The Oberland T-51s overcame a spirited performance by Spectacle Island right fielder Matt Basile to knock off the Reapers, 6-4, at Oberland Stadium in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal. Basile was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice but could not will the Reapers to victory. Oberland now sits on a 2-0 advantage and has its eyes on sweeping the best-of-5 series. Had Chase Doctorman not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Doctorman hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the T-51s. "We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Doctorman. The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, September 30th , 2308 at Drumlin Diner Park in Spectacle Island. Game 3 - Oberland 3, Spectacle Island 2 T-51s Dominate, Sweep Association Semifinal Chase Doctorman said he expected the Association Semifinal to be "a battle from start to finish." In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Oberland T-51s encountered little resistance in sweeping the Spectacle Island Reapers, to advance to the Association Championship. "It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Doctorman. Oberland won the final game by a 3-2 count and were led in the series by Doctorman, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .455 with 0 home runs. He also drove in 5 RBI and scored 1 runs. The Oberland T-51s don't know who they will face in the next round. The Association Championship schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal finishes. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715255125 SCA Semifinals: #3 Vault 81 vs #2 Jamaica Plain Game 1 - Jamaica Plain 1, Vault 81 0 Red Rockets Rally Past Dwellers for 1-0 Series Lead The Jamaica Plain Red Rockets took the first game of the Association Semifinal in dramatic fashion today, topping the Vault 81 Dwellers with a ninth-inning, walk-off, 1-0 shutout victory. Red Rockets pitcher Derek Green threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Jamaica Plain third baseman Steven Capone, facing Chris Salazar, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Red Rockets the 1-0 win. "Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Green. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Red Rockets Stadium in Jamaica Plain. Game 2 - Vault 81 5, Jamaica Plain 2 Byrd Blasts Red Rockets, Dwellers Take Game 2, 5-2 With second baseman Harry Byrd leading the charge, the Vault 81 Dwellers got a road win over the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets, 5-2, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal today. The Dwellers took a 4-1 lead in the top of the fifth inning. Facing Jamaica Plain hurler Dobbie Radoncis with two outs, Byrd hit a 2-run home run. "It was a good effort all around," said Byrd. Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston. Game 3 - Vault 81 4, Jamaica Plain 0 Vault 81 Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in ASF The Vault 81 Dwellers got an exceptional performance from starter Ryan Downing, who silenced the Jamaica Plain offense en route to a 4-0 shutout win in Game 3 of the Association Semifinal today. The Red Rockets could never get a bead on the right-handed Downing, who threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. The Dwellers now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 series. Downing pitched a complete game for Vault 81. The 23-year-old right-hander was charged with no runs on 5 hits. He struck out 7 during his 117-pitch performance. "I had pretty good command out there," said Downing. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston. Game 4 - Jamaica Plain 9, Vault 81 5 Dwellers Hammered by Doucette, Drop Game 4 to Red Rockets With shortstop Jake Doucette leading the charge, the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets got a road win over the Vault 81 Dwellers, 9-5, in Game 4 of the Association Semifinal today. The Vault 81 Dwellers finished off the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets 6-4 in the deciding game of the Association Semifinal played at Red Rockets Stadium. They took the series 3-2 and will now head to the Association Championship. For his standout play, Vault 81 second baseman Harry Byrd was voted the series' Most Valuable Player. He batted .400, drove in 4 runs and scored 3 to lead his club to victory. "We could never really figure out how to pitch to Byrd and that doomed us," said Red Rockets manager Mark Sellsword. "Hats off to Vault 81, though. That was a great series." The Vault 81 Dwellers will play against the Oberland T-51s in the next round. Oberland won their series against the Spectacle Island Reapers 3 games to 0. BNN Weekly Report This Week in the CBO, BMU, and GBRL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 4 October 2308 CBO Playoff Tree https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715263236 CBO Playoff Championship Series Preview NCA Playoffs - #5 Starlight Killers (71-49) vs #3 Bunker Hill 75ers (75-46) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715263236 Season Series Starlight 