BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, College, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 1 August 2308 The August Super Post, Part 2 BMU Analysis Teams are now through 69 of their scheduled 88 games. Division leaders are Taffington Boathouse (Egr) of the Dark Hollow Pond League, Mystic Pines (Obe) in the Cambridge League, Neponset Park (Sal) in the Downtown Boston League, and Forest Grove (FtH) in the Glowing Sea League. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714272683 BMU Players of the Month CA Hitter - When Major Mette stepped up to the plate in July he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Commonwealth Association Batter of the Month award. The young Mystic Pines catcher posted a .452 batting average with 5 home runs, 17 RBIs and scored 18 runs. Mette also worked pitchers for 11 walks to post a .541 on-base percentage. So far this year Mette has 14 home runs and a .339 batting average. MA Hitter - For a rookie just breaking in, Zero Nought certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the MA Batter of the Month award for July. The 19-year-old third baseman for the Somerville Place Sentry Bots hit .429 with 14 home runs, 35 RBIs and 21 runs scored. In 69 games this season Nought has batted at a .385 pace with 99 hits and 33 home runs. CA Pitcher - In July Fiddler's Green starter Elliot Ben-Refael mystified Commonwealth Association hitters and carried off the Pitcher of the Month honors by chalking up a 4-0 record in 5 starts. The 27-year-old Ben-Refael added 30 strikeouts in 40 innings and 15 walks to his season record and compiled a 3.60 ERA. Opposing batters hit .233 against him. In 17 starts this season Ben-Refael has recorded a 7-6 record and a 4.59 ERA. MA Pitcher - Cooch Pace is the latest Massachusetts Association Pitcher of the Month award winner. The Mass Pike starter shone on the hill repeatedly last month and finished July with a sparkling 5-0 record. In 5 starts he tossed 41.1 innings, posted 26 strikeouts, and put up a 2.18 ERA. For this year Pace has chalked up 8 wins and no losses in 8 starts with 45 strikeouts in 67 innings and a 2.28 ERA. GBRL Analysis Through 69 games, there are a couple of tight divisions, but one team is close to clinching. In the Southeast Division, the Park Street AntAgonizers (Sal) have a 15-game lead and a Magic # of 5. Other division leaders are Greentop Nursery (JP) in the Northeast, Nuka Express (Star) in the Northwest, and Greater Mass (FHE) in the Southwest. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714272683 GBRL Players of the Month NL Hitter - Cypher Raige has a lot going for him. The Corvega right fielder just broke into the majors this year and now the North League has just picked him as its top hitter for July. In 18 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .324 with 9 home runs, 17 RBIs and 18 runs scored. Raige is batting .333 this year with 26 home runs, 61 RBIs and 58 runs scored. He has 90 hits in 270 at-bats. SL Hitter - Shoe Kiesel is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Big John first baseman joined that select company when the South League announced the results of July's voting. Kiesel totaled 22 hits, 20 walks, 6 home runs, 14 RBIs and 19 runs scored last month to put together a .393 batting average and .544 on-base percentage. So far this year Kiesel has hit .304 with 20 home runs, 52 RBIs and 59 runs scored. NL Pitcher - Mister Burns of the Parsons Asylum Greasers outdistanced his peers on the mound this month. He fashioned a fine 5-0 won-lost mark and 3.07 ERA in 5 starts to get the North League Pitcher of the Month honors. Burns had a very impressive July, finishing with 34 strikeouts in 41 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .199 average. On the year Burns has worked 141.2 innings with 140 strikeouts en route to a 12-3 record and 2.86 ERA. SL Pitcher - The South League scribes have picked July's Pitcher of the Month and have given the trophy to Skulvar Sablehilt of Roadside Pines. He was devastating on the mound last month with a standout 4-0 mark. The Cosmos star hurler made 5 starts with a 1.73 ERA and surrendered 23 hits in 36.1 innings. He struck out 29 and walked 21. So far in 18 appearances this season, Sablehilt has recorded 10 wins and sustained 5 losses. He has pitched 106.1 innings, yielded 103 hits, fanned 120 and has a 4.40 ERA. BCAC Analysis One division is settled and one division comes down to the last week of play on the way to the first College Series. In the North Division, the CIT Engineers have clinched one spot. In the South Division, Northeastern University leads by two games over Boston College with just five games remaining. The Huskies and Eagles face off in the final three-game series for the division. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714272683 BCAC Players of the Month BCAC Hitter - Snap, crackle and pop! In July, Hot Pie Hawkey snapped up the Boston Collegiate Athletic Conference Batter of the Month trophy by cracking 36 hits and popping 13 home runs. For the month he hit a solid .414 with 32 RBIs and 28 runs scored. The CIT third baseman also picked up 12 walks to compile a .485 on-base percentage. Hawkey is hitting .364 this year with 22 home runs, 72 RBIs and 63 runs scored. He has 107 hits in 294 at-bats, 37 walks and a .443 on-base percentage. Hawkey has played in 80 games. BCAC Pitcher - Capping off a whirlwind month in which he went 4-0 with a 1.87 ERA, Alley Cat Preciado was selected as July's Boston Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Month today. Reporters caught up with the elated CIT starter as he left the clubhouse. "I know it's difficult for pitchers -- when you have a bad start or two, people start wondering if you've lost it. Then you ride stretches like this one for all you can. You find it easier to come to the park every day because know you're contributing to the club, not just waiting for your turn in the rotation to make up for your last start." Alley Cat Preciado definitely contributed to the club. He had 5 starts, throwing 33.2 innings, striking out 31, and holding the opposition to a .228 average. His record for the year is 14-3 in 21 starts and Preciado has a 3.00 ERA. BYDL Analysis The divisions and playoff places are all now secured, and the playoffs have begun. North Region Division Winners: Franklin - Beantown (2) Emerson - Woburn (4) Fuller - CIT Academy (1) Revere - Saugus (3) Wildcards: 5. North Charles Bank 6. Lowell 7. South Charles Bank 8. Beerthirty Notes: All four wildcard teams are from the Margaret Fuller Division, meaning the entire division is in the playoffs. The Lowell Frags won their final 16 games to earn a berth, and the Beerthirty Sippers knocked off Lynn Pier and Concord-Lexington to clinch the final wildcard spot. South Region Division Winners: Adams - Needham (2) Alcott - Castle (4) Morse - Brockton (3) Attucks - Spectacle Island (1) Wildcards: 5. GSP 6. Jamaica-U Point 7. Weymouth 8. Diamond City Notes: The Brockton Claws were hot down the stretch to hold off both Thompson Heights and South Beach to win the Samuel Morse Division. Both the Earthlings and Waves missed the playoffs due to their cold finish. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714272689 BYDL Playoffs We're only in the Regional Quarterfinals, aka First Round, of the BYDL playoffs. This far, the #4 Woburn Diners swept the #5 North Charles Bank Goonies and the #6 Lowell Frags continued their winning ways to upset and sweep the #3 Saugus Launchers. All other series are still in play. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714272689 BYDL Players of the Month NR Hitter - Natick Inhousing may be much younger than other hitters in the North Region, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in July to win the Batter of the Month award. The 15-year-old Concord-Lexington center fielder hit .536 with 10 home runs, 27 RBIs and 27 runs scored. So far in 2308 Inhousing is batting .413 with 23 home runs, 69 RBIs and 63 runs scored. He has 125 hits in 303 at-bats and a .483 OBP. SR Hitter - Javen the Raven Coleman made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the South Region this past month. The Spectacle Island Specters left fielder shined through the month of July and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 15-year-old hit .402 with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and 32 runs scored. This season in 75 games Coleman is batting .388 with 32 home runs, 91 RBIs and has scored 84 times. NR Pitcher - Malcolm Stein of the Lynn Pier Gamers is the North Region Pitcher of the Month. In July, he sparkled and shined on the mound with 7 wins and no losses in 7 starts. Stein checked opposing batters on 53 base hits and a .264 batting average. He rang up 51 strikeouts in 53.2 innings of work, surrendered 17 walks and fashioned a 2.18 ERA. To date this season Stein is 8-6 with 20 starts and an ERA of 4.25 with 114 strikeouts in 127 innings. SR Pitcher - Rob Geter is the latest South Region Pitcher of the Month award winner. The Boston Common starter stood out on the hill time and again last month and finished July with a sparkling 5-0 record. In 6 starts last month, he fanned 27, walked 10 in 36.1 innings and posted a 1.24 ERA. Geter held opposing teams to a .254 batting average when he was on the mound. Up to now Geter has recorded a record of 10-4. In 19 starts he has fanned 84 batters in 103.2 innings with a 3.21 ERA. SCYL Analysis We already showed the final standings of the SCYL and the Here are the Final Standings once again: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714143061 The Pawtucket Paw Sox downed the Woodlawn Gnomes to move to the Southern Commonwealth Series. After one game, the Truro Hatchlings have a 1-0 lead. The stakes were high. Freshman SP Kevin Gauzeman was ready. The left-hander turned in a performance for the ages at Truro Stadium today, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Truro Hatchlings to victory in Game 1 of the Southern Commonwealth Series. Gauzeman held the Pawtucket Paw Sox to 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 8. The win got the best-of-5 series off to a good start for Truro, which now leads 1-0. The Hatchlings liked what they saw from Gauzeman. The 14-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Paw Sox to no runs on 3 hits over 9 innings, and striking out 8. "That was a nice win," said Gauzeman. "To quote my grandma, 'Good tarberry gravy!'" The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Truro Stadium in Truro. SCYL Players of the Month CCL Hitter - Not known for his offensive prowess, Bear Hugger set the league afire in July and took home the Cape Cod League Batter of the Month award. The Truro first baseman posted a steady .493 batting average, 8 home runs, 21 RBIs and 19 runs. So far this season Hugger has put up a .351 batting average with 88 hits, 14 home runs and 54 RBIs. PL Hitter - Woodlawn Gnomes fans believe they've got a talented young star in Scoops Carey. He did nothing to dissuade that notion in July, as he hit .455 with 8 home runs, 24 RBIs and 16 runs scored. The end result was the left fielder being named the Providence League Batter of the Month. In 68 games this year Carey has posted a .312 average and put up these numbers: 18 home runs, 61 RBIs and 58 runs scored. CCL Pitcher - When Kevin Gauzeman takes the mound, a Truro victory is usually the result. At least that's the way it was in July. He excelled with a 3-0 mark and a 0.55 ERA in 4 starts, tossed 32.2 innings, fanned 40 and held opposing batters to a .159 average. That's why the Hatchlings starter was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the Cape Cod League. This year Gauzeman has fashioned a 12-3 mark, 2.11 ERA and pitched 136.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .220 against him and he has logged 162 strikeouts. PL Pitcher - When Jazz Delgado takes the hill, there's a good chance for a Pawtucket victory. At least that's the way it was in May. He excelled with a 3-0 mark and a 2.48 ERA in 4 starts, tossed 29 innings, fanned 31, and held enemy hitters to a .187 average. That's why the Paw Sox star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the Providence League. This season Delgado has compiled a 12-2 mark, 3.47 ERA and made 18 starts. |

---------------------------------------------------------- https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1610115119 Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL, APL, NWLR, and BBL Leagues by Evan Guy 1 August 2308 Orange In, All North Bradberton Alive The Orange Tourists have clinched the South Bradberton Division, giving them a spot in the 2308 Nuka Series. They will have to wait to see who they'll meet as the season still has 16 games to play. In the North Bradberton Division, it is a different story where all four teams are in contention to go to the Series. Quantum leads the division by a game over Grape, but the Nukalurks are also up only two games over Victory and four games over Wild. The chance for Quantum to hold on to that lead next week is slim since they have a three-game trip to the Tourists. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714273933 A hot-hitting Curt Toth punished NWL pitchers in July, hitting .388 in 24 games while racking up 9 home runs, 25 RBIs and 22 runs scored. With those numbers it came as no surprise that Dark's 26-year-old third baseman earned Nuka World League Batter of the Month honors. This year Toth is hitting at a .374 pace with 15 home runs and 56 RBIs. He has played in 71 games and scored 46 times. Allen Puckett left little doubt in the minds of Nuka World League officials that he should be named July's Pitcher of the Month for his outstanding performance. "I wasn't always confident at the start of a game," said Puckett. "Sometimes it's hard to get into the flow -- the calls aren't going your way or you're trying to spot your pitches too much. You just have to relax and use what you've been taught all your life -- get back to basics -- good mechanics, control, location, keep the ball down." The 29-year-old tossed 53.1 innings of quality baseball -- going 5-1 with a 2.02 ERA and 35 strikeouts. This year Puckett has 14 wins and 1 loss and a 2.81 ERA. Youngster Denn Verr emerged as the latest Nuka World League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Dark deserved the honor, batting .437 with 1 home run and 18 RBI. Is the month of July a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Verr enjoy the limelight. This season Verr has banged out 105 hits in 293 at-bats for a .358 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .375 pace and his totals also include 42 RBIs and 34 runs scored. NWL