Rad Sox are on the list of teams "I like" too, if purely for the name, that pun never gets old. I feel as if they get away with it because the Swatters let them, for fairly obvious reasons. We need a big rivalry. There's just so many good rivalries that form naturally in this series.
Also I chucked at the fight headline. |
There have been some good rivalries happening over the years, but I do not feature them enough. I wish that OOTP had a lifetime record versus opponent feature. For now, I just base rivalries on two factors: Geography and Playoff Success.
There is the obvious one of Nordhagen Beach and Fort Hagen facing off in the playoffs multiple times over the years. Recently, that has shifted to the Boys and County Crossing battling for the BL and in the playoffs. In the SCA, University Point and Roxbury have been battling for supremacy for a while, accounting for the last five Sole Survivor Series appearances. Strangely, enough, though, they only met once in that stretch, the 2303 SCA Championship Series. I think I tried pairing some geographical rivalries in past seasons, though I quit doing that with the more extensive Nuka Cup Tournament. However, some that seem obvious are or will be: Nordhagen Beach-Easy Town County Crossing-The Slog (Now) Nahant-Salem Concord-Sunshine Tidings Lexington-Starlight Atom-Quincy Goodneighbor-University Point-Jamaica Plain (Though I still don't know why the programmers made Jamaica Plain EAST of Roxbury--I just have to imagine there was some decision many years ago to fit into the Fallout canon) FHE-Roxbury Oberland-Vault 81 Future: DC-Goodneighbor (W vs E Downtown Boston Rivalry) South Boston (playing where Goodneighbor currently does)-UP-JP Malden-The Slog-County Crossing |

BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 10 June 2307 CBO Analysis We are now more than 50 games into the season, and by the time of our next report on June 24, we will be at the halfway mark, giving us a significant idea of the 2307 contenders and pretenders. As for now, the tops of the four leagues are mostly the same with a little shuffling in the Power Rankings due to hot and cold streaks. Here is the Top 5. Coming in again at #1 is Roxbury with the CBO's top record, an eight-game lead on the second-best team in the CBO, after a 7-3 stretch in their last 10. The Rad Sox swept Goodneighbor (#23), won two at Egret (#20), got swept at home by University Point (#3), and then swept FHE (#19). Easy Town is the next-best team and comes in at #2 after a 7-3 stretch, including a current five-game winning streak to take a three-game lead in the top-heavy Brotherhood League. The Assaultrons splith with Bunker Hill (#16), won one at Salem (#6), swept Lexington (#22), and then swept The Slog (#21) in three close games. University Point is #3, storming back from a slow start to tie atop the Minutemen League thanks to a 6-4 record in their last 10. The Deathclaws split with Diamond City (#14), won one versus Spectacle Island (#7), swept the Sox, and won two at the Hancocks. Starlight jumps up to #4, perhaps the first time a team from the Institute League has been in the Top 5 this season after going 7-3 with a current six-game winning streak. The Killers are currently a game up in the IL in what has been a good battle so far. In the past two weeks, Starlight split with Nordhagen Beach (#5), won one versus the 75ers, swept County Crossing (#8) on the road, and then won all three at the Synths. Nordhagen Beach rounds out the Top 5 despite going only 5-5 in the past two weeks. The Party Boys split with the Killers, won one at the Ghouls, split with Sunshine Tidings (#11), and then won two versus the Witch Hats. Brotherhood League This league is still exciting even with the Assaultrons creating a slight gap with a three-game lead over both the Boys and Hats. County Crossing is four games back. No one in this league had a losing record in their past 10, something no other league can claim. We still expect jostling throughout the season and cannot pretend to predict, at least not with confidence, which three of these teams will be the playoff selections. We would guess Salem is still the odd team out, but we will see what moves they may make with some prospects to spare. Looking closely at the Witch Hats, there is plenty of room for improvement, especially on offense where they rank tied for 5th in the NCA in runs scored (247), 8th in batting average (.259), and 5th in home runs (66). No one on the team is hitting over .300, with 1B Needham Tickler (.298/10/30) leading the way. It's not like the lineup is bad, though. The two lowest averages in the starting lineup are C Knicker Trout (.223/2/12) and SS Jerry Goodlow (.249/2/21), so the lineup is consistent. If they were to trade to upgrade the lineup, we would expect them to look for an impact hitter somewhere in the lineup. Institute League Sunshine Tidings and Starlight have been battling for awhile about which team will hold on to 1st place. As it stands, neither has been able to stand as the king of the hill with the Killers currently a game up and just four games over .500, which would make them 5th place in the BL. Bunker Hill has been a little more consistent over the last month, helping them to move up and now trail by just three games. No other team in the IL seems to be a contender. If the 75ers want a shot to win the IL, or at least get into the playoffs as the 2nd-place team, they will need to be much better at pitching. Currently 11th in runs allowed (281) and Starters ERA (5.12), Bunker Hill has been let down by the inability to pitch outs, which includes a CBO-worst 264 walks given up. Quincy (243) is the next worse team at giving free passes. The 75ers pitching staff continues to be Jason Tonelli (6-4, 3.09) and then everyone else. Should Bunker Hill want to make a run, they need to find a team willing to give up a quality starter with a low WHIP. Good luck with that! Minutemen League This league has suddenly become the most competitive with four teams within two games of first place. Atom was the only team in the top five spots of the ML to have a losing string in their past 10, opening the door for other teams to take control. We have chronicled the Deathclaws' injuries, but outside of Tomas Jones being out for the season, they have been healthier as of late. Spectacle Island has also made a move up, and we wonder how good they could be since they have seemed to underperform this season, ranking 6th in the SCA in runs scored (259) and runs allowed (250). The powerful middle lineup of 3B Diamond Ball (.358/19/53), 1B Homestay Lovetap (.271/20/44), and RF Judas Stoner (.284/15/39) continues to generate runs. If they need true help, it would be in the bullpen where they are 10th in ERA (5.49). CL Alien Mars (14 SV, 5.87) is not what they need to hold onto tight games, as he has proven the past two seasons trying to replace past closer Bryan Arsonist (1-3, 1 SV, 9.53), who has been even worse. Railroad League Another update, and we can already start counting the Magic # for Roxbury to win the RL as they stretch their lead to 13 games thanks in part to Vault 81 struggling in the past two weeks. Oberland has started to wake up, giving them a chance to move into 2nd place, though they trail the Dwellers by three. Oberland was an intriguing team coming into the 2307 season, but we have begun to think they were way overrated. The offense has been decent, ranking 5th with 263 runs scored, but they are 8th in runs allowed (261) with much of the same problem as the Reapers in the ML, a bad bullpen (11th with a 6.11 ERA). The T-51s also need a consistent closer. William Butcherman (11SV, 5.06) is not it, but no reliever has an ERA below 4.00. RP Dan Beantown (1-1, 4.03) is the best of a bad bunch and probably should assume the closer role as he held when he pitched for Concord. The T-51s may also want to reconsider allowing rookie LF/RP Zair Inquisitor from pitching. If they wanted him to be a two-way player when drafting him 5th overall in the 2303 draft, he should have been more dominant in the minors. Instead, his debut with Oberland has him with a 54.00 ERA in two inning pitched. That is a small sample size, but he has been overwhelmed on the mound. Luckily for the T-51s, he is batting .320 with 8 home runs and 29 RBI, which is helping the team win games. CBO Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1709387428 CBO Power Rankings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1709387428 CBO Players of the Week June 3 - The #1 hitter in the North Charles Association was Starlight first baseman Oren Gep. He was selected as the Player of the Week. During the week Gep banged out a .500 batting average (7-for-14), 4 home runs, 8 RBI and scored 9 runs. Gep is batting at a .302 pace this season, picking up 48 hits in 159 at-bats with 17 home runs, 50 RBIs and 35 runs scored. Murray Bunts demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the South Charles Association Player of the Week Award. The Diamond City first baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .474 average (9-for-19) with 6 home runs and 10 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. Thus far this season Bunts has hit .283 with 15 home runs, 34 RBIs and scored 27 times. June 10 - Cy Thompson is respected by most County Crossing Bloodbugs fans for his no-frills style of play. The 28-year-old shortstop went about his business with vigor last week to grab the North Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .524 average (11-for-21) with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. This year Thompson is batting .319 with 16 home runs. At the age of 28, Barker Cocoa might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The University Point first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .474 batting average. For his efforts Cocoa collected the South Charles Association Player of the Week Award. He racked up 9 hits in 19 at-bats, 5 home runs and 13 RBIs last week in 5 games. This season Cocoa is batting .408 with 28 home runs. His totals include 79 RBIs and 55 runs scored. Rad Sox are really on another level right now. Everywhere else though, we got some good races shaping up! The Minutemen League could really get tight if Jamaica Plain wakes up

BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 24 June 2307 CBO Analysis We have now reached the midpoint of the season, so we can begin with a list of the haves and have-nots for the 2307 season. Well, technically, Roxbury is the only have, but that is just cutting lurk claws. As we enter the second half of the season, there are only 10 teams with winning records: five in the North Charles Association and five in the South Charles Association. If the playoffs started today, the following teams would be our playoff teams: NCA 1. Easy Town 2. Sunshine Tidings 3. Nordhagen Beach 4. Starlight 5. Salem SCA 1. Roxbury 2. University Point 3. Vault 81 4. Spectacle Island 5. Atom Let's see how these teams stack up in the Top 5. Roxbury is #1, holding the CBO's best record by nine games after going 7-3 in their past 10. The Rad Sox swept Goodneighbor (#24), won two at FHE (#21), split at Spectacle Island (#6), and then won two of three over Egret (#18). Coming in at #2 is the CBO's second-best team, Easy Town. The Assaultrons went 6-4 in their last 10, which includes a sweep of Bunker Hill (#13), winning one of three at The Slog (#19), getting swept at Sunshine Tidings (#4), and then sweeping Salem (#11). University Point jumps up to #3 after a 7-3 stretch gives them a three-game lead in the Minutemen League. The Deathclaws swept the Ninjas, won one versus the Hancocks, swept Vault 81 (#7), and then won two at Jamaica Plain (#12). Sunshine Tidings went 8-2 in the past two weeks and are riding a five-game winning streak to claim the #4 spot. The Chemists swept County Crossing (#17) on the road, won one versus the 75ers, swept the Trons, and then swept Fort Hagen (#22). Nordhagen Beach is the #5 team despite only going 5-5 in their past 10. The Party Boys split at the Silver Shroud, won one at Nahant (#16), spit with Bunker Hill, and then won two over the Celtics. Brotherhood League What was once a tight division now sees some distance among the teams with the battle for 2nd place currently the closest show. County Crossing was a cold 2-8 the past two weeks, dropping them to eight games back of the Trons and three games behind Salem for the wildcard spot. Nahant is still an intriguing team despite being 10 games back of Easy Town. The Celtics are last in the CBO in batting average (.229) and 23rd (12th in the NCA) in runs scored (221), but they are also 3rd in the CBO (2nd in the NCA) in runs allowed (245) and 2nd in the CBO in Starters ERA (3.66) and overall ERA (3.81). They also have lots of prospects that could be on the table if they wanted to make moves now to improve their offense, though 2308 may be the time they want to start advancing. Additionally, 2306 draft pick, 3B Jacob Tarberry (6th overall) is killing the ball in the BMU with the Brockton Irish. He is batting .426 with 29 home runs and 68 RBI in just 45 games (all on pace to break BMU records), which shows he may be ready for a call-up already. Institute League We can no longer call this entire league weak now that Sunshine Tidings and Starlight are playing consistently above .500 ball. Bunker Hill has also begun to distance itself from the bottom half, making it possible for the 75ers to make a playoff run. For the Chemists, their offense has been underperforming this season but has begun to show signs of life. They are 6th in the NCA in runs scored (294) and batting average (.262), but they have some guys on fire right now: RF Baktu DaWell (.348/24/52), C Red Sone (.387/13/34), and 3B Ross Merchantman (.288/16/40). If Sunshine Tidings can continue its current pace, there is no reason why they cannot be the favorites to win the NCA in 2307. Minutemen League There are four tiers of teams right now: University Point at the top, Spectacle Island and Atom three games back, Jamaica Plain and Quincy six games back, and then Goodneighbor back in last place in the CBO and staring at another potential first-overall pick in the Rookie Draft. We thought Jamaica Plain would be sellers based on what they did for most of the first three months of the season, but they have come on as of late to even their record at 31-31. Pitching has been as good as usual, but the offense has had a seemingly team struggle. We cannot figure out why exactly the Rockets are 7th in runs scored (290) and 11th in batting average (.261) when they are chock full of offensive talent. LF Ken Debate is leading the team in average with a .306 mark, and he is also second behind CF Hid Matsumoto (15) in home runs with 14. Two players are well below their usual outputs, currently way below their 2306 home run totals: 2B Bulleye Shooterson (.288/9/32; 31 HR in 2306) and 3B Peter Tatoeater (.228/10/43; 35 HR in 2306). Railroad League Roxbury can pretty much hang up their 4th Railroad League championship banner at this point. The Rad Sox enter the second half of the season up by 14 games, and there looks to be no CBO team that will come close to challenging them, much like the 2303 and 2304 seasons. Vault 81 and Oberland is about where people expected them to be, while Diamond City still clings to some playoff hopes. The Dwellers can potentially get star Harry Byrd (.372/8/25 in 32 games) back from a broken leg this week, which would definitely make them more potent in the race for the 3rd seed. Even without Byrd, the Dwellers are 2nd in runs scored (345) and tied for 4th in home runs (82). Players throughout the lineup have hit well, with the top four--3B Knud Bather (.275/15/41), CF Stu Gaines (.329/14/51), 2B End Yamada (.304/11/49), and RF Joe Rathmann (.305/16/46)--leading the way. CBO Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1709677171 CBO Power Rankings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1709677171 CBO Players of the Week June 17 - David Seaweed of the Sunshine Tidings Chemists had an enormous week at the plate and today was voted the Player of the Week by the North Charles Association. For the week Seaweed batted .471 (8-for-17) with 5 home runs and 10 RBIs. This season Seaweed is batting .256 with 14 home runs. His totals include 30 RBIs and 31 runs scored. Magnum Peaeye demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the South Charles Association Player of the Week Award. The Diamond City right fielder wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .524 average (11-for-21) with 3 home runs and 7 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. This season Peaeye is swinging the bat at a .345 pace. He has hit 16 home runs and scored 38 times, while driving in 50. His on-base percentage is .374 and he has played in 57 games. June 24 - One of the league's most exciting young players, Aaron Squire of the Bunker Hill 75ers earned himself North Charles Association Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games. For the week the 20-year-old shortstop had a lofty .500 average (11-for-22), collecting 2 home runs, 11 RBIs and 7 runs scored. To date this year Squire is batting .296 with 12 home runs. It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Orcin Cardinal, the Oberland T-51s 25-year-old right fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for South Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He ripped 11 hits in 19 at-bats, compiling a .579 average with 3 home runs and 11 RBIs. In 62 games this season Cardinal has compiled a .344 batting average with 87 hits and 22 home runs. He has also scored 51 times and knocked in 60 runs. CBO Transactions Monday, June 24th , 2307 Concord Radstags: Placed RP Lucky Petman on the 7-day injured list, retroactive to 06/23/2307. BNN Report News from the CBO, MML, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 July 2307 The July Super Post CBO Players of the Month NCA Hitter - Lannie Tykeson battered North Charles Association pitchers all June and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award. "I've been around Commonwealth Baseball Organization long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 29-year-old Tykeson told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month." In 22 games, Tykeson hit .392 with 8 home runs, 20 RBIs and scored 16 runs. Looking at his stats this year, Tykeson has compiled a .357 batting average, while hitting 26 home runs and driving in 64 runs. He has played in 67 games and scored 52 runs. SCA Hitter - Barker Cocoa hoped June never ended. The University Point star was hot throughout the month and the first baseman's .370 batting average has led him to South Charles Association Batter of the Month honors. Also on the month, he posted a .485 on-base percentage and had 15 home runs, 38 RBIs and 25 runs scored. Currently Cocoa has 35 home runs and a .386 batting average. NCA Pitcher - The Easy Town Assaultrons celebrated today after the news filtered through the clubhouse that Major Tom Brennan had been selected as June's North Charles Association Pitcher of the Month. Brennan's zest for the game has been a frequent topic on the sports pages and his numbers of late have made his fans even more enthusiastic. "Our coaching staff really helps me prepare well," Brennan said, "and the fans feed off good pitching. Your pitches just seem to have that extra pop to them when the fans are behind you and you feel confident you can get outs." Brennan tossed 44 innings last month, holding opponents to a .166 average while striking out 35 batters. In 5 starting assignments he came away with a 4-1 record, putting together an ERA of 1.43. In 16 starts this season Brennan has compiled a 8-4 record and a 2.80 ERA. SCA Pitcher - Exxie Summerset was on top of the world in June, capping it off with the South Charles Association Pitcher of the Month honors. The Vault 81 starter was superb in 5 starts with 4 wins and 1 loss, 41 innings pitched, 28 strikeouts and a fine 1.32 ERA. Presently Summerset has a 8-7 mark in 17 starts with a 2.99 ERA. He has given up 107 hits in 126.1 innings, struck out 91 and issued 35 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .229 batting average against him. NCA Rookie - Plain Morris is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest North Charles Association Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers. In June the The Slog hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .345 average with 30 hits, 5 home runs and 14 RBIs. In 67 games this season Morris has batted at a .270 pace with 71 hits and 14 home runs. SCA Rookie - Missile Crews's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Goodneighbor center fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month. In June he was voted the Rookie of the Month. During the month he hit .398 with 6 doubles, 1 triple and 7 home runs. Crews also scored 18 times and drove in 21 runs. Crews is presently hitting at a .359 pace with 17 home runs, 54 RBIs and has scored 38 times. MML Analysis We are at the all-star break in the MML with all divisional winners up by three games or more. Division leaders are the Abernathy Adamantium (Bunker Hill) , Finch Farm Shamrocks (Nahant), Eastlake Aquaboys (County Crossing), and Boston Common Lead Bellies (Salem). Three of the four division leaders are affiliates of teams from the Brotherhood League. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1709943533 MML All-Stars It's that time of the season again, when the best of the best battle it out for Massachusetts Minor League bragging rights. He wore out opposing pitchers to a .341 batting average and has been named the Legends League Batter of the Month. On the month, Davis added 12 home runs, 29 RBIs, 22 runs scored and a .437 on-base percentage. A look at his current stats shows Davis with a .300 average, 26 home runs, 66 RBIs and 54 runs scored. He has played in 65 games. SL Hitters - June was a good month for Weldon Steak. The Natick right fielder had his way with opposing pitchers all month while posting a .337 batting average and was selected as the Stars League Batter of the Month. Last month Steak put up some solid numbers: 12 home runs, 26 RBIs, 24 runs scored and a .406 on-base percentage. Currently Steak is batting .314 with 30 home runs and 72 RBIs. LL Pitcher - The top-rated pitcher this past month in the Legends League was Denaria Kee of the Burlington Ferals. He really dominated league hitters, finishing June with a 4-0 won-lost mark and a 1.80 ERA. The Ferals ace made 5 starts and surrendered 29 hits in 40 innings. He struck out 25 and walked 6. So far this season Kee has 5 wins and 3 losses and a 2.26 ERA. SL Pitcher - Chris Morgen has made fans throughout Massachusetts Minor League take notice over the past month with an exceptional 4-0 record. No pitcher in the Stars League threw better in June, garnering him the Pitcher of the Month award today. In 6 starts Morgen compiled a 3.50 ERA, putting up a 4-0 record, striking out 40 and tossing 43.2 innings. This year Morgen has registered 7 wins and 3 losses in 16 starts with a 4.82 ERA while registering 91 strikeouts and 46 walks in 106.1 innings. BMU Analysis While three leagues have three games or more leads, one league has a three-way tie. The Dark Hollow Pond League leader is the Brockton Irish (Nahant), the Cambridge League leader is the Mystic Pines Raybathers (Oberland), and the Glowing Sea League leader is the Worcester Cannons (Fort Hagen). In the Downtown Boston League, the Charles View Cannibals (Spectacle Island), Trinity Plaza Snipers (Quincy), and Plymouth Pilgrims (Egret) are all knotted up at 29-21. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1709943533 BMU Players of the Month CA Hitter - At only 18 years of age, Jacob Tarberry could very well have many more months like this last one during his career. That would be great news for fans of the Brockton Irish, as June was one to remember for the third baseman and he has captured the Commonwealth Association Batter of the Month award. On the month he hit .487 with 9 home runs, 30 RBIs and 19 runs scored. To date Tarberry has chalked up a .421 average with 30 home runs, driven in 73 runs and scored 58 times. MA Hitter - Chin Chin Chickerling made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the Massachusetts Association this past month. The Charles View Cannibals catcher shined through the month of June and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 18-year-old hit .406 with 10 home runs, 23 RBIs and 22 runs scored. Chickerling is hitting at a .315 mark this season. His stats show 20 home runs, 55 RBIs and 44 runs scored. He has played 50 games for the Cannibals. CA Pitcher - Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Galen Walton-Erso, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Mystic Pines Raybathers reliever, 19, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .283 average and walked away with the Commonwealth Association Pitcher of the Month award for June. Walton-Erso posted a 3-0 mark and a 0.00 ERA in 6 relief appearances. In 11.2 innings, he had no saves, 9 strikeouts, and 2 walks. On the year, Walton-Erso has recorded no saves with a 5-0 record over 31 innings. He has mowed down 26 batters on strikes and walked 10 with an ERA of 2.61. MA Pitcher - June's best hurler was Joel Suarez of Clifton. He overwhelmed MA hitters all month long and captured the Pitcher of the Month award as he collected a 3-0 record in 3 starts. The 24-year-old Suarez added 19 strikeouts in 24.2 innings and 12 walks to his season record and compiled a 1.46 ERA. Other clubs hit .180 against him. This year Suarez has posted a record of 3 wins and 2 losses with a 3.86 ERA. He has appeared in 5 games and struck out 25 in 32.2 innings. GBRL Analysis Only one division is currently really tight 50 games into the season, but there are no current ties. The division leaders are the Med-Tek Eyebots (Quincy), Corvega Flamers (The Slog), Poseidon Energy Mongrels (Vault 81), and Watertown Armorers (FHE) by a game. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1709943533 GBRL Players of the Month NL Hitter - For a rookie just breaking in, Rusty Palmers certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the NL Batter of the Month award for June. The 18-year-old third baseman for the Taffington Boathouse Spy Hunters hit .348 with 13 home runs, 31 RBIs and 20 runs scored. This season Palmers has banged out 64 hits in 173 at-bats for a .370 average with 22 home runs. He is getting on base at a .469 pace and his totals also include 59 RBIs and 48 runs scored. SL Hitter - Roadside Pines Cosmos fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in June. Elijah Failson put up a remarkable month at the age of 19 and has been named the South League Batter of the Month. For the month, Failson hit .482 with 5 home runs, 25 RBIs and 16 runs scored. To date this season Failson is hitting .437 with 15 home runs. NL Pitcher - When Ponda Baba took the hill in June, he was in charge. The Corvega starter never let the North League batters get a foothold against him. For his peerless performance, he came away with an impressive 3-0 record and the Pitcher of the Month award. The talented Flamers hurler made 4 starts, worked 31 innings, permitted 24 base hits, and struck out 34 while putting up a 1.74 ERA. This season Baba has compiled a 9-1 mark, 1.58 ERA and made 12 starts. SL Pitcher - In June, Bucket Bill Brown tore through the South League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 20 years old. The young Poseidon Energy starter posted a 4-0 mark and an ERA of 1.09 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 33 innings he collected 38 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .210 average. This season Brown has a 12-0 mark in 13 starts with a 1.03 ERA. He has given up 63 hits in 96 innings, struck out 115 and issued 16 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .182 batting average against him. BYDL Analysis The BYDL enters its final month of the regular season before the lengthy playoffs begin. With 27 games to be played for the younguns in July, here is a look at overall division leaders: Franklin - Beantwon Sprouts Emerson - Stoneham Commandos Fuller - Kendall Hospital Yahoos Revere - Suagus Launchers Adams - Vault 95 Vault Boys Alcott - Castle Freedom Morse - Andrew Station Southies Attucks - Weymouth Locksmiths https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1709943539 BYDL Players of the Month NR Hitter - Not known for his offensive prowess, Naga Arakaki set the league afire in June and took home the North Region Batter of the Month award. The 111 right fielder posted a steady .430 batting average, 9 home runs, 31 RBIs and 27 runs. This year Arakaki has hit at a .381 clip with 64 hits, 20 home runs, 57 RBIs and 49 runs scored. SR Hitter - Tobias Hoffman is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Diamond City left fielder joined that select company when the South Region announced the results of June's voting. Hoffman totaled 34 hits, 16 walks, 10 home runs, 28 RBIs and 24 runs scored last month to put together a .374 batting average and .472 on-base percentage. In 48 games this season Hoffman is batting .355 with 61 hits and 18 home runs. He has scored 40 runs and driven in 48. NR Pitcher - Red Raider was on cloud nine the entire month of June, capping it off with the North Region Pitcher of the Month honors. The Green Future starter was spectacular in 6 starting assignments with 6 wins and no losses, 47.1 innings pitched, 42 strikeouts and a fine 1.71 ERA. So far this season Raider has a 9-3 record, 13 starts, 94.2 innings, 78 strikeouts and a 3.04 ERA. SR Pitcher - The June Pitcher of the Month has been chosen and the South Region award went to Darwin hurler, Cleveland Heep. During the month, Heep was impressive with a 3.28 ERA and 6 wins and no losses. In 46.2 innings he struck out 47 and gave up 40 hits and 13 walks. In the current season in 12 starts, Cleveland Heep has a record of 7-5 with 69 strikeouts in 76.1 innings and a 4.01 ERA. SCYL Analysis With just over two weeks remaining in the season, the SCYL is arriving at the end of time for teams to make their mark. Eight total teams will make the playoffs with the top four from each league. Right now, the division leaders are the Truro Hatchlings, Sandwich Screamers, Woodlawn Red Clay, and New Bedford Whales. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1709943539 SCYL Players of the Month CCL Hitter - It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 17 Heddic Volunnar has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Eastham Rads star can enjoy the numbers he put up in June, which have garnered him the nod as the Cape Cod League Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .426 average with 10 home runs, 29 RBIs and 24 runs scored. So far this season Volunnar has 21 home runs and a .365 batting average. PL Hitter - Sebastian Lort put together a good June to earn the Providence League Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to Woodlawn officials that he belongs on the big league roster. The Red Clay right fielder posted a .526 batting average with 13 home runs, 34 RBIs and 35 runs scored. Lort is hitting .479 for the season with 19 home runs, 67 RBIs and 71 runs scored. He has 102 hits in 213 at-bats and played in 50 games. CCL Pitcher - Tarzan Rogers will be bringing June's Cape Cod League Pitcher of the Month trophy home to Sandwich. He excelled all month long as he kept opposing hitters guessing, reaching and hoping. Rogers started 6 games, going 6-0 with 55 strikeouts in 46.2 innings as he compiled his 2.70 ERA. For the season Rogers has logged 12 wins and 1 loss and struck out 128 batters in 104 innings while compiling a 2.68 ERA. PL Pitcher - A 5-1 record with a 2.86 ERA is a good month for most any pitcher. The Providence League thought it was worthy of an award and named Nervous Patron, starter for the Freeplat Wicked Goods, June's Pitcher of the Month. He also held the opposition to a .219 average while posting 55 strikeouts in 50.1 innings. This season Patron has compiled a 9-4 mark with a 3.68 ERA in 14 starts. |

