbor. He was the premier superstar for pretty much the first four years, but now he has dropped off. He is still OK, but his ratings dropped from 80 to 47 in just two years. His scouting numbers took a huge hit for 2302. Now, he might bounce back, but then again, he may be delegated to the minors or traded soon. |

2 June 2302 ---------------------------------------------------------- https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1610115119 Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL, NWLB, and APYL Leagues by Evan Guy Laws of Average Two teams--Victory Cave Crickets (23-13) and Orange Tourists (22-14)--sit atop the NWL standings more than halfway into the 2302 season. The other 6? At best, they are .500 on the season. The two teams at .500--Quantum Nukalurks and Quartz Star Force--appear to be the only teams that could challenge for a playoff spot. Let's take a look at those teams. The Nukalurks were NWL champions just two seasons ago. This season, they are near the bottom in hitting while near the top in pitching, meaning they are in a lot of low-scoring games. They are 7th in runs scored with 171 and 1st in runs allowed with 163. Only two regulars are hitting above .300: 3B T.J. McMath (.339/2/20) and LF Dian Subandrio (.333/2/8). A couple of recent callups are also hitting well, but they do not have enough games to qualify for any awards: 1B Coast Vieira (.357/1/3) and 2B Andy Longface (.405/1/4). Pitching has been their best bet with the 2nd best Starters ERA. All four current starters have good numbers but only one has the wins to show for it. They are: Roger Carlson (3-3, 3.21), David Strickland (4-5, 3.29), Tanner Kern (6-1, 3.61), and Loweland Waterdrop (0-1, 1.20, 8 SV). Waterdrop recently switched with Owen X (4-1, 3.83, 1 SV) for the starter and closer roles. The Star Force were champions three years ago, in the NWL's inaugural season. Like Quantum, Quartz is pitching well but not hitting well, currently 6th in the NWL in runs scored with 174 and 2nd in runs against with 165. Unfortunately for the Star Force, their hitting is not likely to get them anywhere, probably leading them to staying below the three other teams mentioned in this article. The player with their highest batting average, 3B Marmalot Hooch (.296/4/14) was recently sent to the APL's Galactic Zone G-Force. That leaves 1B Corey Ballard (.294/2/12) as the team's leading hitter. The only player with star power, though, is SS Travis Phillips (.284/9/24). 2B Tony Sanchez (.366/5/16) has come on strong, but he has not yet reached the required number of at bats. Despite having the top Starters ERA (3.42) in the NWL, the numbers do not look as amazing for the top two pitchers. SP Bubble Andrews (2-2, 4.18) and SP Tyrese Dyers (3-4, 5.06) are considered the 1-2 pitchers. The 3-4 pitchers are SP Chris Yao (4-1, 3.16) and SP Travis Sisler (3-2, 1.66). For either of these teams to take on Victory or Orange in the second half of the season, the key is for their pitching to remain strong and to see their hitting improve. I have my doubts, though, and I expect the 2302 Nuka Series to come down to the Cave Crickets and Tourists. In other news, this week's player of the week was Dark's LF Crops Gerdenheimer. Gerdenheimer was 9 for 25 with 5 home runs and 15 RBI. On the season, he is batting .236 with 15 homers, 39 RBI, and 21 runs scored. Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1659451626 APL and BBL In the Amusement Park League, the Nuka Bottling Plant Pack (Quantum) and the Grandchester Flying Ants (Cherry) are atop the standings, both at 22-14. At the bottom, the Nuka Town Operators (Orange) are currently on a 12-game losing streak, dropping them to 12-24 and 10 games back of both the Pack and Flying Ants. CF Dwight Workman of the Kiddie Kingdom Cappies (Grape) was this week's top player. He hit .421, punched four balls over the fence, scored eight times, and had six runs batted in. In the Bradberton Boys League, the Fizztop Mountain Conquerors only remain atop the league at 18-12. They are up by two games over three teams: South Bradberton Tycoons, Starport Nuka Hubologists, and Wixon Shovels. On a seven-game winning streak, the Ol'Sugartop Buckaroos are also in the mix at 15-15. The best player this week was CF Ody Mandrell of the Buckaroos. He had nine hits on the week for a .391 average, hit four home runs, and drove in nine runs. Vim! View Veracious, Vivacious, Vainglorious Vision of the Vim! Leagues by Vikky Vail Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1659451626 Analysis Rayburn Point (27-19) is once again atop the Fog Division while the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers (32-14) repeat atop yet the Harbor Division. The Patcheyes won their first three of four games in the series with Brooke's Head Lighthouse (22-24) and then lost the next two games at Echo Lake (24-22), who are now three games back of the Patcheyes. Only Eden Meadows (17-29) look to be out of contention for the Fog Division as we enter the All-Star Break. The Fog Crawlers went 5-1 on the week, winning five straight. They started the week