https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1623123150 BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 15 October 2309 2309 Sole Survivor Series: Nordhagen Beach Party Boys vs University Point Deathclaws Party Like It's 2309! With their sweep of the University Point Deathclaws, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys are now three-time champions, giving them a few historical accomplishments. The Party Boys had already made it to a CBO-record sixth Sole Survivor Series. They have now won a CBO-record third championship. But beyond that, the Boys have done something else. This was the second time the Sole Survivor Series ended in a sweep with the first time coming in 2298 when the Goodneighbor Hancocks swept the Easy Town Assaultrons. However, Nordhagen Beach did something that no other team could do: go undefeated in the playoffs. The Boys swept County Crossing in three, Bunker Hill in four, and University Point in four. And there's more! The Boys' path also involved the other three latest champions not including themselves, with the Bloodbugs (2306), 75ers (2308), and Deathclaws (2305). Nordhagen Beach had the other championship in 2307. The Playoff Tree is below, followed by the stories for Games 3 and 4, and finally the team picture of the champions of 2309. The Party Boys are ready to party out the rest of the year. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1717639005 Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 6 at University Point 5 Party Boys Win Again, Extend Series Lead to 3-0 A sweep is in sight. The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys overcame a spirited performance by University Point second baseman Chris Recore to knock off the Deathclaws, 6-5, at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Game 3 of the Sole Survivor Series. Recore went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times but could not will the Deathclaws to victory. Nordhagen Beach now sits on a 3-0 advantage and has its eyes on sweeping the best-of-7 series. Nordhagen Beach used the bat of Aaron Sinn to capture the win. The third baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Party Boys ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy. "We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Sinn. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1717639005 Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 9 at University Point 8 Nordhagen Beach Sweeps University Point It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, that meant the Commonwealth Baseball Organization Sole Survivor Series trophy. The Party Boys took a 9-8 victory over the University Point Deathclaws at Gwinnett Brewery Park, winning their 3rd championship after taking the series 4-0. Nordhagen Beach catcher Biter Trout earned Game MVP honors, going 3 for 5 with a double, a run, and two RBI. His backup, Clownie Blammo, also added two RBI on a pinch-hit two-run home run in the top of the 8th in what turned out to be the game-clinching hit. Pinch-hitting rookie Gorgeous DiGiacomo led off the clinching inning with a triple, followed by a Bobb County RBI single before Blammo's homer. "We've got grit," said Party Boys third baseman Aaron Sinn, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to." Sinn went 6 for 14 (.429) with two home runs, a walk, three runs, and seven RBI. The Boys won despite ace Beachboy Nut struggling, allowing six earned runs on nine hits with two walks and a strikeout in 7.0 innings. Still, Nut (4-0) earned the victory thanks to the Boys' comeback. 1B Barker Cocoa of the Claws hit a three-run blast off Nut, his fifth home run of the playoffs, third in the Series, and second off Nut in the Series. He also hit one off Nut in Game 1. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the North Charles Association Brotherhood League and a 76-44 record. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1717639005 Nordhagen Beach Team Picture https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1717639008 |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 18 October 2309 CBO Prepares for Changes The CBO is no longer a league of 24. In 2310, there will be 28 teams in the CBO with the addition of a new team per league: the Cambridge Coursers, Glowing Sea Radscorpions, Malden Grognaks, and Southie Brews. The CBO is also expanding to six playoff teams per association with each of the league winners earning a bye and four wildcard teams per association playing for the right to meet the league winners. The first round will now be known as the Wildcard Round with all other rounds remaining the same. Each round will continue in the 3-5-7 games per