---------------------------------------------------------- https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1610115119 Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL, APL, NWLR, and BBL Leagues by Evan Guy 1 July 2307 NWL Update The Grape Painted Ghouls lead the North Bradberton Division, while the Cherry Ghoulrillas and Orange Tourists are tied for the South Bradberton lead. Diss Montand may be much younger than other hitters in the Nuka World League, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in June to win the Batter of the Month award. The 25-year-old Victory first baseman hit .473 with 2 home runs, 15 RBIs and 19 runs scored. Presently Montand is batting .456 and has collected 4 home runs, 32 RBIs, .484 OBP and scored 39 runs. The Nuka World League scribes have selected June's Pitcher of the Month and have awarded the honor to Smoker Caliman of Quantum. He was outstanding on the hill last month and has the numbers to prove it -- a 5-0 record. The Nukalurks star performer made 6 starts with a 1.90 ERA and surrendered 46 hits in 47.1 innings. He struck out 35 and walked 7. Caliman has made 12 starts so far this year and put up a 6-1 won-lost record with a 3.77 ERA. In 88.1 innings he has allowed 103 hits, walked 15 and struck out 65. Holotta Love earned June's Rookie of the Month honors in the Nuka World League for last month's performance. The boyish Orange right fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level. Love hit .351 with 7 home runs, 15 RBIs and 19 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award. This season Love is batting .338 with 67 hits, 12 home runs, 25 RBIs, 9 walks, .385 OBP and has scored 30 runs. He has played in 48 games. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710016318 NWL Minors In the APL North Division, the Safari Adventure Gazelles (Wild) have a three-game lead. The Nuka Town Operators (Orange) have a five-game lead in the APL South Division. Phil Dot has a lot going for him. The Bradberton second baseman just broke into the majors this year and now the Amusement Park League has just picked him as its top hitter for June. In 26 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .343 with 7 home runs, 30 RBIs and 25 runs scored. This year Dot has batted at a .390 pace with 76 hits, 16 home runs, 57 RBIs and scored 51 times. Nuka Bottling Plant Pack hurler Greenhouse Caceres was rewarded today with the Amusement Park League Pitcher of the Month honors. Caceres, 29, realizes that pitching isn't all about how hard you can throw, it's about accuracy and about picking yourself up even when you've had a run of bad luck. "I'd like to say I don't give them anything to hit," said the Nuka Bottling Plant starter, "but that's not true. Every pitcher gives up a long ball now and then. Usually there's at least one mistake in each at-bat, but you've got to battle through your mistakes and build some positive momentum. The rest will fall into place." Things did fall into place for Caceres. In June he took the ball for 40 innings while notching 23 strikeouts, a 2.70 ERA and a 5-0 record. This season to date Caceres has a record of 7 wins and 1 loss with a 5.00 ERA, has appeared in 11 games and struck out 28 in 63 innings. In the NWLRL, division leaders are the Red Rocket Radrats (Quantum) and the Dunmore Ferris Wheels (Orange). Even though he is a newcomer to NWL Rookie League, Young Hee Cyuleez put up some good numbers in June and earned the NWLRL Batter of the Month award. He was one of Dunmore's offensive leaders with a .429 average in 24 games. He also racked up 8 home runs, 21 RBIs, and 19 runs scored. Cyuleez is currently batting .398 with 15 home runs and 39 RBIs. The best at putting a stop to late-inning rallies in the NWL Rookie League in June was Kornet Claire of the Dunmore Ferris Wheels. For his stellar work out of the bullpen, he has been named Pitcher of the Month. He chalked up a 3-0 record, 10 relief appearances and 5 saves with a 3.86 ERA. Claire pitched 11.2 innings and rang up 14 strikeouts. So far this year Claire has delivered 12 saves. In 22 relief appearances he has 25 strikeouts in 23.2 innings with a 5.32 ERA and 4 wins and 1 loss. Bradberton Boys League The Starport Nuka Hubologists stunned the Ol Sugartop Buckaroos by sweeping the Bradberton Boys Series 2-0. The Hubologists dumped them 8-4 today at G-Force Field in the deciding game of the series. This was the 2nd time Starport Nuka has been the league champions. During the regular season the powerful Hubologists chalked up a 24-16 mark and finished in first place in the BBL. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1642276022 Vim! View Veracious, Vivacious, Vainglorious Vision of the Vim! Leagues by Vikky Vail 1 July 2307 Vim! League Update The Echo Lake Harbormen have a sizeable six-game lead in the Fog Division, while the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales have just a one-game lead in the Harbor Division. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710016318 Lo Enright no doubt wishes every month could be like June was for the Cranberry Island shortstop. He wore out opposing pitchers to a .432 batting average and has been named the Vim! League Batter of the Month. On the month, Enright added 6 home runs, 20 RBIs, 24 runs scored and a .488 on-base percentage. On the year Enright has hit .356 with 7 home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 35 runs. The Pitcher of the Month Award has been announced and the Vim! League winner is Echo Lake hurler, Jason Clemons. For his fine efforts in June he has been named the league's #1 pitcher. During the month, Clemons excelled with a 2.76 ERA and 6 wins and no losses. In 45.2 innings he struck out 29 and gave up 44 hits and 14 walks. His record this year is 8-1 in 10 starts and Clemons has a 3.49 ERA. Youngster Gladder Questseeker emerged as the latest Vim! League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Grand Hotel deserved the honor, batting .426 with 6 home runs and 25 runs batted in. Is the month of June a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Questseeker enjoy the limelight. So far this year Questseeker has 12 home runs and a .405 batting average. In the MDIL, the Nucleus Radchickens (Eden Meadows) lead the Small Bertha Division and the Eagle's Cove Harpooners (Acadia) lead the Old Longfellow Division. When Jason Lowder stepped up to the plate in June he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Mount Desert Island League Batter of the Month award. The young Eagle's Cove first baseman posted a .383 batting average with 10 home runs, 28 RBIs and scored 20 runs. Lowder also worked pitchers for 8 walks to post a .427 on-base percentage. This year Lowder has hit at a .361 clip with 47 RBIs, 18 home runs and 41 runs scored. The elite pitcher this past month in the Mount Desert Island League was Josh Dry of the Eagle's Cove Harpooners. He stood head and shoulders above the rest, finishing June with an extraordinary 4-0 record and a 3.12 ERA. The Harpooners star hurler made 5 starts and surrendered 30 hits in 34.2 innings. He struck out 23 and walked 10. This year Dry has a 6-2 record with a 3.90 ERA in 10 starts. In the Vim! Rookie League, the Vim Factory Pops (Echo Lake) lead the Western Atlantic Division and the MS Azalea Shipwrecks (Eden Meadows) lead the Eastern Atlantic Division. Vim Factory Pops fans believe they've got a talented young star in Daydream Armhorn. He did nothing to dissuade that notion in June, as he hit .430 with 9 home runs, 30 RBIs and 27 runs scored. The end result was the left fielder being named the VIM! Rookie League Batter of the Month. Currently Armhorn has 13 home runs and a .406 batting average. When Bug Zapp takes the hill, he's a good bet to nail down the victory for the Fringe Cove Champions. At least that's the way it was in May. He excelled with a 3-0 mark and 2.80 ERA in 6 starts. In 35.1 innings, he fanned 30 and walked 9. That's why he was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the VIM! Rookie League. So far this year Zapp has a 5-1 record with a 3.12 ERA. In the Maine Youth Leagues, the Beaver Creek Bowlers and Pleasant Cove Raiders met in the finals. The Pleasant Cove Raiders made it look easy today as they collected the 1st Maine Youth Series championship in club history. They swept the Beaver Creek Bowlers in straight games, winning the series 2-0. The Raiders disposed of Beaver Creek 2-1 in the series finale at Pleasant Cove Park. "They were the better team this year, no doubt about it," said Bowlers manager Derek LeBlanc. During the regular season, Pleasant Cove put up a 27-13 record and finished first in the Great Diamond Island League. |

BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 24 June 2307 CBO Analysis Every CBO team has now played 72 games, putting us just one week away from the All-Star Break. Some teams have begun to make trade moves, though trades have been much quieter this season than they were last season. Still, there is plenty of time. Let's take a look at the current playoff seeds and then the Top 5. NCA 1. Easy Town 2. Sunshine Tidings 3. Nordhagen Beach 4. Starlight 5. Salem The seeds remain the same as they were two weeks ago, though the Witch Hats are tied with Bunker Hill for the 5th spot. Salem has won 3 of 4 in that series, giving them the spot. SCA 1. Roxbury 2. University Point 3. Spectacle Island 4. Vault 81 5. Atom Spectacle Island and Vault 81 switched spots. Atom also has Jamaica Plain and Oberland right on their tails. Roxbury struggled the past two weeks, but still hold an eight-game lead in the association. Roxbury remains #1 despite a 4-6 stretch in the past two weeks, their worst of the season. The Rad Sox swept Quincy (#20), won one of three against Oberland (#10), got swept at Atom (#7), and then lost two of three at Diamond City (#18). Easy Town bounces up to #2 with the CBO's second-best record. The Assaultrons swept Lexington (#19), won two of three over County Crossing (#15), split at Concord (#24), and then won two at Nordhagen Beach (#5). Sunshine Tidings is at #3 after an 8-2 stretch in their last 10, tied for the best string in the CBO. The Chemists swept the Bloodbugs, swept the Radstags, swept the Bugs again, and then won one at Concord. University Point is #4, setting every league leader in the Top 4. The Deathclaws increased their Minutemen League lead to four games after a 7-3 stretch. The Claws split at the T-51s, swept the Cats, won one at the Swatters, and the won two at Atom. Nordhagen Beach rounds out the Top 5 after matching the Chemists' 8-2 mark in their last ten. The Party Boys swept the Stags, swept Salem (#17), swept Fort Hagen (#21), and then won one against the Trons. Brotherhood League This is starting to be a race of two teams, with Easy Town holding a three-game lead