BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

April Super Post

CBO Preview

It's time for some live Commonwealth Baseball Organization games with just two days until the 2306 season's opening pitch.

For the second-straight season, PAM has picked the Roxbury Rad Sox to defeat the County Crossing Bloodbugs in the Sole Survivor Series. This time, though, PAM expects Sunshine Tidings to be the #1 seed in the North Charles Association.

Let's look first at the predicted playoff teams. First, let's start with the NCA.

North Charles Association - Playoff Picks
1. Sunshine Tidings
2. County Crossing
3. Nordhagen Beach
4. Starlight
5. Easy Town

Other than Starlight making its way into the playoffs in the place of Concord, the other four teams are expected to be the same with a few changes in the Brotherhood League in seeding.

PAM expects County Crossing to return to the top spot in the BL but in a tight spot with just a game advantage over the defending BL and NCA champions, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys. Easy Town is expected to win a one-game playoff if they were to tie with Finch Farm, as PAM expects.

In the Institute League, the Killers are coming on, having amped up their offense which will be needed with perhaps the worst bullpen in the CBO. The Radstags are still good but have some tough battles to get into the 5th spot. Still, the race for 5th is expected to be tight among the Stags, Trons, and Four Leafs.

For team statistics, the Bloodbugs are expected to have the top offense with 681 runs (5.68 runs per game), while the Party Boys are expected to have the best pitching staff allowing 477 runs (3.98 per game). Sunshine Tidings are expected to be the top power team with 202 home runs, while Starlight is expected to be the kings of the basepaths with 78 team steals.

PAM's picks for the top players are County Crossing's RF Babs Rooth and Nordhagen Beach SP Beachboy Nut. Behind Rooth, other contenders for the Nuka Hitter Award are include 1B Oren Gep of Starlight, RF Jonathan Angelou of the Party Boys, RF Baktu DaWell of Sunshine Tidings, and last year's winner 1B Lannie Tykeson of Easy Town. Others expected to compete with Nut for the Vim! Pitcher Award are SP Digger Vadim of the Killers, SP Ugio Church of the Boys, SP College Luckyman of the Bloodbugs, and SP Trolley Dodge of Finch Farm.

South Charles Association - Playoff Picks

1. Roxbury
2. Jamaica Plain
3. Spectacle Island
4. Oberland
5. University Point

PAM believes there will be some major shakeups in the SCA in 2306 with one perpetual playoff team, Atom, falling off and Spectacle Island stepping up in their place. We will take a closer look at both teams later in this article.

In the Minutemen League, Jamaica Plain is expected to edge both the Reapers and defending league champions, University Point. All three of those teams are easily expected to make the playoffs with a down Railroad League. Whether the Deathclaws will allow both the Red Rockets and Spectacle Island remains to be seen, but we think it is an interesting pick. At the bottom of the league, Goodneighbor is predicted to win only 26 games all season, which could put them close to the 100-loss mark. We most certainly hope that does not happen and hope that Commissioner Nate Howard or Interim Commissioner Jimmy LaRue can do something to help their team win a few more games than that. After all, we do not want John Hancock making any public examples of failed baseball staffs.

In the RL, Roxbury is expected to run away with the league once again with Oberland being the only other team expected to finish above .500. Diamond City's time as a powerhouse has looked to finally end with PAM placing them in a tie with FHE for last place. The Swatters are one of the oldest teams in the CBO, so they may need to change their philosophy of protecting their veterans and start moving them for more youth. Luckily for them, they are not in terrible shape in their minor league system. The T-51s have a good balance of youth and veterans though they may need outstanding showings from their pitching staff to actually finish where PAM predicts them to finish. If they cannot do it, both Egret and Vault 81 would gladly take the #4 seed in the playoffs.

As before, PAM expects University Point to have the CBO's most prolific offense with 737 runs (6.14 per game) including the best power offense with 207 home runs. The Ninjas are expected to be the best on the basepaths with 78 steals. Roxbury again returns the best pitching staff with just 439 runs (3.66 per game) expected.

1B Barker Cocoa of University Point and Derek Green of the Rockets are predicted to be the best at their positions in 2305. Behind Cocoa, other contenders are 1B Homestay Lovetap and 3B Diamond Ball of the Reapers, RF Tomas Jones of the Claws, and rookie LF Ken Debate of the Red Rockets, also considered to be the heavy favorite for top rookie honors (StLee note: I believe he is considered a rookie). Others in the running for the Vim! Pitcher Award are SP Nuke Laloosh of the Sox, SP Sheng Kawolski of the Swatters, SP Corey Ware of Spectacle Island, and SP Tim Fusion of Jamaica Plain.

The ML's Ups and Downs

The two biggest turnarounds in the CBO this season are the Spectacle Island Reapers and Atom Cats of the Minutemen League. The Reapers, since their days as the Warwick Mirelurks, have been down on their CBO luck while they have been collecting a ton of young talent like Roxbury did a few years ago. On the other end of the spectrum, the Atom Cats decided that they wanted to reload their talent pool since they have not been able to get over the hump and want to come back strong in the next few years.

First, looking at Spectacle Island, new GM Mover Rodriguez has stated that his team is built to win the CBO in the next few years and every effort will be towards making the team stronger. New manager Logan Gossett agrees.

"We're not looking to build for the future anymore," Gossett said. "This staff is here to convince these players that their time is now."

Owner Patrick Drumlin decided to part ways with GM Dan Dall and Manager Nick Caudill last season, looking to make a culture change in the organization, though Drumlin did maintain the rest of the coaching staff. Caudill's teams showed improvement each year, but Drumlin wanted to make his own hire in that position.

Now, there are few question marks about the talent and only questions about how well they will perform. Especially in drafted upcoming stars, the Reapers have done well in developing their own players and accumulating talent from other teams.

One of those main stars is 2B Diamond Ball, the 1st overall pick of the 2301 Rookie Draft. In two full seasons with the Reapers and one partial season with the Mirelurks, Ball has batted .325 with 74 home runs and 153 RBI. His 40 homers in 2304 led the SCA. He has now been to two straight All-Star games and was the 2305 Red Rocket Rookie Award recipient.

The 3rd-overall pick in the 2302 draft, SS Pipewrench Mathis has now established himself as the full-time starter to solidify the middle of the infield. Following his first season as a full-time starter, Mathis saw his home run numbers climb up to 23. He hit just .232 last season, something he wants to do better at.

Other recent draft picks expected to contribute to the team include SP Quest Dawg (2300 2nd round), CF Gin Kwon (2300 4th Round), and 3B Rico Tub (2302 2nd Round). Two other players who were acquired from Finch Farm in the trade for SP Jalep Temper (2nd overall prospect) include RF Matt Basile and SP Isaiah Swindler.

For Atom, GM Mike Pieface has expressed a mutual decision with owner Zeke Cat to restart their franchise. Though they have made the playoffs the past five seasons, the Cats have not won the Minutemen League and have only advanced to one Sole Survivor Series, where they lost in 2301 to Nordhagen Beach.

Pieface decided that they would benefit from the powers that are Roxbury, University Point, and Jamaica Plain in the SCA to reload their minor league system and then come back stronger in the next few years. That means Atom has moved several good players for top prospects, pushing them up to the 4th-best system in the CBO entering the 2306 season.

One of those players includes up-and-coming prospect, 1B Rival Hey (8th prospect, 80 potential), who was drafted in the 4th round of the 2304 Rookie Draft by The Slog and was acquired in a trade for SP Mike Cartrette, who never pitched an inning for Atom after coming from Fort Hagen. Hey is one of those players new to baseball but has shown flashes of greatness, including hitting ,260 with six home runs and 27 RBI in 88 games with Mass Pike of the GBRL in 2305. Assuming he continues to progress, scouts believe he may be an elite hitter in the CBO one day. He'll start the season with Satellite Array of the GBRL.

Atom also attained Nordhagen Beach's 1st-round pick in the 2305 Rookie Draft, SP Baker Hubbard (55 potential), who is expected to develop into a good pitcher in the CBO. He went to the Boys in exchange for longtime starter Deedee Martinson.

Some other top prospects include LF Figgie Legendsport (71 potential), 1B Ani Waalk (64 potential), 3B Artist Moody (64 potential), 2B Root Beer (63 potential), 3B Bendu Cook (62 potential), and RF Actually Aucoin (57 potential).

The Cats still are loaded in talent in their CBO squad, but Pieface has announced that they are sellers and anyone could be moved for future talent. However, Pieface stated some particular players are in the Cats' future plans. One in particular has been here since the beginning, the 16th-round pick of the 2296 Inaugural Draft.

"(Earthbound) Bussey should just plan to retire in Atom and have his jersey retired," Pieface said.

Minors Rosters Low, 600 Free Agents

With the expansion to three minor league systems and plenty of players eligible to play in the leagues, one would think that the CBO teams would look to bring in lots of players to practice with the main team. However, most teams in the CBO have not yet filled out their GBRL rosters with Opening Day on April 13.

