BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 11 September 2311 CBO Wildcard Round Results NCA #6 Sunshine Tidings vs #3 Nordhagen Beach Game 1: Nordhagen Beach 4, Sunshine Tidings 3, 10 inn. Nordhagen Beach Takes 1-0 Series Lead Behind 4 RBIs from LF Goodman Nordhagen Beach got all of their offense from left fielder Young Goodman. Thankfully for the Party Boys, he had plenty to give. Behind a strong game from Goodman, Nordhagen Beach took the 4-3 victory over the Sunshine Tidings Chemists in Game 1 of the Wildcard Round. Goodman was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, while Nordhagen Beach took a 1-0 lead over the Chemists in the best-of-3 series. The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Goodman hit a fastball from Tiger Fanne for a run-scoring double. The Party Boys, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win. "It's hard to overstate how much this mattered to us, especially in a short series," Nordhagen Beach manager Zach Toth said. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop. Game 2: Sunshine Tidings 6, Nordhagen Beach 5, 12 inn. Merchantman Blasts Party Boys, Chemists Take Game 2, 6-5 The Sunshine Tidings Chemists and the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys will take the Wildcard Round to a decisive final game. Facing a must-win situation at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium, the Chemists went into extra innings to beat the hometown Party Boys, 6-5, and knot the series at 1-1. Sunshine Tidings third baseman Ross Merchantman was 3 for 6 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Biff Baldwin came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Nordhagen Beach pitcher Bill Early, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Sunshine Tidings on top, 6-5. "There's no quit in this team," said Chemists manager Art Clarke. Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at ArcJet Systems Stadium in Sunshine Tidings. Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 3, Sunshine Tidings 1 Party Boys Win Wildcard Round In an exciting Wildcard Round that had its fair share of drama and intrigue, perhaps it is Commonwealth Baseball Organization fans who have come out the winner. But on the field, the winners were the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, who edged the Sunshine Tidings Chemists 2-1 to advance to the Association Semifinal Round. Nordhagen Beach won the final game by a 3-1 count to wrap up the series. Young Goodman earned series MVP honors, by hitting .429 with a .467 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys will play against the Nahant Celtics in the next round. Nahant had a bye in the Wildcard Round. The Association Semifinal Round schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Round finishes. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723397834 NCA #5 Salem vs #4 Fort Hagen Game 1: Fort Hagen 10, Salem 9 Mallee, Fort Hagen Open WCR Strong with 10-9 Win The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud got past the Salem Witch Hats by the score of 10-9 in the crucial first game of the Wildcard Round at Hubris Comics Park. Fort Hagen left fielder KiJana Mallee went 1 for 3 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2, to lead the charge. With a 1-0 lead, the Silver Shroud will have two chances to close out the Witch Hats. Had Sauce Almeida not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Almeida hit a 2-run triple. That made the score 10-8, in favor of the Silver Shroud. "We took advantage of our opportunities," Almeida told the Fort Hagen Daily. "It's as simple as that." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hubris Comics Park in Fort Hagen. Game 2: Fort Hagen 6, Salem 3 Silver Shroud Dominate, Sweep Wildcard Round The Salem Witch Hats were simply overmatched by the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud in the Wildcard Round. The end result was a sweep, as Fort Hagen has cruised to the Association Semifinal Round, with the final win coming at Hubris Comics Park by a score of 6-3. "We're clicking and running on all cylinders at the moment," said Brennan Colt-45, who was named MVP of the Wildcard Round. "We're a dangerous team when we play like this." For the series, Colt-45 hit .571 with a .667 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud will play against the Starlight Killers in the next round. Starlight had a bye in the Wildcard Round. The Association Semifinal Round schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Round finishes. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723397834 SCA #6 Oberland vs #3 Roxbury Game 1: Oberland 6, Roxbury 2 Road Win Lifts Oberland to 1-0 Lead in WCR The Oberland T-51s powered past the hometown Roxbury Rad Sox, 6-2, in the opener of the Wildcard Round at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury. Oberland starting pitcher Emperry Alizm threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball, to lead the charge. The T-51s now lead the series 1-0. Oberland used a timely hit from Good Don Duck to get the win. The right fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the T-51s ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact. Oberland manager Proper Lighthouse praised his team's "businesslike approach." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury. Game 2: Roxbury 6, Oberland 4 T-51s Hammered by Pawlak, Drop Game 2 to Rad Sox With center fielder Ben Pawlak leading the charge, the Roxbury Rad Sox defeated the visiting Oberland T-51s, 6-4, in Game 2 of the Wildcard Round. Pawlak went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury to help Roxbury force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-3 series. In the bottom of the fourth, Roxbury second baseman Emerald Sapphire had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Sapphire stroked a 2-run double to right. It made the score 3-1, Roxbury. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. "It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Roxbury manager Bryan Pingree. The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 9th , 2311 at Oberland Stadium in Oberland. Game 3: Roxbury 7, Oberland 5 Rad Sox Prevail, as Wildcard Round Goes to the Wire Commonwealth Baseball Organization pundits who figured the Wildcard Round between the Roxbury Rad Sox and Oberland T-51s would go the distance were right on the mark. The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Roxbury coming out on top thanks to a 7-5 win in the deciding game at Oberland Stadium, to wrap things up 2-1. "You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Rad Sox right fielder Brightsun Ramos, who was named series MVP. For the series, Ramos had 4 hits for a .308 average. He had 1 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Roxbury Rad Sox will play against the Egret Ninjas in the next round. Egret had a bye in the Wildcard Round. The Association Semifinal Round schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Round finishes. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723397834 SCA #5 FHE vs #4 Vault81 Game 1: FHE 10, Vault 81 6 Zabrak Blasts Dwellers, Yao Guai Take Game 1, 10-6 With shortstop Dathomirian Zabrak leading the charge, the FHE Yao Guai got a road win over the Vault 81 Dwellers, 10-6, in Game 1 of the Wildcard Round. Zabrak went 3-6 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 at CURIE Inc. Field to help FHE take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series. Sebastian Lort hit a 2-run double off Scruffy Taguchi in the top of the first, which put the Yao Guai in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Lort had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5. "Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Lort. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston. Game 2: Vault 81 6, FHE 3 Vault 81 Win Evens Series at 1 The Vault 81 Dwellers took down the FHE Yao Guai by the score of 6-3 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Wildcard Round. The largest share of the credit belongs to Vault 81 starter Exxie Summerset, who threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. Summerset, the Vault 81 right-hander, went 7 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits. He collected 6 strikeouts. "We have a lot of confidence in Exxie," said Vault 81 manager Drac Jaskula. Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at BosCom Circle in Fairline Hill Estates. Game 3: FHE 9, Vault 81 7 Yao Guai Heading to Association Semifinal Round It went the distance, but the FHE Yao Guai finally disposed of the Vault 81 Dwellers 9-7 in the series clincher at BosCom Circle. Winning the finale gave the Yao Guai the series, 2-1. They will now advance to the Association Semifinal Round. It is their first playoff series win in franchise history. The Most Valuable Player Award went to FHE right fielder Sebastian Lort. He batted .467 in the series, collecting 2 RBIs and scoring 5 runs. "Sebastian deserves it," said Yao Guai manager Dan Ferreri. "He was the glue that held our club together." The FHE Yao Guai will play against the University Point Deathclaws in the next round. University Point had a bye in the Wildcard Round. The Association Semifinal Round schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Round finishes. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723397842 Playoff Tree https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723397842 |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 12 September 2311 CBO Playoffs - Association Semifinal Round Previews NCA #4 Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (73-57) vs #1 Starlight Killers (80-50) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723509463 Season Series Starlight 6, Fort Hagen 4 May 1-3 @Star: Star 6-4, FtH 10-6, FtH 10-8 May 29-30 @FtH: Star 6-0, Star 9-5 June 28-30 @FtH: Star 5-2, Star 10-6, FtH 8-4 August 10-12 @Star: FtH 7-1, Star 5-4 Analysis As much as both of these teams have been to the playoffs, they have only met twice in the playoffs before, both series victories for Fort Hagen. In 2299, the #2 Silver Shroud defeated the #3 Starlight Lady Killers, 3-2, in the Association Semifinals. The teams met again in 2301 in the Play-in Round. There, the Shroud won the series, 2-1. The Killers are now in their 9th overall playoff appearance and sixth-straight. Starlight has never been to the Sole Survivor Series, but they have advanced to the NCA Championship Series twice: 2308 as the #5 seed before falling to #3 Bunker Hill and 2310 as the #6 seed before falling to #1 Nordhagen Beach. In the regular season, Starlight held a slight edge over the Shroud, 6-4. Both 1B Oren Gep (.316/3/5) and LF Glenn Higinbotham (.220/2/11) were the power leaders for Starlight. However, Fort Hagen's SS Brennan Colt-45 (.436/5/13) was out of this world in the series. Both Killers starters Digger Vadim (2-0, 2.04) and Jerry Weisman (2-0, 3.00) were successful in the series. To earn the #1 seed this season, Starlight found its balance on both offense and defense. On offense, the Killers finished tied for 3rd in runs scored (696) with finishes at the top in OBP (.360), WAR (24.5), and SBs (219). Those 219 stolen bases shattered the NCA record of 128 set by The Slog in 2301 and the CBO record of 168 set by Vault 81, also in 2301. As a note, the 219 stolen bases is now a shared record with Egret, which also had 219 steals this season. Two players had more than 50 steals: 2B Looter Knol (.289/11/61/58 SB) and LF Glenn Higinbotham (.281/25/65/54 SB). C Biter Trout (.336/6/55) led the team in average, and Higinbotham was the homers and RBI leader. On the mound, Starlight was 1st in runs allowed (552) and Starters ERA (3.73) and 5th in Bullpen ERA (4.54). All three playoff starters have an ERA below 4.00: Vadim (14-5, 3.41), Shaak Ti (12-11, 3.68), and Whokill Poole (15-8, 3.87). Weisman (14-8, 3.68) will move to the bullpen for the playoffs. CL Justin Wilkerson (36 SV, 2.92) was serviceable, and he had help from Ryan Mills (2-1, 3.38) and Bill Sarnacki (3-0, 3.47). Prediction Starlight is not in its first bid as the #1 team, but the Killers have looked the part all season. They are a loaded team with pitching that dominated most of the season. Fort Hagen comes in as the preseason favorites, though they showed that some of the CBO newcomers on their team were not as adept at handling the established CBO talent. Still, the Silver Shroud are a tough out. This one seems as though it will be close, and for a five-game series any winning streak can tilt the series. We're going to ride the Killers, though. Starlight 3, Fort Hagen 2 NCA #3 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (76-54) vs #2 Nahant Celtics (77-53) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723509463 Season Series Nordhagen Beach 6, Nahant 4 April 12-13 @Nah: Nah 7-4, NB 5-2 May 5-7 @NB: Nah 11-3, Nah 10-9 (13), NB 5-2 July 17-19 @Nah: NB 9-8, NB 6-5, NB 4-2 August 5-6 @NB: NB 5-4, Nah 6-3 Analysis Nahant may have won the Brotherhood League crown in 2311, but having to start the playoffs against the back-to-back champions does not seem to be a fun affair. Nahant is making just its second playoff appearance in the full CBO with the last and only appearance coming in 2302 as Finch Farm. In that season, the Four Leafs, as they were known then, got bounced as the #5 seed in the Association Semifinals by #1 Nordhagen Beach. In the regular season, Nordhagen Beach edged the Celtics, 6-4. 3B Jacob Tarberry (.429/5/11) tortured the Nahant pitching. LF Grandson Quarles of the Celts went .429/2/6, having the best overall offensive performance for his team in the season series. One the mound, no one player dominated, though Nahant's SP Zack Million (0-1, 2.16) seemed to have been robbed in his two starts with how well he pitched. We mentioned how Starlight earned their way to the top due to having the best statistical output in the NCA. Well, the Celtics had the 2nd-best statistical output, thus the #2 seed. On offense, the Celts were tied for 3rd in runs scored (696). 