thanks to the series win over the Party Boys this past weekend. Had Nordhagen Beach swept the series, they would be a game up. The rest of the league is fading, with the defending champion County Crossing Bloodbugs now in 5th place. Still, they are only two games back of the 5th seed in the NCA and would be just as dangerous as ever should they make the playoffs. Nahant has shown some life, but our bets would be on the Bugs. For Nordhagen Beach, they are a historical Beachboy Nut from being the favorites in the NCA. Nut (5-3, 4.54) has been struggling since May 30 really when he gave up nine earned runs in a game versus Starlight. Entering that game, he had a rather high 3.52 ERA, but has seen that number increase an entire point. Should the Boys get a change in the second half of the season, there may not be very many chances to beat them. Institute League Unlike the BL, the IL seems to have only three teams with any chance for success in 2307. Realistically, only Sunshine Tidings has a shot at a title, though Starlight and/or Bunker Hill could win a series or two in the playoffs. Lexington, Fort Hagen, and Concord should start reloading for making a run in future years. For the Killers, they are 2nd only to the 75ers in runs scored (376) in the NCA. 1B Oren Gep (.277/24/75) is looking like a Nuka Hitter candidate, while CF Glenn Higinbotham (.293/13/56) and LF Goody Cloyse (.263/14/45) have provided some pop to a team that is decently good throughout the lineup. For pitching, the bullpen has struggled, currently 10th in ERA (5.21), so Starlight may be active to upgrade that unit, making them more legit heading into August and September. Minutemen League This league once had a tight race, but most teams have now settled in to who they are. University Point is the obvious best team, and the next two should include both Spectacle Island and Jamaica Plain when the season is done. Quincy had a nice start, but they went 7-15 in June and are now 1-4 so far in July. They can start looking to upgrade their prospects pool. Spectacle Island is a team we are still not sure about. While they are currently the 3rd seed in the SCA, they are not showing dominance in either hitting or pitching. They are 6th in runs scored (351) and 5th in runs against (332). Their offense is mostly the big three of 3B Diamond Ball (.358/22/64), 1B Homestay Lovetap (.281/27/59), and RF Judas Stoner (.283/21/54). C Ayag Mour (.235/7/20) is actually their worst hitter, though he has come on, hitting .250 with 6 home runs and 11 RBI since joining the Reapers. Railroad League Outside of the Rad Sox, no team has really stepped up to take command. Vault 81 seemed to have done that, but recent struggles leave them just one game up on Oberland for 2nd place. The rest of the league can start offloading older talent for younger guys. For the T-51s, they are doing well on offense, including being 3rd in runs scored (391) and 1st in batting average (.287). RF Orcin Cardinal (.346/26/69) is the star of the squad, with good showings for 1-7 in their lineup. SS Stormin Normin MacDonald (.291/10/32) will be returning to the lineup following the All-Star Break, which will make that number as good 1-8. Add to it that 1B Chase Doctorman (.257/13/43) has had a down season, and any increase in his production could make Oberland really dangerous. CBO Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710042475 CBO Power Rankings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710042475 CBO Players of the Week July 1 - The hottest bat of the week belonged to County Crossing right fielder Babs Rooth. He went on a rampage last week against NCA hurlers and rapped out 10 hits in 20 at-bats for a .500 average while hitting 4 home runs, driving in 6 runs and scoring 7 runs -- numbers quite worthy of the North Charles Association Player of the Week trophy. Rooth was honored today at a press conference. For the season Rooth is currently batting .314 with 27 home runs and 51 RBIs. In 67 games he has reached base at a .421 rate and scored 49 runs to date. Purple Gupta of the Roxbury Rad Sox put the finishing touch on an exceptional week of play by being named the South Charles Association Player of the Week. He rocked the opposition with a .409 batting average, 9 hits in 22 at-bats, 3 home runs and 7 RBIs while scoring 5 times. Gupta is presently batting .299 with 11 home runs, 42 runs scored and 38 RBIs. His OBP is .377. The Quincy Gunners received word today that third baseman Ben Pettinato was selected South Charles Association Player of the Week for his stellar performance in last week's games. Pettinato took full advantage of all 24 plate appearances last week as he hit .476 with 10 hits, 3 home runs, 12 RBIs and 3 runs scored. On the field, the Massachusetts Association downed the Commonwealth Association by a score of 11-2. Off the field, game MVP Patrick Funday-Monday said he thinks everyone had a good night. "You looked into the stands and it seemed like everyone was having a fantastic time," said the 18-year-old, who went 3-for-3 in the game. "A game like this is good for the sport." How would you like to manage a team with more star players than you can play? It wouldn't be an easy chore. That's the dilemma facing the two managers at the annual Boston Minor Union All-Star classic -- how to get all the talented All-Stars in the game. But it's a joy for the fans -- to see all their favorite stars on one field at the same time. North League first baseman Tony Two-time led the way for the winning club, putting up a 1-for-2 mark to earn game MVP honors. "We had some fun out there," he said. "We've got a great league and a great team and I'm not surprised we won." What's the best league? The North League or the South League? BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 22 July 2307 CBO Analysis The All-Star break has come and gone, and now the 2307 CBO seasons 2/3 of the way done. At this point in the season, now, teams are just jostling for spots in the playoffs. Only 10 teams can get there, though, so teams will have to decide if they want to sell out for the chance to win the Sole Survivor Season (and generate extra home revenue) or try to build for the future. The current playoff seedings look like this: NCA 1. Easy Town 2. Sunshine Tidings 3. Nordhagen Beach 4. Starlight T-5. Bunker Hill and Nahant The only change here is that Salem has been in a freefall and three teams are tied for the 5th spot. Because Nahant leads the season series over County Crossing, they hold the tiebreaker. However, the Celtics and Bunker Hill have each won three games against each other this season, tying them for the wildcard spot. SCA 1. Roxbury 2. University Point 3. Spectacle Island 4. Oberland 5. Vault 81 This association has four teams all tied at 42-38: Atom, Jamaica Plain, Oberland, and Vault 81. Because the T-51s have clinched the season series over the Dwellers, they get the 4th spot. Out of Atom and the Red Rockets, the Rockets hold the tiebreaker, but Vault 81 holds the tie breaker over Jamaica Plain, thus currently the 5th spot. Roxbury is again #1 with a six-game lead for the CBO's top record. In their last eight, the Rad Sox went 5-3, splitting with Spectacle Island (#9), winning one versus Diamond City (#16), and then sweeping Egret (#20). Sunshine Tidings is the #2 team despite being a game behind for the top record in the NCA. In the past eight games, the Chemists were 7-1, continuing a hot streak, including being 10-3 in July so far. Sunshine Tidings swept Nahant (#10), swept Fort Hagen (#19), and then won two at Lexington (#21). Easy Town is #3 with the NCA's best record after going in their last eight. The Assaultrons were 5-3 in the past two weeks. The Trons split with Starlight (#6), won two over Nordhagen Beach (#5), and then won two at Salem (#17). University Point is #4 with a five-game lead in the Minutemen League. In the past eight, the Deathclaws went 5-3 in their last eight, all series with sweeps. The Claws swept the Swatters, got swept at home by Jamaica Plain (#7), and then swept the Reapers on the road. Nordhagen Beach rounds out the Top 5 as the best of the 2nd-place teams in the CBO after a 5-3 stretch. The Party Boys swept the 75ers, won one at the Trons, and then took two over The Slog (#22). Brotherhood League Easy Town and Nordhagen Beach have distanced themselves enough that they are just battling to be the 1, 2, or 3 seed in the playoffs, with an off chance of falling to 4. Three teams--Nahant, County Crossing, and Salem--are now vying for the right to be the wildcard team to go along with Bunker Hill from the Institute League. The Assaultrons are starting to look like a beast of a team despite some struggles getting runs (6th at 398) across. They are very good at getting runners on base, currently 2nd in the NCA with a .278 team batting average. Of course, the middle of the lineup is strong with 1B Lannie Tykeson (.337/28/71) trying to repeat as the Nuka Hitter Award winner, along with 3B Dog Prairie (.328/24/64) and RF Dan Squirrel (.260/12/45). SS Rick Rolled (.255/2/31) is the only player in the lineup seeming to struggle. If the Trons figure out ways to increase their home run output and to be more efficient on the base paths, they will start to dominate much like Roxbury. Institute League Sunshine Tidings and Starlight are the only two teams above .500, and Bunker Hill is the only team near .500. The bottom half of the IL is in rebuild mode. Not much more can be said for this race other than we think what you see is what you get. The Chemists still have a chance to be the top seed in the NCA and the Killers could work their way up to the third seed. For Bunker Hill, they are close but may not be close enough despite being tied for the 5th spot in the NCA. The 75ers have just been destroyed on the mound, currently at the bottom in runs allowed (439), as well as 11th in both Starters ERA (5.05) and Bullpen ERA (5.47). Every move they make will have to be to lower those last two numbers. At the top of the rotation, SP Jason Tonelli (10-5, 3.46) is efficient enough, but their 4th starter, SP Jerry Weisman (8-10, 6.15) needs to move to the bullpen. The 75ers recently acquired the services of SP Mike Cartrette (7-6. 