with a loss to Grand Hotel (21-25) before taking the next three over the Atoms and then the first two games over Far Harbor (18-28). Dalton Farm still leads second-place Acadia (30-16) by two games. Player of the Week RF Alex Hopp, Acadia, 9/22 (.409), 5 HR, 14 RBI MDIL Report The Southwest Harbor Rippers (Echo Lake) of the Small Bertha Division regained sole possession of first place after the Longfellow Pips (Cranberry Island) had a bad week in the Mount Desert Island League. Longfellow is now in a three-way tie for second place with the Cliff's Edge Actors (Rayburn Point) and the Nucleus Radchickens (Eden Meadows) at 27-24. In the Old Longfellow Division, the Huntress Island Ug-Qualtoths (Dalton Farm) are still atop at 31-20 after a 3-3 week. They now hold a five-game lead over the Eagle's Cove Harpooners (Acadia). 1B Chris Eaton of the Southwest Harbor Rippers (Echo Lake) was the Player of the Week. He was 10 for 18 (.556) with four home runs and 12 RBI. MYL Report In the Mount Desert Island Four, the Beaver Creek Bowlers (15-13) maintain a two-game lead over last place Cliff's Edge (13-15). Both the National Park Rangers and Far Harbor Dockdwellers are one game behind. In the MDIF, SP Heri Earz, Cliff's Edge, was the Player of the Week. He was 2-0 in two starts giving up no earned runs in 14.1 innings pitched. He totaled two walks and seven strikeouts on the week, while allowing just three hits. The Pleasant Cove Raiders (18-10) hold a three-game lead in the Great Diamond Island League. Pleasant Cove had been on a nine-game winning streak since the All-Star break before dropping yesterday's game to Diamond Cove (15-13), now in 2nd place. At the time of the All-Star break, the Fort Knights were in first place at 10-8 but have been only 5-5 since. In the GDIL, Diamond Cove's 2B Harter Kalonia was the top player. He was 11 for 29 (.379) with four home runs, seven RBI, and eight runs scored. |

If I had all the time in the world, I would write stories about the OOTP-initiated talent drops and spikes. There MUST be a story! Unfortunately, I have less time than all of it in the world.
Well, I even do not report most of the Fallout-based events these days. I still have and use my file. Just most of them do not make it to the reports. Sometimes, when I remember, I will report it. For example, Starlight's RP John Walden was severely injured by a mutant hound this week. Damn near lost his leg. He's out for the season with hopes for a return post-surgery in 2303. Roxbury's Whokill Poole had a run-in last week with a feral mongrel, but he was only injured for a few days. |

Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1659537806 Team Power Rankings Weekly Team Power Rankings: Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1659537806 Analysis The CBO season has hit 50, and what can we say but that the season is as exciting as ever. There are some races happening around the league, but most of the Top 5 are entrenched and probable to remain in at least the Top 10 for the final 58 games. Here are the Top 5 and how they performed this week. #1 Fort Hagen - They started out with a shaky early week, losing both games at home to Nordhagen Beach (#2). However, the weekend was all theirs, as the Shroud pounded Concord (#17) into submission with the sweep. Fort Hagen now has a seven-game lead in the Institute League over three teams and a one-game lead for supremacy over the Party Boys for the CBO's top record. #2 Nordhagen Beach - The Boys were perfect this week and now they are on a six-game winning streak. In addition to their wins over the Shroud, Nordhagen Bech also won all three games at Salem (#21). Even though they have not been hot before the solid week, the Party Boys still maintain an eight-game lead over two of their Brotherhood League rivals. Not only that, but the Boys from the Beach have now swept Fort Hagen in both series they have played in 2302. #3 Diamond City - Every time Roxbury (#6) tries to take over the Railroad League, the Swatters swat them down. This week, Diamond City used a 4-1 week to maintain their one-game lead in the RL. The Swatters swept Quincy (#16) and then won two of three at Vault 81 (#11) to do it. #4 Atom - Dropping down this week thanks to a 2-3 week, the Cats still hold on to a slim lead over Jamaica Plain (#5) in the Minutemen League. Atom split with the Dwellers and then lost two of three at the Red Rockets to close out their week. Jamaica Plain now trails by one game for both the ML lead and top record in the South Charles Association. #5 Jamaica Plain - As mentioned, the Rockets gained ground on the Atom Cats. Jamaica Plain went 3-2 on the week, to move from a 2-game deficit to just a 1-game deficit. In addition to the win over the Cats, the Rockets also split with Oberland (#23). Announcement: 2303 Moving to 120 With multiple public transportation sites moving into early testing phases, the CBO and Commissioner Nate Howard have announced that the CBO schedule will expand for the second time. This time, each team will start the season on a home or road stand with other teams in their league with