A Hubflower for Magnolia: The Case of the Jilted Lovers

Chapter 6: Mission: Nate

The sun was just beginning to rise below the horizon, casting long shadows across the broken landscape of the Commonwealth as I made my way to the Castle. The stronghold of the Minutemen stood as a beacon of order in a world of chaos, and it was here that I hoped to find some direction in the increasingly complicated case of Magnolia's stalker.

The air was crisp, the kind that bites at exposed flesh, not that it bothered me much, you know, in my synth body. Memories of life. What did bother me was the nagging thought of how Nate Howard, the Commonwealth's hero, could fit into this twisted narrative. The Silver Shroud's recent involvement had added an unexpected layer of complexity to the case. My synthetic brain churned through the possibilities as I approached the familiar walls of the Castle.

Preston Garvey met me with his usual mix of stoicism and warmth. He told me how a settlement out west could use some help. After explaining to him my situation, though, he understood the urgency in my voice when I mentioned needing to find Nate. I was grateful for the Minutemen's efficiency; within minutes, they had a vertibird ready to whisk me to Quincy, where Nate was reportedly taking on a rogue group of Gunners.

The vertibird ride was turbulent, a reminder of the instability not just in the skies but on the ground, too. I gazed down at the scarred earth, pondering the complexities of human emotions and the lengths some would go for perceived love or obsession. Magnolia's case wasn't just about a stalker; it was about the darker aspects of desire and the consequences thereof.

As we neared Quincy, the sound of gunfire and shouts broke the hum of the vertibird's engines. The scene below was chaotic. A group of Gunners was dug in, exchanging fire with Nate and a few of his Minutemen compatriots. The vertibird descended, and I felt the familiar rush of adrenaline, despite my synthetic nature.

Preston and I jumped out, weapons drawn. The world narrowed down to the sights and sounds of battle. Gunfire rang out, bullets kicking up dirt and debris. I moved with calculated precision, every shot aimed to incapacitate rather than kill. My detective's mind was still active, running through the details of the case even as I dodged bullets and returned fire.

Nate was a whirlwind in the fight, moving with a purpose and efficiency that spoke of his extensive experience. His shots were precise, his movements fluid. Preston, too, fought with a determination and skill honed by countless battles defending the Commonwealth. My sidearm was mostly ineffective other than drawing attention away from Nate and Preston.

Among the chaos, I found myself reflecting on the case. The stalker was meticulous, intelligent, and driven by a twisted sense of possession over Magnolia. This level of obsession suggested a deeper psychological issue, one that perhaps Nate's experience and connections could help unravel. He also was unlikely to be a victim of the serial killer.

The firefight seemed to stretch on forever, but eventually, the Gunners were subdued. The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder and the sharp tang of blood. In the aftermath, as we stood amidst the carnage, I finally had a chance to speak with Nate.

"I need your help with the Magnolia case," I said, my voice steady despite the exertion. I explained that a person dressed in the Silver Shroud costume appeared to complicate the situation.

Nate wiped the sweat and grime from his brow, his expression serious. “What do you need from me?"

I explained the situation as succinctly as I could – the stalking, the mysterious deaths, and the hubflowers. Nate listened intently, his brow furrowed in thought.

"Magnolia didn't want you involved initially," I admitted, "But I think your unique perspective could be what cracks this case wide open."
Nate nodded, understanding the weight of the situation. "Let's head back to Goodneighbor. I'll do whatever I can to help."

As we boarded the vertibird to return to Goodneighbor, I felt a sense of cautious optimism. The case was complex, layered with emotional turmoil and hidden dangers. But with Nate's involvement, I felt we were a step closer to unraveling the mystery.

The flight back was quiet, each of us lost in our thoughts. I reflected on the case, turning over every detail in my mind. The stalker was clever and dangerous, but he had made a mistake. And in that mistake, I knew we would find the key to bringing him to justice.

For Magnolia, for the Commonwealth, and for the sake of justice, we would solve this case. And as the lights of Goodneighbor came into view, I steeled myself for the challenges ahead. This was more than a mere investigation; it was a battle against the darkest parts of human nature. And I was ready.