4.05) from The Slog, and he won his first start for Bunker Hill. He should help to stabilize the rotation, assuming he stays healthy, but they will need one more pitcher in the next week. Minutemen League University Point has seemed to have taken control of this league, so now the race for 2nd place and a potential 3rd playoff team is in full effect. Jamaica Plain has now begun to overpower teams, while Spectacle Island hangs on to 2nd place. With their last two losses, Atom has now fallen into a tie for 3rd place, which means they have to decide if now is the time to make a move. For the Cats, 2307 looked promising, but they now pretty much see themselves in the bottom half of statistical categories. Atom is 6th in runs scored (379) and 12th in runs allowed (449). When they lose, they tend to get blown out, something that makes us think they should work on finding the parts they need for future seasons. With a Starters ERA of 5.42, the Cats are last in the SCA and only better than Concord (5.67) in the CBO. Ace Tristan Marble (6-8, 4.76) and SP Kelvin Blueprint (9-3, 3.75) can have decent games from time to time, but otherwise the pitching needs talent. Atom has two pitchers in the system--Sp Baker Hubbard and SP Squirrel Bitz--who may develop into starters. At the MML level, though, all four pitchers are aging and considered at their maximum development. There are players Atom could and should move, including C Deacon Gookin (30), 2B Wally Warwick (30), and 3B Shane Stabb (30). Stabb may be a hard sell, though, as a fan favorite they dealt away in 2302 and then ended up dealing for to reacquire in 2304. Railroad League Oberland and Vault 81 are now battling for the probably 4th seed and perhaps the 5th seed. Roxbury has a magic # of 26, meaning they should have this league wrapped up in mid-August, assuming they do not have any more team-wide slumps. For the Rad Sox, the question is, "What can they not do well?" Well, they are tied for 9th in the SCA in stolen bases (20) and only tied for 6th in home runs (103). However, when you hit and pitch as well as they do--1st in runs scored (450) and runs allowed (323)--a win 7 out of 10 times is almost guaranteed. The crazy thing about how well the Sox have done is that they may not even have either the Nuka Hitter Award (come on, this one is pretty much in the bag for the Claws' Barker Cocoa who currently leads the CBO in 14 statistical categories) nor the Vim! Pitcher Award. Nuke Laloosh (7-1, 3.47) missed some time, but he could be a contender if he continues to win at an .875 clip the rest of the season. He would also need to drop a full point off his ERA, but if anyone could do it, Laloosh could. CBO All-Star Game Glenn Higinbotham shined brightly tonight against the best talent that the CBO has to offer. The all-star was named MVP for the annual mid-season showcase held at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina, as his North Charles Association All-Stars downed the South Charles Association All-Stars by a count of 17-10. "It's humbling to even play in a game like this with legends of the sport all around you," he said. Higinbotham went 2 for 3 to capture the honor. Lifetime Higinbotham is hitting .293 with 1297 hits, 173 doubles, 59 triples and 191 home runs. He has scored 778 runs and driven in 638. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710174024 Beantown Brewery Stadium was rocking as some premier hitters competed in the 2307 Home Run Challenge. When the dust settled, Babs Rooth emerged as the champion. The County Crossing Bloodbugs right fielder prevailed over Jonathan Angelou in the final round by a score of 8-7. "I don't think I've ever been so tired in my life," Rooth said after it was all over. "I'm exhausted." In his 819-game career Rooth is batting .328 with 1027 hits, 248 home runs, 660 runs scored and 686 RBIs. It's time once again for the Commonwealth Baseball Organization All-Star game! The game features the top players from the North Charles Association and the South Charles Association slugging it out in a baseball extravaganza. BNN Report News from the CBO, MML, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 August 2307 The August Super Post, Part 1 CBO Players of the Month NCA Hitter - Baktu DaWell may be much younger than other hitters in the North Charles Association, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in July to win the Batter of the Month award. The 25-year-old Sunshine Tidings right fielder hit .390 with 12 home runs, 24 RBIs and 22 runs scored. This season DaWell is hitting .347 with 36 home runs. SCA Hitter - Barker Cocoa battered South Charles Association pitchers all July and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award. "I've been around Commonwealth Baseball Organization long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 28-year-old Cocoa told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month." In 20 games, Cocoa hit .446 with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and scored 19 runs. So far in 2307 Cocoa is batting .399 with 40 home runs, 113 RBIs and 89 runs scored. He has 120 hits in 301 at-bats and a .537 OBP. NCA Pitcher - Mike Rubric of Sunshine Tidings had an award-winning July as he took home the North Charles Association Pitcher of the Month award. "He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Rubric's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in July except for Mike." Rubric was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 4-0 record in 5 starts. He struck out 27 batters in 40 innings and kept opponents to a .196 batting average. Thus far this season, Rubric has worked 136.1 innings with 96 strikeouts en route to a 10-5 record and a 3.50 ERA. SCA Pitcher - The elite pitcher this past month in the South Charles Association was Tony Bertha of the University Point Deathclaws. He stood head and shoulders above the rest, finishing July with an extraordinary 4-0 record and a 1.91 ERA. The Deathclaws star hurler made 5 starts and surrendered 30 hits in 37.2 innings. He struck out 19 and walked 10. In 22 starts this season Bertha has compiled a 11-8 record and a 2.94 ERA. NCA Rookie - Plain Morris earned July's Rookie of the Month honors in the North Charles Association for last month's performance. The boyish The Slog third baseman might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level. Morris hit .321 with 10 home runs, 18 RBIs and 15 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award. This season Morris is batting .282 with 24 home runs. His totals include 55 RBIs and 59 runs scored. SCA Rookie - Youngster Missile Crews emerged as the latest South Charles Association Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Goodneighbor deserved the honor, batting .333 with 8 home runs and 16 RBI. Is the month of July a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Crews enjoy the limelight. For the season Crews is currently batting .353 with 25 home runs and 70 RBIs. In 87 games he has reached base at a .438 rate and scored 51 runs to date. MML Analysis We are in the last month of the season with each team having 23 more games to go. No team's Magic # has yet to reach single digits, but we will start knowing which teams are heading to the postseason soon. Divisional leaders are the Abernathy Adamantium (Bunker Hill), Finch Farm Shamrocks (Nahant), Glowing Sea Radscorpions (Atom), and Boston Common Lead Bellies (Salem). The Shamrocks have the smallest lead of just three games. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710269853 MML Players of the Month LL Hitter - Cool Carl Davis was a lot to handle for Legends League pitchers in the month of July. The Abernathy right fielder posted a .427 batting average, which helped lead him to being named the Legends League Batter of the Month. Davis also added 9 home runs, 29 RBIs, 21 runs scored and a .505 on-base percentage. So far this season Davis has put up a .330 batting average with 105 hits, 35 home runs and 95 RBIs. SL Hitter - To Ginger Rogers, age is just a number. He may be 35 years old, but the Needham Archers left fielder proved in July that he's still got what it takes to compete at an elite level. With a .418 average, 14 home runs, 28 RBIs, and 22 runs scored, Rogers had all the numbers that counted and has won the Stars League Batter of the Month award. This season Rogers has hit at a .320 clip and produced 79 runs batted in, 40 home runs and 71 runs. LL Pitcher - July's top hurler was Lay Cravchuk of Forest Grove. He shackled Legends League hitters the entire month and claimed the Pitcher of the Month award with a sparkling 4-0 mark. The 23-year-old Cravchuk added 30 strikeouts in 34.1 innings and 18 walks to his season record and compiled a 2.62 ERA. Other clubs hit .224 against him. This year Cravchuk has made 13 starts, thrown 77.2 innings, fanned 67 batters and walked 30. His won-lost record is 6-3 with a 5.10 ERA. SL Pitcher - July's premier pitcher was Admiral Kelm of Brookline Bandoliers. He pulverized Stars League hitters all month long and picked up the Pitcher of the Month award. To date this season, Kelm has registered 22 starts, 10-5 won-lost mark, 4.54 ERA, 146.2 IP, 150 strikeouts and 69 walks. Opposing teams have hit .261 against him. BMU Analysis The BMU is also in its final month with just 20 games to go. Like the MML, no team's Magic # has yet to reach single digits, though one team is close with a nine-game lead. League leaders are the Brockton Irish (Nahant), Mystic Pines Raybathers (Oberland), Plymouth Pilgrims(Egret), and Mass Pike Radroaches (The Slog). https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710269853 BMU Players of the Month CA Hitter - Not known for his offensive prowess, Jacob Tarberry set the league afire in July and took home the Commonwealth Association Batter of the Month award. The Brockton third baseman posted a steady .324 batting average, 13 home runs, 30 RBIs and 18 runs. This year Tarberry is batting .395 with 109 hits, 43 home runs, 103 RBIs, 36 walks, .473 OBP and has scored 76 runs. MA Hitter - Dominant Phillips has a lot going for him. The Neponset Park first baseman just broke into the majors this year and now the Massachusetts Association has just picked him as its top hitter for July. In 18 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .435 with 8 home runs, 19 RBIs and 15 runs scored. Phillips on the season is hitting .393 with 9 home runs. His stats include 24 RBIs and 23 runs scored. CA Pitcher - July's elite pitcher was Bobby Lidtke of Mystic Pines. Lidtke restricted opposing hitters to a .233 batting average. He rang up 35 strikeouts in 34.2 innings of work, surrendered 11 walks and crafted a 2.08 ERA. This year Lidtke has posted a 5-0 mark in 5 starts and has a 2.08 ERA. MA Pitcher - John Webber really put his best foot forward in July with 5 wins and no losses and walked off with the Pitcher of the Month honors in the Massachusetts Association. When he got the start for the Plymouth Pilgrims, it was good news for his club, but bad news for the opposition. In 37.2 innings of work, Webber limited opposing batters to 34 base hits and a .239 batting average. He notched 25 strikeouts, issued 6 walks and had a 1.91 ERA. On the year Webber has compiled a 8-5 mark with a 4.68 ERA. GBRL Analysis With the same