series format. For the Rookie Draft, each of the four expansion teams will draft behind the six CBO teams that finished with a record below a .400 winning percentage. Afterward, they will draft at the top of Rounds 2-15. The top 10 picks will be in the following order for the 1st round: 1. Lexington 2. FHE 3. Concord 4. Diamond City 5. Goodneighbor 6. Atom 7. Southie 8. Glowing Sea 9. Camden 10. Malden Following the Rookie Draft, there will be a 35-round Expansion Draft on November 7 where the four expansion teams will choose players from the existing CBO teams. BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 25 October 2309 CBO Draft Outlook With the draft order set, assuming no draft pick trades, the OSA scouts are back on the tail to figure out who is going where in the 2309 Rookie Draft. They have not changed their minds about their expected 1st round order of draft picks, so let's take a look at the final four players who were not in the original mock since it involved only 24 teams. In this, we'll place the team name associated with the draft pick in our analysis of the rest of the 1st-round prospects. 25. University Point - SS Philip Eilhart, Worcester Crows - In his four-year career with the Wattz/Worcester youth team, Eilhart was a good all-around player, batting .311 with 50 home runs, 205 runs, 188 RBI, and 84 stolen bases. He is a good fastball hitter but needs to work on offspeed stuff. He is a good defensive player and has good speed that can lead to lots of stolen bases. Some scouts think he should be chosen higher in the 1st round. 26. Nordhagen Beach - LF Cal Drogo, Rockland Seafarers - Drogo played one season in the CYL with Rockland joining this past season. He was the full-time LF his entire time with the Seafarers. In his senior season, his power game stepped up, hitting 17 home runs as he has now developed more. Scouts think his best quality in hitting will be his power game. He is also a decent corner outfielder who can play CF in a pinch. 27. Starlight - SP Dixie Williams, Danvers Perception - Williams is a player with potential over production, according to scouts. While his youth numbers are not bad, he was never a dominant pitcher. In his four-year career with the Perception, Williams went 27-25 with a 4.23 ERA in 79 starts. In 457.1 innings, he walked 150 batters and struck out 423. Scouts think he could be the type to either be a 4th starter or RP. He has a great fastball and a solid changeup. His third pitch, the sinker, needs a lot of work. 28. Oberland - 2B Mav Coreburst, South Beach Waves - Coreburst may be a player trending down in his draft stock, so a 1st-round pick for him may be a surprise. He certainly has good potential, but he saw his batting average and home runs depreciate each season with his best year coming in his freshman year where he hit .379 with 19 home runs. In his senior season, he had career lows of .262 with 10 home runs. His defense is solid, which could help him, but he needs to swing back to improving his offense to ever make it to the CBO. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1717719013 CBO Transactions Saturday, October 23rd , 2309 The Nahant Celtics traded 24-year old RHP Jalep Temper, 18-year old minor league RHP Gracie Geiger, 19-year old minor league RHP Xerox Onatopp, and 22-year old minor league 1B Turner Velociraptor to the Spectacle Island Reapers, getting 26-year old 3B Diamond Ball in return. Wednesday, October 20th , 2309 Glowing Sea Radscorpions: Signed Manager Stripes Hughes. Tuesday, October 19th , 2309 Easy Town Assaultrons: Signed Manager Megaphone Silva. |

Toth struggled to find the right words. "My father was a drill instructor in the military. He taught me that you have to work hard, set goals and accept responsibility for your actions. That's what the entire Nordhagen Beach organization did this year. My dedicated owner, coaching staff, hard-working and talented players and loyal front office all made this award possible. I thank them for it." And what a year it was. Toth sparked the Party Boys to a 76-44 record and a first in the North Charles Association Brotherhood League standings. SCA Manager - The Egret Ninjas had an outstanding season, much of it due to their astute and gifted skipper. For his managerial excellence, Cozy Burmaster reaped the reward of being voted South Charles Association Manager of the Year. "A manager is only as good as the players he's managing," Burmaster told reporters. "If I didn't have the talent to work with, making all the right moves wouldn't have helped a bit." Under Burmaster the Ninjas finished second in the South Charles Association Railroad League with a record of 71-49. NCA Rookie - Today