That's always my biggest worry when playing the "god" role in a sim. I love the crazy end of the season when spots are still up for grabs. We got some of that last season, hoping for more of the same.

The adjustment to increases/decreases could be interesting. And with pennant race implications. The dice roll outcomes add another fun layer to the universe, although I feel like there haven't been enough creature attacks!

They happen. I just don't take the time to report on them as much. For example, in late March, Goodneighbor's Quincy Eloquent and Danny Vertibird got into a scuffle with a nest of bloatflies. Eloquent got a bit more of the worse of it but neither had a major injury from the attack. Still, Eloquent won't play until late May at earliest.

I was also checking on Vault 81's Mark Dombrowski since I had a reminder pop up about a different player and saw him on my recurring list. He had his arm severed by a mutant hound. In September, I will roll for his recovery status from arm is ready to more recovery to retired due to injuries.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

11 April 2304

Quick Report: Week 1 Done

We'll give a full report at the two-week mark, but here are a few notes, including a few surprises following the first week of the season.

After the BL vs ML and IL vs RL week of interassociation baseball, the NCA features only a single team above .500: the Lexington Synths (4-2). Meanwhile, the Railroad League has no teams below .500. Roxbury is the sole undefeated team in the CBO at 6-0, while Atom, Quincy, and FHE are all 5-1.

Biggest surprises for winning records: Gunners (5-1), Synths (4-2)

Biggest surprises for losing records: Concord (1-5), Fort Hagen (1-5)

Struggling? County Crossing (3-3), Nordhagen Beach (3-3), University Point (3-3)

Synths got bats? RF Hurr Lee Reyes was the player of the week after going .481 average (13-for-27) with 1 home run and 5 RBIs.

Other NCA Standouts: 1B Zeldolph Violet (Star, .348/4/10), RF Jonathan Angelou (NB, .286/4/8), C Jimjames Lafleur (Abe, .556/1/6), RF Babs Rooth (CC, .417/2/3)

Roxbury loaded: SS Purple Gupta of the Roxbury Rad Sox earned himself South Charles Association Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games. For the week the 23-year-old shortstop had a lofty .632 average (12-for-19), collecting 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 8 runs scored.

Other SCA Standouts: LF Melon Sanderson (Atom, .565/3/7), RF Deerlord Fugivmee (Rox, .348/0/3/6 SB), CF Sharkey Lurkfodder (Obe, .391/3/6), and SS Hose Wallcrawler (FHE, .409/3/6)

I also noticed that some of the lower teams seemed to take a few heavier ratings hits. (Note: that is mostly anecdotal because I do not want to spend the time to confirm.)

One thing I might consider doing is to change the balanced approach to the CBO of special events to an unbalanced one based on current talent level. Just to give some insight to my procedures (as a reminder):

Every game day, I roll four dice. Rolling four of the same number triggers a supermax event. Three of the same number is a max event, two pairs is a medium event, and four in a row (with wrap around from 6 to 1) is a minimum event. If it's a medium or minimum event, I roll one die with the first number appearing from the sequence being the event number.

The events are: 1 - franchise event, 2 - trade, 3 - plus stats (means ratings), 4 - minus stats (means ratings), 5 - incident/leave/suspension, 6 - creature attack

I also generate a random number that correlates with a team and then another random number that is picked from numerical order of the players on the team selected.

So, if I rolled the following: 1-4-4-4 and then generated a 15, that would mean a CBO-level player from Quincy would get minus stats (basically roll x with a *10 loss to their overall/potential ratings). Since the Gunners will suck in 2304, what I might do instead is either skip that result or only allow teams with winning records to be allowed to be selected with that result. Maybe that would mean the stats gains go only to players on below average-bad teams and stats losses would only be for players on above average-good.

I'll think about it! I just hope that the NCA actually does have tight league races this season and that the SCA can find excitement some kind of way. I don't want it to be obvious who the 10 playoff teams are going to be by the midway point of the season.

I like the way you're doing it now, and I think the league evolution so to speak feels natural, but it's probably just how it goes fitting my natural worldview of how dynasties evolve more.