Goodneighbor (45 players), Roxbury (31), Salem (25), and University Point (26) are the only franchises that have filled in a playable GBRL roster thus far. As it stands, there are 645 eligible free agents, including 308 players or about 15 players per team eligible to play in the GBRL as free agents. There are also rumors that there are some independent leagues in the Commonwealth area not at all associated with the CBO, NWL, or Vim!L that could also be asked to fold in favor of sending players to the GBRL for 2306.

No team has expressed why they have been so slow to fill in their GBRL rosters, which allow players ages 16-21 to play. We will monitor roster moves as we get closer to Opening Day in the GBRL to see if teams plan to fill out rosters in that time. If they do not, then the GBRL's standings may look out of whack this season.

StLee 01-15-2024 09:03 AM

I already have to put my dynasty on a short pause to figure out why teams are only carrying 15 players on their GBRL teams despite there being lots of available free agents. When I try to take control of a team, many do not let me sign more free agents, and the ones that I do cut them immediately.

I posted a question on the main page, but I am not sure how to solve this one. I have tried to tweak all kinds of settings. I most certainly do not want to just start filling rosters with players if they are going to get cut by the AI.

Is there a setting to prevent moves at a minor league level? If so, I may have to use that function.

StLee 01-15-2024 11:51 AM

I went ahead and copied my league to sim into the future. As it turns out, the 2306 season has the problem but all teams retain full rosters after the 2306 draft. It looks to be a one-season problem. I wonder if it has any relation to the weirdness of the roster age rules and the AI just was not going to fill rosters in 2306.

Anyway, I shall move on and not let the GBRL situation affect me further.

It looks like from below this was fixed, but could it be the roster settings for the league? You know, the area where it says x position players/x relievers? Sometimes new leagues have funky numbers where it has just 1 reliever so teams stay below the limits.

I checked into it, but teams were inconsistent where some teams overloaded on pitchers and other teams overloaded on position players. With the test league showing that teams will correct their rosters in 2307, I decided to push ahead. So, now it's time to look at the first 1/10 of the season.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

16 April 2306

CBO Analysis

The first two weeks of the season are complete. That means the interassociation matchups are now complete, and we have multiple surprises in those two weeks. For the final 108 games, the CBO matchups are all intraassociation, meaning the North Charles Association teams play each other the rest of the way, as do the South Charles Association. The next time we'll see an NCA vs SCA game will be in the Sole Survivor Series. Until then, let's take a look at our Top 5 and then break down each league in the CBO. Four teams started tied for the CBO's best record, and those are our top four teams.

Nordhagen Beach starts the season as the #1 team, tied actually, but we give them the nod as the defending SCA champions. In their two-week stretch of going 9-3, the Party Boys got wins over University Point (#21), Spectacle Island (#15), Goodneighbor (#24), and Atom (#3) in the Mintumen League, as well as wins over Oberland (#18), Diamond City (#20), Roxbury (#10), FHE (#19), and Egret (#14) in the Railroad League.

Sunshine Tidings emerges as the #2 seed. The defending #1 seed from the 2305 SCA playoffs, the Chemists also have started 9-3 with wins over the Ninjas, the T-51s, the Swatters, and the Rad Sox in the RL and the Hancocks, Deathclaws, Jamaica Plain (#16), Quincy (#11), and Reapers in the ML.

Atom is the first surprise, coming in at #3. The Cats got wins over Easy Town (#4), County Crossing (#13), Salem (#8), and The Slog (#22) from the Brotherhood League and wins over Lexington (#12), the Chemists, Bunker Hill (#23), Fort Hagen (#17), and Concord (#9) in the Institute League.

Easy Town is #4, the second BL team, and the fourth team at 9-3 in the Top 5. The Assaultrons beat the Claws, the Rockets, Quincy, Spectacle Island, and the Hancocks in the ML and the T-51s, the Dwellers, Diamond City, and the Yao Guai in the RL.

Vault 81 comes in at #5 to close out the Top 5, holding an 8-4 record and a one-game lead on the juggernaut Rad Sox. The Dwellers started 5-0 with wins over Starlight (#6), the 75ers, the Silver Shroud, the Radstags, and the Synths in the IL. They then got through some struggles against the BL, defeating both the Ghouls and the Trons.

Brotherhood League

Five of the six teams have started .500 or above, along with the Assaultrons and Boys as we mentioned above. While we do not see either Finch Farm, which has a game this afternoon after a radstorm passed through on Saturday to postpone their game with Diamond City, and Salem staying above County Crossing. But they both have overachieved so far in what could be a good league in 2306. The Slog can keep building its minor league system for future purposes.

Institute League

This league has started out pretty much exactly as we here at BNN expect them to finish with Sunshine Tidings atop all the way to the 75ers at the bottom. Maybe Bunker Hill is better than the 2-10 start they showed, but they will still need to develop pitching to escape being 12th in every pitching category as they currently are.

Teams in this league have flashed that there could be playoff runs, but we would bet the hedges on the Chemists and Killers being there in the end with Concord challenging for the 5th seed.

Minutemen League

Remember how we wrote in our season preview that Atom and Spectacle Island were looking to move in opposite directions in the standings? Well, maybe we should have featured Quincy and the defending champions, the University Point Deathclaws.

Quincy got out to a CBO-best 7-1 start before succumbing to the IL in their last four games. Meanwhile, the Claws have come out as cold as possible (not helped by SP Tony Bertha's injury) to start just 3-9 in their interassociation play. Jamaica Plain also started out cold with just a 507 record.

Goodneighbor may be the biggest story after they have started out 0-12. We already expected them to struggle, but the Hancocks are literally fielding players that are not CBO worthy. They may have some relief if SP Bill Sarnacki can comeback next week from his head injury last October. He will probably be rusty. Otherwise, SP Quincy Eloquent is probably the only pitcher that should start a game for the Hancocks. We will not pretend we know the answer, but there may need to be some HQ interference if the team does not make itself better immediately.

Railroad League

This is a league where we expect there to be movement from just about every position. Roxbury will not remain out of first place for long. Vault 81 has started lights out, but their pitching staff will not hold up this well all season.

Diamond City has been looking old for a while, but they are showing their age so far in 2306 and hope to pull out a win today to finish only 5-7 in their first 12. GM Josh Gillette has supposedly convinced owner Moe Cronin to put some of its aging veterans on the trading block, but it may be too little too late to make the Swattersd contenders anytime soon.

News and Notes: Spectacle Island's 3B Diamond Ball had the best two-day performance we think we have ever seen in CBO history. On April 10, Ball went 4 for 4 with three home runs, three runs, and four RBI in a 10-7 loss to Starlight. Ball then followed that game by going 5 for 5 with two home runs, four runs, and four RBI in a 13-2 blowout of Bunker Hill. In just two games, Ball was 9 for 9 with five home runs, seven runs, and eight RBI! He did not even win Player of the Week.

CBO Players of the Week

April 9 - Baktu DaWell demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award.

The Sunshine Tidings right fielder wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .476 average (10-for-21) with 6 home runs and 13 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor.

It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Donn Mattingley, the Roxbury Rad Sox 25-year-old third baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for South Charles Association Player of the Week honors.

He ripped 12 hits in 24 at-bats, compiling a .500 average with 4 home runs and 12 RBIs.

April 16 - Taygun Topaloglu is respected by most County Crossing Bloodbugs fans for his no-frills style of play. The 27-year-old third baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the North Charles Association Player of the Week honors.

He compiled a .679 average (19-for-28) with 4 home runs, 14 RBIs and 7 runs scored.

His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Homestay Lovetap was rewarded with the South Charles Association Player of the Week honors.

The scrappy Spectacle Island Reapers first baseman hit .429 while collecting 9 hits in 21 at-bats, 5 home runs and 10 RBIs.

Youth League Newcomers

The youth leagues have made some changes and added teams. Of course, those teams have brought over their independent youth players over, but we are looking at today are top freshmen in each league. Let's look at who some of those players are in anticipation of a May start for each league.

BYDL

The OSA has rated 22 newcomers that they consider to be on the CBO watchlist, assuming those players continue to develop on a proper path. Those are a lot of players, so let us grab a few positions and position groups to point out who to look for in the BYDL from 2306-2309 (unless granted early CBO draft eligibility):

SPs - Pitchers typically develop at a slower rate than hitters, but a few starters to keep an eye on are SP Butterass DeCicco of Diamond City, SP Ethan Hammond of Sudbury, and SP Gary Harvard of Beantown. At the moments, DeCicco projects to be on the path to a #3 or #4 starter, so he is not currently considered a 1st-round project in his freshman season. He is a pitcher with a good sinker to start, so let's see first how BYDL hitters do against that pitch.

RPs - OSA has six freshmen rated as being bullpen-capable in the CBO. The top three are CL Slush Fundz of Circle, RP Jimmy Nap of Darwin, and RP Nova Nuker of Hester. Fundz is more of a finesse pitcher who relies on his moving pitches to fool batters.

C - Two catchers are on the watch list for stardom: C Thunder Tom Hamilton of Marlborough and C Salvie Golfer of Wellesley. Both newcomers are power hitters which is rare for the position. However, before they can ever sniff being high picks in the CBO draft, both Hamilton and Golfer need to work on their catcher ability unless they end of moving later to 1B or RF.