Among a group chat I was in yesterday, there were complaints about the LSU alternative uniform (all white yesterday, including the helmet) and the expansion to a 12-team playoff in 2024. There has also been complaints in that same group chat about NIL, free transfers, and conference realignment. I'm open to all of it and I'm excited to see how the dynamics of college sports change. The crazy thing is that in that LSU group chat they will also acknowledge that LSU (national championships in 2023 in baseball and women's basketball, 2022 SEC West championship in football) has benefitted from all these changes, but they don't like it because "tradition."

For my universe here, I have definitely sketched out population centers. That's why you will see a few teams moving out of the farms and into the places in the Commonwealth where there are lots of buildings, all either repaired or being repaired.

Also, and this is not a spoiier since I have released several news stories related to it, there will be a 4-team expansion in 2310. I have had a bit of a trigger finger to do it earlier, but my timeline states that the Glowing Sea Dome, the CBO's first domed stadium, is set to be completed in late 2309. Goodneighbor's stadium is also set to be ready for 2309, so the abandoned stadium in South Boston will be available. Cambridge's stadium will be available before 2310, and I also plan to have Nahant as the fourth team.

That also means I need to decide on 12 new locations for minor league teams. I'll have to look at my Fallout 4 map, or consider expanding beyond the map to a few more real towns outside of Boston.

I should clarify though, lest people get the wrong impression, but I'm not one of the tradition for tradition's sake either people to be fair. I like change, and I like improvement. I'm just of the opinion (generally in real life) that most changes are just change for change sake and don't actually progress anything. Hence why I said all your changes seemed to be with a purpose, and thus good changes. I like changes when they're done by someone with vision, I don't like changes when they're done by Dilbert's boss, haha.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

18 January 2305

Nuka Cup to Change

The 2305 Nuka Cup is changing its opening rounds, moving from a double-elimination setup to what is called a Round Robin.

In this setting, each of the host teams--Roxbury, County Crossing, Jamaica Plain, and Nordhagen Beach--will host five other teams from the CBO. Every team will play five series with the top two teams from each group advancing to a Quarterfinal Round. Those will be the top two teams from the Roxbury group facing the top two teams from the Nordhagen Beach group and the top two teams from the County Crossing group facing the top two teams from the Jamaica Plain group.

Roxbury will host the following teams: Easy Town, Diamond City, Starlight, Oberland, and Bunker Hill.

County Crossing will host Atom, Fort Hagen, Goodneighbor, Salem, and Quincy.

Jamaica Plain will host Sunshine Tidings, FHE, Concord, Spectacle Island, and The Slog.

Finally, Nordhagen Beach will host the following teams: University Point, Lexington, Vault 81, Finch Farm, and Egret.

The tournament begins on February 28 with the Round Robin ending on March 16. The Quarterfinal Round will be March 18-20, the Semifinal Round will be March 22-24, and the Nuka Cup Final Series will be March 26-28. The regular season begins on April 4.

How easy is it to set up these custom pre-seasons btw? Is it difficult to override default spring training?

I schedule the preseason tournament games as exhibitions. My Spring Training is set for one week. I need to edit the schedules of the two teams in the Nuka Cup finals since Spring Training begins on March 26. I will just make their opponents play each other during that time.

6 March 2305

2305 Nuka Cup

The 2305 Nuka Cup Tournament has begun with the first week of the new Round Robin underway. There are some surprises and some interesting stories to come out in this first week. We will discuss those below.

This marks the sixth season of the Nuka Cup in this 10th season of the Commonwealth Baseball Organization. In the first four seasons, the tournaments were divided into Invitationals in the 2296 season and then the Battles for the North and South from 2297-2299. The following are past champions of the Nuka Cup:

2300 - Abernathy (now Bunker Hill)
2301 - Nordhagen Beach
2302 - Starlight
2303 - Atom
2304 - Atom

Group A - Roxbury

Roxbury and Starlight had the best week, each winning their series to start 2-0 in the Round Robin. That means each of those teams has the inside track to be the top two teams in the group.

The Rad Sox will face Diamond City and Starlight this week, while the Lady Killers will also face Oberland. Both the Swatters and T-51s may find themselves eliminated if they lose either of their series this week. Next week, they face off, so one of them will definitely be eliminated.