As for what PAM said specifically, because you know I have to comment, while I'm sure we'll of course get a few curveballs as the games actually happen, I find myself actually saying... plausible... past few seasons I've found less and less to object to in her predictions haha. I mean, just to keep up the spirit of complaining, I feel like maybe those predictions could have been generated during our conversation during the Sole Survivor series last season, but hey, maybe the zeitgeist this 'year' is just the same.

You're right. Perhaps a bit more patience will give me the parity I desire instead of forcing it. I am seeing a couple of teams that look to be stepping up sooner than later, so every team will eventually find their success. I mean, in just eight seasons, almost every team has experienced a degree of success.

Based on early results, PAM is right on with some picks and far away with others. I am going to work on (and hopefully complete) the 2-week report. There are not many overall surprises, but 12 games into a 120-game season could be a small indicator. Teams cannot struggle for weeks and weeks and then expect to go anywhere.

Keep in mind, my "local team" is also the Cardinals, so that probably goes to show what I think when it comes to the natural order of how teams go. But I find myself actually... just tuning out the fact that this is the worse season in my lifetime basically, rather than getting upset or anything.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

18 April 2304

Analysis

In the first look at Power Rankings this season, the defending Sole Survivor Series champions, the Roxbury Rad Sox, emerge as the #1 team. The Sox continued their winning ways from 2203, going 11-1 in interassociation play and proving that they are the kings of the dungheap for the 2304 season until another team steps up.

Instead of analyzing all the wins, let us take a look at the one loss, a 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Salem Witch Hats (#18). In that game, the Rad Sox took a 3-2 lead in the top of the 5th, but then starter Whokill Poole allowed three runs in the bottom of the inning for the final score. The Hats' Newspaper Turnbull stole the show, going 2 for 4 with two home runs, two runs scored, and four RBI.

Coming in at #2 is PAM's pick, the Atom Cats. The Cats went 9-3 in their battles against the North Charles Association. All three losses came against 2303 playoff teams: County Crossing* (#19), Sunshine Tidings (#6), and 2303 NCA champs, Fort Hagen* (#17). Atom did shut out Nordhagen Beach (#4) and beat another team performing well to start, Starlight (#7).

University Point is #3. The Deathclaws struggled against the Brotherhood League, going only 3-3, but then tore through the Institute League, going 5-1. The Claws have won 7 of their last 8 and trail the Cats by only a game early on. University Point also won their last four, with a 6-5 win over the Chemists in 11 innings as the only truly close game. Against 2303 playoff teams, the Claws went 4-1, with their sole loss being a 9-2 deficit to the Party Boys.

Speaking of the Boys, they are #4 this week, possessing the best record in the NCA after a 5-1 week, the sole loss coming against the top-ranked Sox. Like the Deathclaws, Nordhagen Beach has now won 7 of its last 8 games, with that loss to Roxbury breaking a six-game winning streak. Against 2303 playoff teams, the Boys went 3-2 with their other loss coming to the #2 Cats.

At #5, we have another 2303 playoff team, the FHE Yao Guai. The Yao Guai started off really hot, winning 5 of 6 against the IL before cooling off and going 3-3 versus the BL. A couple of big wins, or so it seems, were against two teams we will look at more below, the Silver Shroud (7-6 in 11 innings) and the Bloodbugs (14-7).

What's the deal with the Bugs and Shroud? County Crossing looked to be off to another stellar start like they did in 2303 when they downed Jamaica Plain (#13), the Cats, and Spectacle Island (#22) in their first three games of 2304. Then, the Bloodbugs lost their next three and seven of their past nine games, falling to 5-7 at the end of the interassociation challenge. Not only have they lost seven games, but County Crossing has also given up a metal bucket full of runs, including games of 11, 8, 6, 11, 14, and 10. Their 79 runs allowed are currently tied for ninth in the NCA, with a 10.68 Bullpen ERA, the worst in the CBO by three ERA points.