1B - Like usual, the player who cannot play defense but can hit the cover off the ball go here. OSA rates 12 players who may or will play 1B as potential future 1st round picks. Four of those have been given the 80 potential ranking as pure 1B for what their bats may bring. Those four in alphabetical order are 1B Jay Gee of State House, 1B Luff Gurr of Avon, 1B Slammin' Sammy Holloway of Fraternal Post 115, and 1B Rin Kay of Braintree.

2B - Two players are on the future watchlist right now: 2B David Bloatfly of Marlborough and 2B Mav Coreburst of South Beach. Coreburst is expected to develop into a power-hitting player who can play any of 2B/SS/3B.

3B - Four players are on the watchlist as 3B: Lone Wolf Leo Gamma-Ray of Beerthirty, Allee Bobbuh of Beantown, Orange Gupta (younger brother of Roxbury SS Purple Gupta) of Diamond City, and Cannonball Chris Peterson of Castle. Unlike his older brother who is a decent contact hitter, Orange Gupta projects to having more pop in his bat.

SS - Teams in the BYDL will want to develop the SS position since there are currently no prospects expected to be top picks. Players like Coreburst may move their eventually, One player that could develop is SS Philip Eilhart of Wattz. Still, he is not considered to have high potential like players at some other positions.

OF - Some of the hard hitters and throwers will develop into RF while the blazers will become CFs. As it stands, there are nine total OFs on the watchlist. We'll list them by projected 2306 main position: LF Aaron Annis of South Beach, LF Bipp Islander of Hester, LF B.B. Raznjatovic of 111, LF Josh Tall of Diamond City, and LF Dashawn Butts of Diamond City; CF Blaine Stabb of Kendall Hospital; RF Doorbell Arg of Concord-Lexington, RF Innis Sark of Spectacle Island, and RF Gremlin T. Squearfish of Beantown.

SCYL

The SCYL is much lower in its number of players. At the moment only one player is on the future 1st round watchlist and five players overall are expected to develop into higher CBO picks in the rookie draft.

C Fuzzy Russianhat of Nauset Beach - Russianhat is a strong catcher who has pop on his bat. He will need to work on his defense, but he a good arm that can throw out youth league runners.

C Jordan Powers of Provincetown - Powers is also a hard-hitting catcher who will need to work on his glove over his arm behind the plate.

RF Samuel Williams of Pawtucket - Williams has the potential to be a good all-around hitter. In tryouts, though, he would swing at every pitch, disregarding placement and some of the analytics of when and where to swing. He looks to be a decent corner outfielder.

LF Enick Atknight of New Bedford - Atknight currently will need to improve on defense to see the field. He will probably be a good pinch hitter his first season with New Bedford, though, which joins from independent youth baseball.

3B Roll Elegy of Truro - Elegy is expected to develop into one of the better power hitters as soon as he finishes filling out. He will need to work on his glove, but he may turn out to be a pretty good hitter over his faults with his glove. Elegy has to take over from current Hatchlings 3B Mercer Frey to see the field, but Elegy is expected to be a better hitter, so he might.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

21 April 2306

League Gets Involved with Goodneighbor

With an unprecedented 0-16 start to the 2306 season, the CBO's front office has gotten involved with the Goodneighbor franchise to help them field a CBO-level team.

The league has decided that it cannot force moves, but it will help the Hancocks to find proper value in its trades, including two suggested trades last night that first-year GM Travis Lawver has agreed to accept.

Interim Commissioner Jimmy LaRue released a statement last night:

"Our goal is to help all teams be profitable and competitive in our league. Through a series of unfortunate moves by the last staff and a run of bad luck, we have offered assistance to Goodneighbor to make them competitive enough to win a few games in 2306.

"We do not want teams to fail at this level, so we are doing our best to ensure that Goodneighbor can be a place where players will seek to play for the franchise in future seasons."

OSA scouts had warned that the Goodneighbor pitching staff was "non-viable" but the results look much worse than that. In 16 games, the Hancocks have been outscored 113-41, or basically 7-2.5 per game.

One unnamed scout weighed in.

"They are not only fielding a bad team but their farm system is not good either," he said. "They have been having the same scout (Jayden Woodward) for every season but some of us other scouts have not seen him at top youth league matchups. I have never seen him at Nuka World or in Far Harbor. He's just absent."

Asked if scouting is a problem for Goodneighbor, LaRue was non-decisive. He stated he was not aware of the accusations.

"We'll look into that, too," LaRue said. "We'll have our OSA team compare notes with Goodneighbor's OSA team. I'll attend a few more games, too, to see what their coaches are up to."

In all, LaRue has declared that the 2306 situation is "not good" for the fans, the team, and the league.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

30 April 2306

CBO Analysis

The first four weeks of the season are complete. While there is a lot we still do not know, there are some things we do know. For example, Goodneighbor, 20 games below .500 only 22 games into the season, will not be in the 2306 playoffs. At this rate, they may not even be allowed in the league in 2307. Really, the Hancocks would struggle against some MML teams right now.

We will break down the Top 5 and take a look at each league to see patterns we are already noticing and pose questions about that which we do not understand.

Sharing the CBO's best record, the Sunshine Tidings Chemists are the #1 team alone in this week's Power Rankings after going 7-3 over the last two weeks tied for the 2nd-best in the CBO over that span. Sunshine Tidings started North Charles Association play with four straight wins, sweeping both County Crossing (#10) and Finch Farm (#11). They then went on a three-game losing streak by being swept at Salem (#5) and losing the first at Nordhagen Beach (#7) before winning the next three with a win over the Party Boys and then a sweep at The Slog (#23).

Coming in at #2 is the other team tied for the CBO's top record, Easy Town. The Assaultrons split at Concord (#19), swept Lexington (#18), swept Bunker Hill (#22), swept Fort Hagen (#17), and then got shut out twice at home against Starlight (#4).

Vault 81 is the only South Charles Association team in the Top 5, coming in at #3. Holding the SCA's best record after a 7-3 record the last two weeks, the Dwellers swept Atom (#9), split with Jamaica Plain (#6) who had the best two-week stretch at 8-2, split at the Cats, split at Quincy (#8), and then swept Goodneighbor (#24).

At #4, we have the Killers as mentioned above. Starlight trails the Chemists by just a game with a 7-3 mark in their last 10. The Killers split with the Witch Hats, swept the Ghouls, split at Nordhagen Beach, split at the Bloodbugs, and then shut out Easy Town in two straight on the road.

Finally, #5 is the Hats. Salem surged into a tie for second in the Brotherhood League with a 7-3 mark the past two weeks. The Witch Hats split at the Killers, split at Fort Hagen, swept Sunshine Tidings, split with Concord, and then swept the Synths.

Brotherhood League

So far in 2306, this has been the top league with five of its teams above .500.

Though they failed to find their offense this past weekend, Easy Town has been handling most opponents they have faced, currently tied for third in runs scored (114) and first in runs allowed (75) in the NCA. All four starters have done well with the change of making 1B/SP Lannie Tykeson (3-1, 3.82) the fourth pitcher to give him more opportunities for at bats from 1B rather than pitcher. SP Major Tom Brennan (4-0, 3.89) has done well as the new ace, as has SP Charred Lee Widemore (3-2, 3.22) and SP Pete Pembroke (4-1, 3.08).

Nordhagen Beach started out as the #1 overall team but waffled in the past two weeks, going just 5-5. That is partially due to LF Michael Fogcrawler (.242/4/11) being out of the lineup with an injury, but he is back. SP Beachboy Nut (3-2, 3.05) pitched back-to-back shutouts to start his season, but struggled in two of his three starts since.

County Crossing is efficient on offense like usual, but their pitching staff has been strangely ineffective so far in 2306, ranking 10th in runs allowed (129) with the 9th Starters ERA (5.60) and the 11th Bullpen ERA (5.46). SP Whip Lashley (1-2, 9.89) has been shellacked, as has SP Bendy Barman (1-4, 6.10).

Institute League

Sunshine Tidings and Starlight are already starting to distance themselves from the rest of the IL with all three of Concord, Fort Hagen, and Lexington tied for third place at four games below .500.

The Chemists are looking to clinch their second-straight #1 overall seed in the NCA, and it looks as though they have the team to do it despite the strange struggles of ace SP Eugene Gym (2-2, 7.29). If Gym finds his footing again, Sunshine Tidings may be the CBO's best in 2306.

We thought Bunker Hill was an up-and-coming team but outside of the surprise success of ace SP David Coocoo (3-1, 3.56; career 26-66, 5.93), the starting pitching has been atrocious with an overall Starters ERA of 6.26, the CBO's worst, even worse than 1-21 Goodneighbor (6.25).

Minutemen League

This is the one league where we are not sure if the current standings reflect anything of how the league will finish. When looking at teams "on paper," as Commissioner Howard likes to say, 1st-place Quincy and 5th-place University Point should be in a switched position.

For the Gunners, they have not been able to score runs, ranking 10th in the SCA with 106 scored. However, their pitching has been good with the 2nd least number of runs allowed (81) and the 2nd-best Starters ERA (3.31). All four pitchers are below 3.70 for the season: SP Glenn Patnode (2-1, 2.92), SP Hollywood Joe Horn (4-2, 3.69), SP Troy Phillabum (3-1, 2.63), and SP/RP Cameron Biehler (1-3, 3.31) who moved from the CL position to start the season as they try Fosdyke Rochambeau (0 SV, 5.79) in that position.