Minors and Boys Ball In the APL, the division leaders remain the Nuka Bottling Plant Pack and the Dry Rock Gulch Convicts. Even though he is a newcomer to Amusement Park League, Jake Roth put up some good numbers in July and earned the APL Batter of the Month award. He was one of Nuka Bottling Plant's offensive leaders with a .277 average in 27 games. He also racked up 10 home runs, 23 RBIs, and 22 runs scored. This season Roth is swinging the bat at a .324 rate with 91 hits in 281 at-bats. To date he has hit 27 home runs, scored 65 runs and driven in 76. Tough in the clutch -- that's a bullpen specialist. And one of the best in the league is Mike Grubb of the Nuka Town Operators. Grubb was outstanding in July and was named the Pitcher of the Month in the Amusement Park League. Nuka Town's star reliever held the opposition to a .360 average and put up 8 saves and 6 strikeouts in 12.1 innings with a 2-1 mark and a 5.84 ERA. This season Grubb has recorded a 4-7 won-lost mark, pitched in 19 relief appearances and rung up 9 saves. He has a 8.43 ERA and has allowed 73 hits over his 47 innings of work, struck out 17 batters and walked 19. The Dunmore Ferris Wheels are champions, today and forever. The Ferris Wheels topped the Wixon Cola Kings 7-3 at Lake Monsters Field today to claim the NWL Rookie Series crown. "Nobody can take this away from us, not ever," said series MVP and first baseman Melvin Trujillo after his club had sealed the victory. "We worked hard and we accomplished our goal." The atmosphere was electric as the newly-crowned champs stormed the field at the conclusion of the game. Fans cheered, gloves flew in the air, high fives and hugs were the order of the day. "From day one of spring training, I could see it in their eyes," said Dunmore manager Greg Hammerberg. "The players had that look of intensity, of hunger, of a desire to accomplish something great, and today they did that. They're champions of the world." The Ferris Wheels took the series 3-0. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the South Bradberton Division and a 44-26 record. The vote is in and Crazy Claws Revere, the 19-year-old center fielder for Dunmore, is the winner. Today he was honored with the NWL Rookie League Batter of the Month award. In July, Revere wowed voters with a .375 average while posting 7 home runs, 27 RBIs, 13 runs scored and a .431 on-base percentage. His career numbers show Revere has batted .264 and collected 111 hits, 28 home runs and 81 RBIs. Jerry Cheesehead will be bringing July's NWL Rookie League Pitcher of the Month trophy home to Dunmore. He excelled all month long as he kept opposing hitters guessing, reaching and hoping. Cheesehead started 4 games, going 4-0 with 21 strikeouts in 26 innings as he compiled his 2.08 ERA. Since his debut in the league, Cheesehead has posted 12 victories and 4 defeats with an ERA of 3.75. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1642276022 Vim! View Veracious, Vivacious, Vainglorious Vision of the Vim! Leagues by Vikky Vail 1 July 2308 Vim! League Winding Down Dalton Farm looks to have earned their return to the Vim! Series. The Fog Crawlers own the best record in the Vim! League and hold an eight-game lead over Eden Meadows with just 13 or 14 games to play. In the Harbor Division, Grand Hotel has a two-game lead over Far Harbor. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714273933 Grand Hotel Atoms fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in July. Gladder Questseeker put up a remarkable month at the age of 22 and has been named the Vim! League Batter of the Month. For the month, Questseeker hit .431 with 12 home runs, 28 RBIs and 24 runs scored. In the current season, Questseeker has put up a .413 batting average with 62 hits, 14 home runs, 36 runs batted in and scored 27 runs. In July Grand Hotel starter, Bossy O'Malley really put the strong arm on the other Vim! League teams and hauled in the Pitcher of the Month trophy. He did it with an impressive 5 wins and no losses. In 6 starts and 46 innings of work, O'Malley limited opposing batters to 42 base hits and a .241 batting average. He fanned 36, issued 11 walks and had a 2.35 ERA. So far this season O'Malley has a 9-7 record, 18 starts, 128.2 innings, 76 strikeouts and a 3.92 ERA. Marc Giddens earned July's Rookie of the Month honors in the Vim! League for last month's performance. The boyish Eden Meadows right fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level. Giddens hit .346 with 8 home runs, 22 RBIs and 17 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award. Batting .354 to date, Giddens has 13 home runs and 47 RBIs. The Mount Desert Island League also has tight races, though one is closer than the other. In the Small Bertha Division, Brooke's Head has surged ahead by four games, while both Eagle's Cove and Rayburn Point continue to be tied in the Old Longfellow Division. Boss Ross put together a good July to earn the Mount Desert Island League Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to Cliff's Edge officials that he belongs on the big league roster. The Actors left fielder posted a .337 batting average with 13 home runs, 32 RBIs and 25 runs scored. Thus far this year Ross is batting .374 with 34 home runs, 86 RBIs and 70 runs scored. Brent Fox really tore up the Mount Desert Island League this past month. He went 4-0 in July and won the Pitcher of the Month award. In 5 starts he struck out 10 in 39.1 innings with a 3.20 ERA. This season Fox has compiled a 9-3 record with a 3.63 ERA. In the Vim! Rookie League, it was all about winning for the Fringe Cove Champions -- and win they did. There was nothing fancy in how they went about it, players said, they just prepared mentally and physically and then went out and played baseball. "We did the little things right and we did the big things right," said left fielder Oh My Takei, who was named series MVP. "Now we're the league champions." Fringe Cove defeated the Glowing Grove Brainiacs by a score of 6-5 at The Lighthouse Beam to take the series 3-2. "Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you make your own luck," said Fringe Cove manager Chris Frazee. "We got lucky a few times, but mostly we did the right things by being prepared for each game and playing the game the way it's meant to be played." Gaia Earthdweller walked away with the VIM! Rookie League Batter of the Month award for his solid work with the stick in July. The Huntress Island left fielder hit .492 with 9 home runs, 25 RBIs and 19 runs scored. In a career spanning 127 games, Earthdweller has batted .317 with 146 hits, 34 home runs, 93 RBIs, and 101 runs scored. Huntress Island starter Tophat Mayhall claimed the VIM! Rookie League Pitcher of the Month Award today with his strong performance in July. The 18-year-old starter tossed 30.2 innings of solid baseball, putting up a 2.35 ERA, 31 strikeouts and a 4-0 record in 4 starts. In his career, Mayhall has crafted a 7-1 mark with a 5.89 ERA and tossed 88.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .265 against him and he has 89 strikeouts. |
Too many to call out individually, but with enough time having passed all these team logos for the lower level teams have really grown on me. At first I thought they were a bit jarring but I think the theme has been maintained. I think it was a good choice way back to expand the inspirations.