In a matchup of Diamond City's Sheng Kawolski versus Bunker Hill's Hangman Alley, who went 6-15 with a 5.73 ERA in 2304, if I told you one pitched a no-hitter in a 5-0 victory, you would guess Kawolski, right? Not so fast, my friend. The 75ers' Alley gave hope to the newly-relocated franchise, walking three Swatters and striking out four in the no-hit bid.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1701530317

Group B - Nordhagen Beach

Nordhagen Beach started out the 2305 campaign toying with their opponents, serving as the only team to sweep both opponents. Joining them at the top of the standings is second-seeded University Point which swept Vault 81 and won two of three over Finch Farm.

Both the Dwellers and Four Leafs lost both series, going 1-5 overall. They get to face each other in an elimination series, with Vault 81 also drawing the Party Boys in their first game of the week.

The Party Boys also face 1-1 Lexington, while the Deathclaws with both 1-1 teams in the Synths and Ninjas. That means both the Boys and Claws could clinch their groups faster than any other, assuming they win one or both series this week.

University Point SP Tony Bertha started the season right, pitching a complete-game one-hitter with nine strikeouts in a 9-0 victory over Finch Farm. Pipe Wallcrawlers's 3rd-inning single was the only hit for the Four Leafs.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1701530317

Group C - County Crossing

County Cross stomped out both Quincy and Salem to start out 2-0 in their group, while Goodneighbor started hot, beating Fort Hagen twice and sweeping second-seeded Atom. Both the Cats and Gunners had a poor week. Those teams play later this week for an elimination series, which may be redundant if they lose their first series of the week.

The Bloodbugs matchup with the Hancocks in the first game of the week, which could prove to be the clinching series. The Bugs also meet up with the 1-1 Silver Shroud. Goodneighbor will meet up with 1-1 Salem.

The Hancocks showed some late-inning offensive moxie, coming back in four of their games, including all three games against Atom. RP Gus Valdez was able to take advantage of two of those games, earning two victories thanks to 3.2 innings of scoreless pitching during those late-game comebacks.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1701530317

Group D - Jamaica Plain

This group was unique with only one team emerging from the first week with a 2-0 record: FHE. The Yao Guai downed both Concord and The Slog, winning two in each series. That means four teams went 1-1 with only second-seeded Sunshine Tidings going 0-2.

This means that the Yao Guai would have to go 2-0 again and the Chemists would have to go 0-2 for either to officially clinch or be eliminated. However, an FHE victory would put them in a good position heading into their final series against Spectacle Island. the Guai meet the top two seeds in Sunshine Tidings and Jamaica Plain this week.

Multiple players in the CBO hit four home runs in the first week of the Nuka Cup. Only one hit five: Jamaica Plain's Hid Matsumoto. Matsumoto, who hit 24 home runs in 2304, looked good in hitting five home runs, including a two-homer bid in a 5-2 victory over Spectacle Island.

Top Systems

Assuming that the top prospects continue on a CBO path, these are the Top Systems coming into the 2305 season with points assigned to ranked players in the system.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

13 March 2305

2305 Nuka Cup

Week 2 of the 2305 Nuka Cup Tournament is now complete. Two teams--County Crossing and University Point--know for sure that they will be moving on to the next round while 18 other teams are still in the running based on results and the need for some help in certain cases. Let's analyze the four groups.

Group A - Roxbury

Roxbury and Starlight still remain atop the group standings, though they both need either a series win or certain situations to occur should they not.

The Rad Sox face off with Easy Town in their final series of the Group A Round Robin. Should they lose, they need both the Lady Killers to lose their series to Bunker Hill and Diamond City to lose its series to Oberland. Should that happen, the Sox would win tiebreakers to get in.

For the Killers, should they lose to the 75ers, they need the Swatters to fall and they need Roxbury to win its series. That would allow Starlight to claim the second spot in Group A.

Both Bunker Hill and Oberland can only play spoilers in Group A since both squads are eliminated from moving on to the Quarterfinals.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1701553274

Group B - Nordhagen Beach

With four-straight series wins, the University Point Deathclaws have already clinched a spot in the Quarterfinals. Should they also defeat host Nordhagen Beach in the series finale, they will also be the Group B winners.

For the Party Boys, a series win gives them the #1 spot in their regional. Otherwise, they need Finch Farm to defeat Lexington in the series finale to claim the #2 seed.