The Deathclaws continue to maul the ball on offense, ranking tied for 2nd with 125 runs scored, but their pitching has been largely ineffective (9th at 127 runs allowed). The injury to SP Tony Bertha (0-0, 2.70) has deeply affected the team with SP Justin Mire (1-2, 12.50) showing just how little pitching depth the Claws have. SP Phlip Wallace (1-4, 6.00) has also struggled in the first month after completing his eight-straight season in 2305 with 11 or more wins.

Railroad League

After finishing in last place in the RL in 2305, no one had expectations for Vault 81 in the 2306 season, just like no one had expectations for Egret in 2305. However, the Dwellers hold a three-game lead over powerhouse Roxbury as we enter league play the first week of April. Vault 81 and the Rad Sox meet for the first time on June 22, so there is a lot of time for the Dwellers to establish their dominance over the rest of the RL, which is mostly struggling, especially Diamond City, which the Dwellers face the next two weekends.

Diamond City is only better than Goodneighbor in the SCA and tied for 5th with FHE. The Swatters are looking every part of being one of the oldest teams in the league, especially its pitching staff where both SP Sheng Kawolski (2-2, 7.22) and SP City Moore (0-4, 7.28) cannot get the outs they are used to. Then again, Moore went from a 16-4, 3.78 mark in 2304 to 5-15, 6.11 last season, so he may just be playing out until he's forced out.

The Ninjas keep doing what they did last season, but they are not finding as much success in the close games. They are even in runs (113-113) and record (11-11), which means they have to get better somewhere to make a return trip to the playoffs in 2306.

We are not really worried about Roxbury and still expect them to run away with the RL. They are 1st in runs scored (126) and tied for 3rd in runs allowed (96), so we expect them to grab a few more victories here and there until they sit firmly atop the SCA as usual.

CBO Players of the Week

April 23 - One of the league's most exciting young players, Aaron Squire of the Bunker Hill 75ers earned himself North Charles Association Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games.

For the week the 19-year-old shortstop had a lofty .611 average (11-for-18), collecting 5 home runs, 10 RBIs and 7 runs scored.

In 2306 Squire has hit at a .344 clip with 22 hits, 8 home runs, 23 RBIs and has scored 12 times.

Harry Byrd of the Vault 81 Dwellers was locked in all week as he bullied the pitchers he faced. Byrd put up some great numbers and hauled in the South Charles Association Player of the Week trophy.

He hit .500 with 3 home runs and 6 RBIs. The 27-year-old first baseman also scored 5 runs and for the week went 9-for-18.

Currently Byrd is batting .455 with 30 hits and 7 home runs. He has knocked in 17 runs and scored 17 times.

April 30 - Sun Crockett demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award.

The Lexington third baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .421 average (8-for-19) with 4 home runs and 6 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor.

This season Crockett has banged out 27 hits in 83 at-bats for a .325 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .394 pace and his totals also include 21 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Diamond Ball, the Spectacle Island Reapers 22-year-old second baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for South Charles Association Player of the Week honors.

He ripped 11 hits in 24 at-bats, compiling a .458 average with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs.

This year Ball has hit at a .402 clip with 24 RBIs, 12 home runs and 24 runs scored.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, Youth Leagues

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

1 May 2306

The May Super Post

CBO Players of the Month

NCA Hitter - It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 23 Baktu DaWell has a lot of baseball ahead of him.

But for now the young Sunshine Tidings Chemists star can enjoy the numbers he put up in April, which have garnered him the nod as the North Charles Association Batter of the Month.

His breakout month featured a .338 average with 14 home runs, 31 RBIs and 27 runs scored.

SCA Hitter - At only 22 years of age, Diamond Ball could very well have many more months like this last one during his career.

That would be great news for fans of the Spectacle Island Reapers, as April was one to remember for the third baseman and he has captured the South Charles Association Batter of the Month award.

On the month he hit .402 with 12 home runs, 24 RBIs and 24 runs scored.

NCA Pitcher - Mike Rubric of Sunshine Tidings had a tremendous April with a 4-1 mark and was chosen the Pitcher of the Month in the North Charles Association.

Rubric restricted opposing hitters to 35 base hits and a .215 batting average. He rang up 29 strikeouts in 45.1 innings of work, surrendered 12 walks, and crafted a 2.18 ERA.

SCA Pitcher - It was a sensational April for Exxie Summerset as he mystified, mesmerized and terrorized opposing batters to capture the South Charles Association Pitcher of the Month trophy.

Summerset locked down a 4-0 mark in 5 starts last month, striking out 28 while walking 11 in 41.2 innings and posting a 1.94 ERA.

NCA Rookie - Youngster Shirt Fowler emerged as the latest North Charles Association Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Lexington deserved the honor, batting .256 with 3 home runs and 9 RBI. Is the month of April a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Fowler enjoy the limelight.

SCA Rookie - Magnum Peaeye earned April's Rookie of the Month honors in the South Charles Association for last month's performance. The boyish Diamond City right fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level.

Peaeye hit .345 with 5 home runs, 18 RBIs and 14 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award.

CBO Statistical Leaders

Two hitters dominating statistical categories in the CBO to start the season are RF Baktu DaWell of Sunshine Tidings and SS Nick Maris of Starlight.

DaWell leads the CBO in home runs (14), RBI (31), SLG (.912), OPS (1.398), runs (27), XBH (17, tied), ISO (.575), OPS+ (242), and wOBA (.546).

Maris leads the CBO in average (.449), OBP (.514), WAR (2.3), hits (40), XBH (17, tied), and WPA (2.60).

Alex Alexson of the Killers and Nuke Laloosh of Roxbury are the two pitchers leading most CBO categories.

Alexson is tops in ERA (1.87), ERA+ (252), and Opp Avg (.187).

Laloosh is the CBO leader in wins (5), IP (49.0), K (40), and BB/9 (1.1)

MMYL Analysis

The Massachusetts Minor League has premiered, replacing the Boston Minor Union as the top minor league in 2306. Early division leaders are the Burlington Ferals (Slog) of the Legend League's Wade Boggs Division, the Lynn Fortune Finders (OBE) of the LL's Matt Murtagh Division, the Natick Big Leaguers (DC) of the Stars League's Ted Williams Division, and the Sandwich Bay Snakes (Rox) of the SL's Carl Yastrzemski Division.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1705589423

MMYL Players of the Month

LL Hitter - Lynn Fortune Finders fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in April.

Forrest Library put up a remarkable month at the age of 21 and has been named the Legends League Batter of the Month.

For the month, Library hit .483 with 8 home runs, 26 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

SL Hitter - Michaelangelo Sandifer mauled enemy pitching all month long as he cruised to the Stars League Batter of the Month title.

Sandifer batted .418 with 15 home runs, 33 RBIs and 27 runs scored in a April performance that has Natick fans eagerly awaiting what he can do in May.

LL Pitcher - The Legends League named the winner of the Pitcher of the Month Award.
It went to Ed Homestead of Cambridge Coursers, who impressed the voters with a glittering 4-0 record in April.

The Cambridge star hurler made 6 starts, allowed 39 hits in 42.1 innings, struck out 40 and had a 3.61 ERA.

SL Pitcher - The Stars League Pitcher of the Month honor has been given to Van Funky of Sandwich for a superlative month.

"I actually never wanted to be a pitcher," Funky told reporters when asked who he credits for his pitching ability. "I was an outfielder until high school and on the third day of tryouts my coach came up and said, 'Son you couldn't hit a lick even if we put it on a tee for ya.' Well, that ticked me off, so I decided if I couldn't hit I wanted to make sure no one else could either and so here I am."

It all turned out for the best as the Sandwich starter notched a 4-0 record with a 1.70 ERA last month. He made 5 starts and struck out 41 in 37 innings.

BMU Analysis

The BMU is now a AA league, meaning it is on the second level of minor leagues for the CBO. League leaders in the Commonwealth Association are the Revere Beach Celtics (Rox) and Covenant Refractors (V81) of the Dark Hollow Pond League and the Mystic Pines Raybathers (OBE) and Woburn Bobbleheads (CC) of the Cambridge League. League leaders in the Massachusetts Association are the Neponset Park Criticals (SAL) in the Downtown Boston League and the Eastlake Aquaboys (County Crossing) and a four-way tie at 4-6 among the Worcester Cannons, Mayoral Shelter Tricentennials, Mass Pike Radroaches, and CGP Demolitionists in the Glowing Sea League.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1705589423

BMU Players of the Month

CA Hitter - Even though he is a newcomer to Boston Minor Union, Handel Alone put up some good numbers in April and earned the CA Batter of the Month award.

He was one of Medford's offensive leaders with a .512 average in 10 games. He also racked up 5 home runs, 15 RBIs, and 15 runs scored.

MA Hitter - For a rookie just breaking in, Chris Munsterman certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the MA Batter of the Month award for April.

The 22-year-old first baseman for the Plymouth Pilgrims hit .400 with 9 home runs, 19 RBIs and 12 runs scored.

