BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 20 August 2310 Ground Control to Major Tom: No-Hitter Major Tom Brennan really did a number on the Malden Grognaks at Easy Town Field today -- and that number was zero. The Easy Town Assaultrons hurler had what he later called "one of the best moments of my life," tossing a no-hitter and leading the Assaultrons to victory, 1-0. "This is something special," Brennan said. "I knew from the fifth inning that I had a no-hitter working. I tried to get it out of my mind, but you just can't. They have too many scoreboards in the park. They're everywhere you look." The right-hander faced only 31 batters in the no-hit gem, struck out 8 and walked 4. "We simply couldn't get any wood on the ball," Malden manager Eric Bendure said when asked about the epic performance. "Brennan was brilliant out there. He certainly had our number." To date Brennan is 12-9 in 29 starts with a 3.86 ERA and has 156 strikeouts in 209.2 innings. |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 22 August 2310 Last Week of CBO Season Promises Exciting Finishes We are down to our final week of the 2310 season. As of now, we know of 8 of the 12 teams in, but there are still lots of chances for a few teams to move in, out, up, or down. Let's take a look at a few scenarios. First, let's start with the SCA since all six spots have been clinched. We just do not know where they will end up. As of the current standings, the seeds look like this: 1. z-Vault 81 2. z-University Point 3. z-Roxbury 4. z-Oberland 5. z-Quincy 6. z-Egret Vault 81 leads the Railroad league by two games over the Rad Sox. Pretty much. the Dwellers will be seed 1 or 3, assuming the bottom does not drop out. Roxbury is in a similar position where they will probably finish either as seed 1 or 3. In the Minutemen League, both University Point and Quincy are in. They are playing for the #2 seed and then anywhere from #4-6. The Deathclaws won the season series 6-4, so they are listed as the league leader. Oberland and Egret are also in, so they are just looking to win some games to improve their seeding. Ending up at #4 is ideal for the first round. Earning the #3 spot would be difficult but not impossible. NCA 1. x-Nordhagen Beach 2. z-Bunker Hill 3t. Starlight 3t. The Slog 5. Sunshine Tidings 6. County Crossing Nordhagen Beach has clinched the Brotherhood League, ensuring that they will finish as the #1 or #2 seed. The Party Boys have a four-game lead over Bunker Hill with seven to play. The 75ers also know they are in and have a Magic # of 2 to clinch the Institute League. The wildcards are all still up for grabs. Starlight and The Slog played to a 2-2 series, so finishing with a tied record would mean either the CBO goes to other tiebreakers or decides to play a tiebreaker game. Easy Town, Salem, and Nahant are all still alive but would need to get hot coupled with a team or two above them collapsing. |
So Jamaica Plain did end up missing out. Had a nice run of qualifying. Nice to see though Ayag Mour helped Roxbury return to the postseason. Him and Mattingly are going to be a tough duo to keep off base

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 29 August 2310 CBO Analysis The 2310 expansion season has come to an end of its 130-game schedule, and we are looking to a thrilling playoff lineup with the expanded playoffs to six teams. Before we look at the teams, let's take a look at the records that fell in 2310. Individuals: New Record / Previous Record Games played: 130 - 10 players / 121 At-bats: Jake Doucette, Jamaica Plain - 537 / Aesed Hayjen - 534 - 2305 Runs: Barker Cocoa, University Point - 150 / Barker Cocoa - 148 - 2309 Singles: Atai Molec, Bunker Hill - 144 / Jake Doucette - 139 - 2309 Walks: Barker Cocoa, University Point - 162 / Barker Cocoa - 144 - 2303 Losses: Danny Machart, Cambridge - 24 / David Coocoo - 23 - 2304 Starts: Isaiah Swindler, The Slog - 35 / Cleveland Heep - 33 - 2309 Complete Games: Paul Stains, Diamond City - 14 / 4 players - 11 - Last in 2309 Innings: Paul Stains, Diamond City - 270.0 / Beachboy Nut - 244.0 - 2308 Hits Allowed: Matt Bowman, Nahant and Zaire Inquisitor, Oberland - 250 / Sheng Kawolski - 246 - 2307 Pitching WAR: Paul Stains, Diamond City - 8.93 / Beachboy Nut - 8.57 - 2305 Now let's look at the final standings and break down the outlooks for each team. NCA 1. Nordhagen Beach 2. Bunker Hill 3. Sunshine Tidings 4. The Slog (wins the season series over County Crossing 6-4) 5. County Crossing 6. Starlight We thought there might be drama, but the 3-6 seeds