7, Bunker Hill 5 June 12-14 @Star: BH 9-1, Star 4-1, Star 8-4 July 3-5 @BH: BH 3-0, Star 8-6, Star 11-0 September 4-6 @Star: Star 5-4, Star 8-7, Star 8-2 September 11-13 @BH: BH 7-1, BH 6-4, BH 9-8 Analysis Under the full CBO, both Starlight and Bunker Hill are making their NCA Championship Series debuts. When the 75ers were still known as the Abernathy Adamantium, they reached the semifinals of the CBO playoffs in 2296 before succumbing to The Slog, which went on to win the first Sole Survivor Series over another former team, the Finch Farm Four Leafs. While this is the Killers' 7th trip to the playoffs, in the previous six appearances, they lost their first series each time. That means Starlight's series wins over Nordhagen Beach and Salem mark their first series wins in franchise history. Now they get to face a league opponent in which they won the season series. More on that later. Bunker Hill is in their third playoff appearance and first as the 75ers. As mentioned, they lost in the semifinals of an 8-team playoff in 2296 and then lost as the NCA's #2 seed in the first round to Easy Town in their second appearance in 2298. Since then, the Bunker Hill team missed the playoffs for nine straight years. Both teams made impressive comebacks in the Semifinals from 2-0 deficits. In their season series, each team got a home sweep in September in which Starlight was trying to catch up, but the 75ers' sweep helped secure them in a tie with Sunshine Tidings for 1st place before losing the extra tiebreaker game. [Lee's note: I figured out why the league does not automatically schedule the tiebreaker game, I think. I did not realize that MLB changed that rule.] Looking at matchups, the starting pitching lineups seem to favor the home-favorite 75ers with the interesting matchups starting in Game 1 where the Killers' Bill Sarnacki (16-6, 3.41) is expected to meet Bunker Hill's Jason Tonelli (15-9, 4.11). Should Tonelli find a way to pitch better than Sarnacki, this series could be lopsided in Bunker Hill's favor. However, Starlight is the better-hitting team, with dominating performances against the 75ers by 1B Oren Gep (.432/3/7), RF Hurr Lee Reyes (.341/5/13), and SS Nick Maris (.333/2/12). Bunker Hill hit a lot of home runs versus the Killers, though, thanks to the efforts of 1B Matt Stickhouse (.386/3/5), CF Jig McGhee (.298/3/7), and RF Brightsun Ramos (.182/4/11). Ramos, however, struggled to hit anything other than the long ball. Prediction Starlight may have turned a corner by reaching the NCA Championship Series. They have experience and chip on their shoulder. However, Bunker Hill has home-field advantage. Should they shut down the Killers' offense, they could cruise to victory. We will call it in the middle of our thoughts, though. Bunker Hill 4, Starlight 2 SCA Playoffs - #3 Vault 81 Dwellers (72-48) vs #1 Oberland T-51s (73-47) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715263236 Season Series Oberland 8, Vault 81 4 June 5-7 @V81: V81 7-3, Obe 3-0, Obe 5-1 June 26-28 @Obe: Obe 11-3, Obe 5-2, V81 5-2 July 24-26 @V81: Obe 5-3, V81 2-0, V81 4-2 August 28-30 @Obe: Obe 4-2, Obe 7-0, Obe 2-1 Analysis Only one game separated Oberland and Vault 81 for the Railroad League title and the #1 overall seed in 2308. For the T-51s, their 8-4 season series record versus the Dwellers made the difference in that final result. Oberland went 5-1 at home in the series, meaning they have a significant home-field advantage heading into this series. For both the T-51s and the Vault 81, recent playoff appearances and victories have been few and far between. Oberland won the Railroad League from 2296-2298 and went on to win the second Sole Survivor Series in 2297 over Nordhagen Beach. Since the CBO merger, though, the T-51s are in just their third overall trip, losing in the SCA CS to Goodneighbor in 2298 and falling in 2307 as the #4 seed to Spectacle Island in the Play-in Round. Vault 81 is making its 5th playoff appearance with its best stretch coming from 2299-2301 when they made it all three years, including winning the RL in 2300. That same year, they made the first of their two SCA CS appearances, dropping Game 7 to Diamond City. The Dwellers reached the SCA CS again in 2306 when they won the RL for the second time, this time dropping the series to Roxbury in seven. The question for the Dwellers entering this season's SCA CS is how their offense will handle Oberland's pitching. All five T-51s starters performed well against Vault 81: Ronnie Messenger (1GS, 1-0, 0.00) in a complete-game shutout, Trolley Dodge (3 GS, 2-1, 1.57), Mesquite Williams (3 GS, 2-0, 1.71), Emperry Alizm (3 GS, 1-1, 3.80), and Zaire Inquisitor (2 GS, 1-1, 3.86). Though only Scruffy Taguchi's ERA looked bad, he was one of three Dwellers pitcher to go 1-2 against Oberland, including Exxie Summerset (1-2, 2.79) and Ryan Goodpryce (1-2, 3.06). Prediction We cannot see any team that is better than the T-51s right now. Though Vault 81 has good numbers overall, Oberland is better. Our pick: Oberland 4, Vault 81 1 |

Let's see how the association championships went!