CA Pitcher - The Commonwealth Association scribes have selected April's Pitcher of the Month and have awarded the honor to Frank Freeman of Revere Beach. He was outstanding on the hill last month and has the numbers to prove it -- a 2-0 record.

The Celtics star performer made 2 starts with a 1.00 ERA and surrendered 14 hits in 18 innings. He struck out 10 and walked 2.

MA Pitcher - The spotlight today is on Sam Hubble of the Neponset Park Criticals. The relief ace was chosen as the #1 pitcher in the Massachusetts Association for April.

He compiled a 2-0 record and an ERA of 1.84 in 14.2 innings with 9 strikeouts. Hubble nailed down 1 save in 1 save opportunity.

GBRL Analysis

Division leaders are the Taffington Boat Spy Hunters (FF) of the Northeast Division, the Belmont Sneakers (ET) of the Northwest Division, the Poseidon Energy Mongrels (V81) of the Southeast Division, and the Westing Estate Gunslingers (BH) in the Southwest Division.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1705589423

GBRL Players of the Month

NL Hitter - When Paul Jaggers stepped up to the plate in April he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the North League Batter of the Month award.

The young Marblehead first baseman posted a .459 batting average with 8 home runs, 16 RBIs and scored 16 runs. Jaggers also worked pitchers for 10 walks to post a .583 on-base percentage.

SL Hitter - Not known for his offensive prowess, Gussy Busrider set the league afire in April and took home the South League Batter of the Month award.

The Hyde Park catcher posted a steady .444 batting average, 8 home runs, 22 RBIs and 11 runs.

NL Pitcher - The top-rated pitcher this past month in the North League was Closecall Hubb of the Belmont Sneakers. He really dominated league hitters, finishing April with a 3-0 won-lost mark and a 2.25 ERA.

The Sneakers ace made 3 starts and surrendered 24 hits in 24 innings. He struck out 37 and walked 10.

SL Pitcher - Ivan Garza took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the South League Pitcher of the Month award for April.

The 19-year-old Triggermen starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 3-0 won-lost record in 3 starts. This month he fanned 19 batters in 22.1 innings and compiled a 2.01 ERA.

The Roxbury Rad Sox have announced that Arlen Glass passed away. The pre-War ghoul who was co-founder of Atomatoys Products and the owner of the Sox was beginning to show signs of becoming feral. He asked that he be euthanized when that time came. Milton General Hospital took care of the procedure.

The Rad Sox will be temporarily owned by Germ Glowworm, brother of Roxbury mayor Warren Glowworm. Germ has been running the marketing and public relations portion of the franchise since 2296. The CBO will seek a group willing to buy the team this offseason.

Goodneighbor Scouting Director Woodard Banned from CBO

In other unfortunate news, the CBO's investigation found forged documents and impropriety from Goodneighbor Scouting Director Jayden Woodard. Woodard was fired yesterday and permanently banned from working in baseball. He may also be fleeing for his life as he was noticed hastily packing a suitcase and running off from the Hotel Rexford.

According to the report, Woodard had created false scouting reports on players signed. New Hancocks GM Travis Lawver and new manager Nick Pennington had fielded complaints from retained coaches that players' skills did not seem to match their scouting reports. An OSA review found extreme differences in players scouted by Woodard and what their scouts had found.

As an example, one pitcher taken in the 1st round by Goodneighbor was graded by Woodard as a 70+ pitcher with speeds topping 100 MPH. OSA graded him as a late-round pick who would top out as a 4th starter and top pitching speed of 95. That player is no longer with the franchise.

Woodard would not state what he was doing instead of the scouting trips scheduled for youth league games, as well as games in Bradberton and Far Harbor. Witnesses around the league stated that he had never been seen at those games in the entirety of his time as the Goodneighbor Scouting Director. Other scouts from Goodneighbor were also seldom present.

OSA Scout Clawhammer Zimmerman will take over Scouting Director duties in Goodneighbor. Zimmerman has been one of the lead master scouts in the OSA with a good eye for both current and potential ratings. He is expected to allow the Hancocks to make some deals that can make them more competitive for the remainder of the season and in future seasons if he remains with the team. The CBO has promised him a spot back at the OSA should he not be retained by Goodneighbor owner John Hancock.

Nuka News Update

Reporting on the NWL, APL, NWLR, and BBL Leagues

by Evan Guy

7 May 2306

NWL Preview

The 2306 season is about to get underway, and the predictions are in with a prediction of the Victory Cave Crickets versus the Quartz Star Force in the Nuka Series.

The 2302 and 2304 champions, the Cave Crickets are led for the third season by manager Trader Patterson. Patterson won the Nuka Series in his first season, but Victory dropped to 3rd place in the North Bradberton Division last season.

The Cave Crickets are led by SP Jesse Emacipated who is also projected to be the 2306 Nuka Cannon Award winner. He finished 2nd in voting last season. He last won the award in 2302. For his career in the NWL, Emacipated is 57-30 with a 3.46 ERA. That puts him two behind teammate John Diner (59-41, 3.44) for the NWL's all-time wins list.

The top hitter for Victory is LF Petit Frenchman. In his debut season for the Cave Crickets, Frenchman hit .272 with 18 home runs and 42 RBI in 73 games.

Quartz is expected to return for their third Nuka Series. The Star Force won it in 2299, the debut season of the NWL. Manager Night Train Patane returns for his second season with the club after a 42-48 second-place finish in the South Bradberton Division.

The Star Force will be led by their offense, especially two top players in 1B Antonio Toeclaw and 3B Daniel Rousseaux. Toeclaw is the pick to win the Nuka King Award in 2306 in his debut season in the NWL. Toeclaw was traded to Quartz from Salem of the CBO. In 10 seasons with the Witch Hats, Toeclaw hit .248 with 92 home runs and 375 RBI. He is a four-time Top Defender Award winner and a one-time All-Star in the CBO.

In three seasons with the Star Force, Rousseaux has been a . . . force. He led the NWL in Batter WAR and doubles the past two seasons. He also led in hits and runs in 2305.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

14 May 2306

CBO Analysis

We are six weeks into the season, and things are starting to get interesting around the CBO. The Top 5 does not look anything like it had in the past few years, and that may be a good thing. Some teams are already beginning to shave off some veterans for prospects, while a few more teams are looking to make a run. We will break down each league, but first, the Top 5.

Easy Town emerges as this week's #1 after an 8-2 mark in their last ten to take over with the CBO's top record. The Assaultrons swept Sunshine Tidings (#2) on the road, won one of three at Finch Farm (#15), swept Lexington (#22), and then swept the Four Leafs.

Sunshine Tidings is #2 after going 6-4 in their last 10. The Chemists lost two to the Trons, won two of three against the Synths, split at the Leafs, and then swept Lexington to finish this period on a four-game winning streak.

Starlight has been hot, and enter at #3 with a 6-3 mark in the last two weeks, putting them just 1/2 a game behind the Chemists in the Institute League. The Killers won one over Finch Farm with the second game postponed due to a radstorm, won one of three at Concord (#19), swept Salem (#10), and then won two of three against Bunker Hill (#23).

Vault 81 has the SCA's best record and is #4 this week after a 7-3 stretch. The Dwellers swept Spectacle Island (#5), won two of three at Diamond City (#18), split at Jamaica Plain (#11), and then won two of three versus the Swatters.

Spectacle Island rallied to a 7-3 mark, now tied atop the Minutemen League with Quincy for first place. The Reapers are the #5 team, having lost two to the Dwellers before sweeping at University Point (#13), splitting with Oberland (#12), and then sweeping Goodneighbor (#24).

Brotherhood League

The BL continues to show that it is a tough league, although Finch Farm dropped a game below .500 to leave only four teams above .500.

Easy Town is starting out better than it did in 2305 when they held a lead on the BL for a good chunk of the season before being surpassed by Nordhagen Beach. The Trons are looking good, though, with the CBO's best record, the best two-week stretch, and the current longest winning streak of five games.

The Party Boys and County Crossing are in a battle with Salem about which team is second. The Boys hold a one-game lead over both teams and will look to find more success now that LF Michael Fogcrawler (.236/6/14) has returned to the lineup. The Bloodbugs seem to be the best of the three, though their pitching has struggled a lot in the first 32 games.

Institute League

This league appears to be a battle between Sunshine Tidings and Starlight with no other team seeming to be playoff capable.

Fort Hagen has emerged recently as the third-best team, though being without SP Chris Teddybear (0-0, 2.70) has probably hurt their chances for the playoffs. If the Silver Shroud are still hanging around when he returns in July, then they may have a shot.

Minutemen League

We mentioned in the last update that we were not sure if the standings would match the final results, and now we are definitely sure. Quincy and Atom were atop the ML but have struggled of late, making this league a true five-team race with Spectacle Island and Quincy leading fifth-place University Point by just three games.

Jamaica Plain is our team to look out for taking over the ML. Trailing by just one game, the Red Rockets' offense has been underperforming so far this season. If a few of their good hitters like C Ayag Mour (.268/4/15) and 3B Notorious Fugate (.171/1/5) can break out of their slumps, the Rockets may be able to outscore opponents. Additionally, SP Derek Green (3-5, 5.50) has been strangely inefficient in his new home. The Rockets are hoping the two-time Vim! Pitcher Award winner returns to his usual form.