suddenly distanced themselves enough from Salem and Easy Town to ensure that the top six seeds stayed mostly the same. We see the two league winners, Nordhagen Beach and Bunker Hill, as teams we have a hard time seeing any other team besting them. The Party Boys and 75ers represented the NCA in the past three Sole Survivor Series, and they met in the NCA Championship Series last year. For the wildcard teams, they seem to be about where they should be based on how they looked all season. With that said, we think the Killers have just as good a chance as any wildcard to make it to the Sole Survivor Series. Realistically, though, we think Sunshine Tidings and County Crossing will be in the NCA Semifinals. SCA 1. Roxbury 2. Quincy 3. Vault 81 4. Oberland 5. University Point 6. Egret The Rad Sox seemed like the best team for a good part of the season, faded away later, and then surged at the end to surpass Vault 81. he Dwellers have to enter the playoffs disappointed thinking they would have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Quincy held on to best University Point by one game. That gives the Gunners a chance to rest and prepare for the next round, while the Deathclaws will have a tough battle with Oberland. We like every team in the playoffs with some definitive strengths and limited weaknesses. The Sox seem to be the most complete team, but any of the six teams have a chance to go all the way. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719453056 CBO Standings https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719453056 CBO Draft Preview OSA scouts love to view the amateurs and try to predict what teams may do in the early parts of the draft. Scouts predict that the Top 10 picks will all be position players, so let's take this time to list the Top 10 and then look at OSA's top three players per position. Top 10 based on expected draft order - * indicates college player: 1. LF Alchemist Hall, New Bedford - Scouts see his potential to be a .350 hitter each season, an annual batting champion contender. 2. C Red Jay Jones, Beantown - Expected to be a rare cleanup catcher, able to hit for average and power and likely to be intentionally walked at a high clip. 3. 1B Tony Quarterly*, Winthrop College - Power hitter who will punish fastballs over the plate. Will strikeout often against off-speed pitches. 4. CF Natick Inhousing, Lexington - Great ability to get the bat on the ball in all situations. Has power but may not need it to be successful. 5. RF Naga Arakaki, Concord - Power. Pure power. Hit 20+ home runs all four seasons with the Iceboys. 6. 2B Trog Alderod, Seekonk - Power-hitting second baseman, something rare in the CBO. Needs to improve his bat overall. 7. SS Gav Indigree, Plymouth - A potential gem. Can play anywhere on the field well, which means he should probably be a SS. Could be an elite hitter in time, but for now will get hits galore at whatever level he plays. 8. CF Jay Gabby, Wellfleet - Jumped in talent for his junior year and maintained that high level of production. Good combination of hitting for average and power with enough speed to scare teams on the base paths, too. 9. CF Keepuh Knockin, Andrew Station - One of the first potential over production ranks. Has great speed but gets poor jumps on steal attempts. Can hit well but his best asset is to wait for his pitch and rarely swinging at bad pitches, which should help his OBP. 10. 2B Glove Payton, Harwich - Very patient hitter who can knock balls where fielders are not. Projects to be a key piece to a team. Top 3 per projected position: SP: 21 - Chase Seashores, 27 - Tarzan Rogers, 29 - Scooter Yaghmour C: 2 - Red Jay Jones, 45 - Sparky Henderson, 46 - Wahoo Crawford 1B: 3 - Tony Quarterly, 11 - McMack Bingham, 18 - Nikolay Hansen 2B: 6 - Trog Alderod, 10 - Glove Payton, 14 - Nippy Ben Nippolt 3B: 17 - Johntel Lechea, 22 - Roo Kid Cunningham, 28 - Huck McFarland SS: 7 - Gav Indigree, 19 - G.B. Means, 36 - Cyclone Bentancourt LF: 1 - Alchemist Hall, 12 - Javen the Raven Coleman, 38 - Shad the Lad Lambisky CF: 4 - Natick Inhousing, 8 - Jay Gabby, 9 - Keepuh Knockin RF: 26 - Pie Trainer, 34 - True Tee Warrior, 38 - Thatch Heard CBO Transactions Monday, August 29th , 2310 Southie Brews: Activated LF Was Renti from the injured list. Expansion teams really struggled. Cambridge even lost 100. At least the Radscorpions didn't lose that many. I hope they get some good roles coming their way! |
I'm gonna once again pull for Qunicy, just because I think they deserve a turn.
|
It appears hats are in the ring!