3B Diamond Ball (.356/36/102) was the offensive leader, with Quarles (.313/18/63), 1B Bulleye Shooterson (.326/27/81), and RF Gene Leftswipe (.283/21/64/58 SB) being the main contributors. Nahant was 2nd in runs allowed (573), Starters ERA (3.96), and Bullpen ERA (4.41). Much of the Starters ERA was due to the top two starters: Million (13-8, 2.84) and Cohort Williams (20-8, 3.43). SP Lonely Gale (5-2, 2.08) was having a great season before a serious hamstring injury. He is expected back should the Celtics advance to the NCACS. In the bullpen, CL Rob Hoode (41 SV, 3.41) was not outstanding but did tie the CBO saves record. RP Mr X Lopez (1-1, 1.59) was dominant in his appearances. Prediction Why kid ourselves? Nahant has most of the statistical advantage except for the biggest one: playoff success. We really believe that Nordhagen Beach is the only team that can beat Nordhagen Beach. That does not mean the Celtics cannot surprise, but the Party Boys are going to be the favorites in this one, even as the #3 seed. We'll take them. Nordhagen Beach 3, Nahant 1 SCA #5 FHE Yao Guai (73-57) vs #1 University Point Deathclaws (81-49) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723509463 Season Series University Point 2, FHE 2 June 22-23 @FHE: FHE 7-0, FHE 9-5 August 14-15 @UP: UP 8-2, UP 16-7 Analysis These two teams cannot be more different in their franchise histories at this point in CBO history. We already previewed that FHE is making just its second playoff appearance, earning its first series victory with a Wildcard Round upset of Vault 81. University Point, on the other hand, is making its 11th appearance in the past 12 years. This will mark the first meeting between the Yao Guai and Deathclaws in the playoffs. The Yao Guai have already advanced as far as they ever have in the playoffs. The Claws have two Sole Survivor Series championships (2302, 2305) and three appearances overall (2309). In the regular season, the teams tied at 2-2 with each team going 2-0 at home. Each game was a blowout with the closest match being FHE's June 23, 9-5, victory. There were no players that stood out especially in the season series, but there was one interesting statistic. University Point's rookie backup 2B Mav Coreburst batted nine times, getting five hits and driving in seven. He finished the season .255/2/22 in 145 at-bats. Most pitchers were lit up in the series, but SP Agnet Skinner (1-0, 0.00) pitched 7.2 innings of shutout ball in the Yao Guai's 7-0 victory on June 22. For the Claws, they were not setting offensive records this season, but they still finished 2nd in runs scored (764) and were at least 3rd in almost every category but stolen bases where they finished tied for 11th (79). Four players had the greatest impact on the power numbers: LF Chris Hirshfield (.289/32/108), 1B Barker Cocoa (.369/30/101), CF Sack King (.239/25/70), and RF Tomas Jones (.322/22/101). 2B Chris Recore (.296/11/43/35 SB) was the lone major stealer on the team. On the mound, University Point was 2nd in runs allowed (559) with the 3rd-best Starters ERA (4.03) and best Bullpen ERA (4.19). The top two pitchers are Tony Bertha (12-7, 3.50) and Joey Dimes (13-7, 3.86) with contributions from SP Alex Alexson (12-7, 4.54), SP Lawdog Whipple (11-6, 4.13), and RP Marc Pondsip (10-4, 2.22). Willie Lule (35 SV, 3.40) and Matt Hoernig (14 SV, 2.00) man the end-of-game scenarios. Prediction University Point seems to have all the advantages, and they have been one of the most consistently good teams all season. We think that FHE has proven it can be an up-and-coming team, starting out the season as a surprise force and hanging on enough to stay in the playoffs. However, we just do not see the Yao Guai putting up much of a fight here. University Point 3, FHE 0 SCA #3 Roxbury Rad Sox (78-52) vs #2 Egret Ninjas (79-51) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723509468 Season Series Roxbury 6, Egret 4 April 17-19 @Egr: Rox 3-2, Rox 10-6, Egr 8-3 May 27-28 @Rox: Egr 6-1, Rox 7-6 (10) June 24-26 @Rox: Rox 8-5, Egr 7-3, Rox 15-3 August 7-8 @Egr: Rox 7-4, Egr 5-4 Analysis The way Egret played late in the season, it looked as though they were ready to step up to take over the CBO. That momentum is most certainly not complete, but we are not so sure they are ready yet to take the next step. What the Ninjas have accomplished is to make it to their fourth-straight playoff appearance and fifth overall. In their first playoff appearance in 2305, Egret upset two teams, including the #1 Roxbury team on their way to an SCACS appearance before falling to #2 University Point. They returned to the SCACS in 2309 as the #4 seed before again falling to University Point. The 2305 matchup is the only time the Ninjas and Rad Sox have met in the playoffs. In the regular season, Roxbury owned a 6-4 advantage, going 3-2 both at home and on the road. The Rad Sox also had the most lopsided victory in the season series, a 15-3 win on June 26. Three players with at least 20 at-bats had a .400 or better average for the Sox in the season series: 3B Donn Mattingley (.439/1/9), C Ayag Mour (.433/1/5), and RF Cubby France (.409/2/6). Egret's 3B Notorious Fugate (.320/2/7) was the best overall hitter for the Ninjas. SP Urm Rehfeldt (3-0, 6.06) had great run support in his starts against the Ninjas. Egret's most accomplished pitcher was Hry Caje (2-0, 3.77). The Ninjas were definitely more of a force pitching than hitting. They finished 7th in runs scored (672) with the best statistic being their 219 stolen bases, tying Starlight this season as the two best stolen bases marks in CBO history. Three players had 40+ steals to go with their other impressive offensive statistics: 2B Justin Tootles (.277/6/44/49), 1B Ajani Peacock (.288/15/72/43), and CF Pockets Aintfull (.280/0/43/40). SS Austin Engill (.241/29/83) was the homers and RBI leader, while LF Jesus Church (.300/8/55) led the team in average for qualified players. On the mound, Egret was really good, especially at starter. Egret was the best in runs allowed (552) and Starters ERA (3.59) and 6th in Bullpen ERA (4.77). The top two starters were tough to beat: Max Grove (12-5, 2.98) and Caje (19-5, 2.45). The third starter will be Admiral Kelm (11-11, 4.55), who struggled a bit after back-to-back 18-win seasons. There were no outstanding players in the bullpen, but the Ninjas now have two closers in Tup Mallory (18 SV, 3.91) and Midnight Flowers (19 SV, 4.91). Mallory started in his first 18 appearances before moving to the bullpen for 45 total appearances. He also went 8-7 on the season. Prediction Egret looks to be a good team, especially if its pitching can outshine Roxbury's. We still feel as though we are waiting for the Sox's implosion. After their return to the playoffs as the #1 seed last season and an early exit, we thought they may do the same this season. Instead, the Rad Sox moved on with their win over Oberland. We are not sure which team really has an advantage, so we will go with how the regular season went. Roxbury was better by a game in both five-game sets in the regular season. They will do the same here. Roxbury 3, Egret 2 |