the BBN baseball writers announced the winner of the North Charles Association Red Rocket Rookie Award. The premier rookie in 2309 was The Slog first baseman Kilometers Davis. He finished the regular season with a .299 batting average, 28 doubles, 2 triples and 33 home runs. Davis also had 90 RBIs and scored 79 times. He received 28 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Pogo Cliffhanger of the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud finished second in voting, while Pokey Chatman of the Salem Witch Hats finished third. In 2309 the Goodneighbor first baseman was solid performer with a .235 batting average, 18 home runs and 77 RBIs. Mirv also had 71 walks and posted a .349 on-base percentage. He received 20 first place votes out of a possible 28. Baker Dozen of the FHE Yao Guai finished second in voting with 8 first place votes, while Flint Firefist of the Atom Cats finished third. The 31-year-old bullpen ace, out of Milford, Massachusetts, nailed down the award with 30 saves in 52 relief appearances, 47 strikeouts in 53.1 innings and a record of 3 wins and 5 losses to go with his 3.04 ERA. He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 28. The South Charles Association calls him the winner of the Fallon's Reliever Award for 2309. The Oberland T-51s relief specialist out of Brookline, Massachusetts, won the award with 41 saves in 58 relief appearances, 64 strikeouts in 61 innings and 29 walks. He compiled a record of 5 wins and 3 losses and had a 1.92 ERA. He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 28. Josh Samm of the Diamond City Swatters finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Rob O'Cop of the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets finished third. Player - Team - First Place - Total Points William Butcherman - Oberland T-51s - 27 - 138 Josh Samm - Diamond City Swatters - 1 - 86 Rob O'Cop - Jamaica Plain Red Rockets - 0 - 28 NCA Defense - The Corvega Top Defender Award winners don't get the recognition of the home run hitters, but they are very much appreciated by managers, their teammates and by the fans, who know the value of defensive excellence. Great defense makes a difference in baseball. This year's top glovemen in the North Charles Association are: Pitcher Whokill Poole (Starlight Killers) Catcher Stuart Costantino (Nahant Celtics) First Baseman Mike Truk (Concord Radstags) Second Baseman Elton Goodspeed (The Slog Ghouls) Third Baseman Dog Prairie (Easy Town Assaultrons) Shortstop Aaron Squire (Bunker Hill 75ers) Left Fielder B.J. Perez (Sunshine Tidings Chemists) Center Fielder Maxx Murtagh (Nordhagen Beach Party Boys) Right Fielder Gene Leftswipe (Nahant Celtics) SCA Defense - "Flashing the leather" and "good with the glove" are ways to describe players who help their teams by playing great defense. Today the most dependable glovemen in the South Charles Association for 2309 were announced. Corvega Top Defender Awards will be presented to these top-notch defenders: Pitcher Justin Sumbich (Spectacle Island Reapers) Catcher Racky Westheim (Oberland T-51s) First Baseman Barker Cocoa (University Point Deathclaws) Second Baseman Da Game (Oberland T-51s) Third Baseman Donn Mattingley (Roxbury Rad Sox) Shortstop Hopper Hayes (Egret Ninjas) Left Fielder Jesus Church (Egret Ninjas) Center Fielder McCrew Gillens (Quincy Gunners) Right Fielder Joe Rathmann (Vault 81 Dwellers) CBO Draft Outlook In this final outlook before we draft later this week, we will take a look at players scouts think could find success in the CBO but are not projected in the top round. 2nd round rating - 2B Noodle Mechanist, Jamaica Plain Treasures - The 2B for the Treasures (was Jamaica Plain-University Point Death Rockets), Mechanist had a successful career but saw his average drop to .244 in 2309. Scouts think he has the talent but question his love for the game. If he does turn it on, Mechanist has a good combination of bat, defense, and speed. 3rd round rating - 3B Slammin' Sammy Holloway, Lowell Frags - Holloway is a potential power-hitting gem for a team that has the ability to develop him. He only managed 67 home runs in his four-year career with the Fraternal Post 115 Leaders and now the Frags, but scouts think he could develop into a pure home run machine. His defense also needs some work, so he is a pure project that some team may be happy to have in the 3rd. 4th round rating - SP Darby Doyle, Lexington Minuteboys - Doyle came on in his senior season, going 8-1 with a 2.25 ERA, and an outstanding 0.98 WHIP. He has a dominating fastball but needs to develop his splitter and changeup more. While he only walked 32 batters in 100.0 innings, his 83 strikeouts were often based on players trying to guess at his pitches rather than throwing a lot of strikes. 