teams from the other association for a one-game regular season battle against each team in the opposite association. How will it work? At the beginning of the season, teams from the Brotherhood League will either host or travel to teams from the Minutemen League or Railroad League one week. The next week, they will do the opposite, either hosting or traveling to teams from the Minutemen League or Railroad League. The Institute League will do the same as the Brotherhood League. For an example, the Weeks 1 and 2 schedule could look like this: Week 1: BL at ML, IL at RL Week 2: RL at BL, ML at IL Since all 12 teams from the North Charles Association will play all 12 teams from the South Charles Association, the schedule will move from the current number of 108 to 120 games. That is twice the number of regular season games that were played in 2296 and 2297! We cannot wait to see what it will be like for new matchups in games that count! Minor League Report BMU Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1659537969 Players of the Week CA: 1B Trevor Steelbrother, CIT Ruins (Fort Hagen), 8/14 (.571), 2 HR, 12 RBI MA: RF Tyler Braggmann, Bunker Hill (Quincy), 9/14 (.643), HR, 4 RBI GBRL Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1659537969 Players of the Week NL: RF Baktu DaWell, Rocky Narrows (Sunshine Tidings), 4/5 (.800), 2 HR, 7 RBI, 10 R SL: 2B Stewspoon Helmetman, South Boston (Concord), 7/12 (.583), 2 HR, 6 RBI |
Speaking of things that bring controversy... I'm surprised we haven't had any of the classic debate over season length too. Though granted yours has a narrative structure to it, as seen here in this update, so the changing numbers and oddball amounts have always had a certain charm. Wish I was better at the schedule creator program.

This was not spurred by anything, just a random 5 for 5 story I saw. Then I looked more closely, and it dawned on me. This dude was 5 for 5 with FIVE(!!!) home runs!
I had no plan for Pipewrench Mathis to be anything special, but I think that is worth a trip to a shortlist and a potentials boost. |

Two teams look to be locks for the playoffs, many other teams are battling for the scraps after those two, and three are virtually eliminated. Let's look at our Top 5 and take a look at the midseason playoff picture. #1 Nordhagen Beach - The defending champions have not been as dominant as their best-ever season indicated. However, the 2302 version is now atop the CBO, tied with #2 Fort Hagen for the best record. The Boys went 4-1 on the week, losing their first game of the week to Abernathy (#23) before winning their next four, splitting with the Adamantium and sweeping The Slog (#19). Nordhagen Beach has now won 10 of 11 in June. #2 Fort Hagen - They may not have remained in the #1 overall seed, but the Silver Shroud are still winning weeks. They have had a positive week in five straight weeks, going 3-2 this week. Fort Hagen split at County Crossing (#14) and then won two of three at Starlight (#7). #3 Diamond City - The Swatters remained in the third spot, thanks to their impressive midweek performance, winning both games at Jamaica Plain (#4) and ten winning only one of three at Egret (#19). #4 Jamaica Plain - The Rockets continued their climb in the Minutemen League by overcoming their sweep vs the Swatters with a sweep at University Point (#8). With Atom's (#9) getting swept at the hands of Quincy (#16), the Red Rockets are in 1st place and tied with the Swatters for the SCA's best record. #5 Roxbury - With a refusal to fade away, the Rad Sox enter the Top 5 as the sole 2nd place team. Roxbury had another solid, consistent week, splitting with the Cats before winning two of three over Vault 81 (#11). The Midseason Playoff Picture We have tiered our playoff expectations based on what we have observed this season. These opinions are our own and do not necessarily follow the BNN statistical outputs. 16 June 2302 ---------------------------------------------------------- https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1610115119 Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL, NWLB, and APYL Leagues by Evan Guy Quantum Leap With the hottest June in the NWL, the Quantum Nukalurks are now knocking on Victory's door for the top spot in the NWL standings. Quantum is two back of the Cave Crickets and tied for second place with the Orange Tourists at 28-20 with 36 to play. Quantum is 10-3 in June with one of those losses coming on the first day of the month. This week, the Nukalurks went 5-1, winning the first two at Dark before dropping the third and then sweeping the Cherry Ghoulrillas over the weekend. Part of the Lurks' success has been their outstanding starting pitching. Quantum is the top team in runs allowed in the NWL (190) and have the best Starters ERA (3.25). Their highest current starting ERA is 3.05, held by third starter Tanner Kern (9-1). Roger Carlson (4-4, 2.90), David Strickland (5-5, 2.99), and Loweland Waterdrop (3-1, 1.45) all have sub-3.00 ERAs, leading to Quantum being a tough team to score against. Current closer Owen X (4-1, 4 SV, 3.80) has started five games, too, swapping roles midseason with Waterdrop who has eight saves. Offensively, the Nukalurks do not stand out, but they are not bad. They are currently 4th in runs scored (252), so they can score runs. They are led offensively by potential MVP RF Eric Streetwalker (.289/9/46). Other contributors include LF Dian Subandrio (.343/5/17), 2B Andy Longface (.357/2/13), and 3B T.J. McMath (.333/3/31). While he only has 13 starts on the season, leadoff hitter 1B Coast Vieira has been helping ramp up the offense, hitting .450 with four home runs, 14 RBI, 17 runs scored, and five stolen bases. Speaking of Vieira, he was named this week's Player of the Week. In 24 at bats, he had 13 hits (.542 average) with three home runs, eight RBI, and eight runs scored. Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1660951626 APL and BBL In the Amusement Park League, the Nuka Bottling Plant Pack (Quantum) remain atop the league. The Pack are now 29-19 and lead by two games. The Grandchester Flying Ants (Cherry) are in second place at 27-21 but are 4-6 in their last 10. RF Alex Rousseaux of the Bradberton Disciples (Victory) was the top player this week. He was 7 of 14 (.500) with three home runs, eight RBI, and four runs scored. The Bradberton Boys League completed their regular season with the Fizztop Mountain Conquerors winning the league by two games over the South Bradberton Tycoons. The Mad Mulligan Travelers and the Starport Nuka Hubologists tied for third place at five games back. Fizztop Mountain and South Bradberton are now facing off in the Bradberton Boys Series for the right to win the second championship of the Bradberton-area youth league. The Safari Adventure Gazelles (now known as the Angry Anaconda Godmodes) won last season. The Conquerors and Tycoons play Game 2 today of the three-game series. Fizztop Mountain won Game 1 4-3. Fizztop Mountain had to overcome a strong effort from South Bradberton catcher Iestyn Reid, who was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. With a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series, the Conquerors will have two chances to close out the Tycoons. Noah Splashdown was the walk-off hero for Fizztop Mountain. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Conquerors third baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home. "We made a couple of mistakes," said South Bradberton skipper Smokey Ueberroth, "and it cost us." https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1660951626 Vim! View Veracious, Vivacious, Vainglorious Vision of the Vim! Leagues by Vikky Vail Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1660951626 Analysis For the first time, we are not naming Rayburn Point (30-25) as the leaders in the Fog Division. Instead, the Echo Lake Harbormen (31-24) have claimed that spot this week. The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers (37-18) repeat atop the Harbor Division. The Harbormen have now won five straight games and 8 of 10. This week, they lost their Monday game in Game 2 of a Game 4 series but won the rest. They also won the first three games at National Park. The Fog Crawlers had a bad week but are still the top team in the Vim! League. Although they one the first game at National Park on Sunday, this past week, the Crawlers lost the next three to the Gulpers. They then won 2 of 3 at Grand Hotel for a 2-4 week. Player of the Week RF Sam Edgington, Grand Hotel Atoms, 9/15 (.600), 4 HR, 10 RBI, 6 R MDIL Report The Southwest Harbor Rippers (Echo Lake) of the Small Bertha Division have a three-game lead over both the Cliff's Edge Actors and Nucleus Radchickens with a magic number of 14 with 16 games remaining. In the Old Longfellow Division, the Huntress Island Ug-Qualtoths (Dalton Farm) are still atop at 37-27. Like the Rippers, they have a three-game lead over the Eagle's Cove Harpooners and a magic number of 14. 3B David Yellowsky of the Nucleus Radchickens (Eden Meadows) was the Player of the Week. He was 11 for 24 (.458) with two home runs, three runs scored, and five RBI. MYL Report The Maine Youth Leagues season has completed and the playoffs are in gear. In the Mount Desert Island Four, the Cliff's Edge Wolves took the league by a game over the Beaver Creek Bowlers. In the Great Diamond Island League, the Pleasant Cove Raiders had a three-game advantage over the Diamond Cove Fort Knights. Both the Wolves and Raiders will face off for the right to win the Maine Youth Series. Last season, the Far Harbor Dockdwellers won the series in three games over the Echo Point Glowers. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1660951631 |
So I know we discussed this "recently", but things are moving slow so I've forgotten (not your fault, I know you're busy), but damn, Oberland is terrible. I think knowing you've got plans to shake things up I'm getting some semi-real anxiety for these poorly performing teams, and I'm actually attached to some of them, haha. This must be what it feels like to be an A's fan. That said, I'd rather something happen to Oberland than Abernathy so I'm rooting for them to stay below that team ;)
