Ring Road is still dominating the non-OL competition, but couldn't handle the fierce OL I282 crowd, including a sweep at the hands of the Chicago Clubbers. Ft. Huachuca and Cat Town both overtook the Rams, with Shangri-La right behind.
(While I was typing this, Ft. Huachuca beat the Rams again in the first of today's games) |

The Southpaws biggest obstacle in wining the title would, at this point, themselves, should they suffer a serious collapse. Even a middling pace during the last month should see them through.

Norwood Grabs the Lead in OL S252

The Red Menace head into the stretch run with a small lead, but Jefferson
Valley, Asylum, and El Dorado are all threatening to make a passing move. The Rebels can only hope the others slip because they have completed their OL schedule, while Norwood has three to play and the Keepers nine. The Aztecs may have the easiest task, since they have four home games left, all against cellar dwelling Terra Incognita. |
Ring Road Clinches in Iron

Ring Road, last seen struggling a bit, turned it around and clinched the OL I282 title. The schedule makers compressed the OL season somewhat, with Ring Road and Ft. Huachuca already completing their season. None of the other teams have enough OL games left to catch the Rams.
Several OL teams look to be representing OL in the playoffs, including the Rams. Their magic number is 6 heading into the final day of play. No teams will be relegated at this point. |
Transylvania on the Edge of Bronze Title
3 Attachment(s)
Transylvania has the OL B321 title all but locked up heading into the final day of play. The Impalers have used timely hitting and a league-leading pitching staff to dominate both OL and non-OL competition. Vlora has the only chance of overtaking the Impalers and it is a slim one. The White Stallions would need to sweep Cochise County in their 4-game series.
Otonokizaka and Vlora both need to play well to avoid relegation, while Transylvania and K-Town can make the playoffs. |

The Wrap Up

Until I can come up with new ideas, or someone can suggest one, I'm gonna use old ballparks, starting with a pretty mid-40's Fenway Park. Congrats to the winners. I'll check in later today with playoff successes (hopefully).

The Waffletown Syrups are mulling over a potential name change for next season to.... the Waffletown Cheap Lawnchairs - they'll fold up and collapse on ya in the blink of an eye  good luck in the playoffs all... not sure the Syrups will get out of the wild card. edit: while updating my Waffletown career stats sheet, in the team-v-team section it jumped out that the Syrups have faced on OL team significantly more than any other... 147 matchups with the Hartford Whalers, with the lifetime record of 73-74 (next closest is 91 games vs Port Ruppert, also a single game difference of 45-46). |