5th round rating - 1B Gyp Rosetti, North Providence Phantoms - Rosetti is another of those players who sole baseball acumen is swinging for the fence. His homer or die mentality needs some work, but he did not get a lot of playing time due to his inconsistencies at the plate and on the field. Scouts think he has the ability to develop his skills to choose better pitches to swing at, and he could be a decent fielder in time, too. CBO Transactions Tuesday, October 26th , 2309 The Roxbury Rad Sox traded 30-year old RF Deerlord Fugivmee and 22-year old minor league RF Sourface Velazquez to the Bunker Hill 75ers, getting 30-year old RF Brightsun Ramos in return. |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 8 November 2309 DRAFTS!!!! CBO Rookie Draft The first expanded Rookie Draft took place on November 5 with the Lexington Synths selecting 1B Juu Racetrack from the Littleton Beasts as the first overall pick. Commissioner Nate Howard also made an announcement about the future of the feeder leagues for the CBO, stating that there would be an active push to expand the Commonwealth Youth League out to the entirety of the Commonwealth in the next decade. "We have 64 teams participating," Howard stated, "but there are youth teams that expand out beyond just the Boston and Massachusetts areas. We want to include them, too. We already have teams from the former Rhode Island area, but we want to have teams in Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine participating, too." For the 2309 Rookie Draft, many teams rated players on different assets. Racetrack was predicted to be the #1 overall pick by OSA scouts, but the rest of the draft did not go as they predicted. For example, FHE took Innis Sark of Spectacle Island, listed as a 1B, 2nd overall, but named his position as LF, meaning they plan to play him in the outfield. With the third pick, Concord took 1B Token Okamoto from Beerthirty. He is a bit of a surprise pick since his last two seasons with the Sippers was as a backup to 1B Lone Wolf Leo Gamma-Ray, who went 5th overall to Goodneighbor. Diamond City made the first surprise pick when they took SP Gary Harvard of Beantown as the 4th overall pick. OSA Scouts did not rate Harvard as a 1st round pick, but Harvard is a highly-talented pitcher who had a couple injuries in 2309 (none to his throwing arm) that hurt his stock. OSA scouts believe that Harvard will be a borderline starter, but the Swatters see something in Harvard for them to take him so highly. In all, six pitchers were taken in the first round: 7th overall - Southie Brews: Sham Killarney, Sudbury Celebs - Killarney was the first pick taken by an expansion team. Killarney had a healthy senior season, going 5-5 with a 2.85 ERA. Killarney mostly used two pitches in high school but has been working to develop his seldom-used changeup and develop a curveball, two pitches he is expected to use a lot in the minors. 8th overall - Glowing Sea Radscorpions: Ethan Hammond, Sudbury Celebs - Who knew that the Celebs had pitchers? Hammond went 5-9 with a 4.74 ERA his senior season, but the Radscorpions like his five pitches and hope to develop him further. OSA sees his ceiling as being a top of the rotation pitcher, though maybe not ace-material. 12th overall - Easy Town Assaultrorns: Malcolm Stein, Belmont Sneakers - Stein is another pitcher who saw his draft stock seemingly drop after he had shoulder problems his senior season. Before his injury, he was 3-1 with a 3.19 ERA and struck out 34 batters in 36.2 innings. Scouts seem him developing as a starter in the CBO, though he will be in the 2nd half of the rotation. 22nd overall - Fort Hagen Silver Shroud: Nick Soulless, Wareham Comets - Soulless was a relief pitcher for the Comets, but the Shroud believe that he is capable of learning bender pitches due to good movement potential. Therefore, he is expected to be developed as a starter. Scouts are not confident he will ever become ace quality but believe he could develop as an effective starter in time. 27th overall - Starlight Killers: Dixie Williams, Danvers Perception - Williams was predicted to be the first pitcher taken instead of the sixth, but he does have quality potential and goes to a good franchise that can develop his skills. Scouts see him as a bottom-of-the-rotation starter, but the Killers hope he can develop. Some players' stocks fell for unknown reasons despite high grades by OSA scouts. One player that stands out is RF A-Train Gilmore, North Providence, who was expected to be a 1st-round pick but dropped into the 2nd round, 50th overall, to Egret. Gilmore can