Also on the TV series, up to episode 6 of 8 now. I think there may be some even bigger implications for your universe's lore now... may want to just call it an alternate timeline (of course, it was already). |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, College, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 10 August 2308 CBO Analysis We have now completed three-quarters of the 2308 season. While no team has yet to clinch a playoff spot, one team, Concord, knows they will not be there. If the playoffs were to start today, these would be the seedings: NCA 1. Salem 2. Sunshine Tidings 3. Bunker Hill 4. Nordhagen Beach 5. Starlight Salem is only the third-hottest team in the NCA, but since they were already the #1 seed two weeks ago, their lead has only gotten bigger. The Witch Hats now have a four-game lead for the #1 seed, and their BL Magic # is now at 23, the lowest in the CBO. Starlight was tied with Nahant as the hottest team in the NCA the past two weeks, so they have solidified their #5 seed, only two games back of #3 Bunker Hill. The Party Boys have been the coldest good team, meaning that Easy Town and The Slog are not that far away from catching them. SCA 1. Vault 81 2. Jamaica Plain 3. Oberland 4. Spectacle Island 5. Egret Jamaica Plain was not in the playoff ranking two weeks ago. Now, they have surged to the #2 seed with their nine-game winning streak. While Vault 81 had a mediocre stretch in their last 10, they still hold a three-game lead over Oberland for the #1 seed in the association and league. The Ninjas are holding on to the #5 spot, but University Point and Quincy are right on their trails. Of course, we are still not going to count out Roxbury, which trails Egret by seven games. Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Salem Witch Hats (125.0, +) - The Witch Hats went 7-3, including 5-1 over the second-place Boys, helping solidify them as the CBO's top team. They were swept at Lexington, swept Nordhagen Beach, swept Concord, and then won two of three at the Party Boys. 2) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (121.0, ++) - The Red Rockets have surged ahead into the Minutemen League lead with a 9-1 record, including a nine-game winning streak. The Rockets split with Oberland and then swept Quincy, Vault 81 on the road, and Spectacle Island in the battle for 1st place. 3) Oberland T-51s (117.0, ++) - The T-51s have been good, winning 7 of 10 and currently possessing a five-game winning streak. Oberland split at Jamaica Plain, lost two of three at Egret, swept the Reapers, and swept Diamond City. 4) Starlight Killers (117.0, ++) _ The Killers are hot, putting the heat on Bunker Hill, thanks to an 8-2 stretch. Starlight split with County Crossing, won two at the Stags, swept the Party Boys, and then swept the Radstags. 5) Bunker Hill 75ers (114.0, -) The 75ers were 6-4 in their last 10, splitting at Nordhagen Beach, winning two at Fort Hagen, splitting with Easy Town, and then winning two of three over Lexington. 6) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (113.0, -) 7) Vault 81 Dwellers (113.0, --) 8) Egret Ninjas (107.0, +) 9) Nahant Celtics (99.0, ++) 10) University Point Deathclaws (99.0, +) 11) The Slog Ghouls (98.0, ++) 12) Quincy Gunners (97.0, ++) 13) Spectacle Island Reapers (97.0, --) 14) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (97.0, --) 15) Easy Town Assaultrons (95.0, --) 16) Roxbury Rad Sox (89.0, --) 17) County Crossing Bloodbugs (84.0, -) 18) Atom Cats (69.0, +) 19) Lexington Synths (68.0, -) 20) FHE Yao Guai (63.0, -) 21) Goodneighbor Hancocks (59.0, o) 22) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (49.0, +) 23) Diamond City Swatters (47.0, -) 24) Concord Radstags (29.0, o) Brotherhood League Salem has now taken full control of this league and should cruise to their first-ever BL crown and playoff appearance. Meanwhile, Nordhagen Beach has to seriously worry about Easy Town and The Slog behind them. Nahant has been hot but needs too much to catch up, and County Crossing continues to be up and down, currently four games below .500. We're not sure they have it to break into the playoff hunt, but the Ghouls can be proud of their team even if they end up finishing below .500. Of teams overachieving in 2308, The Slog has to be up there. Their young offense looks to be a force for years to come, assuming they do not break up the team in pursuit of a winning combination. 1B Plain Morris (.320/36/81), the 2307 Red Rocket Rookie Award winner, appears to already be a top offensive player in the CBO. RF Judas Stoner (.288/28/64) in his first year with the Ghouls and third year in the CBO, is also a force. Rookie SS Gavin Deux-Gas (.275/14/38) is in contention for the 2308 Red Rocket Rookie Award. Institute League Suddenly, the IL is just as competitive as the ML with the top three teams only separated by three games. With the Killer's good stretch, they have narrowed the gap on both Sunshine Tidings and Bunker Hill to make the last 30 games a must-watch when these games are broadcast. Or in person, of course. The Chemists still have the lead, and they get OF B.J. Perez (.354/5/22) back from injury by this weekend. With the top-ranked offense in the NCA, including 1st in runs scored (508), Sunshine Tidings should be back in talks for a 2308 Sole Survivor Series run. Their starting pitchers have also all won at least 11 games: Eugene Gym (12-6, 3.65), Mike Rubric (11-9, 4.84), Joey Dimes (12-6, 3.47), and Brian Bridges (13-5, 3.66). Minutemen League Four games separate 1st from 4th, so no team is guaranteed a playoff berth in 2308 in this league. While the Rockets surged, the other three teams were so-so, giving the Red Rockets every advantage in the current race. That streak will end, though, and all of Spectacle Island, University Point, and Quincy could pounce. Looking more closely at Jamaica Plain, they are now 2nd in runs scored (508) and runs allowed (373). RF Ken Debate (.319/39/95) has not slowed down all season, and 2B Bulleye Shooterson (.264/21/59) will return from injury in about a week. On the mound, ace Derek Green (11-7, 4.25) has given up an exceptionally high number of runs compared to his career ERA of 3.44, but he is still winning games in an offensive-heavy SCA. The Rockets are 2nd in the SCA in Starters ERA (4.24), so Green's numbers are not that bad comparatively. Railroad League We keep referencing Roxbury because we are just as shocked as anyone with their inconsistency in 2308. Injuries have played a role in that fall, but those are mostly from the mound. Offensively, though OSA has not had any extreme ratings drops in their scouting, the team has been unlucky, currently 8th in the SCA in runs scored (404). With the Sox down, Vault 81 and Oberland have the best chances to take over the reigns in 2308. The Dwellers still do not feel like the #1 team in the SCA. They are 4th in runs scored (489) and 6th in runs allowed (418), not team numbers typical of the association's best team. They are a healthy team, led on offense by stars 2B Harry Byrd (.345/20/65) and CF Stu Gains (.323/256/73). All starters have won at least 10 games, and their playoff 1-2-3 punch of Scruffy Taguchi (10-8, 3.99), Exxie Summerset (15-5, 3.03), and Ryan Downing (11-8, 3.96) will be tough to beat in the playoffs. CBO Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714314314 CBO Players of the Week August 3 - His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Lannie Tykeson was rewarded with the North Charles Association Player of the Week honors. The scrappy Easy Town