The Four Leafs can only play spoilers since they lose a tiebreaker against Nordhagen Beach. However, their opponent, the Synths defeated the Boys, meaning that Lexington needs a series win and a University Point series win to advance. Egret and Vault 81 are competing to avoid 6th place in the group.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1701553274

Group C - County Crossing

County Crossing has both clinched a Quarterfinals berth and the #1 seed in their group after going 4-0 in their first four series. For the rest of the group, it gets tricky.

At 2-2, Salem is currently the tiebreaker leader thanks to series wins over the other 2-2 teams, Goodneighbor and Atom. Should the Witch Hats defeat Fort Hagen in their last series, Salem will be the second team to emerge from Group B.

If Salem does not win, Goodneighbor is next in line should they defeat Quincy in their series due to a series win over the Cats.

Now, if this scenario happens, then we have a mess: the Bloodbugs defeat Atom, Fort Hagen defeats Salem, and the Gunners down Goodneighbor. In that case, all five teams other than the Bugs finish at 2-3. Head-to-head matchups would be the first tiebreaker, in which all four teams would have gone 2-2 against each other. That would bring it to the second tiebreaker, overall record. The Hancocks would have the inside track for that one unless swept. Both the Silver Shroud and Gunners would have to sweep to still be alive.

Should there still be ties, then the final tiebreakers would be run differentials. We'll wait for results before we break down those possibilities. But let's be honest. We all hope for the chaos of five teams tied at 2-3!

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1701553274

Group D - Jamaica Plain

While not as complicated as Group C with every team alive, Group C still has five teams alive with only Spectacle Island officially eliminated from moving on to the next round.

FHE still leads the group with a 3-1 mark in their first four series. Should they win at least two against the Reapers, the Yao Guai will clinch the top spot in Group D. Should they lose, several scenarios play out.

The Yao Guai's only series loss came to Sunshine Tidings. Should the Chemists take out the host Red Rockets, they could clinch the group. Concord and The Slog also play for a 3-2 mark. So, there are four scenarios possible where three teams finish at 3-2 (all assuming an FHE loss; otherwise, only two teams will finish at 3-2 with the series winner taking the tiebreaker).

Scenario 1: Jamaica Plain defeats Sunshine Tidings and Concord defeats The Slog. In this case, FHE would be #1 since they defeated both the Red Rockets and Radstags, and the Rockets would be #2 due to a series win over Concord.

Scenario 2: Jamaica Plain defeats Sunshine Tidings and The Slog defeats Concord. In this case, FHE would be #1 since they defeated both the Red Rockets and Ghouls, and The Slog would be #2 due to a series win over the Rockets.

Scenario 3: Sunshine Tidings defeats Jamaica Plain and Concord defeats The Slog, In this case, all three teams would be 1-1 against each other, meaning best record would come into play. If the Yao Guai were to be swept, they would be the odd team out with the Chemists and Stags taking the two spots. Should all three teams finish with the same overall record, then this scenario would break ties with run differentials.

Scenario 4: Sunshine Tidings defeats Jamaica Plain and The Slog defeats Concord. In this case, the Chemists would be the #1 seed due to series win over both FHE and the Ghouls. The Yao Guai would be the #2 team due to a series win over The Slog.

You know, I guess it's a pretty big milestone (both in and out of universe) to reach 10 seasons. Hope the food stalls have something special planned for this year's offerings ;)

I started thinking about an all-decade team, but that may be better after 10 years of the full CBO since the game does not track league structure changes well. To the OOTP CBO, the league began in 2298. That makes me wish I had started differently, but alas, it is what it is.

In case you're not sure what I mean. I had four separate leagues at first in a League Association format. Then in 2298, I created the CBO league, deleted all the created players from that, and then moved the 24 teams into the CBO. So, to the game, history and stats began in 2298.

For the players, they have stats in 2296 and 2297, but I would have to individually track those stats to have a decent idea of overall success. Therefore, if I do a 10 years of success type story, 2298-2307 would be the best time to easily track those stats. I will, however, consider 2296 + 2297 in deciding HOF worthiness when I open the HOF in the CBO (many, many moons from now based on my pace!).