Railroad League

Vault 81 continues to hold their own, maintaining a four-game lead over Roxbury for first place. The Dwellers have been statistically dominant by being second in the SCA in runs scored (184) and first in runs allowed (108). 1B Harry Byrd (.430/10/33) may be on his way to a Nuka Hitter Award if he keeps it up, and SP Exxie Summerset (7-0, 2.16) is well on his way to the Vim! Pitcher Award.

The Rad Sox made a few questionable moves to drop current talent for some future talent, and that has cost them most in the pitching staff. While good, the Starting ERA of 4.09 (3rd in SCA) is nowhere near where they were in recent years.

CBO Players of the Week

May 7 - Babs Rooth of the County Crossing Bloodbugs put the finishing touch on an exceptional week of play by being named the North Charles Association Player of the Week.

He rocked the opposition with a .474 batting average, 9 hits in 19 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 RBIs while scoring 8 times.

In his stats this season, Rooth has posted a batting average of .336 with 36 hits in 107 at-bats, 14 home runs and 32 RBIs. He has also scored 28 runs, walked 16 times and compiled a .423 OBP.

His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Judas Stoner was rewarded with the South Charles Association Player of the Week honors.

The scrappy Spectacle Island Reapers left fielder hit .421 while collecting 8 hits in 19 at-bats, 5 home runs and 9 RBIs.

Thus far in 2306 Stoner is hitting .215 with 9 home runs, 16 RBIs, 16 runs scored and has compiled a .321 OBP.

May 14 - North Charles Association pitchers tried and tried all week long to stop Glenn Higinbotham, but to no avail.

His eyes would light up when he came to the plate and he hit everything in sight, batting .571 for the week to win the NCA Player of the Week Award. The Starlight center fielder cracked 12 hits in 21 at-bats, 4 home runs, drove in 12 runs and scored 8 times.

Higinbotham is presently hitting at a .294 pace with 8 home runs and 29 RBIs. He has played in 31 games and scored 22 times.

It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Rick Pickle, the Egret Ninjas 25-year-old right fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for South Charles Association Player of the Week honors.

He ripped 12 hits in 19 at-bats, compiling a .632 average with 3 home runs and 5 RBIs.

Presently Pickle is hitting .300 with 6 home runs and 24 RBIs. He has played in 32 games and scored 16 times.

Smith MVP of 2306 MYL All-Star Game

All-Star Far Harbor Dockdwellers' shortstop Diet Smith had a night to remember.

Not only did he take the field with the game's best players, he was also a huge factor in the 3-0 Mount Desert Island Four victory over the Great Diamond Island League All-Stars.

"We had a meeting before the game, and I was struck by the talent in the room. Old stars, young stars, it's a game I'll never forget," Smith said. "I talked to a few of my friends from back home, and they told me to go out and win the game for them. I'm sure they'll be thrilled."

In his career, Smith is hitting .210 with a total of 14 home runs.

MYL All-Star Rosters

Nothing is for certain about the 2306 Maine Youth Leagues All-Star Game. It might be dominated by top-notch pitching performances. Or it could turn into a home run derby. Who knows? Pitch by pitch, inning by inning, the game could feature a little of both -- six strikeouts in a row by a nasty southpaw -- or a 3-homer day for some superstar slugger -- plus great catches, thrills, chills and spills -- all the great and the unexpected things that can happen in a baseball game.

This year, the Mount Desert Island Four will be represented by these All-Star performers:

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

14 May 2306

CBO Analysis

We have now reached the quarter mark of the season, and this may be our favorite season yet. This season looks to hold plenty of surprises, including the potential changing of the guard, though some of those elite teams are still hanging around waiting for their chance to shine and take over. We will break down each of the leagues and look at how the races are shaping up. Below, let's look at the quarter-mark playoff seeding and then venture through the Top 5 which includes some shakeups.

NCA Current Seeding: 1. Easy Town, 2. Starlight, 3. Sunshine Tidings, 4. County Crossing, 5. Salem

SCA Current Seeding: 1. Vault 81, 2. Spectacle Island, 3. Roxbury, 4. Jamaica Plain, 5. Quincy

This week's #1 team is the Starlight Killers who are just a half-game back of the CBO's best record. The Killers went 6-4 in their last 10, splitting with County Crossing (#6), winning two of three at Sunshine Tidings (#3), splitting at Finch Far, (#13), and then winning two of three over the Chemists.

The team in possession of the CBO's best record remains Easy Town, but they went just 4-6 in their last 10 to drop to #2. The Assaultrons got swept by Bunker Hill (#21), won one at Nordhagen Beach (#10), split at the Chemists, and won two of three over The Slog (#23).

Sunshine Tidings is the third NCA team in the Top 3, just one game back of the Assaultrons and a half-game back of the Killers. The Chemists went 5-5 the past two weeks with a win over Salem (#9), won one against the Killers, split with the Trons, and then won one at Starlight to fall out of first place in the Institute League.

Roxbury comes in at #4, trailing Vault 81 by just one game in the Railroad League. The Rad Sox went 7-3 the past two weeks, tying County Crossing, Concord, and Jamaica Plain for the best two-week stretch in the CBO. The Sox split with Spectacle Island (#7), won two of three in Diamond City (#20), won two at Quincy (#12), and then beat the Swatters twice.

Vault 81 completes the Top 5 despite a 4-6 mark the past two weeks. The Dwellers split with University Point (#11), got swept at Oberland (#15), split at the Deathclaws, and won two over Egret (#17).

Brotherhood League

Easy Town is still holding on atop the BL, but County Crossing is getting hot to pull within three games. Nordhagen Beach has been hot and cold, including dropping the series at Salem this past weekend to fall into a third-place tie with the Witch Hats. Finch Farm continues to hover around .500, but they will need to get much better to compete for a playoff spot.

A quick glance at the Hats show that they may be fool's gold (that means not as good as their record indicates). They are currently 8th in the NCA in runs scored (197) and 8th in runs allowed (207). Where they have been outstanding is one-run games where they have won a CBO-high 10 games, going 10-2 overall. Salem has also been good at home, going 15-7 overall.

Institute League

This is still a two-team race with the Chemists and Killers battling for the top seed. No other team has established that it can compete for the IL title nor a wildcard spot.

Both Lexington and Bunker Hill have started to put out feelers for trades of their veterans, meaning that both teams may have already surrendered in just the second month of the season. We can see those two teams being highly active as we play into July, though they have not made any steady moves.

For the Synths, they do have decent talent but have some veterans struggling this season: RF Crooked Tostado (.242/3/15), CF Millioncap Go (.206/5/18), and SP Aaron Somer (3-6, 5.04).

Minutemen League

There are still five teams within four games of fourth place, and Goodneighbor has finally started to win at a decent clip since the CBO interfered and forced some immediate trades.

The Hancocks have put just about everyone on the trading block but there may not be much demand for their players. CL Mike Woodrow (7 SV, 8.59) could help a bullpen in need, but he has not looked very good at 34 years old.

For University Point, SP Tony Bertha (0-0, 2.70) should be back from his rehab assignment in Graygarden sometime next month. That would certainly help the Claws' cause since they are 9th in runs allowed (221) and 10th in Starters ERA (5.38). At 3.5 games back, Bertha could help boost the Deathclaws back atop the ML.

Railroad League

Like the IL, the RL appears to be a two-team race. Vault 81 may not have the talent to hold off Roxbury, so the Dwellers may be playing for the 3rd or 4th seed in the playoffs.

Oberland and Egret are both around .500 and could play for the 5th seed if either can propel themselves ahead of some of the ML teams. The T-51s are getting solid performances from C Racky Westheim (.383/1/13), SS Stormin Norman MacDonald (.320/3/15), and 1B Chase Doctorman (.306/12/33) but still need others to step up. SP Ronnie Messenger (6-1, 1.99) has been great but the rest of the starting pitching has not been.

CBO Players of the Week

May 21 - Baktu DaWell has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 24-year-old right fielder of the Sunshine Tidings Chemists had a hot bat in the North Charles Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors.

DaWell batted .444 with 8 hits in 18 at-bats, 5 home runs and 14 RBIs.

This season DaWell is batting .353 with 21 home runs. His totals include 53 RBIs and 38 runs scored.

The hottest bat of the week belonged to Roxbury center fielder Ben Pawlak.

He went on a rampage last week against SCA hurlers and rapped out 10 hits in 19 at-bats for a .526 average while hitting 3 home runs, driving in 8 runs and scoring 6 runs -- numbers quite worthy of the South Charles Association Player of the Week trophy.

Pawlak was honored today at a press conference.

On the year Pawlak has hit .366 with 11 home runs, 44 RBIs and scored 33 runs.

May 28 - Base McAndrews went on a hitting spree last week against North Charles Association pitchers and today copped the Player of the Week Award.

The Finch Farm Four Leafs center fielder peppered the opposition with 12 hits in 21 at-bats, 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 5 runs scored. In the last 5 games he hit .571 with an on-base percentage of .571.

In 41 games this season McAndrews is batting .260 with 39 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 12 runs and driven in 9.

