Game 2: Cherry 7 at Dalton Farm 8 Fog Crawlers Rally Past Ghoulrillas to Claim 2-0 Series Lead The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers got a strong game from starter Phil Cecil, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win. The Fog Crawlers took the 8-7 win over the Cherry Ghoulrillas in Game 2 of the Season Pass Series in a 9th inning walk-off today. The win capped off a fine outing for the left-handed Cecil. Cecil threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs in the win, which gave the Fog Crawlers a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Colin Goldsworthy was the walk-off hero for Dalton Farm. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Fog Crawlers first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home. "I like our moxie," said Fog Crawlers manager Paul Manchild. Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park. Game 3: Dalton Farm 10 at Cherry 6 Fog Crawlers Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0 Riding the 4-hit performance of shortstop Chris Huffsettler, the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers got a road win against the Cherry Ghoulrillas, 10-6, in Game 3 of the Season Pass Series today. Game 4: Dalton Farm 3 at Cherry 2 Dalton Farm Trims Cherry In Season Pass Association Finals The creme de la creme of Season Pass Association baseball are the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers. The team just put away the Cherry Ghoulrillas 3-2 to capture the overall title. The Fog Crawlers finished the Ghoulrillas off 4-0. Speaking with reporters after the victory, the Fog Crawlers manager extolled his team, "It was pure bliss this season. From day one they put their hearts and souls into this team. When you have talented players and they work hard and play together, it doesn't take much to manage them. All I did was make the lineup card and let 'em play." During the Vim! League Harbor Division regular season, the Fog Crawlers finished first in the standings, posting a record of 54-30. |

BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 24 August 2303 Feature Story: Are We Forgetting About the Party Boys? They have claimed the North Charles Association crown the past two season and won the Sole Survivor Series two years ago over the Atom Cats. So why are we not talking much about the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys? Well, we should. And now we are. Things were not looking good for the Boys early in the season. Finishing April at 10-10 and leaving May with a 19-23 record, Nordhagen Beach looked to be out of the running early in the season. In fact, on June 1, the Boys were in 5th place, already 10 games back of Brotherhood League leader County Crossing. The only team worse than the Boys at that point in the NCA was The Slog Ghouls at 16-26. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1686267648 But June marked a turnaround, and the Party Boys started to win. A lot. They went 14-7 in June, 17-3 (!!!) in July, and now possess a 10-7 August record that started as a 2-5 record. At 60-44, Nordhagen Beach now holds the second-best record in the NCA behind only the Bloodbugs and the CBO's fifth-best record. With 482 runs scored, the Party Boys are 2nd in runs scored as opposed to 5th in runs allowed (418). While they are not hitting the ball that well as a team (6th in BA at .257), they are jacking a lot of balls out of the park. Much of that success is due to the middle of their lineup with RF Jonathan Angelou (.311/37/103) in the middle of an MVP race, as well as CF Maxx Murtagh (.286/33/76) and LF Michael Fogcrawler (.257/23/70). 3B Dirty Dog Sapienza (.315/12/38) has also been a major contributor to their explosive offense. The starting pitching has the 2nd-best ERA at 3.62, but their numbers seem a little off compared to previous years. Ace SP Beachboy Nut (15-7, 2.97) is having a great year, but his record is harking back to being a part of some of those bad Roxbury teams he started with. SP Ugio Church (7-8, 3.83) does not have a bad ERA but also gets the worst run support of his fellow staff. SP Chet Arthur (10-5, 3.22) and SP Tommy Beach (10-7, 4.21) are chugging along as best they can. The bullpen has been their weakest unit, standing at 9th in the NCA in ERA at 4.41, including blowing several games late. CL Matt Breakball was the winner of the closer sweepstakes, but he has struggled with a 4.73 ERA, 24 saves, and 6 blown saves, the second most of his career. MR Lawdog Whipple, a one-time starter in Lexington, has been the best bullpen pitcher, sporting a 2-1 record with a 2.54 ERA. Eight-year veteran reliever Night Demon Archaki is 4-1 with a 3.27 ERA. Analysis Roxbury takes #1 in the Power Rankings after winning 10 straight. The Rad Sox swept Goodneighbor (#18), Egret (#21), Quincy (#23), and Oberland (#20) in a decently easy two-week stretch. It will get a bit tougher down the stretch with 6 of their last 8 opponents in playoff contention. County Crossing dropped to #2 last week and remains there this week by going 6-4 in their last 10. Despite being the first team to clinch a playoff berth in the 2303 playoffs, they currently trail the Rad Sox. The Bloodbugs swept Abernathy (#16), won two of three at Nordhagen Beach (see below), split at Sunshine Tidings (#17), and then lost two of three at home versus The Slog (#22). University Point moves into the #3 position with a 6-4 record the past two weeks. The Claws split at FHE (#6), lost two of three at the Hancocks, split at the Ninjas, and then swept Quincy. Atom is right