Fort Hagen is also struggling but the panic button is far from pushed for this team. They are a team used to winning, so it is expected that their middling performance to start will not be permanent. Currently tied for 6th in the NCA in both runs scored and allowed, the Shroud do have something to work with, though they are hoping some initial offensive struggles by Well Done Dungan (.185/0/3), Ben Pawlak (.279/1/9), and Ginger Rogers (.111/0/0) can be overcome. For pitching, Derek Green (2-1, 1.71) has been outstanding, but Mike Cartrette (0-0, 6.32) has been the counterweight. Closer Kevin Marsh, who finished 2303 with 32 saves and a 1.66 ERA, has already blown 2 of his 4 save attempts and carries a 10.12 ERA through two weeks.

Hmmm, not too much of a surprise given the recent convo either, though if I had to pick something to be surprised about maybe the Yao Guai.

That ++ for Fort Hagen was from 24 to 17!

I'm not too surprised by FHE since they were a 2303 playoff team.

I mean, in my option there's two things with that.

1) Does 24 vs 17 really matter

2) That's textbook early season statistical anomaly, I know we're not giving much credence to them, but that's exactly the sort of fluctuation that could happen.

Though ironically this is also the first year I've regularly read the power rankings IRL too, so I will say your analysis is at least not as galaxy brained as most sports writers haha.

BNN Monthly Report

Last Month in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

1 May 2304

Month's Outstanding Players

CBO

NCA Hitter - At only 24 years of age, Dusty Brownell could very well have many more months like this last one during his career.

That would be great news for fans of the Concord Radstags, as April was one to remember for the first baseman and he has captured the North Charles Association Batter of the Month award.

On the month he hit .373 with 10 home runs, 31 RBIs and 16 runs scored.

SCA Hitter - When Barker Cocoa stepped up to the plate in April he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the South Charles Association Batter of the Month award.

The young University Point first baseman posted a .423 batting average with 10 home runs, 22 RBIs and scored 16 runs. Cocoa also worked pitchers for 15 walks to post a .526 on-base percentage.

NCA Pitcher - Last month's cream of the crop on the mound was Derek Green of the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud. He captured the North Charles Association Pitcher of the Month award for his outstanding performance in April.

Green started 6 games, threw 43.1 innings, yielded 44 hits and logged a 4-2 record. He put down 45 batters on strikes, walked 12 and compiled a 2.08 ERA. Opposing teams batted .265 against him.

SCA Pitcher - There's no doubt that Red Rockets starter Digger Vadim earned his South Charles Association Pitcher of the Month award. He left absolutely no room for doubt as he mowed his way through the opposition in April.

During the month Vadim was 4-1 with a 0.86 ERA. He made 6 starts, tossed 42 innings and had 35 strikeouts.

NCA Rookie - Sylvester Scalone's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young The Slog left fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month.

In April he was voted the Rookie of the Month.

During the month he hit .338 with 3 doubles, no triples and 1 home run. Scalone also scored 17 times and drove in 9 runs.

SCA Rookie - Youngster Nate Trollight emerged as the latest South Charles Association Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Quincy deserved the honor, batting .310 with 1 home run and 6 RBI. Is the month of April a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Trollight enjoy the limelight.

BMU

CA Hitter - It's official. BNN writers have voted Kern Rifleman of the Greentop Nursery Night People the Commonwealth Association Batter of the Month award for April.

During the month he recorded a .553 average with 4 home runs, 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored.

MA Hitter - Bunker Hill Gun Fu fans believe they've got a talented young star in Michael Footclaw.

He did nothing to dissuade that notion in April, as he hit .385 with 9 home runs, 18 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

The end result was the second baseman being named the Massachusetts Association Batter of the Month.

CA Pitcher - Question: Who was the #1 pitcher in the Commonwealth Association in April? Answer: That would be Matt Bowman of the Mystic Pines Raybathers. He excelled with a 2-0 mark and a 0.79 ERA in 3 starts, tossed 22.2 innings, fanned 13 and held opposing teams to a .179 average. That's exactly why the Commonwealth Association scribes voted him the Pitcher of the Month.

MA Pitcher - The Massachusetts Association scribes have announced April's Pitcher of the Month and have given the award to Jared Zaccone of Eastlake. He was one tough cookie on the mound last month with a fine 2-0 mark to prove it.