https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1623123150 BNN Report News from the CBO, MML, BMU, GBRL, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 11 October 2308 NCA Championship Series: #5 Starlight vs #3 Bunker Hill Game 1 - Starlight 3, Bunker Hill 2 Killers Edge 75ers 3-2 to Open ACS The Starlight Killers powered past the hometown Bunker Hill 75ers, 3-2, in the opener of the Association Championship at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium today. Starlight starting pitcher Bill Sarnacki threw 7.2 innings of 6-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Killers now lead the series 1-0. Starlight used a well-timed hit by Willy Mazehaze to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Killers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important. "At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Starlight skipper Austin Shuler. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston. Game 2 - Bunker Hill 5, Starlight 4 75ers Clip Killers 5-4 in ACS Contest In a crucial game, the Bunker Hill 75ers put on their best show, beating the Starlight Killers by a final score of 5-4 today. Oren Gep went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Bunker Hill and Starlight are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair. Matt Stickhouse was 1 for 4 for Bunker Hill. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the eighth, Stickhouse came through with a run-scoring ground out. It put the 75ers in front, 5-4. "They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Stickhouse said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do." The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, October 7th , 2308 at Valentine Detective Agency Field in Lexington. Game 3 - Starlight 5, Bunker Hill 1 Starlight Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in ACS The Starlight Killers got a strong performance from pitcher Digger Vadim, who stymied the visiting Bunker Hill 75ers en route to a win, 5-1, in Game 3 of the Association Championship today. The 75ers could never get a bead on the right-handed Vadim, who threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The Killers now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series. Vadim, who was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts, threw 95 pitches over 7.2 innings, while allowing 1 run. Vadim called the win "a team effort." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Valentine Detective Agency Field in Lexington. Game 4 - Bunker Hill 9, Starlight 2 Bunker Hill Win to Pull Even With Starlight The Bunker Hill 75ers topped the Starlight Killers by the score of 9-2 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the Association Championship today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Bunker Hill starter Jason Tonelli, who threw 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball in the win. Brightsun Ramos, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Ramos contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Bunker Hill up, 2-0. "I thought we played a nice game," Ramos told the Bunker Hill Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there." Game 5 - Bunker Hill 7, Starlight 6 Road Win Lifts Bunker Hill to 3-2 Lead in ACS The Bunker Hill 75ers moved to within one game of the Sole Survivor Series today, downing the Starlight Killers on the road at Valentine Detective Agency Field by a score of 7-6. 75ers first baseman Matt Stickhouse went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 4 runs. The win gives the 75ers a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Association Championship. Had Stickhouse not come through in the top of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Stickhouse hit a bases-clearing double. The 75ers took the lead, 7-6, and never looked back. "We lost," Starlight manager Austin Shuler said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over." Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston. Game 6 - Bunker Hill 7, Starlight 6, 10 inn. 75ers Heading to Sole Survivor Series On the strength of a dominant series from right-hander Rafe Sauce, the Bunker Hill 75ers have eliminated the Starlight Killers in the Association Championship. Bunker Hill won the final game by a score of 2-1 at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium and took the series 4-2. The game was scoreless until the 8th inning when each team scored a run, pushing out Starlight's SP Digger Vadim and Bunker Hill's SP Max Thunderdome. That made the rest of the game a matchup of relievers Sam Molina of the Killers and Sauce of the 75ers. In the bottom of the 10th, Molina started to struggle. With one out, Molina walked Jig McGhee and gave up a single to Aaron Squire. He then walked Matt Stickhouse to load the bases. Then, in four pitches, Molina walked Jalen Wharton to give Bunker Hill a literal walkoff win to complete the series. Sauce was named MVP and had a 0.00 ERA over 6 innings pitched, with 5 strikeouts and a 2-0 record in the series. "The pitches were doing what they were supposed to be doing in this series," he said. "I felt in control." It's likely not the last time these two North Charles Association teams will meet in the playoffs and Starlight manager Austin Shuler said his club would be better prepared for the next matchup. "It feels like we didn't show up ready to win," he said. "That won't happen again." The Bunker Hill 75ers will play the winner of the South Charles Association Championship Series in the Sole Survivor Series. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715340247 SCA Championship Series: #3 Vault 81 vs #1 Oberland Game 1 - Oberland 1, Vault 81 0 T-51s Rally Past Dwellers for 1-0 Series Lead The Oberland T-51s took the first game of the Association Championship in dramatic fashion today, topping the Vault 81 Dwellers with a ninth-inning, walk-off, 1-0 shutout victory. T-51s pitcher Emperry Alizm threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Oberland catcher Racky Westheim, facing Chris Salazar, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the T-51s the 1-0 win. "This joint was rocking," said Alizm. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Oberland Stadium in Oberland. Game 2 - Vault 81 11, Oberland 5 Yamada Blasts T-51s, Dwellers Take Game 2, 11-5 The Vault 81 Dwellers relied on the hitting of shortstop End Yamada to get by the Oberland T-51s, 11-5, in Game 2 of the Association Championship today. For the game, Yamada went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. The clubs are now tied, 1-1. Vault 81 relied on the bat of Knud Bather to get the win. The third baseman ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dwellers ahead, 9-2. For the game, Bather had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats. "We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Yamada told the Vault 81 Daily News. Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston. Game 3 - Oberland 7, Vault 81 2 Road Win Lifts Oberland to 2-1 Lead in ACS Riding the 4-hit performance of first baseman Chase Doctorman, the Oberland T-51s got a road win against the Vault 81 Dwellers, 7-2, in Game 3 of the Association Championship today. Doctorman went 4-5 with 4 singles for the T-51s, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1. Stormin Normin MacDonald, the former first overall pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. MacDonald contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Oberland up, 4-2. "I felt good up there," said Doctorman. "I saw the ball well." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston. Game 4 - Oberland 7, Vault 81 2 Almost There: Oberland On Cusp of ACS Triumph After 7-2 Win The Oberland T-51s moved to within one game of the Sole Survivor Series today, downing the Vault 81 Dwellers on the road at CURIE Inc. Field by a score of 7-2. T-51s right-hander Emperry Alizm had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the T-51s a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Association Championship. Oberland used the bat of Chase Doctorman to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the T-51s ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage. "It felt like they almost stopped play a couple times, but it just held off," Doctorman said of the rain that threatened throughout much of the game. "Not great conditions for playoff baseball." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston. Game 5 - Oberland 5, Vault 81 1 T-51s Advance to Sole Survivor Series SP Mesquite Williams pitched a masterful fifth game, allowing just one run over 8.2 innings to lift the Oberland T-51s over the Vault 81 Dwellers, 5-1, clinching the series in the process. Good Don Duck and Racky Westheim each homered in the contest, accounting for three of the T-51s' five runs. Harry Byrd's solo shot in the bottom of the 9th accounted for the Dwellers' only run. Duck was named series MVP after playing an instrumental role in winning the series 4-1 and eliminating the Vault 81 Dwellers. "See the ball, hit the ball," the six-time All Star said. "It's simple what I did this series." Duck was red hot in the series, which saw him put up a .522 average, as well as 2 home runs and 5 RBI. The Oberland T-51s will play the Bunker Hill 75ers in the Sole Survivor Series. Bunker Hill won the series 4 games to 2. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship finishes. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715340247 |

We are also in our third-straight #1 seed from one association versus the #3 seed from another association matchup with the seeds splitting, though the NCA won the last two championships. The 75ers are making their first Sole Survivor Series appearance, while Oberland is making its second, a 2297 victory over Nordhagen Beach. Bunker Hill was good and gets home-field advantage due to having a 1.5-game advantage in the overall record. That advantage is due in part to their one game versus the T-51s in the regular season where the 75ers came out on top, 4-0. The top players to watch for Bunker Hill are 1B Matt Stickhouse and SS Aaron Squire. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715347196 For the T-51s, they fulfilled PAM's preseason prediction of being the top team in the SCA. Oberland took advantage of Roxbury having a down year to win the Railroad League for the first time since 2298, which had marked three-straight league titles. For the T-51s, they have a lot of star power with the Series MVP watchlist coming down to RF Orcin Cardinal, SS Stormin Normin MacDonald, or 1B Chase Doctorman. Whatever the result, we expect to see lots of runs in this one. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715347203 Overall, these are the statistical matchups: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715347203 In the expected lineup vs lineup matches, Oberland slightly has most of the advantages, though a best vs best matchup would slightly gavor the 75ers for offensive production. Throughout the lineup, though, the T-51s hold most of the advantages. All BH vs Obe C - Darth Horse (.197/9/40) < Racky Westheim (.319/7/47) 1B - Matt Stickhouse (.323/32/85) > Chase Doctorman (.259/26/64) 2B - Emerald Sapphire (.265/7/37) < Da Game (.303/13/72) 3B - Grool Manycaps (.282/10/43) > Joe Malone (.269/5/48) SS - Aaron Squire (.339/22/73) < Stormin Normin MacDonald (.353/23/70) LF - Donny Kowalski (.238/20/44) < Zaire Inquisitor (.287/20/52) CF - Jig McGhee (.300/20/65) > Good Don Duck (.259/11/51) RF - Brightsun Ramos (.276/19/60) < Orcin Cardinal (.326/11/51) In the pitcher vs pitcher matchups, we see it this way: Games 1, 4, 7 starters - BH SP Jason Tonelli (15-9, 4.11) < Obe SP Trolley Dodge (12-9, 3.78) Games 2, 5 starters - BH SP Mike Cartrette (9-7, 4.05) < Obe SP Emperry Alizm (18-8, 2.77) Games 3, 6 starters - BH SP Max Thunderdome (18-7, 4.04) < Obe SP Mesquite Williams (13-8, 3.78) Closers - BH CL Rafe Sauce (36 SV, 3.65) < Obe CL William Butcherman (28 SV, 1.89) Best RP 1 - BH RP Harley Buechel (2-2, 4.95) < Obe RP Dan Beantown (7-6, 3.19) Best RP 2 - BH SP Jerry Weisman (13-9, 4.16) > Obe SP/RP Zaire Inquisitor (7-3, 3.92) In this case, Oberland is much more dominant overall in pitching and should be able to hold the 75ers' offense down more than Bunker Hill can to the T-51s offense. Prediction Oberland just looks too tough. Having easily handled both Spectacle Island and Vault 81, we do not see anymore resistance by Bunnker Hill, though we will play this on the safe side. The 75ers got impressive victories over both Sunshine Tidings and Starlight in showing that they were truly boss in both the Institute League and North Charles Association. We're going to go conservative and pick this one to go six. Oberland 4, Bunker Hill 2 |
On paper it seems like Oberland will win it, but curious to see who comes out on top. It feels pretty even but the T-51s have had little resistance getting here