The best team in the regular season is only 14 games up on the worst teams for playoff teams. Every team has a chance, and that is no lie! I just pulled up from a long day in commuting to and from airports, as well as the flight itself, so I have not had a chance to begin the playoff previews. That is one of the goals for tomorrow. At the same time, I am trying to work out a couple of other big changes. I spent part of the flight making schedules by hand that I may consider making and posting on the Mods/Schedules part of the forum. |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 30 August 2310 NCA Wildcard Round #6 Starlight Killers (74-56) vs #3 Sunshine Tidings Chemists (76-54) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719586180 Season Series Sunshine Tidings 6, Starlight 4 April 12-14 @ST: ST 10-4, Star 4-2, ST 8-2 May 21-22 @Star: ST 7-5, Star 5-2 June 18-20 @Star: Star 6-5, ST 10-6, ST 6-2 August 1-2 @ST: Star 8-7, ST 4-2 Analysis Both Sunshine Tidings and Starlight have gotten used to making the playoffs but never playing in the big series. For the Chemists, they are making their eighth-straight playoff appearance and eighth overall. The Killers are making their fifth-straight trip to the playoffs and eighth overall in the full CBO. Sunshine Tidings have been able to get to the playoffs, but they are 1-7 in their series. The lone series victory came in 2306 when as the #2 seed the Chemists swept #3 Easy Town. Sunshine Tidings then was swept in the NCA Championship Series by #1 County Crossing. Starlight did not find its first success in the playoffs until 2308 when they advanced past their first series for the first time. In that season, the Killers as the #5 seed beat #4 Nordhagen Beach and then #1 Salem before falling to #3 Bunker Hill in the NCA Championship Series. Last season, Starlight was the #1 overall seed, but they fell to the #4 75ers in the Semifinals Round. In the regular season, both teams played tight games in their 10-game series. Only two games had more than a four-run difference, and all four of Starlight's victories were by four runs or less with two one-run victories spread in. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719586180 Sunshine Tidings was a bit better in pitching than they were in offense. The offense finished 7th in the NCA in runs scored (671) but 1st in home runs (224). Part of that success was having four players hit 24 or more home runs with 3B Ross Merchantman (.321/49/126) leading the NCA in homers and RBI. The three other big contributors were 1B Dusty Brownell (.292/34/72), SS Lernz Tentsleep (.267/30/74), and CF Ricky Ticky Laughy (.271/24/59). Pitching was pretty good overall for the Chemists with the 4th best runs allowed (554), 3rd Starters ERA (3.91), and 9th Bullpen ERA (4.76). The three playoff starters--Sheng Kawolski (8-8, 3.10), Eugene Gym (15-10, 3.93), and Mike Rubric (21-9, 3.41)--all have ERAs below 4.00. Kawolski was attained in a July trade with Diamond City, while Rubric tied the NCA record for wins. The bullpen could be better. CL Cush Baker (31 SV, 3.80) was the best performer. He should get more help from SP Brian Bridges (10-9, 4.00), who moves to the bullpen for the playoffs. Starlight looks similar to the Chemists in its statistical makeup, finishing 8th in runs scored (625). Only two players hit more than 20 home runs: 1B Oren Gep (.274/44/118) and LF Glenn Higinbotham (.291/24/71). Higinbotham also led the CBO with 30 steals, part of the CBO-leading 79 stolen bases for the Killers. CF Willy Mazehaze and 2B Looter Knol added 14 and 13 stolen bases, respectively. The Starlight pitching was 2nd in runs allowed (526), 2nd in Starters ERA (3.69), and 8th in Bullpen ERA (4.69). The three starting pitchers for the playoffs are Digger Vadim (11-11, 3.62), Whokill Poole (14-7, 4.10), and Shaak Ti (15-8, 3.60). SP Bill Sarnacki (12-17, 3.76) moves to the bullpen to join RP Ryan Mills (11-2, 3.92) and CL Sam Molina (28 SV, 4.35). Prediction This appears to be a good matchup but it is only a three-game series. Sunshine Tidings seems to be just a tad better that Starlight, so we are taking them to win it. Chemists 2, Killers 1 #5 County Crossing Bloodbugs (75-55) vs #4 The Slog Ghouls (75-55) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719586180 Season Series The Slog 6, County Crossing 4 April 25-27 @CC: CC 6-5 (10), Slog 