Last week Carney Cornseed was the toast of Jamaica Plain and the talk of the South Charles Association -- this week he's the SCA Player of the Week.

The standout first baseman sewed up the award with his .500 average (10-for-20), 4 home runs, 11 RBIs and 8 runs.

Thus far this year Cornseed has hit .312 with 11 home runs and 31 RBIs.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, Youth Leagues

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

1 June 2306

The June Super Post

CBO Players of the Month

NCA Hitter - Donny Kowalski battered North Charles Association pitchers all May and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award.

"I've been around Commonwealth Baseball Organization long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 28-year-old Kowalski told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month."

In 22 games, Kowalski hit .447 with 7 home runs, 25 RBIs and scored 23 runs.

This year Kowalski is hitting .337, produced 43 RBIs and 13 home runs, scored 39 times and gotten on base at a .422 rate.

SCA Hitter and Rookie - Judas Stoner has a lot going for him. The Spectacle Island left fielder just broke into the majors this year and now the South Charles Association has just picked him as its top hitter for May.

In 22 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .341 with 15 home runs, 28 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

Batting .256 to date, Stoner has 19 home runs and 35 RBIs.

NCA Pitcher - The best pitcher this past month in the North Charles Association was Eugene Gym of the Sunshine Tidings Chemists. He really razzle-dazzled league hitters, finishing May with a standout 4-0 record and 1.35 ERA.

The Chemists hurler made 5 starts and surrendered 31 hits in 40 innings. He struck out 36 and walked 13.

Checking out his stats for the year, Gym has racked up 6 wins and 2 losses in 11 starts, posted a 4.05 ERA, and struck out 57 batters in 73.1 innings.

SCA Pitcher - It's official!
Quest Dawg of the Spectacle Island Reapers is the South Charles Association Pitcher of the Month. In May he dominated the league with 5 wins and 1 loss in 6 starts. In 43.2 innings of work Dawg chalked up 29 strikeouts, 16 walks, a 2.89 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .195 batting average.

So far this season Dawg has a 7-2 record, 11 starts, 75 innings, 54 strikeouts and a 3.96 ERA.

NCA Rookie - Shirt Fowler is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest North Charles Association Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers.

In May the Lexington hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .356 average with 31 hits, 4 home runs and 9 RBIs.

So far in 2306 Fowler is batting .308 with 7 home runs, 18 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has 52 hits in 169 at-bats and a .398 OBP.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1705772644

MMYL Players of the Month

LL Hitter - May is a month Purple Gonzales will no doubt remember for quite some time to come.

The 22-year-old Lynn catcher came through all month long for his club and has won honors as the Legends League Batter of the Month.

His standout month saw him put up a .349 batting average, with 9 home runs, 22 RBIs, 19 runs scored and a .421 on-base percentage.

This year Gonzales is hitting .349 with 9 home runs.

SL Hitter - Justin Loki couldn't stop smiling during the month of May. That's because he simply couldn't stop hitting and his performance vaulted him to honors as the Stars League Batter of the Month.

The Eastlake right fielder hit .316 with 13 home runs, 32 RBIs and 17 runs scored.

This season Loki is hitting at a .294 pace with 20 home runs, 50 RBIs and has scored 29 times.

LL Pitcher - An outstanding 5-1 record in May earned Goody Two Shoes Robertson the Pitcher of the Month Award in the Legends League. When his name was penciled in to start on the Nahant lineup card, it meant trouble for opposing teams.

In 51.2 innings of work, Robertson limited opposing batters to 41 base hits and a .210 batting average. He notched 35 strikeouts, issued 13 walks and had a 1.74 ERA.

His record for the year is 7-1 in 10 starts and Robertson has a 1.61 ERA.

SL Pitcher - Which Stars League hurler dominated in the month of May?
According to the voters who decide the Stars League Pitcher of the Month award, it was Chad Sweet of the Wellesley Wanderers.

He put together a record of 4-0 with an ERA of 2.11 in 5 starting assignments. In addition, he struck out 36 in 38.1 innings.

To date this year, Sweet shows a 5-4 record, 10 starts, 68.1 innings, 70 strikeouts and a 4.21 ERA.

BMU Analysis

League leaders in the Commonwealth Association are the Medford Medics (Good) of the Dark Hollow Pond League and the Mystic Pines Raybathers (OBE) of the Cambridge League. League leaders in the Massachusetts Association are the Neponset Park Criticals (SAL) in the Downtown Boston League and the Worcester Cannons (FtH) and Mass Pike Radroaches (SLOG) in the Glowing Sea League.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1705772644

BMU Players of the Month

CA Hitter - Zaire Inquisitor made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the Commonwealth Association this past month.

The Mystic Pines Raybathers center fielder shined through the month of May and has won the Batter of the Month award.

The 20-year-old hit .456 with 5 home runs, 21 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

MA Hitter - Dominant Phillips is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Neponset Park first baseman joined that select company when the Massachusetts Association announced the results of May's voting.

Phillips totaled 33 hits, 12 walks, 10 home runs, 35 RBIs and 17 runs scored last month to put together a .393 batting average and .474 on-base percentage.

CA Pitcher - Bill Little left little doubt in the minds of Commonwealth Association officials that he should be named May's Pitcher of the Month for his outstanding performance.

"I wasn't always confident at the start of a game," said Little. "Sometimes it's hard to get into the flow -- the calls aren't going your way or you're trying to spot your pitches too much. You just have to relax and use what you've been taught all your life -- get back to basics -- good mechanics, control, location, keep the ball down."

The 28-year-old tossed 30.2 innings of quality baseball -- going 4-0 with a 2.05 ERA and 23 strikeouts.

MA Pitcher - Buckweld Shepherd of the Mass Pike Radroaches strung a bunch of high quality starts together in May to earn the Massachusetts Association Pitcher of the Month trophy.

For the month he finished with a superlative 3 wins and no losses and a 2.73 ERA. The Mass Pike star started 5 games, pitched 26.1 innings and struck out 24.

GBRL Analysis

Division leaders are the Med-Tek Eyebots (Quin) of the Northeast Division, the Belmont Sneakers (ET) of the Northwest Division, the Poseidon Energy Mongrels (V81) of the Southeast Division, and the Roadside Pines Cosmos (Obe), Fiddler's Green T-60s (Sal), and Westing Estate Gunslingers (BH) in the Southwest Division.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1705772644

GBRL Players of the Month

NL Hitter - What does a .462 batting average, 13 home runs, 41 RBIs, 34 runs scored a .560 on-base percentage get you?

Honors as the North League Batter of the Month, evidently.

Jim Fry was given the award today for a campaign that saw the Belmont Sneakers left fielder lead all other hitters.

SL Hitter - Scott Back got another reason to celebrate today as he followed up a great month of May at the plate by winning the South League Batter of the Month Award.

During the month the Westing Estate first baseman hit .410 with 13 home runs, 35 RBIs and 23 runs scored.

NL Pitcher - A bullpen specialist was picked as the #1 pitcher in the North League in the month of May.

The top vote-getter was Curt Kracke of the Corvega Flamers, who finished the month with 6 saves in 6 save opportunities.

He had 3 wins and no losses with a 0.00 ERA. Kracke hurled 10.2 innings and totaled 20 strikeouts.

SL Pitcher - When Pokey Chatman takes the mound, a Roadside Pines victory is usually the result. That was the case in May.

That's why he was voted the South League Pitcher of the Month.

Chatman throttled league hitters the whole month with an impressive 5-0 mark and 0.82 ERA in 5 starts. The Cosmos star hurler also rung up 51 strikeouts in 43.2 innings.

BYDL Analysis

Division leaders are:

NR Benjamin Franklin Division - Concord-Lexington Minuteboys

SR Samuel Morse Division - Thompson Heights Earthlings
SR Crispus Attucks Division - Spectacle Island Specters

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1705772653

BYDL Players of the Month

NR Hitter - David Bloatfly may be much younger than other hitters in the North Region, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in May to win the Batter of the Month award.

The 15-year-old Marlborough second baseman hit .429 with 16 home runs, 40 RBIs and 27 runs scored.

SR Hitter - Hot-hitting center fielder Missile Crews of the Atomatoys really pounded South Region pitchers in May, winning the Batter of the Month award.

He hit .380 with 12 home runs, 22 RBIs, 27 runs scored and 13 walks to finish with a .457 on-base percentage.

NR Pitcher - When Paul Stains takes the hill, he usually takes command of the game -- at least that's the way it was in May. The outcome was usually a North Charles Bank victory. His fine 5-0 performance earned him the North Region Pitcher of the Month trophy.

The talented Goonies hurler made 6 starts, worked 48.2 innings, permitted 39 base hits, and struck out 72 while putting up a 2.22 ERA.

SR Pitcher - In May Weymouth starter Clubhouse Treelover confused hitters all month long. Last month's South Region Pitcher of the Month took home the trophy as he collected a 6-0 record in 6 starts.

The 16-year-old Treelover added 68 strikeouts in 45 innings and 9 walks to his season record and compiled a 2.80 ERA. Other clubs hit .251 against him.