17 March 2305

2305 Nuka Cup

The Round Robin is now complete with eight teams remaining in the 2305 Nuka Cup Tournament. What we can conclude from this new format is that the best teams tend to find their way to the top, while the teams that have struggled in recent years could not maintain their winning ways. Not to say there were no surprises either at the top or the bottom of the standings. There most certainly were, as you will see below.

Group A - Roxbury

Roxbury and Starlight at the top and maintained that position throughout the group standings.

Since the Rad Sox swept the Lady Killers in their series, Roxbury finishes the Group A standings as the #1 seed from the group, while Starlight will be the #2 seed. The Lady Killer entered the tournament as the fourth seed in Group A.

The Killers and Easy Town ended up switching their rankings with their positions, while both Oberland and Bunker Hill predictably ended up at the bottom of the group.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1701611114

Group B - Nordhagen Beach

The host Party Boys fell behind University Point after a series loss to Lexington, but they took care of business against the Deathclaws to claim Group B. The Claws only series loss came to the Boys, so they will be the #2 seed.

That means that Nordhagen Beach will host Group A's Starlight in the Quarterfinals, while the Deathclaws will visit Roxbury in a heavy South Charles Association clash.

Vault 81, who is expected to be back in the playoff hunt in 2305, was perhaps the biggest surprise in the group, not winning their first series until this week against Egret, which is trending towards being in contention for the #1 overall pick in the 2305 Rookie Draft.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1701611114

Group C - County Crossing

We already knew that the host Bloodbugs had clinched this group. What we did not know is what could happen with there being multiple scenarios in place.

As it turned out, the fifth-seeded Salem Witch Hats emerged as the surprise team, winning three of their series, including the one that counted most, a 2-1 series win over Atom. The Cats needed the Hats to fall to Fort Hagen, which was the surprise sixth-place team in Group C. Some think the Silver Shroud are trending down, but they still have a talented team that surprisingly only won a series against sixth-seeded Quincy.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1701611114

Group D - Jamaica Plain

There were lots of opportunities for chaos in this group, but FHE took care of business against Spectacle Island, helping the third-seeded Yao Guai to clinch the top seed.

The race for second-place, then came on the results of the other two series, with the host Jamaica Plain Red Rockets sweeping second-seeded Sunshine Tidings and the fourth-seeded Concord Radstags handling sixth-seeded The Slog. Due to Jamaica Plain's series victory over the Stags, the hosts earned the second spot in the Quarterfinals.

That means FHE will host Group C's Salem in the Quarterfinals, while the Rockets will travel to County Crossing in a battle of what was almost 2304's Sole Survivor Series.

2305 Top Prospects List

The following is a list of the CBO's top prospects entering the 2305 season. The Slog's 3B Plain Morris is the top overall prospect, followed by LF Ken Debate (Starlight), SP Jalep Temper (Finch Farm), 3B Sun Crockett (Sunshine Tidings), and 3B Hazmatt Zuniga (Jamaica Plain).

2305 Nuka Cup - Quarterfinals

18 March

Three of the four home teams took care of business with the sole exception being the CBO's defending champions falling 4-3 to University Point.

The Deathclaws jumped all over Roxbury starter Gwinnett Southie in the top of the 1st, scoring three of their four runs. Aesed Hayjen, Chris Recore, and Barker Cocoa all led off the game with singles. Hayjen scored on Recore's single after stealing second. Later in the inning, Southie walked Bobb County to score the second run. Bill Chaney then singled in Cocoa. The Claws left the bases loaded but batted nine.

Nordhagen Beach had the day's biggest blowout, 11-2 over Starlight, thanks to a nine-run 4th inning. With Lady Killers starter Jonathan Newman on the mound, the Boys started their one-out rally. Jonathan Angelou and Michael Fogcrawler singled and then Dirty Dog Sapienza walked to load the bases. Mike Swift then singled in Angelou. Aaron Sinn and Pointie Shroud followed with RBO singles, leaving the bases loaded and three runs plated. Pitcher Matt Ranger then hit a two-RBI double, chasing Newman for Ray Human. Maxx Murtagh thanked the pitching change by hitting a three-run blast on the first pitch he saw from Human. Jumper Hayes then made it back-to-back, overcoming his earlier out. After Angelou walked, Fogcrawler was then hit by a pitch, causing a standoff for a couple of minutes. Sapienza singled to reload the bases but the next two batters were out. In all, the Party Boys brought 15 batters to the plate, had nine hits, walked twice, had one player hit by a pitch, and scored nine runs in the inning.