Stickhouse was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 as he overpowered the Oberland T-51s, enabling Bunker Hill to grab the 11-5 win and move into a 3-3 tie in the best-of-7 series. Grool Manycaps, the Bunker Hill third baseman, contributed a 2-run double in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 6-3, 75ers. For the game, Manycaps went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. "I just tried to make good contact," said Stickhouse. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715431257 Game 7: Bunker Hill 4, Oberland 2 Bunker Hill Wins Sole Survivor Series! Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better. It was the latter case in 2308, as the Bunker Hill 75ers topped the Oberland T-51s 4-2 tonight at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium to win the Sole Survivor Series. It was the 1st title in franchise history. Jason Tonelli earned the win with two earned runs allowed in 7.0 innings. Rafe Sauce pitched the final two innings for the save. The 75ers took control of the low-scoring final game early. In the bottom of the 1st, Brightsun Ramos led off the game with a home run off Oberland pitcher Emperry Alizm. After Jig McGhee walked and Aaron Squire singled, Matt Stickhouse singled to drive in the second run. Emerald Sapphire then walked to load the bases with no outs. With two outs and the bases still loaded, Darth Horse walked for a 3-0 advantage. It was all Bunker Hill needed to win the seventh game. "When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said Bunker Hill right fielder Brightsun Ramos, who was named series MVP. Ramos batted .483 on 14 of 29 batting with four doubles, three home runs, three walks, eight RBI, and six runs scored. The 75ers took the series 4-3. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a second-place finish in the North Charles Association Institute League and a 75-46 record. Bunker Hill manager Puddin Greenwall grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Ramos's words. "Brightsun said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said. Hometown officials announced they were already planning a "grand celebration" for the winners in the days to come. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715431257 Series Stats https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715431257 Final Playoff Tree https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715431262 Bunker Hill Team https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715431262 |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, College, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 23 October 2308 CBO Offseason Begins The 2308 Offseason has begun with the Bunker Hill 75ers the new champions of the CBO. We have several news items to discuss as we enter the offseason and move toward the 2309 season, the last of the 24-team league, with the CBO expected to expand to 28 for the 2310 season. In other news, the BYDL and SCYL are no more as the two leagues have merged to become a 64-team Commonwealth Youth League. Four new youth teams, the Acton Ups, Georgetown Scholars, Littleton Beasts, and Rockport Seafarers, have joined the league. Also, the Concord-Lexington Minuteboys have split, with Lexington maintaining the Minuteboys name while Concord will all flow to the 111 Iceboys, now known as the Concord Iceboys. Additionally, the JP-UP Death Rockets will be fully in Jamaica Plain and will take on the CBO's Red Rockets' original team name, the Treasures. A full look at the teams and the realignment of divisions, maintaining the names of famous Bostonians, is shown at the end of this article. CBO Records for 2308 Games played - 121 - tied with 20 players. Five players played a 121st game in 2308. Complete Games - 11 - tied with three players. Both SP Ugio Church of Nordhagen Beach and SP Eugene Gym of Sunshine Tidings tied SP Beachboy Nut's record for complete games set in 2301. Innings Pitched - 244.0 - SP Beachboy Nut, Nordhagen Beach. Nut beat the previous record of 239.0 IP set by SP Nuke Laloosh and SP Exxie Summerset in 2306. Home Runs Allowed - 43 - SP Copper Geffre, Atom. Geffre allowed more home runs by the previous record holders (four players, including a tie for that previous record by SPs Major Tom Brennan of Easy Town and Jim Livermore of Fort Hagen) of 41. CBO Prospect List Now that the season has finished, it's time to look forward to the future, and what better way than to look at the brightest future stars of the league, courtesy of BNN. This year, 20 year-old 1B Kilometers Davis of the The Slog Ghouls is the #1 prospect overall. He hit .371 with 40 home runs and 103 RBI with the Ghouls' BMU team, the Mass Pike Radroaches. BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, College, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 30 October 2308 Rookie Draft Preview OSA scouts have updated their Mock Draft less than a week from the 2308 Rookie Draft. With Concord holding the first-overall pick, OSA scouts believe they will take SS Slip Knotty of Green Future. Scouts believe that Knotty will be a stronghold at the SS position and be a middle-of-the-lineup hitter once he fully develops. Knotty is a big SS at 6'3" and has the frame to be both powerful and lanky enough to have a large range on the infield. The scouts' top player, CF Ziggy Stardust of Needham, is expected to go 7th overall to Atom. Stardust is considered a five-tool player who could dominate at the top of a lineup through a combination of good contact and power, as well as stellar speed for running the bases. He is also considered the top defensive outfielder in the 2308 draft with great range to get to almost any ball. The first pitcher expected to come off the board is SP Sluggo Pyne of Beantown to Goodneighbor at 5th overall. Though he was injured for most of the 2307 season, Pyne is expected to develop into a three-pitch pitcher with great stuff and movement on his pitches. Both his fastball and splitter are much better than his changeup, so he will need to develop that pitch and probably work on a fourth pitch, like a curve. The first college player expected to come off the board is CF Sting McGee of the CIT Engineers as the 6th pick of the 2nd Round to the Hancocks. McGee was considered a top prospect at West Quincy which was considered a career-ending injury at the time. However, after help from reconstructive surgery at the Institute, McGee was able to rehabilitate his shoulder and joined the Engineers for the 2308 season to resurrect his career. In 57 games with CIT, McGee batted .346 with 45 runs scored, 25 RBI, and 12 stolen bases. The complete 1st round mock is below. |
You know, that was a good matchup we hadn't had before. Interesting for Bunker Hill to power to a win so early on in their history/rebrand. Should give them some clout. I think neutrals would have really liked this season.