Assaultrons first baseman hit .611 while collecting 11 hits in 18 at-bats, 3 home runs and 6 RBIs. This season in 85 games, Tykeson has hit at a .315 clip with 101 hits, 22 home runs, 64 RBIs and 63 runs scored. The South Charles Association has selected its Player of the Week. The honor went to Stu Gains, center fielder of the Vault 81 Dwellers. In a standout performance, he lit up the league with a .526 average to win the award. Gains went 10-for-19 for the week, totaled 2 home runs with 5 RBIs and scored 6 times. So far this year Gains has hit .340 with 24 home runs, 72 RBIs and 76 runs scored. August 10 - North Charles Association pitchers will attest that it was tough to get Kurt Kilgore of the County Crossing Bloodbugs out last week. His all-around performance at the plate made him the league's most recent Player of the Week. The 30-year-old left fielder boasted a .500 average with 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 7 runs scored. Kilgore went 12-for-24 for the week. Kilgore is currently hitting at a .326 pace with 10 home runs and 55 RBIs. It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Diamond Ball, the Spectacle Island Reapers 24-year-old second baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for South Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He ripped 11 hits in 21 at-bats, compiling a .524 average with 3 home runs and 6 RBIs. This season Ball has hit at a .358 clip and produced 74 runs batted in, 30 home runs and 71 runs. CBO Draft Preview With the Commonwealth Baseball Organization draft only 90 days away, scouts across the league will have to finalize their priorities and focus hard on who they can realistically get. It's make or break time for these sabermetrical speculators, for they will ultimately be held to task if a "can't miss' player turns out to be a dud. League officials have made copies available for all league clubs in a new section of the Transactions page. Teams now have a chance to scout the draft pool for 90 days before the draft is held. The early favorites to be high picks are the following: 1. Slip Knotty, 17 year-old SS out of Green Future. 2. Eli Durus, 17 year-old RF out of Stoneham. 3. Cyclone Bolt, 17 year-old 1B out of Danvers. 4. Spanky Sutherland, 18 year-old LHP out of Boston Common. 5. Kasumi Goto, 17 year-old RF out of GSP. 6. Franz Kniprode, 17 year-old RF out of Needham. 7. Tobias Hoffman, 17 year-old CF out of Diamond City. 8. Kettle Deitrich, 17 year-old RF out of CIT Academy. 9. Whitebear Whittington, 17 year-old 1B out of Concord-Lexington. 10. Ziggy Stardust, 17 year-old CF out of Needham. Our non-OSA-backed Top 5 Mock Draft if the draft were to be held today (current records for order): 1. Concord - CF Ziggy Stardust, Needham - Stardust is the most pro-ready youth league player right now. He can hit for average, steal bases, and cover the most range in the CF of any other player in the draft. 2. Fort Hagen - SS Slip Knotty, Green Future - Knotty's stock has risen as his bat is only getting better. He can hit for average and wait for the right pitch. Once he is on base, he is capable of swiping a bag and extending to an extra base on a base hit. He needs to work on his defense and could find himself moving to 2B or 3B in the minors. 3. Diamond City - CF Sting McGee, CIT (college) - McGee was considered a top prospect when with West Quincy before getting injured to bench him for the 2306 and 2307 seasons. With the Engineers, McGee is batting .346 and has 12 steals. He is a great defensive outfielder and may be able to go straight to the CBO club. 4. FHE - CF Thrifty Iraheta, Saugus - Iraheta is yet another nearly pro-ready OF in the BYDL. He could move to a corner OF spot from his current CF, but he is getting drafted high because of his bat. He batted .395 with 5 home runs and 59 RBI and stile a whopping 67 basses in just 76 games played in his senior year. 5. Atom - SP Burt Bloodhound, Wellfleet - Bloodhound is the most developed of pitchers in all of the youth leagues. He has a blazing fastball that tops out at 99 MPH, though he had some struggles in 2308, going 3-7 with a 4.04 ERA. If he can develop his potential, he could find himself at the top of the Cats' rotation in a few years. ---------------------------------------------------------- https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1610115119 Nuka News Update Reporting on the NWL, APL, NWLR, and BBL Leagues by Evan Guy 20 August 2308 Exciting Finish to North Bradberton Division, Nuka Series Set The Quantum Nukalurks picked up a win at World of Refreshment Field, taking down the Victory Cave Crickets, 5-4, in the North Bradberton Division tiebreaker game. The Nukalurks now move on to face the Orange Tourists in the Nuka Series. Preview below. Starting pitcher Loweland Waterdrop was a big reason why Quantum won, pitching 56.0 innings and allowing just two earned runs. With the win over Victory, the Nukalurks improved to 49-42. Kell Leek was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI for Quantum. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the eighth, Leek came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Nukalurks in front, 5-4. The Tourists finished the season with the CBO's best record at 58-32, 15 games ahead of 2nd place Quartz in the South Bradberton Division. The 58 victories are the second-most ever in the NWL, two wins short of the Cherry Ghoulrillas in 2307. Quantum is appearing in its third Nuka Series, while Orange is making its fourth trip. The Nukalurks defeated the Tourist, 4 games to 3, in the 2305 series, the last appearance for both teams. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714406804 Nuka Series Preview Orange held a 6-3 advantage in the season series. They finished 4th in the NWL in runs scored (439) and 1st in runs allowed (370). The Nukalurks were 2nd in runs scored (495) and 6th in runs allowed (462). The Tourists team leaders include 1B Bill Black (.366/6/43), CF Pudding Ohnderitz (.362/6/46), and RF Holotta Love (.315/14/57) on offense and pitchers SP Allen Pucket (15-3, 3.23) and CL Gilbert Butcherman (12 SV, 2.95). Quantum leaders on offense include 2B Signal Frummy (.396/13/54), RF Alex Hopp (.341/18/58), LF Jason Love (.341/12/40), and 1B Joe Ransom (.326/13/53) and pitchers SP Smoker Caliman (11-5, 3.77), SP Owen X (6-3, 2.22), and RP Fussy Russ Robinson (11 SV, 3.57). Minors APL It was all about winning for the Nuka Bottling Plant Pack -- and win they did. There was nothing fancy in how they went about it, players said, they just prepared mentally and physically and then went out and played baseball. "We did the little things right and we did the big things right," said right fielder Chris Washington, who was named series MVP. "Now we're the league champions." Nuka Bottling Plant defeated the Dry Rock Gulch Convicts by a score of 6-5 at World of Refreshment Field to take the series 4-3. "Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you make your own luck," said Nuka Bottling Plant manager Short Circuit Ducat. "We got lucky a few times, but mostly we did the right things by being prepared for each game and playing the game the way it's meant to be played." https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1642276022 Vim! BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, College, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 24 August 2308 CBO Analysis The 100-game mark of the season has been reached. Teams outside the playoff race now only have 20 games to make a move. Six teams already know that their 2308 postseason