on the Claws' trail and takes the #4 spot after a 6-4 two-week stretch. The Cats swept Diamond City (#7), lost two of three at the Gunners, split at Vault 81 (#12), and then won all three versus Warwick (#24). Nordhagen Beach, our featured team this week, moves into the #5 spot. In the past two weeks, they have gone 8-2, including a sweep at Lexington (#15), losing two of three to the Bugs, sweeping Starlight (#11), and sweeping Salem (#19). NCA 1. County Crossing 2. Today in the CBO Settlements Today by Nat Wright-Kowalski 24 August 2303 Sanctuary Hills: A Sanctuary of My Own I used to despise Sanctuary Hills with a passion, consumed by resentment and bitter memories that had seeped into my heart. The mere mention of its name would ignite a storm of emotions within me, courtesy of one man who had whisked away my beloved sister, Piper, on countless adventures. Nate Howard, the source of my angst, hailed from this very place, and as such, I associated Sanctuary Hills with pain and heartache. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1686271390 Little did I know that fate had a peculiar way of guiding us toward the paths we least expect. In a twist of irony, it was the remarkable transformation of Sanctuary Hills that would serve as the catalyst for my journey of healing, forgiveness, and ultimately, a newfound appreciation for this remarkable neighborhood. As my story begins, the notion of a GECK constantly reminded me of my grievances. These "Garden of Eden Creation Kits" were scarce resources capable of fostering lush vegetation in a radiation-free environment. And to my dismay, Nate had utilized one of these coveted GECKs in Sanctuary Hills. How could he have taken something so precious and bestowed it upon a place I despised? Why not in Diamond City, I thought. Why did he get all the power, make all the decisions? Who was this man? https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1686271390 Yet, curiosity eventually overcame my anger, compelling me to visit the very place I had once detested. Sanctuary Hills, nestled just outside the peaceful, scenic Concord, emerged before my eyes as a tranquil haven seemingly untouched by the sorrows of the fallout. It was indeed a Sanctuary in the barren wastes. Enveloped by the shimmering waters of Warners Pond, a graceful runoff of the Assabet River, Sanctuary Hills exuded an air of serenity that was hard to resist. The old house, once a poignant symbol of my resentment, had been transformed into a magnificent testament to architectural elegance. Beautiful, sprawling houses now adorned the landscape, each exuding a unique charm, effortlessly blending modern design with the neighborhood's rich history. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1686271397 Beyond the enchanting residential enclaves, a bustling community had taken root. The spirit of rejuvenation had breathed new life into Sanctuary Hills, manifesting itself in an array of shops, eateries, and entertainment venues. As I strolled along the newly-paved streets, the harmonious symphony of laughter, conversation, and tantalizing aromas filled the air, eroding the barriers of my resentment one note at a time. A vibrant marketplace had emerged, adorned with quaint boutiques that displayed an eclectic mix of local craftsmanship and global influences. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air, mingling with the delicious scent of freshly baked pastries. I succumbed to the irresistible allure of one such café, 8 Cups of Joe, finding solace in the warmth of its embrace as I sipped a perfectly crafted latte made of refined tarred silt beans, brahmin milk, and blended bloatfly spit. It may not sound delicious, but I consider it now to be a local delicacy. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1686271397 The transformation of Sanctuary Hills extended beyond its physical aspects; it had grown into a community bonded by a shared vision of harmony and progress. Nate's love for adventure had permeated the fabric of this neighborhood, inspiring a spirit of exploration and curiosity among its residents. Parks, walking trails, and hidden gems awaited discovery at every corner, inviting one to immerse themselves in the wonders of nature and the joys of communal bonds. As the years passed and I saw all the good Nate had done, my bitterness gradually dissolved into the gentle embrace of acceptance. In place of resentment, I discovered a newfound appreciation for the beauty that can blossom from the ashes of the past. Sanctuary Hills had evolved, just as I had. It had grown and matured, just as I had. It had become a place for me to love, to embrace. Through my own transformation from bratty little sister to the great Piper to the woman I am today, I came to understand that Nate's actions were driven by his desire to create a sanctuary, not only for himself but for those who would seek solace within its embrace. The GECK, once a symbol of resentment, now represented the transformative power of forgiveness and healing—a testament to the resilience of both land and soul. While some of my bitterness was that only a mini-GECK was used to transform the dull dirt of my old home in Diamond City back to the luscious pre-War Great Green Jewel once known as Fenway Park, I now know that I am lucky to have witnessed these tremendous transformations. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1686271390 As I sit here today, gazing upon the picturesque landscape of Sanctuary Hills, I can't help but reflect on the lessons it has taught me. I am writing this story within the cozy booths of 8 Cups of Joe, and I can see now that Sanctuary Hills is a place that has risen from the ashes of the wasteland, rejuvenated by the dedication of its residents, and the power of forgiveness. My forgiveness. It is a place where dreams have been rebuilt, and where the scars of the past have been transformed into symbols of hope and resilience. I can see the mansion lying atop where Nate’s dreams of a perfect family living the American dream were shattered by the bombs of 2077. His house now razed like his lost family of his past. I walked past this spot where his long-lost wife, Nora, now rests in what was the Howard backyard. Nate, too, has risen from the ashes. Old “Blue,” as Piper called him, turned this waste into a paradise of sorts. I find myself drawn here, never wanting to depart. Maybe I am rising from my own ashes, becoming the independent, mature woman I was destined to be. I came here last week and caught the second game of a GBRL double-header between the home Sanctuary Hills Zetans (Lexington) and Walden Pond Poets (Nordhagen Beach). I stayed for the peace of mind. Sanctuary Hills, once an object of my disdain, has now become a sanctuary of my own. And in this sanctuary, I have found the strength to heal, to forgive, and to embark on my own adventures, alongside the spirit of Nate Howard that forever resides within its bounds. |
That is one good looking settlement. It really is one of the best in game, so much so even someone not putting much effort in can make it nice, but this rendition goes again and clearly blows all that type of stuff out of the water.

CBO News
https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1623123150
BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 27 August 2303 CBO Announces Three Finalists for Purchase of Warwick Franchise The CBO has revealed the three finalists who have emerged as potential purchasers for the struggling Warwick Mirelurks franchise. All three groups have expressed an immediate interest in relocating the franchise, sparking intrigue and excitement among baseball fans across the region. The CBO has agreed to allow the relocation, though some plans may involve temporary relocation to revitalize the Warwick Mirelurks by transferring ownership to a group dedicated to breathing new life into the franchise struggling to attract its lowly-populated settlement to baseball games for a bad team. The finalists' ambitious visions and their intention to relocate the team have generated buzz throughout the Commonwealth. Roger Warwick, the current owner of the Mirelurks, has decided to part ways with the team, paving the way for this monumental transition. While his reasons for selling remain undisclosed, speculations suggest that Warwick intends to focus on personal endeavors, exploring uncharted territories outside of baseball, including working on expanding some of his farming ventures. Now, let's delve into the three finalists and the unique aspirations that drive their desire to acquire the Warwick Mirelurks franchise: The Stockton Synth Relations group led by Amelia Stockton envisions transforming the Warwick Mirelurks into a thriving team she has nicknamed the "Red Coats" as an ironic nod to her home at Bunker Hill where the American Revolutionists fought the English in America's fight for independence. Stockton's proposal combines baseball with a community-driven focus, aiming to unite synth and human residents under the banner of teamwork and camaraderie. The Drumlin Diner group, led by CEO Patrick Drumlin, has ambitious plans to relocate the Warwick Mirelurks to Spectacle Island, aptly named "The Nine on the Isle." Drumlin's vision merges baseball and island life, offering settlers a unique combination of entertainment and relaxation amidst the ever-present dangers of the Wasteland. Drumlin has considered maintaining the Mirelurks team name, though that has not been determined. While there is no Drumlin Diner franchise on Spectacle Island, Drumlin said that a shipment of materials and supplies would change that before the end of 2303. The final finalist is Beantown Brewery led by Vadim Bobrov with assistance from his brother Yefrim. The Bobrov brothers aspire to expand on their brand, potentially taking over the South Boston location currently occupied by Goodneighbor or expanding on a stadium in the Boston Harbor area. With their expertise in brewing and hospitality, the Beantown Brewery group aims to create an immersive experience for fans, blending the excitement of the sport with the charm of locally crafted beverages. They have also proposed possibly moving the Mirelurks to the Railroad League near their Beantown Brewery just north of Oberland. That could mean either Roxbury or FHE would have to move leagues. One possibility could be to move the team across the railroad tracks from the Beantown Brewery to reclaim the Graygarden field where the Oberland T-51s used to play. The CBO eagerly anticipates finalizing the sale of the Warwick Mirelurks franchise to one of these exceptional groups. Once a buyer is selected, the transition process will begin, promising an exhilarating future for the franchise and its new home. As the Commonwealth eagerly awaits the decision, baseball fans and settlement dwellers alike eagerly anticipate the dawn of a new era for the Warwick Mirelurks and the first real franchise change in CBO history. |
Bunker Hill would be a good place for a team. Don't know how I feel about relocation in character, but Bunker Hill certainly wouldn't be a *bad* spot for a team.