9-2, CC 6-5 May 23-24 @Slog: Slog 7-5, Slog 5-4 (13) June 22-24 @Slog: CC 2-1, Slog 5-3, Slog 8-6 August 4-5 @CC: Slog 18-7, CC 3-2 Analysis County Crossing has become veterans of the playoffs, while The Slog is making its return. This season marks only the third time the Ghouls have made the playoffs with their first two trips coming in 2299 and 2300. They also made it both years of the Brotherhood League as an independent league and even won the Sole Survivor Series in 2296 over Finch Farm (now Nahant). The Bloodbugs are making their 9th playoff appearance and second-straight after missing the playoffs in 2308. The Bugs won the Sole Survivor Series in 2306 as the #1 seed in the NCA. In the regular season, the Ghouls won the series 6-4. In all four of County Crossing's victories, they won by only one run. Most of The Slog's wins were by one or two runs, but they did have a seven-run and 11-run advantage in two of the games. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719586184 The Slog comes into the playoffs as a balanced team, pretty much good everywhere but great nowhere. On offense, the Ghouls finished 5th in runs scored (700) and sported the 2nd-best stolen base numbers (52). Three players were outstanding with the bats: SS Gavin Deux-Gas (.338/35/85), 1B Kilometers Davis (.318/30/99), and 3B Plain Morris (.311/39/105). CF Bill Lazarus led the team with 24 stolen bases, and Deux-Gas added 11. On the mound, the Ghouls were 5th in runs allowed (572), 5th in Starters ERA (4.05), and 7th in Bullpen ERA (4.66). Ace Tiger Fanne (11-7, 2.91) was great when he had run support. The other two playoff starters are Flirt Perez (16-8, 4.05) and Isaiah Swindler (12-10, 4.23). RP Denaria Kee (6-6, 2.47) had the most success from the bullpen. He's joined by SP/RP Austen Austin (12-8, 4.68) and CL Crisco Caristo (26 SV, 6.13). County Crossing went bombs away in the 2310 season, relying on their offense to help them win games. The Bugs were 3rd in runs scored (712), including 4th in home runs (195). The first four in the lineup are deadly: SS Cy Thompson (.264/33/78), CF Any Why (.304/22/71), RF Babs Rooth (.342/31/87), and 1B Zeldolph Violet (.278/41/110). The Bloodbugs were not as good on the mound, finishing 8th in runs allowed (620), 7th in Starters ERA (4.45), and 11th in Bullpen ERA (5.06). The Bugs' ace, Gavin Eviritts (20-7, 3.32), is in serious consideration for the Vim! Pitcher of the Year Award. The other two starters are College Luckyman (10-12, 5.02) and Whip Lashley (16-3, 4.55). In the bullpen, only CL Wick Prater (38 SV, 2.58) is worth mentioning. The rest of the bullpen was bad. Prediction County Crossing has the playoff experience that The Slog does not. While we think the Ghouls are the slightly better team, we just do not see them ready for the pressure of primetime just yet. Bloodbugs 2, Ghouls 0 |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 31 August 2310 SCA Wildcard Round #6 Egret Ninjas (74-56) vs #3 Vault 81 Dwellers (83-47) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719591262 Season Series Vault 81 5, Egret 5 April 4-5 @Egr: V81 3-2 (11), V81 10-4 June 1-3 @V81: V81 15-1, Egr 8-6, Egr 2-1 (10) July 21-22 @V81: V81 3-0, Egr 5-2 August 22-24 @Egr: Egr 6-2, V81 11-2, Egr 6-3 Analysis Neither Egret nor Vault 81 has ever reached the Sole Survivor Series. For the Ninjas, this is their third-straight playoff appearance and fourth overall in the full CBO. In their first playoff appearance, Egret surprised their way into the SCA Championship Series by upsetting #1 Roxbury as the #4 seed. Last season, the Ninjas again reached the SCACS. In both cases, they succumbed to University Point in the SCACS. For the Dwellers, this is their sixth appearance with the last coming in 2308. In 2300, Vault 81 was the #1 seed but lost to #3 Diamond City in the SCACS. In 2306, the Dwellers were again the #1 seed but again fell to the #3, Roxbury, in the SCACS. In 2308, they reached their third SCACS as the #3 seed this time, but they again fell short, losing to #1 Oberland. In the regular season, both teams ended up winning five games versus each other. The interesting part is each team won three of those five at the other team's stadium, making that something to consider in our prediction. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719591262 Egret was much better in pitching than hitting in 2310. The offense finished 7th in the SCA in runs scored (642) and 11th in home runs (116). They were tops in stolen bases (89), including good swipes numbers by Justin Tootles (27), Ajani Peacock (18), and Pockets Aintfull (17). 3B Peacock (.285/21/90) was the best overall hitter, winning the team Triple Crown. Most of the lineup, however, did not strike fear in opposing pitchers. RF/SP Admiral Kelm (.317/9/30) hit well enough to finish second in batting average. On the mound, the Ninjas were 3rd in runs allowed (538), 5th in Starters ERA (4.02), and 4th in Bullpen ERA (4.19), While not dominant numbers, they were efficient. The playoff starters are Tup Mallory (14-13, 4.39), Kelm (18-9, 3.41), and Max Grove (14-11, 4.22). SP Hrye Caje (15-12, 4.06) moves to the bullpen to join CL Mike Pond (35 SV, 3.00) and RP Clueless Gunsmith (5-3, 2.61). Vault 81 was the opposite of the Ninjas, using their bats to win games. The Dwellers were 2nd in runs scored (774), including 1st in home runs (219). Seven(!) players hit 20 or more home runs, led by rookie 1B Hax Kim (.270/37/106), RF Joe Rathman (.294/30/80), CF Stu Gains (.278/30/98), and 3B Knud Bather (.251/30/76) each with 30+ homers. Bather also led the team with 19 steals. On the mound, the Dwellers were just OK. They finished 6th in runs allowed (572), 6th in Starters ERA (4.11), and 7th in Bullpen ERA (4.62). The starters are Scruffy Taguchi (14-8, 3.69), Exxie Summerset (20-8, 4.11), and Closecall Jones (12-8, 4.27), The bullpen is led by CL Ryan Goodpryce (27 SV, 3.92) with help from SP Ryan Downing (17-7, 4.31) and RP Josh O'Farrell (4-2, 3.68). Prediction While both teams are good, we believe the bats of the Dwellers will overwhelm the Egret pitching while holding the Ninjas' lineup in check. We see this one being a blowout. Dwellers 2, Ninjas 0 #5 University Point Deathclaws (76-54) vs #4 Oberland T-51s (78-52) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719591262 Season Series University Point 3, Oberland 1 June 14-15 @ Obe: UP 6-2, Obe 7-2 August 10-11 @UP: UP 4-1, UP 4-1 Analysis These two teams have recently been powerhouses in the SCA, accounting for the last two representatives from their association in the Sole Survivor Series (both losses). The Deathclaws were the last SCA team to win the Sole Survivor Series, taking it over Nordhagen Beach in 2305. Overall, the Claws are 2-1 in the Sole Survivor Series with their other championship coming in 2302. The T-51s have never won the championship in the full CBO, but they won the Sole Survivor Series in 2297. Each teams' championships ended with wins over the Party Boys, who have been to the Sole Survivor Series six times, twice as many as any other team. In the regular season, the teams played only four games against each other, with the Deathclaws winning 3 of 4. Surprisingly, every victory in the series could be accounted for pitching, with the losing team scoring 2, 2, 1, and 1 runs. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719591266 University Point never got its offense going like it did in past seasons despite finishing 1st in runs scored (789). There were lots of injuries, but only SS Austin Engill is out for the playoffs. Of course, when speaking of the Deathclaws' offense, everything turns to 1B Barker Cocoa (.365/56/139) who is sure to win his 7th Nuka Hitter Award. LF Chris Hirshfield (.271/32/83) and CF Aesed Hayjen (.333/23/74) also contributed to driving in lots of runs. RF Tomas Jones (.406/16/51) did not play enough games to earn the batting title, but he was on fire when he did play in 2310. On the mound, the Claws' starting pitching is bad compared to their playoff peers. University Point finished 9th in runs allowed (614), 10th in Starters ERA (4.58), and 3rd in Bullpen ERA (4.10). The starters for the playoffs are Joey Dimes (12-10, 4.53), Tony Bertha (14-8, 3.71), and Alex Alexson (14-8, 3.86). Players who spent time as starters included the acquired Peak Sizeman (9-16, 5.66), Lawdog Whipple (7-8, 5.84), and Cobra Cobratea (11-7, 4.76). Closer Chase Southie (28 SV, 5.13) was not efficient in his role. The defending SCA champions, Oberland used pitching as its means to stay competitive though the offense was not bad. The T-51s finished 5th in runs scored (667) although they were 2nd in average (.284). RF Orcin Cardinal (.335/39/106) was the unquestioned