County Crossing and FHE both earned wins thanks to solid pitching. For the Bloodbugs, they used the arm of Urm Rehfeldt, allowing no runs on four hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in 5.2 innings of shutout ball in their 4-1 win over Jamaica Plain. Peak Sizeman was the hero for the Yao Guai in their 4-0 victory over Salem. Sizeman pitched 7.2 innings, allowing three runs, walking three, and striking out five.

19 March

Jamaica Plain and County Crossing had the highest-scoring game on the day, scoring 15 total runs in the Red Rockets' 9-6 victory. It marked the second-straight day that three of the home teams took victory.

The Rockets tied the series 1-1 thanks in part to four home runs and seven overall extra-base hits. Bulleye Shooterson had the most impressive line, going 3 for 4 with a triple, a home run, a walk, two runs scored, and two runs batted in.

Roxbury was able to tie their series 1-1 with a 7-4 victory over University Point. The Rad Sox were powered by a five-run 6th inning to give them the lead for good. With the Claws' Phlip Wallace on the mound and a 2-2 game, Donn Mattingley singled to start the 6th and advanced to second on Young Goodman's fielder's choice. Duncan MacCready then hit a two-run home run for a 4-2 lead. With James Schwerdtfeger replacing Wallace, the Sox continued their offensive. Purple Gupta and Dustin Shotgun both walked. With runners on first and third and two outs, Roxbury starter Nuka Laloosh doubled in both runners for a 6-2 advantage. Deerlord Fugivmee then singled in Laloosh to complete the inning's scoring.

Nordhagen Beach and FHE both won their games and series thanks to outstanding pitching performances. The Party Boys earned a 5-1 run thanks to their ace, Beachboy Nut. Nut allowed one earned run on four hits with two walks and six strikeouts in 8.1 innings. The Yao Guai had an 11-1 shellacking of Salem thanks to Tristan Marble allowing only one earned run on six hits with two walks and seven strikeouts in 6.0 innings. Daddy-O Sixx pitched the final three scoreless innings for the save.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1701660019

20 March

There were two series already clinched but a game left to play. The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys clinched their series, but dropped Game 3 to Starlight, 10-3. FHE clinched but completed the sweep with a 9-3 victory over Salem.

The other two series were tied with the winner moving on to play in the next round. In the first game, of those series rubber matches, Jamaica Plain took a 2-0 victory over County Crossing to clinch a spot in the Semifinals against the Yao Guai.

The Red Rockets' Chris Teddybear threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball, allowing five hits, walking two, and striking out one. T-Bone Heagy and Doug Dee El pitched the final three innings to complete the shutout. The Bugs' Bendy Barman suffered the loss, allowing two earned runs on seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts. The only run given up that mattered was Bulleye Shooterson's 2nd-inning solo home run.

In the final game of the day, the defending CBO champions, the Roxbury Rad Sox, defeated University Point, 6-2, to move on to the Semifinals against Nordhagen Beach. The Sox were powered by a solid performance from College Luckyman who allowed a run on three hits with a walk and three strikeouts in 6.1 innings. Dustin MacCready continued his hot hand, going 3 for 4 with a home run, a run, and two RBI.

It's a shame, but I don't know of any game that really does it better. I think if OOTP had the ability to contract a league without needing to break your back I think there'd be no way to top the tools provided.

I agree. I love what OOTP can do. There are preferences I would have for how some of the game functions, but I can do the vast majority of what I want to do. I have been in on OOTP for many, many years, and I plan to play the game for many more. I currently have 25 years of the CBO planned out, so there are at least 15 more years of this league to go!

Roxbury, Jamaica Plain to Nuka Cup Finals

Both the Sox and Rockets swept their Semifinals series. Roxbury swept Nordhagen Beach, while Jamaica Plain swept FHE. Here's a breakdown of each series.

22 March

Nordhagen Beach 5 at Roxbury 6

In a back-and-forth affair, the Rad Sox scored three runs on a Chris Connexx home run in the bottom of the 7th to claim the first game.

Both starting pitchers, Tommy Beach of the Party Boys (6 earned runs allowed) and Whokill Poole of the Sox (5 earned runs allowed) struggled to keep the offenses in check.