by Evan Guy 14 September 2301 Wild KO's Echo Lake in SPAS The Season Pass Association championship series is now history with the trophy going to the Wild Gatorclaws. The new champions knocked off the Echo Lake Harbormen 7-3 to cop the crown 4-2. The victorious skipper was just happy to be a part of it. "I would've bought a ticket to watch this series." During the North Bradberton Division regular season, the Gatorclaws posted a record of 58-32, good enough for first place in the standings. Talking to reporters after the game, the Wild manager recapped the experience. "The run we've been on has been remarkable," he said, "so for it to end this way is fitting. Our conversation before the playoffs was to just keep on playing and keep on plugging. This is the playoffs and it's not over 'til the last pitch of the last game. Anything can happen and it can change fast." https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723510350 Game 1: Echo Lake 7, Wild 2 Dominoes, Harbormen Wallop Gatorclaws in Game 1 of SPS The Echo Lake Harbormen started the Season Pass Series in style, winning on the road against the Wild Gatorclaws at Angry Anaconda Field at Safari Adventure by a score of 7-2 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Harbormen first baseman Chris Dominoes excelled. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Dominoes had an important at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the top of the seventh, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Harbormen went on to win. "I'm really happy I delivered," said Dominoes. "The pressure is so high up there, it's indescribable. This is the Vim! Series." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Angry Anaconda Field at Safari Adventure in Bradberton. Game 2: Wild 4, Echo Lake 0 Raucous Angry Anaconda Field at Safari Adventure Crowd Propels Gatorclaws to 4-0 Victory; Series Tied at 1 Behind a bravura effort from starter Justin Quast, the Wild Gatorclaws topped the Echo Lake Harbormen by the score of 4-0 and got their first win in the 2311 Season Pass Series. Quast threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball for the Gatorclaws. The win moves Wild into a 1-1 tie with Echo Lake. Quast allowed no runs on 6 hits over 9 innings for the Gatorclaws. He walked 1 and struck out 2. "That's what we get paid to do, is put up zeroes," said Quast after the game. Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at The Lumber Yard in Tremont. Game 3: Wild 16, Echo Lake 1 Road Win Lifts Wild to 2-1 Lead in SPS Riding the 4-hit performance of right fielder Hicky Loftin, the Wild Gatorclaws got a road win against the Echo Lake Harbormen, 16-1, in Game 3 of the Season Pass Series. Loftin was 4 for 6 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Gatorclaws, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1. Wild relied on the hitting of Bubba Shrimp to pick up the win. The shortstop ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the third inning to put the Gatorclaws on top, 3-0. For the game, Shrimp had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats. Said losing manager Good Night Cunningham: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Lumber Yard in Tremont. Game 4: Wild 9, Echo Lake 7 Almost There: Wild On Cusp of Season Pass Series Triumph After 9-7 Win Riding the 3-hit performance of shortstop Bubba Shrimp, the Wild Gatorclaws got a road win against the Echo Lake Harbormen, 9-7, in Game 4 of the Season Pass Series. With the game tied, 0-0, in the top of the sixth, Shrimp had a key at-bat for Wild. With a runner on 1st, Shrimp hit a 2-run home run off Jason Woods, making the score 2-0, Gatorclaws. "We haven't stopped playing," Echo Lake manager Good Night Cunningham said. "We didn't get this far to give up." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Lumber Yard in Tremont. Game 5: Echo Lake 22, Wild 4 Echo Lake Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2 The Echo Lake Harbormen have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Wild Gatorclaws, winning, 22-4, at The Lumber Yard. Harbormen left fielder Witcher Craft went 4-5 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 times and drove in 3. The win cuts the deficit facing the Harbormen to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Season Pass Series. Cory Slone helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 5-0, Harbormen. "We maximized our offense today," said Echo Lake skipper Good Night Cunningham. "That makes everyone's life easier." BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 19 September 2311 CBO Association Semifinals Round NCA #4 Fort Hagen Silver Shroud vs #1 Starlight Killers Game 1: Fort Hagen 17, Starlight 7 Fieterz Blasts Killers, Silver Shroud Take Game 1, 17-7 The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud started the Association Semifinal Round in style, winning on the road against the Starlight Killers at Valentine Detective Agency Field by a score of 17-7 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Silver Shroud right fielder Foo Fieterz excelled. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 4 times and drove in 3. Fort Hagen used a clutch at-bat from KiJana Mallee to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Silver Shroud ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger. "I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Fieterz. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Valentine Detective Agency Field in Lexington. Game 2: Starlight 6, Fort Hagen 5 Silver Shroud Hammered by Cloyse, Drop Game 2 to Killers With first baseman Goody Cloyse leading the charge, the Starlight Killers defeated the visiting Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, 6-5, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round. Cloyse went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 at Valentine Detective Agency Field to help Starlight force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series. Hurr Lee Reyes drove in one run against the Silver Shroud. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Starlight in front, 6-5. "Every team in baseball loses," Silver Shroud manager Matt Ballhawk Getman said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back." Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at Hubris Comics Park in Fort Hagen. Game 3: Starlight 6, Fort Hagen 2 Road Win Lifts Starlight to 2-1 Lead in ASF The Starlight Killers moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series, downing the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud on the road at Hubris Comics Park by a score of 6-2. Killers third baseman Nick Maris went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Killers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round. The game was on the line with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning, but Jerry Weisman didn't flinch. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Fort Hagen trailing 4-2, Weisman retired Brennan Colt-45 to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Weisman, with a wink. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hubris Comics Park in Fort Hagen. Game 4: Starlight 7, Fort Hagen 0 Killers Win Association Semifinal Round The Starlight Killers clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud room was filled with despair and sadness after the Association Semifinal Round concluded. "Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Biter Trout, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance. Starlight won the final game by a 7-0 count at Hubris Comics Park and the series 3-1. Fort Hagen manager Matt Ballhawk Getman was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series. "They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said. For the series, Trout hit .438 with a .474 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Starlight Killers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys - Nahant Celtics series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723819505 NCA #3 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys vs #2 Nahant Celtics Game 1: Nahant 3, Nordhagen Beach 1 Association Semifinal Round Game 1 Goes to Nahant, Thanks to Million The Nahant Celtics powered past the visiting Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, 3-1, in the opener of the Association Semifinal Round at Finch Family Park. Nahant starting pitcher Zack Million threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Celtics now lead the series 1-0. Had Duncan MacCready not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, MacCready hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Celtics. "It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said MacCready. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Finch Family Park in Nahant. Game 2: Nahant 5, Nordhagen Beach 3 Costantino, Celtics Sink Party Boys Again in Game 2 The Nahant Celtics moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series, downing the visiting Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Finch Family Park by a score of 5-3. The win gives the Celtics a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round. With the game tied, 3-3, in the bottom of the sixth, Costantino had a key at-bat for Nahant. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Costantino hit a run-scoring single off Hard John Horvath, making the score 4-3, Celtics. "You need to show up when your number's called," said Costantino. Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 9, Nahant 2 Goodman, Party Boys Wallop Celtics in Game 3 of ASF The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Nahant Celtics, winning, 9-2, at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium. Party Boys left fielder Young Goodman was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Party Boys to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round. Nahant had a runner on 2nd in the top of the eighth. With one out, Diamond Ball stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he grounded out. The score remained 4-2, Nordhagen Beach. The Celtics never could mount a comeback. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop. Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 4, Nahant 3, 13 inn. Party Boys Clip Celtics, 4-3, in ASF Contest Zack Million pitched effectively, but the Nahant Celtics still lost, 4-3, in extra innings to the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium. With the win, Nordhagen Beach took a 2-2 lead in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round. Million pitched well, allowing 1 run over 6 innings. The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Nordhagen Beach second baseman Jumper Hayes, facing Glenn Patnode, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Party Boys the 4-3 win. "The effort we put into this one paid off," Hayes said. The next game is set to be played for Monday, September 18th , 2311 at Finch Family Park in Nahant. Game 5: Nordhagen Beach 5, Nahant 1 Party Boys Win Association Semifinal Round The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys are heading to the Association Championship Series, having narrowly defeated the Nahant Celtics. Nordhagen Beach edged Nahant in the series 3-2, with a win at Finch Family Park in the clinching game by a 5-1 margin. Jacob Tarberry turned in a strong offensive performance for the Party Boys and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a Sole Survivor Series win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Tarberry continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .364 with a .417 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys will play against the Starlight Killers in the next round. Starlight won their series against the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud 3 games to 1. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723819505 SCA #5 FHE Yao Guai vs #1 University Point Deathclaws Game 1: University Point 7, FHE 6 University Point Takes 1-0 Series Lead with Walk-off Win A clutch 9th inning gave the University Point Deathclaws a 7-6 walk-off win over the FHE Yao Guai and a 1-0 lead in the Association Semifinal Round at Gwinnett Brewery Park. Young center fielder Sack King, 20, earned kudos after he was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, King hit a fastball from Sluggo Pyne for a solo home run. The Deathclaws, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win. "Nothing is scripted in this game," said King. FHE had tied the game in the top of the 9th by scoring three runs. With Willie Lule on the mound for the claws, Makin Jobear led off with a single and advanced to second when Rocket Arm Espinosa was hit by a pitch. With one out Innis Sark hit into an RBI fielder's choice to score Jobear. Punt Dollop then followed with a two-run home run. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston. Game 2: University Point 7, FHE 3 University Point Pins 7-3 Loss on FHE A strong performance from pitcher Agnet Skinner was not enough for the FHE Yao Guai, who were stopped by the visiting University Point Deathclaws, 7-3, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round. The Deathclaws never truly figured out the left-handed Skinner, who threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Still, the Deathclaws now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-5 series. The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Nate Tivity came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing FHE pitcher Sluggo Pyne, he hit a 0-2 changeup for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting University Point on top, 4-3. Tivity called the win "a team effort." The next game is set to be played for Thursday, September 14th , 2311 at BosCom Circle in Fairline Hill Estates. Game 3: FHE 9, University Point 7 Thriftstore Blasts Deathclaws, Yao Guai Take Game 3, 9-7 The FHE Yao Guai have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading University Point Deathclaws, winning, 9-7, at BosCom Circle. Yao Guai first baseman Syd Thriftstore went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The win cuts the deficit facing the Yao Guai to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round. Makin Jobear, who won the Red Rocket Rookie Award in 2310, chipped in a 2-run home run for FHE in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI. "It was a nice win for our side today," said Yao Guai manager Dan Ferreri. "Not perfect, but we'll take it." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at BosCom Circle in Fairline Hill Estates. Game 4: FHE 3, University Point 0 Raucous BosCom Circle Crowd Propels Yao Guai to 3-0 Victory; Series Tied at 2 The FHE Yao Guai and the University Point Deathclaws will take the Association Semifinal Round to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation, the Yao Guai shut out the Deathclaws, 3-0, at BosCom Circle to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. FHE right-hander Munyeb Funyun did his part. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Sluggo Pyne didn't flinch. With a runner on 1st and University Point trailing 1-0, Pyne retired Tomas Jones to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Pyne, with a wink. Game 5 is scheduled for Sunday at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston. Game 5: University Point 16, FHE 4 Deathclaws Move on to Association Championship Series When the entire season comes down to one game, Sack King said you find out what a team is really about. As it turns out, the University Point Deathclaws are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the FHE Yao Guai 16-4 tonight at Gwinnett Brewery Park in order to win the Association Semifinal Round and book a place in the next round. "It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said King, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about." King hit .429 with a .455 on-base percentage. He had 5 home runs, drove in 14 RBI and scored 6 runs. The University Point Deathclaws will play against the Roxbury Rad Sox or Egret Ninjas in the next round. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723819513 SCA #3 Roxbury Rad Sox vs #2 Egret Ninjas Game 1: Egret 6,Roxbury 4 Church, Egret Open ASF Strong with 6-4 Win The Egret Ninjas started the Association Semifinal Round in style, downing the visiting Roxbury Rad Sox at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina by a score of 6-4 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Ninjas left fielder Jesus Church was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Church had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the fifth for the Ninjas. Coming up with the bases loaded and Egret trailing 2-1, he hit a bases-clearing double. "I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Church. "And not try to do too much." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina in Egret Tours Marina. Game 2: Egret 8, Roxbury 7 Blitzed by Fugate, Ninjas, Rad Sox Sink Further in ASF When the games really matter, the Egret Ninjas put on their best show, beating the Roxbury Rad Sox by a final score of 8-7. Notorious Fugate was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Egret now leads Roxbury 2-0 in the best-of-5 affair. Egret got a knockout punch from Austin Engill. The shortstop hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome. "I like our moxie," said Ninjas manager Cozy Burmaster. The next game is set to be played for Thursday, September 14th , 2311 at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury. Game 3: Roxbury 3, Egret 1 Roxbury Breaks Through for First Win in Association Semifinal Round; Now Trails 2-1 The Roxbury Rad Sox have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Egret Ninjas, winning, 5-1, at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury. Rad Sox right-hander Urm Rehfeldt threw 7.2 innings allowing 1 run. The win cuts the deficit facing the Rad Sox to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round. With two out in the bottom of the sixth, Purple Gupta barreled up a fastball from Midnight Flowers. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Rad Sox in front, 4-0. "Our guys are never satisfied," said Roxbury manager Bryan Pingree. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury. Game 4: Roxbury 4, Egret 3 Rad Sox Clip Ninjas, 4-3, in ASF Contest In a crucial game, the Roxbury Rad Sox put on their best show, beating the Egret Ninjas by a final score of 4-3. Max Grove threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Roxbury and Egret are now tied at 2 wins apiece in the best-of-5 affair. The Rad Sox were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 33-year old right fielder Bat Savelli landed a big blow. He turned a 1-2 fastball from Tup Mallory into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury denizens into a frenzy and sent the Rad Sox home with a thrilling 4-3 win. "This place was jumping at the end," Savelli said. Game 5 is scheduled for Sunday at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina in Egret Tours Marina. Game 5: Roxbury 5, Egret 2, 12 inn. Association Semifinal Round Goes the Distance, Roxbury Prevails The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina as the Association Semifinal Round stretched to the final game. It was the Roxbury Rad Sox feeling the thrill of victory, with a 5-2 win in 12 innings over the Egret Ninjas, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Association Championship Series. "There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Egret manager Cozy Burmaster. "Congratulations to Roxbury, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight." Instrumental in the 3-2 series win was shortstop Purple Gupta, who was named MVP. He hit .300 with a .364 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs. "We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said. The Roxbury Rad Sox don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the University Point Deathclaws - FHE Yao Guai series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723819513 CBO Playoff Tree https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723819505 |
Some teams just have that X factor when it comes to playoffs, it seems. I mean I'm not saying that in regards to the specific odds right now, but more of a revelation I've just had. We've not had trouble getting new teams into the playoffs, but boy do the Boys steamroll through, etc. There's a big difference between upper playoff teams and lower playoff teams.

