I'll try the workaround, but I'm also going to try to make sure that the affiliated minor-league seasons all begin at a later date than the Major League season. I'll let you know how that goes.

After trying this last night, adjusting the schedule dates does not eliminate the problem.

After scanning 3 pages to finally find if this problem thought I'd bring it back to the top for others having the same problem.

I started unemployed and got a manager spot in AA. At the beginning of each season (spring training and after) I had to fight to keep my pitching staff running. I had like 5 pitchers on the DL and the MLB GM wouldn't help me out. Every year I'd be back to normal after the june 1 draft.

Now I'm in the MLB and (3rd year of play) there's some A California league team (Santa Fe I think) that had less than 3 P's on the roster. I tried to fill the league but with no luck. Gonna keep trying but if I can't guess I'll just play around the world (maybe Korea) until the patch comes out. Very demoralizing going through 3 years of play to get bogged down.

According to the guide, minor league equivalencies are already reduced, so my guess is that 50% on the player creation modifiers might result in some really bad minor leaguers.

Sorry for the slow response...this is exactly what I did - AAA players were set at 50%, AA at 40% and so on. Now that I know there's this problem I started a new league without any minors and will probably add them when I start managing in 1988 or so.

Seems like the only thing to do on this point is to put off having minor leagues and expand the 40-man roster. Players still develop the same even if they're not playing (I think I read that it some other thread...) but you won't get the cool bonus of having minor league stats, which is a shame.

I had the same problem and to continue I use the Add Fictional Players feature to each minor league.

That works, but it's kind of beat if you're trying to sim seasons at a time since it stops during spring training of the next year.