The Eastlake star made 3 starts with a 2.52 ERA and surrendered 19 hits in 25 innings. He struck out 16 and walked 6.

GBRL

NL Hitter - Knife Bowie has a lot going for him. The Arlington left fielder just broke into the majors this year and now the North League has just picked him as its top hitter for April.

In 10 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .361 with 7 home runs, 19 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

SL Hitter - Tom Hopsman is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Westing Estate second baseman joined that select company when the South League announced the results of April's voting.

Hopsman totaled 14 hits, 11 walks, 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 11 runs scored last month to put together a .389 batting average and .532 on-base percentage.

NL Pitcher - The premier pitcher this past month in the North League was Darryl Archideld of the Sanctuary Hills Zetans. He was one mighty tough pitcher, finishing April with a sensational 3-0 record and a 3.04 ERA.

The Zetans star made 3 starts and surrendered 19 hits in 23.2 innings. He struck out 27 and walked 3.

SL Pitcher - The South Boston Patriots celebrated today after the news filtered through the clubhouse that Amari McCoy had been selected as April's South League Pitcher of the Month. McCoy's zest for the game has been a frequent topic on the sports pages and his numbers of late have made his fans even more enthusiastic.

"Our coaching staff really helps me prepare well," McCoy said, "and the fans feed off good pitching. Your pitches just seem to have that extra pop to them when the fans are behind you and you feel confident you can get outs."

McCoy tossed 24 innings last month, holding opponents to a .188 average while striking out 17 batters. In 3 starting assignments he came away with a 2-1 record, putting together an ERA of 1.50.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

2 May 2304

Analysis

We are now entering the second month of the 2304 season, with most teams having played 22 games thus far. The South Charles Association has seemed to identify its haves and have nots, while the North Charles Association seems up for grabs. The Power Rankings also reflect that dynamic. Let's take a look at the top five and other stories of interest.

Coming in at #1 is the University Point Deathclaws. They are 8-2 in their last 10 games versus the Railroad League. The Claws split with Egret (#20), then won seven straight with sweeps of Vault 81 (#21) and FHE (#6), before splitting with Roxbury (#4).

A hot Jamaica Plain team is #2 thanks to the outstanding pitching of Digger Vadim (4-1, 0.86), Chris Teddybear (3-1, 1.04), and Chris Deathclaw (3-1, 1.80). Going 9-1 in the past two weeks, the Red Rockets swept the Rad Sox and Egret, split with Roxbury, and then swept the Swatters and Vault 81.

At #3, we have the other team tied for the top record in the CBO, the Atom Cats. The third Minutemen League representative in the Top 3, the Cats went 7-3 in the last two weeks. They split with Oberland (#19) and Diamond City (#8), swept the Ninjas and Dwellers, and then split with the Yao Guai.

Roxbury is #4 after going only 4-6 the past two weeks, dropping the Railroad League leaders from the top spot. The Sox were swept by Jamaica Plain, swept Spectacle Island (#23), split with the Rockets, got swept by Goodneighbor (#10), and spilt with the Claws.

Concord is the sole NCA team in the top five at the fifth spot. They went 9-1 this week with the sole loss coming yesterday to break their 10-game winning streak. In those 10 games, the Radstags swept The Slog (#17), Finch Farm (#13), County Crossing (#7), and Salem (#24) before splitting with Nordhagen Beach (#11).

Season Over? Probably

Three teams are tied for the CBO's worst record, and the months of May, June, and July are probably going to be months to start selling. The Witch Hats, Abernathy (#22), and Reapers are all just 6-16. Here's a look at players that may help another team from each of these cellar dwellers:

Salem - LF David Seaweed (.294/4/9). New to the Witch Hats team after a trade with Starlight, Seaweed is a big talent stuck on a terrible team that could use lots of prospects or a few fringe starters.

CL Justin Wilkerson (3 SV, 1.29 ERA). Wilkerson was the 2303 Fallon's Reliever Award recipient and could be a big get from some of the teams with struggling bullpens, like Salem's league rivals, the County Crossing Bloodbugs and Nordhagen Beach Party Boys.