Needless to say, I am hoping Starlight crashes the party. I would bet no caps on that happening, though. |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 20 September 2311 CBO Association Championship Series NCA #3 Nordhagen Beach Party Boys vs #1 Starlight Killers https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723906277 Season Series Starlight 3, Nordhagen Beach 1 May 24-25 @NB: Star 8-1, Star 11-3 July 29-30 @Star: Star 4-2, NB 3-1 Analysis Fourteen years of the CBO, and 14 playoff appearances for Nordhagen Beach. We are almost surprised if they are NOT in the NCA Championship Series. In fact, in those 14 appearances, including this season, this marks the 10th trip to the NCACS. In the first nine appearances, the Party Boys won the NCACS six times, including the past two seasons. the Boys are also the kings of championships, having won four. No team is as accomplished, so obviously Starlight is not in that number. Still, compared to other NCA teams not counting the Boys, the Killers stack up well. This is their 9th playoff appearance, including their sixth-straight. However, in those previous eight years, the Killers have never won the NCA, thus no Sole Survivor Series appearances. They have appeared in two NCACS before, including this rematch from a season ago. They also appeared in 2308 against Bunker Hill. This matchup represents just the third time Nordhagen Beach and Starlight will meet in the playoffs. They first met in 2308 as the #4 and #5 teams, respectively. In the Play-in Round Series, the Killers came out on top, 2-0, on their way to their first NCACS appearance. In 2310, these teams met as the #1 and #6 teams respectively, with the Boys coming out on top in the NCACS, 4-2. In the regular season, this matchup was all Starlight. In the four-game series, the Killers held the Party Boys to just nine total runs, winning the scoring battle, 24-9. Each team's ace won their one game started (not directly matched up). SP Beachboy Nut (1-0, 1.23) allowed just one earned run in 7.1 innings pitched. SP Digger Vadim (1-0, 1.23) did exactly the same. On offense, neither team showed much power with nine players each hitting a home run apiece. C Biter Trout of the Killers hit .33 with a home run and four RBI against his former team. LF Young Goodman of the Boys led his team in hits with five, batting .500, but he had no homers nor RBI. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723906277 Looking at the matchups by position, we can see some advantages. Starlight and Nordhagen Beach each tied for 3rd in the NCA in runs scored (696). However, the Killers had a 552 (1st) to 628 (7th) advantage in runs allowed. Here are side-by-side comparisons based on OSA ratings with Nordhagen Beach players listed first and Starlight players listed second: SP1 - Beachboy Nut > Digger Vadim SP2 - Deedee Martinson > Shaak Ti SP3 - Ugio Church > Whokill Poole RP1 - David "AntAgonist" Kidd > Closecall Zamora CL - Ted Iam < Justin Wilkerson C - Clownie Blamms < Biter Trout 1B - Jacob Tarberry > Goody Cloyse 2B - Jumper Hayes < Looter Knol 3B - Justin Hazard < Nick Maris SS - Pipe Wallcrawler > Wolf McQuaid LF - Young Goodman < Glenn Higinbotham CF - Maxx Murtagh > Willy Mazehaze RF - Jonathan Angelou < Hurr Lee Reyes Prediction Based on everything seeming to come together for Starlight, there is no doubt that they have been one of, if not, the best teams in the CBO. While the talent seems to be lagging behind in pitching for the Killers, they were absolutely better than the Party Boys in 2311. Of course, the Nut factor is an almost-guaranteed win in those games, but the other games are wide open with Starlight also seeming to have more talent across the board on offense and Nordhagen Beach's aging players. Looking at this series from a historical perspective, though, there is no doubt that the Party Boys are THE team when it comes to the playoffs. As defending back-to-back champions, all roads pass through the settlements of Winthrop and its stadium on the beach. Starlight may be an up-and-coming franchise ready to take control. Until they do, though, it is impossible to pick against the champions. Nordhagen Beach 4, Starlight 2 SCA #3 Roxbury Rad Sox vs #1 University Point Deathclaws https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723906277 Season Series University Point 3, Roxbury 1 April 10-11 @Rox: UP 9-7, Rox 6-5 July 27-28 @UP: UP 7-6 (11), UP 4-2 Analysis This is Roxbury's 8th trip to the playoffs and second-straight after a two-year absence. For University Point, it is making its 11th playoff appearance, and third-straight. Interestingly enough, despite these two teams being the SCA's most successful, at least in the last decade, they have only met ONCE prior to this season. In 2303, the #1 Rad Sox defeated the #2 Deathclaws, 4 games to 1, in the SCA Championship Series. The Sox then went on to defeat Fort Hagen in the Sole Survivor Series for their first of two-straight championships. In the regular season, the Claws held the advantage, 3-1, with all four games being settled by two runs or fewer. Both LF Chris Hirshfield (.333/3/9) and 1B Barker Cocoa (.353/2/5) did their thing for University Point on offense. Three players for Roxbury had two home runs each in the season series: CF Ben Pawlak (.278/2/4), RF Cubby France (.214/2/3), and 1B Sum Downie (.182/2/3). No pitcher particularly stood out in the season series, but the Deathclaws' SP Alex Alexson allowed just one earned run in two starts and 11.1 innings pitched, walking six and striking out 11. He had no decisions in both starts. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723906281 Looking at the matchups, the Claws seem to have all the advantages. University Point was 2nd in the SCA with 764 runs scored and 2nd in runs allowed (559). Meanwhile, the Sox were 5th in runs scored (702) and 9th in runs allowed (647). Despite the Rad Sox's bad statistical output relatively, there is no doubt that they can match the Claws' talent. By a breakdown of positions, here is what we've got with the Roxbury player listed first and University Point player listed second: SP1 - Nuke Laloosh > Tony Bertha SP2 - Oliver Oil > Joey Dimes SP3 - Urm Rehfeldt > Alex Alexson RP1 - Dobbie Radoncis < Matt Hoernig CL - Professor Harriel > Willie Lule C - Ayag Mour > Shawn Cherry 1B - Jeremy Schoolboy < Barker Cocoa 2B - Emerald Sapphire < Chris Recore 3B - Donn Mattingley > Nate Tivity SS - Purple Gupta > Rock Rampage LF - Scott Dourque < Chris Hirshfield CF - Ben Pawlak > Sack King RF - Brightsun Ramos < Tomas Jones Prediction Looking at this series, there are all kinds of directions we can go with our prediction. Historically, the Rad Sox have the advantage, winning the only matchup, appearing in four Sole Survivior Series, and winning two. University Point also has two Sole Survivor Series victories in three appearances, and has had the most recent appearance (2309). From 2302-2309, the Sox and Claws appeared in seven of eight of those series, with Oberland getting in in 2308. This season, the Deathclaws had the advantage, though slight, and they hold home-field advantage. While the Rad Sox pitching has superior talent, the Claws' bats can be impossible to contain. University Point 4, Roxbury 3 |

I'll be pulling for the Rad Sox, especially with their starting catcher, but I'm a little nervous. It could end up being two quick series but I'd love for a pair of game sevens. Sometimes the storylines write themselves! |
I think what gets me personally is that while the Boys were the community pick, I was always Fort Hagan. It seems like early on you can always have teams that party it up win big, but at certain point, it has to come crashing down.
|
The next round is simulated, so I will post results.