hopes are dashed, meaning 18 teams are vying for the 10 playoffs spots. If the playoffs were to start today, these would be the seedings: NCA 1. Salem 2. Sunshine Tidings 3. Bunker Hill 4. Nordhagen Beach 5. Starlight The top half of the NCA has been hot, while the bottom half has been cold. The entire Brotherhood League is technically still alive for a playoff spot, but the bottom three teams are all .500 or below. The last three teams in the Institute League are out. Salem appears on its way to not only clinching a playoff spot with a 10-game lead over the 6th-place team, but they also have the smallest Magic # (13) to clinch their league title. In the Institute League, Sunshine Tidings and Bunker Hill are neck and neck in the race to the league title. In the wildcard race, 6th place Easy Town is closer to the 4 spot than the 5 spot since they trail #4 Nordhagen Beach by two games and #5 Starlight by three games. It will be an interesting race as we approach the final four weeks of play. SCA 1. Vault 81 2. Jamaica Plain 3. Oberland 4. Spectacle Island 5. Egret Like the NCA, these ranking have not changed from two weeks ago. In the Minutemen League, Jamaica Plain and Spectacle Island are tied atop the league. However, the Red Rockets hold a three-game series edge, giving them the nod. Vault 81 has kept pace in the Railroad League with Oberland's surge, so the Dwellers still have the second-biggest league lead (3 games). While Quincy, as well as longshots Atom and Roxbury, is still alive, the Gunner still trail Egret by five games in the wildcard race. University Point is only back by a game to the Ninjas, but the Deathclaws have been a bit up and down all season. The Claws currently have CF Aesed Hayjen on a rehab assignment, but they can use him pronto! Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (124.2, ++) - The Chemists lead a strong NCA crop despite trailing Salem by three games for the top record. After going 8-2 in their last 10, though, Sunshine Tidings is among the hottest teams in the NCA. The Chemists swept The Slog, won two at Fort Hagen, split at Salem, and then swept Concord. 2) Salem Witch Hats (123.6, -) - The Witch Hats went 7-3 to maintain a strong hold in the NCA and the CBO. In the last 10 games, the Hats swept the Radstags, won two over Nordhagen Beach, split with the Chemists, and then won two at County Crossing. 3) Bunker Hill 75ers (117.4, -) - With an 8-2 the past two weeks, the 75ers are starting to look to be a true challenge. Bunker Hill swept the Bloodbugs, swept Lexington, swept the Ghouls, and then won on of three versus Fort Hagen. 4) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (115.2, ++) - The Party Boys went 7-3 and have won five straight to keep them in the #4 spot in the NCA standings. The Boys spilt with Starlight, won one at the Hats, swept the Synths, and then swept Nahant. 5) Vault 81 Dwellers (114.4, +) - With a 6-4 mark in their past 10, the Dwellers lead all SCA teams in the Power Rankings. Vault 81 swept Goodneighbor, won one at Egret, split at Quincy, and then won two over Diamond City. 6) Starlight Killers (114.0, --) 7) Easy Town Assaultrons (111.6, ++) 8) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (109.4, o) 9) Oberland T-51s (109.0, --) 10) Egret Ninjas (106.6, +) 11) Spectacle Island Reapers (106.4, -) 12) University Point Deathclaws (103.8, --) 13) Roxbury Rad Sox (89.2, ++) 14) Quincy Gunners (87.6, --) 15) Nahant Celtics (87.0, -) 16) County Crossing Bloodbugs (79.8, +) 17) The Slog Ghouls (76.2, -) 18) Atom Cats (70.2, o) 19) Diamond City Swatters (60.4, +) 20) Lexington Synths (58.4, o) 21) Goodneighbor Hancocks (57.8, +) 22) FHE Yao Guai (57.0, --) 23) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (55.8, o) 24) Concord Radstags (11.0, o) CBO Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714421304 CBO Players of the Week August 17 - This week's Player of the Week was Sean Samuels of the Easy Town Assaultrons. He bombarded North Charles Association pitching for 8 hits in 18 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 RBIs while hitting .444 and scoring 6 runs. This season Samuels is batting at a .317 clip with 15 home runs and 44 RBIs. Homestay Lovetap is respected by most Spectacle Island Reapers fans for his no-frills style of play. The 26-year-old first baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the South Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .500 average (9-for-18) with 5 home runs, 10 RBIs and 7 runs scored. Currently Lovetap is batting .320 with 113 hits and 48 home runs. He has knocked in 97 runs and scored 90 times. August 24 - Starlight sports fans can't stop singing the praises of Oren Gep, who has been selected the North Charles Association Player of the Week. Gep was in a comfort zone all week, finishing with a .400 average (6-for-15), 12 RBIs and 6 home runs. In the current season, Gep has put up a .282 batting average with 96 hits, 30 home runs, 85 runs batted in and scored 79 runs. It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Ken Debate, the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets 23-year-old left fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for South Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He ripped 8 hits in 17 at-bats, compiling a .471 average with 3 home runs and 5 RBIs. This season Debate is hitting .321 with 42 home runs. CBO Draft Preview The 2308 Rookie Draft is approaching, and teams are starting to carve their spots in the Top 14 picks as they begin to be eliminated from the playoffs. Let's look at 5 more potential draft picks. But first, this would be the Top 10 based on current records for earned picks: 1. Concord 2. Fort Hagen 3. Diamond City 4. FHE 5. Godneighbor 6. Lexington 7. Atom 8. Country Crossing 9. Roxbury 10. The Slog 6. RF Eli Durus, Stoneham - Durus was productive in his four years with the Commandos, batting .336 with 73 home runs and 221 RBI. Durus is expected to be a future power hitter in the CBO with the chance to double up in getting lots of hits beyond just his home run numbers. He could make his way into the Top 5, and OSA believes he could be a potential target of Concord at #1. 7. 1B Cyclone Bolt, Danvers - Bolt is also a good hitter who will only get better. In fours seasons with the Perception, Bolt hit .358/81/264 making him one of the more prolific hitters in youth league history. He's no Tobias Hoffman or Jacob Tarberry, but Bolt can crush the ball. 8. 1B Whitebear Whittington, Concord-Lexington - Whittington had a slow start for the Minuteboys but was able to bring it on his senior season, batting .319 with 25 home runs and 77 RBI. He has patience at the plate, which will serve him well as he also gets stronger. He is a decent defensive 1B, but he could get better. 