For your series, I try to look at things with a bit of an "in character" perspective a lot of the time, and tbh of those locations, Bunker Hill is the most "urban"... I dunno, maybe I'm just the 2300 equivalent of "herp derp every team needs to be a large market team" pest on twitter  |

BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 7 September 2303 Feature Story: Will the Real IL Winner Please Standup? With just two weeks and 10 games left to play in the 2303 CBO season, the Institute League is just as jumbled as it has been all season. Currently, the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud are holding onto a sliver of a lead in the league, with five of the six teams technically in contention to win it. Though Abernathy is not officially eliminated, they trail by eight games and mathematically cannot overtake any team to win the IL. They could, however, potentially slip into the #5 spot, that would take a 10-0 finish along with some very specific help. While the Shroud seem to be the team most likely to win it, let's take a dive into the IL Pennant Chase and what each team has left. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1686497391 Fort Hagen - 57-53, 1st Playoff Chances: 91.8% Remaining Schedule: vs County Crossing (2-4), vs Abernathy (4-5), at Nordhagen Beach (2-4), at Sunshine Tidings (5-4) Predicted Final 10: 1-1, 2-1, 0-2, 2-1 - 5-5 Predicted Final Record: 62-58, t-1st Likely Playoff Seed: 4th Concord - 56-54, 2nd Playoff Chances: 83.9% Remaining Schedule: at Salem (2-4), vs Lexington (3-3), vs Easy Town (3-3), at Lexington (3-3) Predicted Final 10: 1-1, 2-1, 1-1, 2-1 - 6-4 Predicted Final Record: 62-58, t-1st (season series over Fort Hagen, so home in play-in) Likely Playoff Seed: 2nd Lexington - 55-55, 3rd Playoff Chances: 59.3% Remaining Schedule: at Easy Town (3-3), at Concord (3-3), vs County Crossing (1-5), vs Concord (3-3) Predicted final 10: 1-1, 1-2, 0-2, 1-2 - 3-7 Predicted Final Record: 58-62 Likely Playoff Seed: None Starlight - 53-57, t-4th Playoff Chances: 20.4% Remaining Schedule: at Finch Farm (4-2), vs Sunshine Tidings (6-3), vs Salem (4-2), at Abernathy (4-5) Predicted Final 10: 2-0, 2-1, 2-0, 1-2 - 7-3 Predicted Final Record: 60-60 Likely Playoff Seed: 5th Sunshine Tidings - 53-57, t-4th Playoff Chances: 31.7% Remaining Schedule: vs The Slog (3-1), at Starlight 3-6), at The Slog (3-1), vs Fort Hagen (4-5) Predicted Final 10: 2-0, 1-2, 1-1, 1-2 - 5-5 Predicted Final Record: 58-62 Likely Playoff Seed: None Analysis County Crossing is the #1 team in the Power Rankings after reclaiming the CBO's best record after a 9-1 stretch in their last 10. Haymarket Mall left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Commandos celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors' clubhouse following the game. "Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Haymarket Mall manager Austin Shuler. "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void." A jovial mood filled the air as Haymarket Mall celebrated into the night. Shuler said a party on the roof plans were underway with a "huge celebration" in the works. "We're going to celebrate our team, our championship Haymarket Mall Commandos," Shuler said. The champions completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Massachusetts Association Downtown Boston League and a 47-30 record. Despite being on the losing end, Taffington Boathouse CF John Merrow was named the MVP off the Boston Minor Series. In four games, he batted 7 for 15 with a double, three home runs, six RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases. GBRL Mass Pike Radroaches Win Rookie Series: In a commanding 4-1 victory against the Arlington Caps at Mass Gravel and Sand Lot today, the Mass Pike Radroaches clinched their inaugural championship title. The Radroaches left no room for doubt regarding their supremacy. The clubhouse was filled with jubilation and a strong sense of teamwork, as they reveled in an exceptional year. "We came, we fought, we won," Rookie Series MVP 1B Rich Verdu said. Verdu finished the series 6 for 14 with three homers, three walks, seven RBI, and five runs "That was a good win, makes me hungry for a brahmin burger," stated Porky Dietz, the manager of Mass Pike. "Seriously, I'm hungry." The atmosphere was electric as Mass Pike continued their celebrations late into the night. The city's mayor confirmed that preparations for a parade were already underway and that a grand celebration was in the works. "I sincerely hope they have an extraordinary celebration," remarked Nick Morse, the manager of Arlington. "They truly earned this series victory and deserve to commemorate their achievement. That lineup is scary. Truly scary." |
You know, with the IL being that close, it reminds me how I constantly marvel OOTP is able to handle calculating all these weird standing situations. I mean, I'm a math person, I know it's possible, but it's more like "I know a lot of dev teams would half-ass this and have a program full of bugs that'd constantly get this kind of thing wrong", so I'm glad I've never had OOTP fail to handle qualification logic on me.