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, College, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 5 November 2308 CBO Draft Results The 2308 Rookie Draft is now complete with the Concord Radstags pulling a bit of a surprise and drafting 1B Cy Sutcliff of the Littleton Beasts as the #1 overall pick. The Beasts are joining the newly-formed Commonwealth Youth League in the 2309 season. Sutcliff was dominant playing against independent teams though statistics were difficult to compile. Sutcliff was able to display some of his skills in official scrimmages against youth league teams in both the Boston Commonwealth and Bradberton. In one game against the Mad Mulligan Travelers of the Bradberton Boys League, Sutcliff hit four home runs, including two grand slams, and drove in 13 runs. OSA scouts like him but did not have him as an officially endorsed player until Littleton joined the CYL as one of the 64 teams. According to scouts, Sutcliff is bound to be a cleanup hitter who will hit for average and a high volume of home runs. He is decent as a first baseman and can become a natural-born leader on whatever team he populates. Stoneham's OF Eli Durus was the #2 overall pick by Fort Hagen. Durus finished his BYDL career with a .336 average with 73 home runs and 221 RBI. He is considered to be a great all-around hitter, but power is his main game. He can be effective in either of the corner OF spots, giving him some durability to advance quickly through the minors. The talented SS Slip Knotty of Green Future was the 3rd overall pick by Diamond City. Knotty is a good, not great, defensive shortstop, but his bat is what will get him to the CBO. Knotty showed in his senior season that his bat was improving, batting .329 with 17 home runs and 50 RBI. While his strikeout numbers are not great, scouts believe he will be able to generate high OBP by walking more than striking out once he reaches his potential. With the 4th pick, the FHE Yao Guai selected 1B Cyclone Bolt out of Danvers. Bolt crushed the ball in his four years with the Perception, batting .358 with 81 home runs and 264 RBI. Scouts consider him to be a great defensive 1B, though FHE may want to try him at 3B in the minors to see if they can develop him there. His glove is extraordinary, which helps him to turn many would-be doubles into outs. His bat still needs some development for the CBO, but he is a spray hitter who uses pitch location to his advantage. He is considered to be better at getting on base than driving in runs, but he has the frame to progress to a power hitter. 1B Whitebear Whittington of Concord-Lexington was the 5th pick by Lexington. Whittington is still growing into his body, but he showed his sheer power potential, improving from 1 home run in his sophomore year to 16 in his junior season (his first as a full-time starter) to 25 his senior season. Scouts believe he could battle for the league lead in home runs each season once he finishes growing and building more muscle. The scouts' highest-ranked player, CF Ziggy Stardust of Needham, was picked 6th by Goodneighbor. It is an interesting pick that some believe could be trade fodder for improving the CBO team since they already have the CBO's best CF in Missile Crews. However, Stardust could move to a corner OF spot, giving the Hancocks great offense and defense from the outfield. Stardust is considered a sometimes impatient but efficient hitter and runner. He batted .372 with 63 home runs, 239 RBI, 280 runs, and 64 stolen bases in his career with the Radstorm. Unfortunately, he also set the BYDL (now CYL) record for caught stealing in his career with 55. The highest-picked player from the now defunct SCYL was SP Burt Bloodhound, the 2nd pitcher off the board and the 14th pick by Easy Town. The three-time All Star, Bloodhound is a four-pitch starter with a great fastball and sinker. He also has a good screwball and developing changeup. Scouts believe he has all the tools to become an ace and will have a high K-to-BB ratio. In his four seasons with the Beacons, Bloodhound struck out 526 batters and walked 100. 2B Snag Roper of Boston College was the first college player taken ad the 27th overall pick and third player of the 2nd round. With the Eagles, Roper batted .350 with 13 home runs and 67 RBI. Scouts expect Roper to be well-balanced at the plate though he is not expected to amaze in any one area. He is not the speediest of runners, but he does have good range in the infield, helping him to break up hits and steal the occasional base. The first of some expected steals in the draft include first of all 5th-round pick, OF Fergus O'Mara of Beantown. Rated as having 80 potential by scouts, the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets took him as the 114th overall pick. O'Mara started to develop into having a draft stock in his senior season, which could be a reason he fell to the 5th round. He is considered to have the potential to generate lots of home runs and free passes, making him a dangerous batter for high OBP and OPS. He can