9. RF Kasumi Goto, Glowing Sea Prep - Goto was his best his senior year with the Venom when he hit .323 with 23 home runs and 61 RBI. Goto is a player determined to improve, and it has shown. He still needs to work on his walk-to-strikeout ratio, but he can be a patient (sometimes too much) hitter waiting for the right pitch. He also could play anywhere in the OF, though his preferred position is RF. 10. SP Slugger Pyne, Beantown - We're not sure what we get with Pyne after he suffered an injury in his second start of the season. Though he will be back in December, Pyne was expected to put himself above every other pitcher in this draft. Instead, OSA could see him anywhere from the 7th overall pick to the 7th round in the draft. He has three pitches, but his dominant pitches are his fastball and splitter. He will need to improve his changeup and add another pitch in the minors to be an SP in the CBO. CBO Transactions Monday, August 24th , 2308 Jamaica Plain Red Rockets: Released 1B Bill Charisma. "I've been around Commonwealth Baseball Organization long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 26-year-old DaWell told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month." In 22 games, DaWell hit .377 with 7 home runs, 19 RBIs and scored 19 runs. This season DaWell has hit at a .361 clip with 79 RBIs, 26 home runs and 94 runs scored. He has played in 105 games. SCA Hitter - When Diamond Ball stepped up to the plate in August he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the South Charles Association Batter of the Month award. The young Spectacle Island third baseman posted a .477 batting average with 8 home runs, 21 RBIs and scored 18 runs. Ball also worked pitchers for 8 walks to post a .515 on-base percentage. In 6 starts he claimed a 4-1 record as he put up a 1.34 ERA and struck out 48 in 47 innings. This year Thirtysix has a 12-5 record with a 3.45 ERA. SCA Pitcher - There was little doubt around the South Charles Association that Wilson Beachball would be awarded Pitcher of the Month honors for August. Today, they made it official, naming the 31-year-old University Point Deathclaws starter the latest honoree. He thoroughly dominated the hitters who stood in against him, holding them to a .173 batting average while fashioning a 1.76 ERA in 5 starts. His record for the month was 5-0 in 41 innings of work. This year Beachball has posted a 11-5 mark in 26 starts and has a 4.47 ERA. NCA Rookie - Brian DeLong's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Salem right fielder has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month. In August he was voted the Rookie of the Month. During the month he hit .318 with 6 doubles, no triples and 7 home runs. DeLong also scored 19 times and drove in 13 runs. This year DeLong is hitting .280 with 20 home runs. SCA Rookie - One of the hottest hurlers in the South Charles Association last month was Admiral Kelm of the Egret Ninjas. He caught the attention of everybody in the league with some solid stats, good enough to win the SCA Rookie of the Month. In August Kelm starred with an impressive 3 and 1 record. In 6 starts he gave up 37 base hits and struck out 39 in 48.1 innings with a 2.79 ERA. This season Kelm has compiled a 12-9 record with a 5.07 ERA. MML Analysis The MML enters its final week this week as the Legends League pretty much has its playoff matchup while we will have to see what happens in the final week for the Stars League. The Abernathy Adamantium have already clinched the Wade Boggs Division, and the Everett Mutant Hounds have a Magic # of 1 in the Matt Mutagh Division, meaning those two teams are likely to represent the LL in the playoffs. Meanwhile, both divisions have a tie for 1st place and three teams alive. In the Ted Williams Division, the Needham Archers and Providence Warlocks are locked up with the Worcester Cannons just a game back. In the Carl Yastrzemski Division, the Warwick Mirelurks and Braintree Robobrains are knotted up with the Brookline Bandoliers sitting three games back. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714613099 MML Players of the Month LL Hitter - Tim Connecticut is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Abernathy third baseman joined that select company when the Legends League announced the results of August's voting. Connecticut totaled 31 hits, 9 walks, 13 home runs, 29 RBIs and 18 runs scored last month to put together a .388 batting average and .449 on-base percentage. In his season totals Connecticut has 36 home runs and a .270 batting average. SL Hitter - Warwick right fielder Nate Eiland took home the Stars League Batter of the Month Trophy for August. Eiland is swinging at a .361 pace on the year with 14 home runs, 31 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He has played in 33 games. LL Pitcher - Exec Horton of the Lynn Fortune Finders strung a bunch of high quality starts together in August to earn the Legends League Pitcher of the Month trophy. For the month he finished with a superlative 5 wins and no losses and a 1.91 ERA. The Lynn star started 6 games, pitched 47 innings and struck out 39. So far this season Horton has compiled a 13-5 record with a 3.06 ERA. SL Pitcher - It was a monstrous August for the Stars League Pitcher of the Month award winner, Brahmin Lover Beardman of the Brookline Bandoliers. He put up some mighty scary numbers. Beardman recorded 5 wins and no losses in 5 starts. Throwing a total of 38 innings, he yielded 33 hits, mowed down 45 on strikes, gave up 22 walks and put up a solid ERA of 2.84 in a stellar month on the mound. This year Beardman has posted a record of 13 wins and 6 losses with a 3.64 ERA. He has appeared in 22 games and struck out 158 in 158.1 innings. BMU Playoffs CA It's a sweet sweep for the Mystic Pines Raybathers and they have won the Association Championship. The Taffington Boathouse Spy Hunters were not able to keep pace with the Raybathers and dropped the series in short order, losing 10-5 in the deciding game. "This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Taffington Boathouse manager Frank Hermit. It's now on to the Boston Minor Series for Mystic Pines after their 2-0 series win. Leading the way for the winners was center fielder Nate Ransom, who was named MVP. For the series, Ransom hit .375 with a .375 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Mystic Pines Raybathers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Neponset Park Criticals - Forest Grove Pugilists series. That series has not started yet. The Boston Minor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes. MA In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Forest Grove Pugilists have edged the Neponset Park Criticals. "We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Tuck Wilson, who was named series MVP. For the series, Wilson hit .375 with a .545 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 5 runs. Giving the Engineers credit for a hard-fought series, Huskies players said they believed throughout the postseason that their "destiny" was to be crowned Boston Collegiate Athletic Conference champions. "We felt like this was our year all season long," said right fielder Ju Ju Luuk, who was named series MVP. "It was our destiny to win it and we did." It was the 1st in franchise history. During the BCAC South Division regular season Northeastern put up a 50-36 record and finished first. "They're the champions and they deserve it," said a dejected CIT manager Jose Alvarado. "We played good ball, they just played better than us." https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714613108 BYDL Playoffs It's party time in Needham. The confetti is flying and residents are smiling. The Needham Radstorm have reached the mountaintop, capturing the 2308 Boston Youth Series today. "It feels great, like a million bucks. I'm so happy right now, not just for me but for all the guys," he said. "We put a lot of work into this and deserve to be champions." The team is planning a victory parade and fan appreciation day later in the week. Needham finished the regular season 49-27 and claimed first place in the South Region Samuel Adams Division. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714613108 |
Just finished the TV show. Already had a high opinion up to this point, but the last episode really takes the cake.