Reminds me how Christmas 2022 I got a new monitor that can actually handle higher resolutions instead of the emergency purchase from grad school when when the previous one died 5 hours from a term paper being due. What do I appreciate more? Skyrim in all it's graphical fidelity? No. The fact that the entire box score displays in OOTP now instead of being cut off  |

BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 23 September 2303 CBO Regular Season Ends, Playoffs Begin The 2303 Commonwealth Baseball Organization regular season has come to an end, and the stage is set for an exhilarating playoff run. The top seeds in the North Commonwealth Association and South Commonwealth Association have been determined, with the County Crossing Bloodbugs and Roxbury Rad Sox claiming the coveted positions, respectively. In the NCA, the County Crossing Bloodbugs finished the regular season with an impressive record, displaying dominance both at home and on the road. Manager Crow Guai expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, stating, "Our players have shown tremendous dedication and teamwork throughout the season. We are ready to carry this momentum into the playoffs and make a strong push for the Sole Survivor Series." Meanwhile, the Concord Radstags, led by experienced manager Mark Gourdroot, secured the second seed in the NCA. Gourdroot shared his thoughts on the team's prospects, saying, "We've had some ups and downs this season, but we've learned from our mistakes. The playoffs are a fresh start, and we're focused on playing our best baseball when it matters most." Over in the SCA, the Roxbury Rad Sox claimed the top seed, much to the delight of their manager, Coffee Kupp. "Our team has worked incredibly hard this season, and their dedication is paying off. We're excited to showcase our skills in the playoffs and prove why we deserve to be here," Kupp remarked. The defending champions, the University Point Deathclaws, managed by veteran coach Woody Lumpkin, secured the second seed in the SCA. Lumpkin acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead as his team attempts to defend its title, stating, "The playoffs are a different ballgame. We've seen the level of competition in our association, and it's tough. However, our team is prepared, and we're ready to leave it all on the field." The playoffs will kick off with the #4 versus #5 seed matchups in both associations. The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud will face off against the Sunshine Tidings Chemists in the NCA, while the Diamond City Swatters will take on the FHE Yao Guai in the SCA. The winners of these matchups will then advance to the semifinals, where they will face the top seeds of their respective associations. The winners of the #4 versus #5 matchups will challenge the Bloodbugs in the NCA and the Rad Sox in the SCA. Simultaneously, the #2 and #3 seeds, the Radstags and Nordhagen Beach Party Boys in the NCA and the Deathclaws and Atom Cats in the SCA, will face each other for a chance to secure their spots in the Sole Survivor Series. As the playoffs unfold, intense rivalries, clutch performances, and unexpected upsets are sure to captivate fans across the Commonwealth. With the fierce competition and talented teams involved, predicting the outcomes of the playoffs is no easy task. However, there has been some heavy betting action at Easy City Downs that the Sunshine Tidings Chemists and the Diamond City Swatters could be the dark horses to watch out for as they navigate their paths to the championship. Another matchup to watch for: the Boys and Shroud have met in the last five playoffs. For that to happen this season, the #3 Party Boys and #4 Shroud would have to meet in the NCA Championship Series for the fourth time in the past five years. The only exception was in 2301 when Nordhagen Beach beat the Silver Shroud in the semifinals and then on to win it all over County Crossing and then Atom. In the end, all eyes will be on the Sole Survivor Series, where the two most deserving teams will vie for ultimate glory. Who will emerge as the champions of the CBO's 2303 season? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the playoffs are bound to deliver nail-biting moments and unforgettable baseball memories. Was really hoping for some sort of tiebreaker, but the Institute League drifted apart the last week. Excited for the playoffs though. Poor Jamaica Plain misses out while a sub-500 team in the Chemists got in
My likely inaccurate guess for the finals will be Rad Sox vs. Party Boys with the Party Boys finding a way to keep the party going yet again. But the Radstags are red hot -- they could make some serious noise! |