leader, winning the team Triple Crown. Other key contributors include C Racky Westheim (.333/13/61), LF/SP Zaire Inquisitor (.316/16/48), and SS Stormin Normin MacDonald (.281/21/61). The pitching was really good with a team ERA under 4.00. The T-51s finished 1st in runs allowed (532), 4th in Starters ERA (3.97), and 1st in Bullpen ERA (3.51). The starters for the playoffs are Emperry Alizm (14-10, 3.72), Mesquite WIlliams (10-13, 3.62), and Inquisitor (18-8, 4.06) with Trolley Dodge (18-8, 4.55) moving to the bullpen. CL William Butcherman (27 SV, 5.36) was the worst of the pitching staff but there is a lot of help with RP Aaron Geneva (2-1, 2.02), RP Ronnie Messenger (4-2, 3.15), and RP Dave Pain (4-3, 2.79) holding down the middle innings. Prediction While University Point won the season series, we think the Oberland bats will be hotter at this time. The T-51s are a championship-quality team, while the Deathclaws have been a bit inconsistent at times. We like Oberland to edge out the Claws in a low-scoring series. T-51s 2, Deathclaws 1 |

National Park Takes Season Pass Association Crown It was a storybook year for the National Park Gulpers as they closed out a 4-0 series win over the Victory Cave Crickets to claim the Season Pass Association Championship. They wrapped it up with a 16-5 victory to cap an incredible season after they brought home their 1st league championship earlier in the year. The Gulpers manager offered his view of the series. "We had a lot of things going for us," he said, "offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes to win it all." The Cave Crickets manager commented: "We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year. They played better baseball than us and they beat us." During the Vim! Victory left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Cave Crickets celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game. "Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Victory manager Mauricio Luna. "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void." A jovial mood filled the air as Victory celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works. "We're going to celebrate our team, our championship Victory Cave Crickets," the mayor said. So I feel this is relevent since we recently, in the past 2ish weeks discussed the DH in terms of your dynasty, or rather lack there of. I started a playthrough of Fallout 3 about an hour ago, and of course had to take the GOAT. I'm sure you remember the question about what baseball position you want.... DH is one of the options.... forgot about that... interesting implications. Just kind of an "oh yeah" moment lore wise, not saying it's actually definitive or anything, could be a vault-only rule even. Just was like 'wow, topical'.

On a related note, I went ahead and made my one purchase for 2024 by buying OOTP 25. I loaded a save of another league I have and looked through. They were not lying about the big changes to how players are evaluated! Now I have to wrap my head around the idea of how to manage the positive and negative stats ratings with the scale changing to 1-550. |

Oberland third baseman Joe Malone went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3, to lead the charge. The T-51s now lead the series 1-0. Had Da Game not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Game hit a grand slam home run. BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 3 September 2310 NCA Semifinal Round #5 County Crossing Bloodbugs (75-55) vs #1 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (88-42) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719754804 Season Series Nordhagen Beach 6, County Crossing 4 April 12-14 @NB: NB 7-0, CC 5-1, NB 5-0 May 21-22 @CC: NB 5-4, CC 6-2 June 18-20 @CC: NB 2-0, NB 6-4, CC 4-3 August 2-3 @NB: NB 9-7, CC 5-3 Analysis In what has turned into a league playoff with 2nd place The Slog facing 3rd place County Crossing and now the Bloodbugs facing 1st place Nordhagen Beach, we have a great matchup of bitter rivals. During the regular season, the Party Boys won 6 out of 10, going 3-2 at home and on the road. The Boys also shut out the Bugs three times, showing that the pitching staff can consistently handle a dangerous offense. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719754804 For the Party Boys, the defending champions, they are back for another playoff run. They have made the playoffs in all 13 seasons of the full CBO set up, making them the only team with that accomplishment. As three-time champions and six-time Sole Survivor Series participants, the Boys are also tops in those two categories. The only other teams to win two championships are Diamond City, Roxbury, and University Point. County Crossing is one of the three teams to win one in the full CBO setup. Nordhagen Beach is a good team all-around, finishing tops in runs scored (755) and runs allowed (499) a difference of nearly two runs per game. The top of the Boys' lineup is deadly: RF Jonathan Angelou (.256/30/70), 1B Mountainside Rockhand (.322/32/92), CF Maxx Murtagh (.328/43/90), and LF Young Goodman (.322/29/91). They also have 12-time All-Star C Biter Trout (.326/5/44) who dealt with injuries during the season but is healthy entering the playoffs. On the mound, the Party Boys were 1st in Starters ERA (3.62) and 2nd in Bullpen ERA (3.85). The playoff starters are Beachboy Nut (15-8, 3.80) who surprisingly had the highest ERA of the four Nordhagen Beach starters, Deedee Martinson (17-7, 3.61) who was the starter in two of the shutouts against the Bugs, and Ugio Church (21-7, 3.41) who tied the NCA record for victories. SP Tommy Beach (20-8, 3.45) will move to the bullpen for the playoffs to join CL David "AntAgonist" Kidd (39 SV, 2.47) who led the CBO in saves and RP Hard John Horvath (1-2, 1.82). Prediction We are having a hard time finding any faults with the Nordhagen Beach team. While the Boys could go cold, we just do not see it happening, and will probably ride the Boys as long as they are alive. County Crossing is a tough team, but the Nordhagen Beach team has had success against them, including the three shutouts that we mentioned. We're taking the Boys. Party Boys 3, Bloodbugs 1 #6 Starlight Killers (74-56) vs #2 Bunker Hill 75ers (85-45) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719754804 Season Series Bunker Hill 5, Starlight 5 April 8-10 @Star: BH 6-2, Star 4-1, Star 2-0 June 4-6 @BH: Star 5-4, Star 5-3, BH 8-0 July 19-20 @Star: Star 3-2 (10), BH 10-5 August 27-28 @BH: BH 9-7, BH 6-5 Analysis Bunker Hill finished the regular season on an eight-game winning streak, including a two-game sweep of Starlight in the last two games of the season. Winners of the Sole Survivor Series just two seasons ago, the 75ers are a formidable opponent. This is the third-straight playoff appearance for Bunker Hill and their fourth overall in the full CBO. The regular season matchups between the 75ers and Killers were even overall with nothing that stood out exclusively. All of Starlight's victories were by three runs or fewer, while the 75ers had three victories of at least four runs. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719754808 The Bunker Hill offense finished 2nd in the NCA in runs scored (718) to go along with the top team batting average (.294). Four players finished with a batting average above .300: LF Jig McGhee (.354/18/83), SS Aaron Squire (.338/33/89), rookie 1B Pooja Berrie (.335/12/58), and CF Atai Molec (.323/7/54). The 75ers were 3rd in runs allowed (536) to go along with finishing 4th in Starters ERA (3.98) and 1st in Bullpen ERA (3.75). The playoff starters are Jason Tonelli (15-11, 3.26), Max Thunderdome (16-10, 4.35), and Tony "Vampire" Frazier (11-6, 3.90). SP Corey Ware (14-3, 3.95) moves to the bullpen to join CL Jim Livermore (30 SV, 3.81) and SP/RP Mike Cartrette (8-1, 4 SV, 2.83). Prediction Just like the the other series, we have a hard time finding fault in the higher seed here. Bunker Hill may have been a lower seed a season ago, but they were still able to handle the Killers as the #1 NCA seed. This season, the 75ers are a better team and looked hot entering the playoffs. We'll take Bunker Hill to match their 2309 success against Starlight. 75ers 3, Killers 1 |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 4 September 2310 SCA Semifinal Round #4 Oberland T-51s (78-52) vs #1 Roxbury Rad Sox (84-46) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719762246 Season Series Oberland 6, Roxbury 4 April 6-7 @Obe: Obe 2-0, Rox 6-0 April 29-May 1 @Rox: Rox 9-6, Obe 5-2, Rox 3-1 July 11-13 @Obe: Obe 9-1, Obe 7-4, Rox 13-4 July 30-31 @Rox: Obe 4-2, Obe 5-3 (10) Analysis The regular season series favored Oberland, winning 6 of the 10 matchups, including 4 of the last 5 games. The T-51s were the only SCA team that Roxbury had a losing record against in what turned out to be a very good Railroad League. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719762246 The Rad Sox had two surprise seasons of missing the playoffs in 2308 and 2309 after making the playoffs six-straight seasons, including winning it all in 2303 and 2304. Now, the Sox are back as a considerable favorite to make their 5th Sole Survivor Series. The Sox finished 3rd in runs scored (770) in the NCA despite being 1st in several offensive categories, including batting average (.296). Five of the eight starters finished with a .300 or higher average: 3B Donn Mattingley (.373/34/91), C Ayag Mour (.342/17/86), SS Purple Gupta (.339/17/74), CF Ben Pawlak (.3330/31/86), and RF Brightsun Ramos (.305/15/68). 1B Sum Downie (.298/41/101) led the team in homers and RBI. On the mound, Roxbury was 2nd in runs allowed (536) with the 3rd-best Starters ERA (3.92) and 5th-best Bullpen ERA (4.36). The playoff starters are Nuke Laloosh (17-5, 3.50), Urm Rehfeldt (17-8, 3.47), and Dobbie Radoncis (11-8, 4.49). Aaron Demps (10-7, 9 SV, 3.77) and Charred Lee Widemore (8-7, 8 SV, 4.80) are in the bullpen for the playoffs with each spending some time in the regular season as the closer. RP Jack Arasmith (2-0, 2.50) was the best pitcher in the bullpen. Prediction Roxbury has returned with a vengeance. Oberland is a good team that was in the Sole Survivor Series just one year ago and won the season series. We feel as though the T-51s are the one team that could shut down the Sox, and that is what we will predict in a close series. T-51s 3, Rad Sox 2 #3 Vault 81 Dwellers (83-47) vs #2 Quincy Gunners (77-53) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719762246 Season Series Quincy 3, Vault 81 1 May 16-17 @Qui: Qui 14-2, Qui 7-2 July 28-29 @Obe: V81 7-2, Qui 9-3 Analysis The regular season matchup was in Quincy's favor, winning 3 of 4 where all games were blowouts. The Gunners never were a dominant team throughout the season, but they were able to figure out a good team in the Dwellers. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1719762250 This season marks Quincy's second-straight playoff appearance and third overall. Last season, the Gunners were the third-seed, but were swept by University Point. In the full CBO, Quincy is 0-2 in their series, but did win a series in the playoffs out of the Minutemen League in 2297. This season marks the Gunners' first Minutemen League titie. The Gunners finished 4th in runs scored (686). Their standout players were rookie 1B Gladder Questseeker (.378/22/71), long-time veteran 3B Ben Pettinato (.304/24/94), 2B Shirt Fowler (.318/16/49), and RF Baywatch Fischler (.293/14/52). On the mound, Quincy finished 7th in runs allowed (592), with the 8th-best Starters ERA (4.50) and the 2nd-best Bullpen ERA (4.08). The playoff starters are Lyle Pine (16-7, 3.98), Village Idiot Recker (12-9, 4.59), and Fosdyke Rochambeau (14-9, 3.81). CL Matt Hoernig (29 SV, 3.20) leads the bullpen with help from RPs Ghost Kyudalson (7-4, 3.35), Adam Bias (5-1, 2.30), and Mark Stuhlsatz (2-3, 3.30). Prediction While the Gunners have home-field advantage in this series, we think that Vault 81 is a far better team. We do not think Quincy will be swept at home, but we do not see them winning more than one game. Dwellers 3, Gunners 1 |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, BCAC, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 9 September 2310 Harvard Repeats as Champions, Bests MBU 6-5 Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better. It was the latter case in 2310, as the Harvard Crimson topped the Mass Bay University Beacons 6-5 tonight at O'Donnell Field to win the College Series. It was the 2nd title in franchise history. "When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said Harvard third baseman Sepol Lopez, who was named series MVP. The Crimson took the series 4-3. The repeat titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the BCAC North Division and a 52-28 record. Harvard manager Ruben Sanchez grinned and nodded when asked to comment on Lopez's words. "Sepol said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said. Hometown officials announced they were already planning a "grand celebration" for the winners in the days to come. |