schedule setup as the BMU, the GBRL is down to its final 20 games of the season. Other than one team on a 12-game winning streak and now a commanding 15-game lead, all other divisions are still competitive. The division leaders are the Med-Tek Eyebots (Quincy), Corvega Flamers (The Slog), Poseidon Energy Mongrels (Vault 81), and Watertown Armorers (FHE). https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710269853 GBRL Players of the Month NL Hitter - For a rookie just breaking in, Tony Two-time certainly put together a successful month. This season Dodson is batting at a .398 clip with 8 home runs and 21 RBIs. He put up some impressive figures with 4 saves in 4 save opportunities -- figures so impressive that the Nuka World League chose him as its Pitcher of the Month. During the month, the Gatorclaws bullpen specialist chalked up 4 wins and no losses while compiling a 0.00 ERA. In 12 innings Will Wylde yielded 5 base hits, struck out 5 and walked 2. Opposing batters hit .128 against him. This season Wylde has notched 4 saves with 25 strikeouts and 18 walks in 57.2 innings while registering a 6.09 ERA and a 5-5 won-lost record. Pudding Ohnderitz is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest Nuka World League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers. In July the Orange hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .394 average with 37 hits, 5 home runs and 17 RBIs. So far this season Ohnderitz has hit .331 with 8 home runs, 42 RBIs and scored 48 times. NWL Minors In the APL, we are entering the last week of the season. In the APL North, the Safari Adventure Gazelles (Wild) have a large enough lead that they should clinch the division soon. In the South, the Grandchester Flying Ants hold a three-game lead. Tony Sanchez is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Safari Adventure right fielder joined that select company when the Amusement Park League announced the results of July's voting. Sanchez totaled 45 hits, 7 walks, 4 home runs, 26 RBIs and 22 runs scored last month to put together a .455 batting average and .495 on-base percentage. This year Sanchez has hit 19 home runs and posted a .358 batting average. It was a monstrous July for the Amusement Park League Pitcher of the Month award winner, Wee Hughie of the Grandchester Flying Ants. He put up some mighty scary numbers. Hughie recorded 4 wins and no losses in 7 starts. Throwing a total of 52.1 innings, he yielded 54 hits, mowed down 24 on strikes, gave up 23 walks and put up a solid ERA of 4.13 in a stellar month on the mound. This year Hughie has a 8-4 mark in 11 starts with a 4.66 ERA. He has given up 98 hits in 92.2 innings, struck out 54 and issued 41 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .275 batting average against him. The NWLRL season is now complete. It was all about winning for the Dunmore Ferris Wheels -- and win they did. There was nothing fancy in how they went about it, players said, they just prepared mentally and physically and then went out and played baseball. "We did the little things right and we did the big things right," said right fielder Burnt Almada, who was named series MVP. "Now we're the league champions." Dunmore defeated the Red Rocket Radrats by a score of 7-5 at Blizzard Park to take the series 3-2. "Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you make your own luck," said Dunmore manager Greg Hammerberg. "We got lucky a few times, but mostly we did the right things by being prepared for each game and playing the game the way it's meant to be played." https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710273471 At only 18 years of age, Clyde Rawhide could very well have many more months like this last one during his career. That would be great news for fans of the Nuka Plant Electrics, as July was one to remember for the first baseman and he has captured the NWL Rookie League Batter of the Month award. On the month he hit .400 with 7 home runs, 12 RBIs and 16 runs scored. Capping off a whirlwind month in which he went 3-1 with a 1.80 ERA, Shamar Hunt was selected as July's NWL Rookie League Pitcher of the Month today. Reporters caught up with the elated Hubologist Camp starter as he left the clubhouse. "I know it's difficult for pitchers -- when you have a bad start or two, people start wondering if you've lost it. Then you ride stretches like this one for all you can. You find it easier to come to the park every day because know you're contributing to the club, not just waiting for your turn in the rotation to make up for your last start." Shamar Hunt definitely contributed to the club. He had 4 starts, throwing 25 innings, striking out 22, and holding the opposition to a .224 average. Since his debut, Hunt has marked up 12 wins and 5 losses and fashioned an ERA of 3.86. He has fanned 178 batters while pitching 174.2 innings. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1642276022 Vim! View Veracious, Vivacious, Vainglorious Vision of the Vim! Leagues by Vikky Vail 1 July 2307 Vim! League Update The Echo Lake Harbormen hold a five-game lead in the Fog Division despite struggling in their last 10 (3-7) to let an eight-game lead dwindle, while the Far Harbor Ghoul Whales have a six-game lead in the Harbor Division. Should the two hold on to their divisional leads, the Vim! Series would be a matchup of the Vim! League's first two champions. Dalton Farm has won the past four championships. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710273471 It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 23 Angus McGuyver has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Acadia Acadians star can enjoy the numbers he put up in July, which have garnered him the nod as the Vim! League Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .374 average with 14 home runs, 30 RBIs and 27 runs scored. In 2307 McGuyver has hit at a .326 clip with 94 hits, 28 home runs, 75 RBIs and has scored 56 times. Vrabe Swenson left little doubt in the minds of Vim! League officials that he should be named July's Pitcher of the Month for his outstanding performance. "I wasn't always confident at the start of a game," said Swenson. "Sometimes it's hard to get into the flow -- the calls aren't going your way or you're trying to spot your pitches too much. You just have to relax and use what you've been taught all your life -- get back to basics -- good mechanics, control, location, keep the ball down." The 35-year-old tossed 46.1 innings of quality baseball -- going 4-0 with a 2.14 ERA and 24 strikeouts. Presently Swenson has a 6-6 mark in 19 starts with a 3.12 ERA. He has given up 110 hits in 130 innings, struck out 87 and issued 34 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .230 batting average against him. Gladder Questseeker's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Grand Hotel first baseman has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month. In July he was voted the Rookie of the Month. During the month he hit .382 with 4 doubles, 1 triple and 8 home runs. Questseeker also scored 18 times and drove in 21 runs. This year Questseeker has collected a .397 batting average to date with 104 hits in 262 at-bats, 66 RBIs, 20 home runs and scored 53 times. He has played in 72 games. In the Mount Desert Island League, the Nucleus Radchickens (Eden Meadows) lead by two games in the Small Bertha Division, while the Eagle's Cove Harpooners (Acadia) lead by three games in the Old Longfellow Division. Eagle's Cove Harpooners fans believe they've got a talented young star in Jason Lowder. He did nothing to dissuade that notion in July, as he hit .436 with 11 home runs, 28 RBIs and 21 runs scored. The end result was the first baseman being named the Mount Desert Island League Batter of the Month. This season Lowder has hit at a .387 clip with 75 RBIs, 29 home runs and 62 runs scored. He has played in 70 games. When Oceanarium reliever Steve Commo strolled in from the bullpen in July, it did not bode well for the opposing team. He usually put a quick end to any budding rally. For his excellent mound work he was named the Mount Desert Island League Pitcher of the Month. The Oceanics reliever had 8 saves for the month with a 0-0 record and 0.75 ERA. He made 12 relief appearances, hurled 12 innings, yielded 5 hits, fanned 17 and walked 5. In 30 relief appearances this season Commo has chalked up 15 saves with 25 strikeouts in 32 innings, 2-3 won-lost mark and a 3.94 earned run average. The Pops beat the Pips in the Vim! Rookie Series. The Vim Factory Pops (Echo Lake) were good enough to get past the Longfellow Pips (Cranberry Island) at Gibbons Family Field today and secure the 4th championship in franchise history. They are the only team to ever win the Vim! Rookie Series in the four-year history. "When you wear Pops on your shirt, you're good at something," Vim Factory skipper Chris Farmman told the press. Pops second baseman Phil Surrency was named MVP of the series after he went .500 with 1 home run and 6 runs batted in. "It feels totally incredible," Surrency said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment." The new champions capped off a great season with a 7-2 victory over the Pips to win the Vim! Rookie Series 3-1. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710273475 July's Batter of the Month has been announced by the VIM! Rookie League. This month's trophy was presented to the Kitteredge first baseman, Purl Jamme. He starred by hitting .517 with a .606 on-base percentage, totaled 30 hits in 58 at-bats, 4 home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 19 runs. Let Segree hasn't been around long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning VIM! Rookie League Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice. In July the Longfellow starter earned a 3-0 mark in 4 starts. He threw 25.2 innings, struck out 20 and compiled a solid 2.10 ERA. During his career, Segree has compiled a 9-10 record with a 6.51 ERA in 32 starts. |
Things are coming along quite nicely. I don't know how everyone else is feeling, but I'm still thinking everything's just fine in regards to enough different teams doing well/not doing well, but I haven't had a real inflection point to comment on it. Just wanted to leave a general comment so you know I'm still following. I also might have to pick a Far Harbor team to add to my list of favorites here soon. My best friend is about to start Fallout 4 for the first time, and is apparently specifically interested in the Far Harbor DLC. I knew she was going to Maine for vacation this summer, but I didn't realize it was actually this specific island that was her destination! So I'm probably going to be hearing a lot more about those locations, but from a RL perspective in the coming months.

BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 5 August 2307 CBO Analysis We have reached the 3/4 mark of the regular season. While no team is in or out of the playoffs with 30 games to go, there are a few places that will start to look more organized in the hunt for the 2307 crown in the next couple of weeks. The current playoff seedings look like this: NCA 1. Easy Town 2. Sunshine Tidings 3. Nordhagen Beach 4. Starlight 5. County Crossing The Bloodbugs started to find success, including a weekend sweep of the Party Boys, which could be the jump board County Crossing needs to earn its way back into the playoffs. Bunker Hill is a game out, but all other teams not listed here are not too far away from being out of the playoff race altogether. SCA 1. Roxbury 2. University Point 3. Jamaica Plain 4. Oberland 5. Spectacle Island Jamaica Plain was tiebreakered out last time we gave this update. Now they are one of only seven teams in the CBO to have won 50 or more games. Atom is a game back of Spectacle Island for the 5th seed, but all other teams need to start winning regularly to have a shot at the playoffs. Roxbury is again #1 after going 8-2 with a current eight-game winning streak. The 8-2 mark is tied for the CBO's best in the past two weeks. The Rad Sox got swept at Quincy (#9), swept the reeling Vault 81 Dwellers (#22) which have lost 12 straight, swept Atom (#12), and then swept FHE (#20). Easy Town is #2 with the NCA's best record after going 6-4 in their last ten. The Assaultrons split at Lexington (#21), won two of three at Nahant (#16), swept Concord (#24), and then won one against The Slog (#18). University Point is #3 with a 6-4 record the past two weeks. The Deathclaws swept Oberland (#14), won one against the Gunners, split with the Yao Guai, and won two at Goodneighbor (#23). Sunshine Tidings is the #4 team with a 6-4 record in their last 10, keeping them a game behind the Trons. The Chemists swept the Celtics, won one against Starlight (#6), split with the Ghouls, and then won two at Bunker Hill (#10). Tied for the best record in the past two weeks, Jamaica Plain is #5 this week. The Red Rockets swept the Dwellers, swept Spectacle Island (#11), split with the T-51s, and won two at the Reapers. Brotherhood League While Nahant and Salem are closer to County Crossing in games difference (4) than 2nd-place Nordhagen Beach (6), we are confident that the top three currently are likely to be the top three at the end in the BL. Easy Town has continued to cruise, but they have seen themselves in this position for several years now without ever being able to take the league in the end. The Bloodbugs were tied with The Slog of all teams for the best two-week stretch. County Crossing had been struggling all season to get its act together but now seems to have done so, ranking 4th in runs scored (456) and 5th in runs allowed (395) in the NCA. While not outstanding, those numbers have improved as of late. SP Gavin Eviritts (6-10, 3.66) is better than both his record and ERA indicate; he just needs run support in his starts, usually also against an ace. The top six hitters, though there have been struggles, are potent and can give any opposing pitcher fits. Leadoff SS Cy Thompson (.304/22/52) could make a big difference down the stretch if he continues his OBP pace. Institute League There is not currently a true race at the top with all teams spread similarly to the BL. Sunshine Tidings is continuing to have among the best second half of baseball in the CBO, putting them in good position to clinch the #1 seed in the playoffs. Starlight seems to have a handle on the 2nd spot, leaving Bunker Hill as the only question mark if they can propel themselves into a playoff spot. One strange downfall has been the Concord Radstags who were just recently considered to be contenders in the NCA. The Stags are now a CBO-worst 28-62 with no winning months and looking worse as the season has progressed. SInce June 1, the Radstags are 11-34 (.244), putting them in position to hold the #1 overall pick. Concord has holes everywhere, except 1B with Dusty Brownell (.265/32/73) and CF with Pockets Aintfull (.308/5/22), though they may decide to go much younger in the offseason and try to reload the farm, which ranks 10th in the CBO. Minutemen League University Point has seemed to establish itself at the top, while Jamaica Plain, Spectacle Island, and Atom jostle for playoff relevancy. Quincy also remains as a darkhorse contender if they can find their success again as they had early in the season. For the Deathclaws, losing one of their best players in RF Tomas Jones has not been as devastating as it appeared early in the season when they were struggling. Now the Claws rank 2nd in the SCA in runs scored (509) to go with being 3rd in runs allowed (370). If they can figure out how to get past Roxbury, they could be considered true contenders to win another title. 1B Barker Cocoa (.401/43/118) continues on in his outstanding pace, though he has fallen slightly behind in his quest to break the HR record. Still, he leads in all Triple Crown categories (Avg-HR-RBI) by a lot and leads the CBO in 15 statistical categories, meaning we will see his name a lot in the record books. Railroad League Roxbury has gotten out of its slump and performing again like the #1 team it is, while the rest of the RL struggles to find wins. Right now, Oberland is the team ready to make the playoffs and then exit quickly if the playoffs were to start today. While the T-51s lead three other teams by four games for the right to the 4th seed, one team may emerge as a dark horse while the Dwellers try to find some more victories. That dark horse to take the T-51s spot in 2nd place could be the Egret Ninjas, which have quietly started to creep up the standings but showed a lot more in the past two weeks with a 7-3 mark. The Ninjas still need to be consistent and much better on offense in producing runs. They rank 10th in the SCA in runs scored (420) despite being 3rd in average (.279). One fault in scoring more runs is their 11th rank in home runs (90) with only three players in double digits on the season: 1B Joe Mahaney (.272/21/52), RF Rick Pickle (.289/12/49), and 3B Ajani Peacock (.285/10/48). CBO Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710594626 CBO Power Rankings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710594626 CBO Players of the Week July 29 - One of the league's most exciting young players, Matt Stickhouse of the Bunker Hill 75ers earned himself North Charles Association Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games. For the week the 23-year-old first baseman had a lofty .478 average (11-for-23), collecting 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and 4 runs scored. This year Stickhouse is hitting .299 with 22 home runs. Atom Cats fans are celebrating Deer Quickwalker's selection as South Charles Association Player of the Week. Quickwalker put up some serious numbers over the past seven days as he cracked 11 hits in 22 at-bats. The 28-year-old right fielder hit .500, drove in 5 runs, scored 4 times and hit 1 home run. In the current season, Quickwalker has put up a .303 batting average with 91 hits, 22 home runs, 65 RBI and scored 52 runs. 8/5 - Sleve McDichael has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 24-year-old catcher of the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud had a hot bat in the North Charles Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors. McDichael batted .476 with 10 hits in 21 at-bats, 3 home runs and 9 RBIs. For the year McDichael is batting .315 with 106 hits and 15 home runs. He has scored 42 times and driven in 58. The votes have been cast and counted and the winner of the South Charles Association Player of the Week has been chosen. It was presented earlier today to Ken Debate for his red-hot week of hitting. The Jamaica Plain left fielder took home the trophy by splurging with 9 hits in 22 at-bats for a .409 batting average, driving in 10 runs and scoring 6 times. To date this season Debate is hitting .315 with 25 home runs. CBO Transactions Monday, August 5th , 2307 Egret Ninjas: Placed LF Bat Savelli on the 7-day injured list, retroactive to 08/04/2307. BYDL Playoffs Update The BYDL playoffs are still in the first round, known as the Regional Quarterfinals. So far, every division winner has won its first-round game except for the Saugus Launchers, who are tied 1-1 with the South Charles Bank Moonies in the best-of-three series. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710594626 SCYL Playoffs Update And that was all she wrote on the 2307 Southern Commonwealth Series. With a 8-7 victory, the Woodlawn Red Clay swept aside the Sandwich Screamers 3-0 and set off a much-anticipated celebration. Woodlawn went 7-0 in the playoffs, sweeping all three series they played. "It was a lot of hard work," said winning manager Button Daley. "But it was good hard work and a lot of fun along the way." The Red Clay were all business this year, with their eyes fixed squarely on the goal of winning the team's 2nd championship. The champs finished the regular season 51-19 and claimed first place in the Providence League Seekonk River Division. "We had our doubters along the way," series MVP Naris Wicked said with a smile. "But we made them eat radcrow today." https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710594634 https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1710594634 |