I think I do prefer your take on the universe though, which is a little less grim. |

Well, I did have some crap going down in the Mojave wasteland that I never returned to since I have wanted to churn in more baseball in the Commonwealth. In the TV show, it looks as though the canon was that House won the game. That, however, is the most unlikely path since House had to rely on the Courier to achieve all his plans. On the contrary, the NCR did not "need" the Courier as much to eliminate Caesar's Legion and House's army of robots. Regardless, in both the TV show's path and my path, the Mojave is as unstable as it ever was because war, war never changes. In the Commonwealth, I gave peace a chance and got the Institute and Brotherhood on board with a gray path rather than a black-and-white one. They can achieve their missions and cooperate with other factions. Of course, creatures, raiders, and bad players are still out there. I am just not focusing as much on them since there is a considerable force holding them off in the Commonwealth. I also have introduced some former raiders into the fold who have agreed to civilization and the benefits of peace. Quick edit: I don't think I directly addressed the status of Mr. House in my New Vegas dynasty. Perhaps there is a way to still work him into the equation for how things are going to change again in the future Mojave. I just lost some of my narrative opportunities I had sprinkled in here. When time permits, I will revisit since there are some crossovers from my two dynasties and the contents of Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Fallout 4 intended for this dynasty. |

I'm more intriuged by the fact that the reason Mr House knew, down to the minute, when the bombs were going to fall is not because he had some super-prediction, but because he was just told when it'd happen, haha. |

News from the CBO, Minors, College, and Youth Leagues
by Nat Wright-Kawolski 7 September 2308 CBO Analysis With 110 games played and 10 more to go, ZERO teams have clinched a playoff berth. There are some unofficial eliminations, but officially, seven teams know for sure they will not be playing in the 2308 postseason. In the Brotherhood League, all six teams are officially alive. However, since Nordhagen Beach and Easy Town face off next weekend, none of Nahant, The Slog, and County Crossing can clinch a playoff spot. If the playoffs were to start today, these would be the seedings: NCA 1. Salem 2. Sunshine Tidings 3. Bunker Hill 4. Easy Town 5. Starlight Salem has a Magic # of 3 to clinch the BL. The Witch Hats also lead Sunshine Tidings by a game for the top seed in the NCA. The Chemists seem to have the easier road down the stretch to clinch the top seed with non-league games at Easy Town and versus County Crossing, with league games hosting Lexington and visiting Starlight. Meanwhile, the Hats will play the IL's Killers on the road and Bunker Hill at home, as well as face The Slog six times to finish the year. In the wildcard race, Easy Town jumped into a BL tie with Nordhagen Beach and has the tiebreaker due to a 6-3 edge in the season series. Bunker Hill and Starlight appear that they will be in some order the #3 and #5 seeds, with the 75ers leading by just a game after getting swept by the Killers this past weekend. SCA 1. Oberland 2. Spectacle Island 3. Vault 81 4. Jamaica Plain 5. Egret The SCA decided to shuffle around its seedings heading into the final two weeks with some great matchups in the final 10 games. In the Minutemen League, Spectacle Island is back in first, going 6-4 in their last 10, while Jamaica Plain went just 4-6. The 3rd-place team, University Point, fell behind by going 3-7, putting them in serious danger of missing the playoffs. The Reapers and Red Rockets meet in Spectacle Island in the last series of the regular season. In the Railroad League, Oberland got hot, going 9-1 in their last 10 to take over control of both the league and the top record in the SCA. Meanwhile, Vault 81 was only 4-6, leading Egret with a five-game winning streak to stand just five back. The Ninjas face both the T-51s and Dwellers in their final two RL series, meaning that Egret largely controls their own destiny to be anywhere from the #1 overall seed to missing the playoffs altogether. In the wildcard race, the Ninjas lead by 5 games over the Deathclaws. Both Roxbury and Quincy are technically eliminated, each trailing by 10 games with 10 to play. Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization: Teams (Total Points, Tendency): 1) Oberland T-51s (121.9, +) - As mentioned, the T-51s went 9-1 in their last 10 to take over control of the SCA. Oberland swept University Point, Vault 81, and Atom before winning two of three at Roxbury. 2) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (117.5, -) - The Chemists went 6-4 with a split with Salem, two of three over Bunker Hill, a split with Nordhagen Beach, and two of three over Concord. 3) Egret Ninjas (113.7, ++) - The Ninjas were 7-3 in their past 10 with a split with Quincy, a series loss at Roxbury, a sweep of the Gunners, and then a sweep of Diamond City. 4) Salem Witch Hats (113.2, -) - The Hats have struggled as of late, going 4-6 with a split at the Chemists, a series loss to Nahant, a split with the Killers, and then another series loss to County Crossing. 5) Starlight Killers (113.0, +) - The Killers went 6-4 in their last 10, but started on a three-game losing streak. Starlight got swept by the Assaultrons, won the series at Fort Hagen, split with the Witch Hats, and then swept the 75ers. 6) Vault 81 Dwellers (106.6, ++) 7) Easy Town Assaultrons (106.1, +) 8) Spectacle Island Reapers (105.7, --) 9) Bunker Hill 75ers (104.6, --) 10) Jamaica Plain Red Rockets (100.5, o) 11) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (100.1, --) 12) County Crossing Bloodbugs (91.7, ++) 13) University Point Deathclaws (90.5, -) 14) Roxbury Rad Sox (87.4, o) 15) The Slog Ghouls (86.7, +) 16) Nahant Celtics (84.4, --) 17) Quincy Gunners (83.4, o) 18) Goodneighbor Hancocks (72.7, +) 19) Lexington Synths (71.4, ++) 20) Atom Cats (71.0, -) 21) FHE Yao Guai (62.8, o) 22) Diamond City Swatters (59.2, -) 23) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (57.9, o) 24) Concord Radstags (39.9, o) CBO Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1714742269 CBO Players of the Week August 31 - Dusty Brownell is respected by most Sunshine Tidings Chemists fans for his no-frills style of play. The 29-year-old first baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the North Charles Association Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .400 average (8-for-20) with 4 home runs, 5 RBIs and 7 runs scored. This year Brownell is batting .283 with 23 home runs and 55 RBIs. Curt Carpenter demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the South Charles Association Player of the Week Award. The Quincy first baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .571 average (12-for-21) with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. During the current season Carpenter is batting at a .277 clip with 18 home runs and 54 RBIs. He has played in 99 games and scored 65 times. September 7 - The Player of the Week has been announced by the North Charles Association. The honor went to Ross Merchantman, third baseman of the Sunshine Tidings Chemists. He burned up the league with a .609 average to win the award. Merchantman went 14-for-23 for the week, totaled 5 home runs with 13 RBIs and scored 7 times. This season Merchantman is hitting at a .285 pace with 40 home runs, 103 RBIs and has scored 85 times. Wookie Chewbacca demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the South Charles Association Player of the Week Award. The FHE second baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .571 average (12-for-21) with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. Chewbacca is batting .288 with 4 home runs and 20 RBIs this season. The Slog 10. Nahant Here are five more draft picks to preview: 11. RF Kettle Dietrich, CIT Academy - One of the leaders of the BYDL's runners up, Dietrich has an explosive bat though he may not be as gifted a hitter as the eight expected to be picked before him. He is a lanky player who will punish high fastballs. However, in the CBO he is more likely to hit for average rather than power. He is also a decently good corner outfielder which should keep him on the field for whatever level he is playing. 12. CF Tobias Hoffman, Diamond City - One word: power. Hoffman has hit 30+ home runs his last three seasons with the Newsboys, giving him a one-home run edge (118) over Jacob Tarberry (117) for the BYDL's best all-time home runs. He also finished 5th for all-time RBI with 290. Like Dietrich, Hoffman is a good corner outfielder, meaning he should find plenty of playing time and chances to jack home runs. 13. C Yvuh Jet, Danvers - Jet is good at handling bad pitches, though he is not that great yet at throwing runners out. With the bat in his hands, he will exhibit the most power among the catcher class, giving him an edge over other catcher prospects. 14. LF Sack King, Braintree - Another corner outfielder in a strong draft for OF, King is still growing into his frame. He is built for power, although he was not as successful as some of his peers in the BYDL due to injuries the past two seasons. Scouts believe he will grow into his frame and be one of the premier home run hitters at some point. However, there is concern that King may have nagging injuries throughout his career, with special concern about back issues. 15. RF Bucky Tampa, Woburn - Tampa is a good all-around hitter who can hit for average and power. While it has not been the case yet based on his youth league numbers with the Diners, Tampa is expected to be one of the more patient hitters in the draft. Defense is a liability, though, so he could see himself fall in the draft. CBO Transactions Monday, September 7th , 2308 Jamaica Plain Red Rockets: Signed 1B Bullet Branch.