play anywhere in the outfield and scouts believe he will develop into a multipurpose hitter despite his lack of production with the Phantoms. A few post-5th rounders stood out as good value according to OSA scouts. In the 6th round, third pick, the Cambridge Coursers took RF Stash Musial out of Wareham. Musial is a potential over production pick, but scouts have him with a high ceiling to become a good all-around hitter. Concord's 11th round pick, 2B Quinn Labcorp of North Providence is another player OSA scouts liked a lot. Labcorp is another of those potential over production players, batting just .167 his senior season. The Radstags will hope to develop his hitting and potentially convert him from a SS role where he was OK to a solid defensive 2B in the minors. With the 25th pick of the 14th round, University Point drafted C Nolan Starr out of Braintree. Starr needs a lot of work to develop his bat, but he is already considered a good defensive catcher with the ability right now to be a defensive replacement for a team. If his bat does develop, he could be the biggest steal of the 2309 Rookie Draft. We have published the complete Rookie and Expansion Drafts at the bottom of this article. Expansion Draft The expansion draft held on November 7 was in a "snake" model where each team that picked first in one round picked last in the next round. The order in the 1st round was the reverse of the order in the Rookie Draft for the expansion teams. In all, each expansion team selected 35 players to be a part of their new franchise. With the 1st overall pick, the Malden Grognaks selected RF Bat Savelli from Egret. Savelli had been relegated to the bench for the past four seasons, but he started in RF for the Ninjas the previous six seasons. Salem CL Justin Wilkerson was selected by the Cambridge Coursers as the 2nd pick. Wilkerson had 31 saves and a 3.28 ERA in 2309 with the Witch Hats. Reliever and former closer for Nahant, RP Justin Costcaps went 3rd to Glowing Sea. In 2308, he had 38 saves and a 1.74 ERA for the Celtics. Costcaps may be either bullpen or a starter with the Radscorpions. 1B Jackie Shepherd was the final 1st Round pick by Southie. Formerly of Nordhagen Beach, Shepherd only enjoyed being a starter in the CBO from 2304-2306 while with Quincy. In his CBO career, he has batted .271 with 34 home runs and 116 RBI. We have published the complete Expansion Draft following the Rookie Draft. Expansion is always exciting! I'm already partial to the Glowing Sea Radscorpions. Awesome name!
Curious to see how the rest of the league is affected by losing a few side pieces. Maybe more parity? Or maybe just really, really bad expansion teams. Never know though, should be interesting either way Can't wait until we get far enough in where a first of the new batch of the teams makes the playoffs, wins a division, etc. Something tells me with the nature of the CBO it may not be too hard for a team starting from scratch to break into contention. Just need a few good rolls |

Season Pass Association News by Evan Guy 22 November 2309 Season Pass Association News and Rookie Draft The Season Pass Association held its annual draft yesterday, with the National Park Gulpers selecting Vape Locke of the Fizztop Mountain Conquerors as the first overall pick. The other top five picks in the draft were: 2. Cranberry Island Hermit Crabs - P Ek Uzun, Holyoke Mech Dragons 3. Quantum Nukalurks - LF Jannider Snoutlick, Ol Sugsartop Buckaroos 4. Wild Gatorclaws - RF Tucker Iceman, Wixon Shovels 5. Quartz Star Force - C Jester Wrexel, Starport Nuka Hubologists The Season Pass Association, which has had some waning interest now that there is easier access to higher-level baseball in the Boston area, has also made an agreement to sell players for caps to the CBO. No team is allowed to sell more than two players, if any are desired, and each transaction is expected to be a rate of 100,000 caps per player. CBO commissioner Nate Howard also met with the Bradberton Group about the transaction sequence, agreeing that teams that missed the 2308 playoffs will be the only teams with rights to purchase a single player per CBO team. The four expansion teams are expected to have first rights beginning this week and continuing until December 31. Interesting expansion. Could be a catalyst for change indeed as discussed. I knew it'd been banded about and in general I was in favor in principle but as for the individual teams I didn't know how I'd like the themeing until I saw them. I think all of these are pretty good, maybe the Brews are a weakpoint, but they're not bad, and they do fit in-universe. I think overall the owner selection is top notch and completes the picture.