SCYL Analysis

Division leaders are the Eastham Rads and Provincetown Land Pirates of the Cape Cod Bay Division, the Chatham Lighthouse of the Nantucket Sound Division, the Pawtucket Paw Sox and Woodlawn Red Clay of the Seekonk River Division, and the Seekonk Quahog of the Naragansett Bay Division.

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1705772653

SCYL Players of the Month

CCL Hitter - Wilde Game of the Eastham Rads recorded a .387 batting average in May. His hitting spree racked up the Cape Cod League Batter of the Month award for his trophy case.

The Eastham right fielder battered opposing pitchers all month, accumulating 11 home runs, 33 RBIs and scoring 30 runs.

PL Hitter - In May, Zero Nought swung a sweet bat and put together a solid month to win the Providence League Batter of the Month.

The Pawtucket third baseman batted .446 with 9 home runs, 36 RBIs and 27 runs scored.

CCL Pitcher - Sebastian Brakefield really strutted his stuff in May with 6 wins and 1 loss and walked off with the Pitcher of the Month Award in the Cape Cod League. The Truro starter was good news for his club, but bad news for the opposition.

In 50.2 innings of work, Brakefield limited opposing batters to 42 base hits and a .221 batting average. He totaled 60 strikeouts, issued 11 walks and had a 2.13 ERA.

PL Pitcher - The Pitcher of the Month Award has been announced and the Providence League winner is Woodlawn hurler, Eddie Housey. For his fine efforts in May he has been named the league's #1 pitcher.

During the month, Housey excelled with a 2.50 ERA and 6 wins and no losses. In 50.1 innings he struck out 31 and gave up 39 hits and 9 walks.

Been busy, hadn't been able to catch up until now. I'd of course make my yearly post agreeing/disagreeing with PAM, though again as of late we seem to be seeing more eye to eye, but also of course you've moved past that point so we can see how those predictions shape up. I guess the big point is Goodneighbor, real shame how they started. Lo-key always a team I've been interested in, as besides Diamond City it's one of the most "town-like town" locations in the game, even if they're idea of how to run a town is, unique, to say the least haha.

I'm powering through the season as much as possible before I get too busy and have to post occasionally. Things have not ramped up yet, so I have been posting pretty much every day for awhile. That may be good or not, I'm not sure. I do know I need to add a few more stories to my other dynasty before it merges with this one, so I have been trying to speed the baseball along and then find time for my creative endeavours.

BNN Weekly Report

This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues

by Nat Wright-Kawolski

11 June 2306

CBO Analysis

And just like that we have seen some shakeups with two new teams in first place in the South Charles Association. If you guessed these teams look familiar to past seasons, you would be right. With every team now playing at least 50 games, there appears to be only one spot in the entire CBO where there may be jostling for which teams make the playoffs. Otherwise, we have a good guess about what we may see in mid-September. Let's take a look at the Top 5.

With the CBO's best record, Easy Town is this week's #1 after an 8-2 stretch, tied for second-best in the CBO. The Assaultrons split with Concord (#18), swept Nordhagen Beach (#11), swept Bunker Hill (#22), and then won two of three at Salem (#10).

Sporting the CBO's longest current win streak of 12 straight and propelling themselves atop the Minutemen League, the defending champion University Point Deathclaws is this week's #2. The Claws swept all of Diamond City (#19), Jamaica Plain (#8), Vault 81 (#7), and Quincy (#21).

The Starlight Killers are #3 after a 6-3 stretch over the past two weeks. They now have two games to make up later due to radstorms. Starlight has a sweep over The Slog (#23), one of three at Fort Hagen (#13), a split at the Ghouis, and winning two over the Silver Shroud with yesterday's game radstormed out.

Tied atop the Institute League with the Killers, Sunshine Tidings is the #4 team. The Chemists went 7-3 in their last 10 with a split against the Party Boys, two of three over the 75ers, a split at County Crossing (#6), and a sweep at the Radstags.

Having taken over first place in the Railroad League, Roxbury is now #5 after an 8-2 stretch, putting them one game up. The Rad Sox swept Atom (#17), won one of three over Egret (#14), swept the Cats again, and the swept the Ninjas.

Brotherhood League

With a 4-6 mark the past two weeks, the Party Boys are now in 4th place, eight games behind Easy Town for 1st place. We mentioned above that only one playoff team seems yet to be determined 50 games in, and this one is it. With the Boys currently out of the playoff picture, we expect that there will be some action to rise back to the top.

For the Trons and the Bloodbugs, there seems to be a shift in power for them to battle out for spots 1 and 2 in the BL. Easy Town has been impressive all year, with a slight dip in their May winning percentage (.590) between their outstanding April (16-6) and June (7-1). 1B Lannie Tykeson (.359/17/50 ; 8-1, 3.88) is definitely the CBO's best player. This team is good and may need to upgrade slightly maybe one or two positions to remain in the title contender talk.

Institute League

Starlight and Sunshine Tidings are both fighting for first place, but they continue to distance themselves from the rest of the IL. The Stags were the 3rd place team but went 3-7 in their last 10 to drop into a tie with Fort Hagen. Lexington and Bunker Hill are just not good.

Minutemen League

With the Claws climbing the ladder from 5th to 1st in a two-week span, the ML is starting to look how we thought it would with University Point, Spectacle Island, and Jamaica Plain to be in position for the playoffs and Atom, Quincy, and Goodneighbor to start preparing for selling in July.

The Deathclaws are not yet dominating, with four of their ten wins the past two weeks only being by a run. Other than the Gunners scoring 5 and 8 runs, only one team, the Rockets, scored more than three runs in a game in that stretch. That shows that University Point is starting to get its pitching in order while the offense remains dangerous. The return of ace Tony Bertha (2-0, 1.45) had something to do with that. That takes a lot of pressure off the rest of the pitching staff so that Phlip Wallace (5-5, 4.36), Wilson Beachball (6-4, 4.94), and Bow Rome (3-2, 4.52) can get their own pitching performances back in order.

Railroad League

It was only a matter of time before Roxbury returned to the top, and we doubt they will give up that position. For Vault 81, they are now in 2nd place, but they are 8 games up on Oberland and Egret, meaning they are on a good path to get the 3rd or 4th seed in the playoffs.

For the Sox, they are now 1st in runs scored (319) and runs allowed (195) in the SCA, by far a CBO-best +124 in run differential. The Chemists are 2nd at +99. One outlier in their performances was the June 2 game against Egret where the Rad Sox won 24-8, having inning scores of 5, 4, 11, and 3 in that game.

CBO Players of the Week

June 4 - The North Charles Association has selected its Player of the Week. The honor went to Dan Squirrel, right fielder of the Easy Town Assaultrons.

In a standout performance, he lit up the league with a .478 average to win the award. Squirrel went 11-for-23 for the week, totaled 3 home runs with 11 RBIs and scored 7 times.

This year Squirrel is batting .319 with 59 hits and 9 home runs. He has scored 46 times and has batted in 28 runs.

His lightning swing and solid bat took the South Charles Association by storm. All week Stuart Costantino of the Spectacle Island Reapers shocked opponents with an electrifying performance to capture the South Charles Association Player of the Week honors.

The talented catcher sparked his team by hitting .529 with 1 home run, 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Costantino is currently hitting at a .286 pace with 3 home runs, 20 RBIs and has scored 16 times.

June 11 - Jonathan Angelou of the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys had a fantastic week and today was voted the Player of the Week by the North Charles Association.

For the week Angelou batted .556 (10-for-18) with 5 home runs and 11 RBIs.

Currently Angelou is batting .302 with 20 home runs and 45 RBIs.

Barker Cocoa of the University Point Deathclaws cruised to South Charles Association Player of the Week honors after putting together one of the finest stretches in his career last week.

The first baseman batted .556 (10-for-18) with 3 home runs, 10 RBIs and 8 runs scored.

Cocoa is hitting .368 so far this season with 52 RBIs and 54 runs scored. He has 64 hits including 17 home runs, 64 walks and .531 OBP.

Don't worry about me. It's more this blizzard keeping me busy, don't know if you down there in the South can really know what it's like haha. Ironically youtube has been recommending me ambient videos of Fallout 4 set to rain/snow, and it appears to be a whole genre, kind of weird, but with some of the settlements on display it does make me think of your series here.

Vim! League

Dalton Farm has been nearly unstoppable so far this season, holding a 27-3 record, which included a 19-game winning streak after starting 1-2. After losing that streak in a 10-inning loss to National Park, the Fog Crawlers have now won their last seven. Dalton Farm is likely to play in its fifth-straight Vim! Series while seeking its fourth-straight title.

If the season ended today, the Crawlers would face the Grand Hotel Atoms, which hold a 3.5-game lead over Far Harbor.

MDIL

Brooke's Head (Far Harbor) and Haddock Cove (Grand Hotel) both hold one-game leads in their divisions.

VRL

The Vim! Factory Pops and Longfellow Pips each lead their divisions as we reach the All-Star break.

The Far Harbor Dockdwellers have already clinched the Mount Desert Island Four League for the first time since 2301. They will face either Echo Point, seeking their fourth-straight Great Diamond Island League title, or the Sunset Park Anglers. Those two teams are tied with three to play. They face each other in Sunset Park today. Last season, the Glowers defeated Cliff's Edge in the Maine Youth Series.