Abernathy - 2B C.T. Woodard (.231/2/11). Woodard has struggled on offense since moving to the Adamantium from The Slog.

Spectacle Island - SP Quest Dawg (1-3, 6.75). Dawg is an up-and-coming young pitcher who could be a star in the league. Right now, he is on a bad team with lots of young talent but also a team that needs a lot of pieces. Dawg could be worthy to move to help him develop confidence and get the Reapers the help they need to be more competitive in 2304 and beyond.

This year Green has compiled a 4-1 mark with a 1.22 ERA in 5 starts.

Glad we're progressing quickly too btw, though of course if you do run into a reason you need to slow down, that is fine as well.

My week has been insane! I will probably get my next writing time either early-morning Saturday or Monday evening. Yeah, realistically speaking, I had a lull in being busy, but that lull has become a hubbub.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

16 May 2304

Analysis

The quarter mark of the season is here, and the league has definitively separated itself into contenders and pretenders with the gaps expected to grow. As May turns into June, we will probably start to see some of the same teams dealing away good players for what they hope to be better prospects. Now, let's take a look at how the best teams have fared in the past two weeks.

Roxbury is the #1 team, holding the CBO's top record which has not yet involved the 10th loss. The Rad Sox were 8-2 in their last 10 with a split with Quincy (#14), a sweep at Vault 81 (#17), a sweep at Spectacle Island (#24), and then winning two of three at home against the Dwellers.

County Crossing is next at #2. The Bloodbugs are the hottest team right now, going 9-1 in their last 10 to take over 1st place in the Brotherhood League. The Bugs swept Lexington (#22) and The Slog (#23) on the road, split with Fort Hagen (#8), and then swept the Ghouls again.

University Point is in at #3 in a tough top of the Minutemen League. The Deathclaws were 6-4 in their last 10 but still saw themselves rise up after dropping from #1 last week. UP got swept at Diamond City (#9), won two of three over league rival Jamaica Plain (#4), swept Egret (#19), and then won two of three over the Gunners.

As seen above, the Red Rockets are #4 with a 6-4 run. The Rockets got swept by Oberland (#18), lost two of three at the Claws, swept the Swatters, and then swept a struggling Atom (#10) team.

FHE closes out the top 5, going 7-3 in the last two weeks. The Yao Guai swept the Cats, beat the Ninjas two out of three times, got swept at Quincy, and then swept the T-51s.

They did not make it to the top 5, but playoff squads Concord (#6) and Nordhagen Beach (#7) have not been too shabby themselves. The Party Boys have found their winning ways, going 8-2 and trailing the Bugs by just a game, while the Radstags are three games up in the Institute League. There are now seven teams with 20+ wins, and these two teams are two of them.

Players of the Week

NCA
May 9 - Dusty Brownell demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award. This is the second straight week he claimed the top player award in the NCA.

Ross Merchantman, the Lexington Synths 21-year-old third baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for North Charles Association Player of the Week honors.

SCA
May 9 - Callie Love is respected by most Vault 81 Dwellers fans for his no-frills style of play. The 26-year-old center fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the South Charles Association Player of the Week honors.

He compiled a .444 average (8-for-18) with 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and 5 runs scored.

Love has a .224 average and a .267 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 22 hits, 3 home runs and driven in 16 runs.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

30 May 2304

Analysis

We have reached the magic number of 42 for games played for all teams but The Slog and Lexington. With plenty of baseball left (78 games for most teams), we have just nine total currently above .500: 4 in the North Charles Association and 5 in the South Charles Association. With that stated, let's take a look at the Top 5 in this week's Power Rankings and note anything else that stands out for the week.

Roxbury remains the #1 team, still holding the CBO's top record. The Rad Sox were 9-1 in their last 10 and have now won 7-straight games, an extra surge after getting their ace SP Nuke Laloosh (2-0, 1.69 in his first two starts of 2304) back from injury. In the last two weeks, the Sox swept Atom (#10), won tow of three at FHE (#14), swept the Cats again, and swept Oberland (#20).