Dustin Mart of the Boys hit two home runs, a two-run shot in the 4th inning and a three-run bomb in the 6th, to be named player of the game.

Duncan MacCready of the Rad Sox went 2 for 4 with two doubles and two runs scored to lead his team's offense.

Jamaica Plain 8 at FHE 7

The Red Rockets took an 8-2 lead into the bottom of the 6th and held off a late surge by the Yao Guai to claim the first game in the series.

Both Bubb Islander and Ayag Mour had three hits apiece for Jamaica Plain to lead their offensive surge. Islander was 3 for 5 with a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI. Mour singled thrice and scored a run.

Chris Deathclaw earned the wins, allowing four earned runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts in 6.1 innings.

23 March

Bulleye Shooterson was 3 for 3 with a walk and two runs scored. Ayag Mour went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI.

Jonathan Abern's 8th-inning RBI double off Rockets' reliever T-Bone Heagy drove in the only run for the Yao Guai.

With the win, Jamaica Plain clinched the series to send them to the Nuka Cup Finals.

Nordhagen Beach 3 at Roxbury 5, 10 inn.

Purple Gupta's two-run bomb off the Boy's David "AntAgonist" Kidd in the bottom of the 10th sealed the game and series for the defending CBO champion Roxbury team.

The Sox took an early 1-0 lead on the Party Boys before falling behind 3-1 in the top of the 4th.

Both Nordhagen Beach's Matt Ranger and Roxbury's Gwinnett Southie surrendered three runs in a starting role.

Both Dustin Mart and Michael Fogcrawler went deep for the Boys.

24 March

Jamaica Plain 7 at FHE 3, 14 inn.

The Red Rockets completed the sweep by defeating FHE in a high-scoring 14th inning.

With the Yao Guai's Daddy-O Sixx on the mound to start the top of the inning, the Rockets started slow but finished fast. After Bubb Islander singled to lead off, Hid Matsumoto grounded into a fielder's choice and Steve Baron struck out. David Driftwood walked and then Bulleye Shooterson singled in Matsumoto for a 3-2 lead. Notorious Fugate then doubled in Driftwood. Ronald Raygun then reached on an error, allowing Shooterson to score for the 5-2 advantage. T-Bone Heagy then hit an RBI single to chase Sixx for Kamal Similton. Dan Ackerman then hit an RBI single for the fifth run scored and a 7-2 lead.

Both Heagy and Will Rope struggled to get outs in the bottom of the inning but eventually only gave up a single run for the final of 7-3.

Nordhagen Beach 4 at Roxbury 5

The Rad Sox scored three runs in the bottom of the 8th to sweep the Party Boys in what could be a 2305 Sole Survivor Series preview.

The Boys' Beachboy Nut took the mound in the 8th with his team up 4-2. Roxbury's Deerlord Fugivmee singled and Chris Connexx walked to start off the inning. Donn Mattingley then hit a three-run home run to give the Sox a 5-4 advantage.

John Irwin then pitched a three-up-three-down 9th to give the Rad Sox the series sweep before they meet Jamaica Plain in the 2305 Nuka Cup Finals.

Roxbury Solid in Start to 2305, Wins Nuka Cup

The Roxbury Rad Sox have started the 2305 season the same way they ended the 2304 season, winning a title, This time, it was the annual preseason tournament, the Nuka Cup.

The Rad Sox swept Jamaica Plain in a rematch of the South Association title series from 2304 to claim the preseason crown heading into a season where the Sox will probably be the favorite to three-peat.

Game 1: Jamaica Plain 0 at Roxbury 6

College Luckyman was red hot on the mound, allowing just one hit in eight innings of shutout ball, as the Rad Sox took Game 1 with ease. Luckyman also walked two batters and struck out eight in dominant performance.

Donn Mattingley led the offensive onslaught with a three-run bomb in the five-run 7th where the Sox pulled away of what was a 1-0 game entering the inning.

Jamaica Plain's Chris Teddybear also pitched well, though he exited the game much earlier than his counterpoint for Roxbury. Teddybear allowed one earned run on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts in 5.0 innings. Matt Breakball was the Red Rockets pitcher to get lit up, allowing five earned runs on four hits, two of them home runs, with a walk and a strikeout.