also play any OF position, though scouts believe he will eventually settle in LF. Two steals in the 7th round are 3B Zane Comet of Provincetown selected as the 151st overall pick by Atom and 1B Cleve Guard of Woburn selected as the 161st pick by Nordhagen Beach. Both players were considered as potential high picks based on potential over youth league production. Comet struggled in his senior season, dropping his draft stock despite his potential. He is capable of hitting lots of home runs once he puts more muscle on his long frame. He hit 17 homers his junior season but fell to just one his senior season. Guard's best asset was his ability to get the bat on the ball, though working on getting the ball over infielders will be his key to development in the minors. He played a combination of 2B and 1B with the Diners, but projects as a good defensive 1B. The last steal was again by the Rockets, C Thunder Tom Hamilton of Marlborough, selected 186th overall in the 8th round. Hamilton could never work his way to be a full-time starter with the Minigunners, but he has the potential to carry a big stick with a good balance of average and power. He needs to strengthen his arm, which is a liability for his team in throwing out runners. Scouts like his power potential, though it was noted that all of his 17 career home runs came on favorable count fastballs. He is a prospect worth watching. Complete results are below. Pitcher Award. Nut was spectacular in 31 starting assignments with 17 wins and 4 losses, 244 innings, 185 strikeouts and a fine 2.77 ERA. He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Ugio Church of the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys finished second in voting, while Bill Sarnacki of the Starlight Killers finished third. He pitched his way to a 18-8 record and carted off the 2308 South Charles Association Vim! Pitcher Award. Working 227.2 innings this year, Alizm made 30 starts, struck out 210 and crafted a 2.77 ERA. He gave up 165 hits and 62 walks and limited other teams to a .203 average. He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Greenwall struggled to find the right words. "My father was a drill instructor in the military. He taught me that you have to work hard, set goals and accept responsibility for your actions. That's what the entire Bunker Hill organization did this year. My dedicated owner, coaching staff, hard-working and talented players and loyal front office all made this award possible. I thank them for it." And what a year it was. Greenwall sparked the 75ers to a 75-46 record and a second in the North Charles Association Institute League standings. SCA Manager - Vault 81 manager Dan Ferreri caused quite a stir when he came to town. Noted for his feisty, no-nonsense attitude, Ferreri threw his all into the 2308 campaign, winning over critics and fans as he went. He also won a few ballgames, running up a 72-48 record, which was good enough to take the second place spot in the South Charles Association Railroad League standings. "These guys are grown men. They don't need psychobabble, they need to win ballgames," Ferreri snapped at his first press conference. While his approach was controversial, even for Vault 81, it netted the 47-year-old the South Charles Association Manager of the Year trophy. In response to which he replied, "It ain't molecular physics, it's baseball," and began discussing potential free agents with the local media. NCA Rookie - For several weeks the rumor mill had it that the 2308 Red Rocket Rookie Award winner was a foregone conclusion and the trophy would go to Lexington first baseman, Family Sam Partridge. It is no longer a rumor -- the North Charles Association made it official today. Partridge won the award by hitting .320 and collecting 130 hits, 29 home runs, 67 RBIs and 59 walks. He scored 75 runs and posted a .408 on-base percentage. He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Brian DeLong of the Salem Witch Hats finished second in voting, while Gavin Deux-Gas of the The Slog Ghouls finished third. When the dust cleared on the baseball diamonds this year, the top-rated rookie was Admiral Kelm of the Egret Ninjas, the latest winner of the South Charles Association Red Rocket Rookie Award. The Ninjas starter nailed down the award by compiling a 13-11 record in 30 starts, striking out 140, while walking 101 in 212 innings, and posting a 5.18 ERA. He also batted .300 with 12 home runs and 43 RBI in 263 at-bats from the pitcher and outfield positions. He received 17 first place votes out of a possible 24. The 29-year-old out of Brookline, Massachusetts captured the award with 28 saves in 45 relief appearances, 50 strikeouts in 47.2 innings and a record of 2 wins and 1 loss to go with his 1.89 ERA. For being incredibly valuable on the defensive side of the game, the following players have been given the Corvega Top Defender Award for 2308: Pitcher Whokill Poole (Starlight Killers) Catcher Stuart Costantino (Nahant Celtics) First Baseman Zeldolph Violet (County Crossing Bloodbugs) Second