I agree with OrangeP47 about teams coming crashing down. It seems as though the good teams that become no longer good teams do not go from good to average but good to among the worst. I wonder if that will happen to NB, UP, and Rox once their aging stars start retiring or seeing significant stat drops. |

BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 26 September 2311 Sole Survivor Series: Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (76-54) vs Roxbury Rad Sox (78-52) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723990362 Season Series Roxbury 3, Nordhagen Beach 0 May 31-June 2 @NB: Rox 6-2, Rox 2-0, Rox 4-2 Analysis The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys and Roxbury Rad Sox are two franchises that have made winning a tradition in the early years of the CBO. Of the now 28 spots in this 14th Sole Survivor Series (official), the Party Boys and Rad Sox have now occupied 12 of those spots. This is the Boys' 7th appearance in a Sole Survivor Series with a lifetime record of 4-2, while the Sox are making their 5th appearance with a lifetime record of 2-2. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723990368 This will also mark the second time that Nordhagen Beach and the Rad Sox meet in the Sole Survivor Series. In 2307, the Party Boys won the series, 4 games to 1, marking the beginning of a dominant effort in the playoffs. The Boys have now won three of the last four Sole Survivor Series, including the past two. In the season series, it was all Roxbury, outscoring the Boys 12-4 in their three-game series. Ben Pawlak (.500/3/4) and Sum Downie (.400/2/3) were the offensive heroes, producing more total home runs than Nordhagen Beach had total runs. SP Nuka Laloosh (1-0, 0.00) pitched 8.0 innings of scoreless ball in his lone start. Boys SP Beachboy Nut (0-0, 0.71) pitched well in his start, a no-decision after 7.1 innings. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723990368 There are a few key matchups and interesting stories to look at. One of the factors of this game is the movement of stars. The biggest of those was the December 17, 2300, trade that sent SP Beachboy Nut to Nordhagen Beach in exchange for 3B Donn Mattingley and SS Purple Gupta. All three players have shaped their new franchises over the years. Another key trade that favored the Boys was executed on June 30, 2308, when the struggling Rad Sox (that season) sent LF Young Goodman to the Boys for three prospects: SP Saint O'Fender, RP Astro Nomey, and RP Waxem Topsaw. O'Fender (1-0, 4.85 as a RP) is the only player to play for the Sox. Nomey (3-2, 3.63) is with FHE in a 2309 trade that landed Roxbury SP Aaron Demps (9-7, 5.29). In a side-by-side analysis of team statistics, the Party Boys seem to have most of the advantages. Nordhagen Beach finished tied for 8th in the CBO in runs scored (696), while the Sox finished 5th (702), just a six-run difference on the season. For runs allowed, the Boys were tied for 14th overall (628), while Roxbury was 16th (647), a 19-run difference. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723990362 Looking at a side-by-side comparison of OSA-rated talent, SP1 - Beachboy Nut (15-5, 2.76) > Nuke Laloosh (15-9, 3.33) SP2 - Deedee Martinson (10-10, 4.72) > Oliver Oil (8-12, 3.41) SP3 - Ugio Church (12-10, 4.76) = Urm Rehfeldt (15-9, 4.51) RP1 - David "AntAgonist" Kidd (6-6, 5.32) < Dobbie Radoncis (10-7, 4.25 as a SP) CL - Ted Iam (28 SV, 3.59) < Professor Harriel (41 SV, 1.72) C - Clownie Blammo (.297/17/70) < Ayag Mour (.343/17/73) 1B - Jacob Tarberry (.340/35/105) > Sum Downie (.246/25/76) 2B - Jumper Hayes (.314/7/36) < Emerald Sapphire (.312/18/74) 3B - Dirty Dog Sapienza (.268/6/26) < Donn Mattingley (.356/19/83) SS - Pipe Wallcrawler (.333/19/64) < Purple Gupta (.298/11/60) LF - Young Goodman (.297/16/69) > Scott Dourque (.288/5/45) CF - Maxx Murtagh (.279/27/55) < Ben Pawlak (.282/22/74) RF - Jonathan Angelou (.237/25/86) < Brightsun Ramos (.269/10/44) https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1723990362 Key Injuries Nordhagen Beach RF Gorgeous DiGiacomo (.333 in two games) 1B Mountainside Rockhand (.336/20/88) Roxbury None Nordhagen Beach was already without its starting RF for the season, DiGiacomo, after he ruptured his Achilles in just the second game of the season. DiGiacomo was set to become the regular starter in RF after batting ,331/8/38 in just 82 games with 35 starts in 2310. The Party Boys lost Rockhand for the playoffs in the Wildcard Round when he strained his hamstring. That forced Tarberry to take his spot at 1B and then split Sapienza and called-up Justin Hazard at 3B. Hazard spent the entire regular season with the Braintree Robobrains of the MML before being called up for the Association Semifinals Round. Prediction We are hoping for a fight to the 7th game because we love baseball and want more. This season, the Rad Sox seemed to own the Party Boys, at least in that one series they played. Both teams are currently operating at all cylinders, accomplishing the feat of defeating their associations' #2 and #1 teams in order. Historically, Nordhagen Beach has the advantage, both in previous matchups and current history of winning championships. We have stated it before, and we will state it again. We will pick against the Boys again after they have bowed out. Until then, they are the pick. Nordhagen Beach 4, Roxbury 2 |
Lol well I was worried it would be two quick series. Go Rad Sox!

Outing after outing, he held teams in check and usually got a win. He excelled with a 11-5 mark and 3.00 ERA in 22 starts, tossed 144 innings, fanned 84 and held opposing teams to a .262 average. For his superb season Hunt was today named the NWL Nuka Cannon Award winner. He ended up tied with Tumble Viera with 44 total votes and 44 first place votes. Today, flanked by team officials, Arnett accepted the Nuka World League Manager of the Year Award, noting the level of passion for the Wild Gatorclaws. "The biggest challenge was the fans. I don't know how many times I was asked, if I thought the club was good enough. It was as if they expected failure. It was much easier to win over the ballplayers. Slowly but surely the fans began to believe in us." Arnett led Wild to a first place finish in the North Bradberton Division. The Gatorclaws ended up with a 58-32 record. Arnett is looking forward to the offseason. "We're reviewing our options. You never stand still in baseball. You either get better or worse, 'cause everyone else is out to get your free agents or deal for your prospects. It's going to be a challenge." But the skipper has more than proven he is equal to the task. Rookie - Fried Tatos Smith, left fielder for the Wild Gatorclaws, has been honored with the Nuka Baby Bottle Award in the Nuka World League. BNN Report News from the CBO, Minors, CCBL, and CYL by Nat Wright-Kawolski 29 September 2311 Sole Survivor Series: Nordhagen Beach Party Boys vs Roxbury Rad Sox Game 1: Roxbury 8, Nordhagen Beach 4 Mattingley, Roxbury Open SSS Strong with 8-4 Win The Roxbury Rad Sox started the Sole Survivor Series in style, downing the visiting Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury by a score of 8-4 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Rad Sox third baseman Donn Mattingley went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Brightsun Ramos came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Nordhagen Beach pitcher Ted Iam, he hit a full count cutter for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Roxbury on top, 5-4. "The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Bryan Pingree said. The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1724202963 Game 2: Nordhagen Beach 4, Roxbury 3 Party Boys Clip Rad Sox, 4-3, in SSS Contest Behind a bravura effort from starter Deedee Martinson, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys topped the Roxbury Rad Sox by the score of 4-3 and got their first win in the 2311 Sole Survivor Series. Martinson threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the Party Boys. The win moves Nordhagen Beach into a 1-1 tie with Roxbury. Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jumper Hayes? The nine-time Corvega Top Defender Award winner Hayes stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Nordhagen Beach up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single. Rad Sox manager Bryan Pingree did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Sole Survivor Series." Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1724202963 |
