Bogan Katimazov signed a minor league contract.

Jim Gates of Saint-Hyachinthe was named Player of the Week for his AA league.

Dave Clark of Stratford did the same for his A league.

For the Majors it was Ruben Sierra, White Sox & Robby Thompson, Braves

The Blue Jays have fallen to #20 on the Weekly Power Rankings.

September 4th, 1989

It wasn't exactly the return to the Majors that Jim Kane wanted, but it was still a Win as the Jays beat the White Sox, 8-7.

Mike Marshall's big home run was the difference maker. Francisco Mendoza also hit one out for Toronto.

Bob Allen left the game with a bruised finger but it was nothing serious.

Orel Hershiser flashed back to the pitcher the Jays thought they were getting as he threw a four hit shutout and Toronto beat the White Sox, 7-0.