Baseman Elton Goodspeed (The Slog Ghouls) Third Baseman Dog Prairie (Easy Town Assaultrons) Shortstop Aaron Squire (Bunker Hill 75ers) Left Fielder Sean Samuels (Easy Town Assaultrons) Center Fielder Maxx Murtagh (Nordhagen Beach Party Boys) Right Fielder Gene Leftswipe (Nahant Celtics) SCA Defense - "Hit 'em where they ain't" is a great hitting philosophy, but it doesn't always work when a fielder can seemingly appear out of nowhere to make the play. These magicians are often taken for granted as the season grinds along, but today they take center stage. The South Charles Association Corvega Top Defender Award selections for 2308 are: Pitcher Village Idiot Recker (Quincy Gunners) Catcher Racky Westheim (Oberland T-51s) First Baseman Barker Cocoa (University Point Deathclaws) Second Baseman Da Game (Oberland T-51s) Third Baseman Donn Mattingley (Roxbury Rad Sox) Shortstop Hopper Hayes (Egret Ninjas) Left Fielder Todd Smithfield (Diamond City Swatters) Center Fielder Missile Crews (Goodneighbor Hancocks) Right Fielder Gargoyle Falcone (Jamaica Plain Red Rockets) CBO Transactions Friday, November 6th , 2308 Jamaica Plain Red Rockets: Signed 1B Kage Milkcan. Minor League Team Changes There were not a lot of changes overall in the CBO's minors going into 2309. Two changes are the Trinity Plaza Snipers (University Point) relocating to Rockland to be the Rockland Snipers. All team colors will remain the same. The other change was that the Breakheart Banks Behemoths have decided to change their team name to be unique in known baseball leagues in the Commonwealth. In the Vim! League's Mount Desert Island League, a former Vim! League team but now affiliate of the Far Harbor team is the Brooke's Head Behemoths. Sunshine Tidings has decided to change its GBRL team to a more fun team name, renaming the Behemoths to the Breakheart Banks Sugar Bombs in honor of the Commonwealth's favorite breakfast cereal. Sunshine Tidings did not have a 1st-round pick, but their second-round pick, 3B Ori Reuven of Wellesley, was assigned to the GBRL team. His baseball card in the new home uniform is below. Also, 3rd round pick, CL Sparky Atomatoys of Marblehead is shown in the away uniform. |

The BBL and Maine Youth Leagues operated by the Vim! League had an absence of draftees eligible for drafting in 2308, so 2309 will include twice as many teams from north and east of Bradberton mostly across the Connecticut River. Multiple players were allowed into the Season Pass Association draft, prompting multiple players taken that never participated in either the BBL or MYL. The following teams will make up an Eastern Division of the BBL for 2309: Bay Path Voyagers Collegetown Spirits Chicopee Galaxy Forest Park Brahmiluffs Holyoke Mech Dragons Hadley Falls Reactors Hilltop Farm Melonheads Sherwood Manor Sasquatch While the league has committed to a new league name, there are reports that they are considering an agreement that matches the league name with a Commonwealth theme. |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, College, and Youth Leagues by Nat Wright-Kawolski 4 January 2309 New Year, New Hopes The new year is here, and excitement for what the CBO will bring has come to a fever pitch. With the changes in the Commonwealth Youth League with the merging of leagues, the CBO is hosting a Youth Invitational pitting all 64 teams in a random-draw double-elimination tournament to start the 2309 season. In Commonwealth Baseball Organization news, the CBO is making final preparations for expanding to a 28-team league. Teams in Malden (BL), Cambridge (IL), South Boston (ML), and Vault 95 (RL) will make their debuts. Current teams will need to make decisions following this season on which players they wish to protect from a planned Expansion Draft following the 2309 Rookie Draft. Further information will be provided as we know it. The Vault 95 team will make a distinct change in the Commonwealth, sporting the first "domed" stadium which will keep them from having multiple games postponed or canceled due to the large number of radstorms coming from the Glowing Sea. In the Commonwealth, more of the subway lines are due to open, making traveling around the Commonwealth both speedier and safer. Future expansion to other parts of the Commonwealth, including Bradberton and Far Harbor, has been discussed but is not currently in the works. With further construction in the Boston Commonwealth, Quincy has decided to move its BMU team, the Boston Common Lead Bellies out of Boston to a settlement closer to Quincy in Hull. The team will maintain the Lead Bellies name but has been slightly changed for the Hull area. It is the first baseball team at any level to be located in the coastal settlement. Two outstanding players from the 2308 team, 1B Winslow Beaver and 3B Keg Gutterson, showed off the new look. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715721343 https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1715721343 CBO Transactions Thursday, December 31st , 2308 Jamaica Plain Red Rockets: Signed 1B Arvel Crynyd.