On that front, can we have an overview of the rest of the teams' owners, if it's not too much trouble? It's been awhile since the league started so it's not as fresh in my mind as it used to be, plus while we haven't seen any big shakeups lately, there were a few throughout the course so that's muddied the waters. |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 26 November 2309 Salem Adds a Color Erin Reische has been working hard in the Office of Branding. While there are two teams supposedly looking for a rebrand for 2310, in addition to the four new teams, Reische has now released one team's new uniforms. I of course approve of those Salem uniforms, looking very Halloweenish. Like Candy Corn tbh. I mean, I hate candy corn, but it's on brand. (Candy Corn is apparently one of the top 3 most controversial candies, along with licorice and circus peanuts, I have no opinion of the former, and actually like the latter).

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 4 January 2310 New Decade, Grand Plans The clock now shows a new decade, and the Commonwealth Baseball Organization has announced other plans in accordance with the changing times. CBO Commissioner Nate Howard announced his State of the Organization, so to speak, detailing a few changes in 2310 and beyond. First of all, with the addition of four new teams, the CBO schedule will now change from its old format of 120 games to a 130-game format. Schedules will be released on February 27, which will also be the same date that he Nuka Cup Tournament begins. The Nuka Cup Tournament, the annual preseason tournament to showcase the teams and talent before the regular season begins, will change its format to accommodate the new franchises. The final four teams in the playoffs are still regional hosts, but the Round Robin format will change back to a bracket style with seven teams in a double-elimination format. Each regional will run as shown below. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1718062452 Each team is guaranteed at least two series of three games each with the series winner (2 or 3 wins) being considered the series winner. Once the Winners bracket and Losers bracket teams meet, the Winners bracket team will have a 1-0 lead with the first team to win three games considered the regional champion. That series will be between two and four games depending on results. After each region has declared a champion, the winning teams will meet in the semifinals with the highest remaining seed having home-field advantage for the remainder of the tournament. The tournament will begin on Sunday, February 27, and conclude on Saturday, March 26. In the Boston Collegiate Athletic Conference, two more Boston-area institutions are joining the league: the WInthrop College Guardians and the College of the Glowing Sea (GSC) Glowing Ones. Winthrop College has been an educational institution mostly made up of Brotherhood of Steel recruits. It first opened its doors in 2305. GSC is on the outer grounds of Vault 95 and specializes in radiation studies and the effects of fallout on the environment. GSC was founded in 2307. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1718062452https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1718062452 Howard's big announcement was what he called the New England Project 2320. Howard has toured other areas of the Commonwealth, which Howard has referred to as New England as pre-War parlance. Howard's goal is to continue expanding safety zones and transportation throughout the former states of New England: Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. According to Howard, by 2320, he would like over 100 youth teams and at least 25 universities with active baseball teams and educational facilities. Howard has called the New England Project his master plan before he retires as commissioner. |
New England really is the ideal place for this. My best friend and I were just talking about IRL the growth of soccer and woso and how the small travel distances make smaller places having teams viable. Obviously the challenges in Fallout are... unique... but comparable...