Game 2: Jamaica Plain 3 at Roxbury 4, 10 inn.

The Red Rockets made a late comeback. but it was not enough as the Rad Sox won the game and the series with a 10-inning win.

The bottom of the 10th inning started out wrong for Jamaica Plain when Doug Dee El struck out pinch hitter Kyle Boohoo, but the ball was out of reach from catcher Ayag Mour. allowing Boohoo to reach first. After Deerlord Fugivmee singled to put runners at first and second, Bloatfly Williams came on to pinch run at second for the possible winning run. Dee El then walked Chris Connexx to load the bases with no outs. Young Goodman then came through, hitting a ball to deep center field, allowing Williams to cross the plate with ease on the sacrifice fly.

Game 3: Jamaica Plain 3 at Roxbury 4

The 2305 Nuka Cup was already clinched, but the two teams were scheduled for three games regardless. In this game, Roxbury exerted its dominance, winning for the second-straight day by a 4-3 score.

The Red Rockets took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st, but the Sox tied the game, 2-2, in the bottom of the 4th on Dustin Shotgun's two-run home run. Roxbury later took the lead in the 6th on rookie Sleve McDichael's two-RBI double. The Rockets later added their final run on Carney Cornseed's solo home run.

1 April 2305

2305 Preview: Roxbury Dynasty

PAM has spoken and her prediction is predictable: Roxbury will beat County Crossing in the 2305 Sole Survivor Series, marking their third-straight CBO title.

There are not a lot of shakeups, but we do see some different picks, including two of the final four dropping in the playoff rankings in 2305.

North Charles Association - Playoff Picks
1. County Crossing
2. Sunshine Tidings
3. Easy Town
4. Concord
5. Nordhagen Beach

The only real playoff change is that PAM predicts Concord in the playoffs to take the place of Fort Hagen. She also predicts the Assaultrons and Party Boys to finish tied with the nod going to Easy Town for the 3rd seed.

The Bloodbugs' Babs Rooth and the Boys' Beachboy Nut are again expected to be the top players in their association. The Slog's Stu Gains and Lexington's Ross Merchantman are expected to be in the running as hitters, while the Bugs' Gavin Eviritts and Sunshine Tiding's Mike Rubric are expected to be in the running as the top pitcher.

South Charles Association - Playoff Picks

1. Roxbury
2. University Point
3. Atom
4. Diamond City
5. Jamaica Plain

The same five teams are all expected to make the playoffs in 2305, though the order is expected to be slightly shuffled in the Minutemen League with the Deathclaws expected to return to the crown. Goodneighbor is picked to be the consensus 24th seed in the CBO, gaining them the #1 overall pick (we'll get to that soon) in the 2305 Rookie Draft.

Barker Cocoa of University Point and Nuke Laloosh of Roxbury are again predicted to be the best at their positions in 2305. The Deathclaws are expected to be offensive juggernauts with both Aesed Hayjen and Tomas Jones expected to be in the mix for best hitter. Atom's Scruffy Taguchi and Diamond City's Sheng Kawolski are expected to be in the running as top pitcher.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1702217778

CBO's Top Prospects

The CBO has numerous talented prospects with hitters dominating the ranks, including having 7 of the top 10 prospects.

Starlight's LF Ken Debate gets the nod as the top prospect in 2305, getting his start with the Warwick Mirelurks of the BMU.

Rookie SS Aaron Squire, the #1 overall pick by Bunker Hill in the 2304 Rookie Draft, will start with the CBO squad, surpassing any minor league work for a franchise lacking overall in top talent.

The third prospect is 3B Plain Morris of The Slog, who will begin the 2305 season with an advancement from the GBRL to the BMU's Boston Common Lead Bellies.

The fourth prospect is our first pitcher: former first-overall pick of the 2303 Rookie Draft, Jalep Temper of Finch Farm. Temper will begin the 2304 season with the BMU's Nahant Shoremen as their ace.

Finally, 3B Sun Crockett of Sunshine Tidings finishes out the Top 5 prospects. He will begin the 2305 season with the CBO team, serving as a backup 3B to Danny Jacomet, though Crockett could find himself starting as some point during his rookie season.

The complete Top Prospects list:

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1702217778