Jamaica Plain is now #2 with a surge the last two weeks. The Red Rockets were 9-1 and are also carrying a 7-game winning streak as we close out May. The Rockets swept the Yao Guai, won two of three versus University Point (#6) whom they now lead by four games in the Minutemen League, again swept FHE, and then swept Spectacle Island (#24).

County Crossing is next at #3, holding on to the NCA's top record and a one-game lead in the Brotherhood League over Nordhagen Beach (#4). The Bloodbugs are tied as the hottest team with the Top 4 of the Power Rankings, going 9-1 in their last 10. The Bugs swept Concord (#7), swept Finch Farm (#17), split with Lexington (#18), and then swept Salem (#19).

As mentioned, the Party Boys are #4, also going 9-1 in their last 10. The Boys swept Starlight (#15), won two of three at The Slog (#22), swept the Radstags, and then swept the Ghouls.

Diamond City closes out the Top 5 after a 7-3 stretch, putting them seven games behind Roxbury in the Railroad League. The Swatters swept the Reapers, won one of three at the T-51s, swept Quincy (#16), and then won two of three versus the Yao Guai.

No teams have officially become sellers, though tracking the OSA Trading Block list can tell who those teams will be in the next two months: Abernathy (#23), Finch Farm (#17), Oberland, Quincy, Spectacle Island, and The Slog. The Four Leafs expected to be in the running for a playoff spot, but they have been unable to put a string of wins together. They are a relatively young team with a lot of good prospects in their system, so there could be some moves to offload underperforming veterans and then stock up on contributing veterans in the off season.

The Synths are this season's bad luck club so far, with five regulars on the Injured List: SP Zach DiGrande (1-2, 6.48), RP Chad Sweet (0-0, 14.73), RP Jason Pingleton (no appearances), CF Millioncap Go (.323/2/8), and CF Toppie Gunn (.170/2/6). Then again, based on the stats other than Go of those injured, maybe the Synths are in fact lucky.

Speaking of injuries, Fort Hagen's oft-injured SP Mike Cartrette (4-1, 4.42) is on the Injured List yet again, this time an expected short-term visit. Still, with the Silver Shroud at .500 (21-21), it may be time to see what returns they can get for the talented but fragile pitcher.

Who knows if he can keep up the pace all season, but University Point's 1B Barker Cocoa (.401/16/41) is dominating statistical categories (see Statistical Standouts below), leading the CBO in 7 categories and the SCA in 12. He is currently on pace to be a Triple Crown winner (leads the league in batting average, home runs, and runs batted in) in the SCA, something that no player has ever accomplished in the CBO.

Players of the Week

NCA

23 May - At the age of 27, Ben Pawlak might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Fort Hagen center fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .588 batting average. For his efforts Pawlak collected the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award.

He racked up 10 hits in 17 at-bats, 2 home runs and 5 RBIs last week in 5 games.

In 37 games this season Pawlak has compiled a .352 batting average with 50 hits and 6 home runs. He has also scored 24 times and knocked in 26 runs.

30 May - This week Sean Samuels, left fielder for the Easy Town Assaultrons, slashed, mashed and bashed his way to the North Charles Association Player of the Week trophy.

Samuels put up a .522 average as he pounded out 12 hits, 1 home run, 4 RBIs and scored 5 runs.

This season Samuels is swinging the bat at a .284 pace. He has hit 7 home runs and scored 28 times, while driving in 25. His on-base percentage is .355 and he has played in 42 games.

SCA

23 May - His teammates, fans, peers and even the BNN sportswriters all agreed that Matt Ratican was worthy of the South Charles Association Player of the Week Award.

During the week the Goodneighbor first baseman compiled a .450 batting average (9-for-20) with 4 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 6 runs.

Looking at his stats this year, Ratican has compiled a .331 batting average, while hitting 9 home runs and driving in 27 runs. He has played in 37 games and scored 21 runs.

30 May - One of the league's most exciting young players, Damani Beebe of the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets earned himself South Charles Association Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games.

For the week the 25-year-old left fielder had a lofty .538 average (14-for-26), collecting 2 home runs, 12 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
