Some confirmation that that the file has been recieved and is being looked at would be nice.

I'm looking at it, if that helps at all.

I usually don't post until I'm ready to give a final verdict. Yes, I downloaded it, and yes, I've been looking at it. Right now I'd have to say it's a broken import, but I'm not ready to give up trying to get to the bottom of it yet.

scprideandms 12-19-2006 01:09 PM

as expected, user error, OOTPBM2006 ROCKS!!!!

<maybe there needs to be a script to auto post these resolutions, would clear up all the open issues>

I'm not surprised it's Stunt Bum's fault. That's usually our default position as well.

My problem with the broken import theory is that

A) The League that is broken was not imported, it was a brand new league for OOTP2006

B) THere were no problems the first 2 seasons, this occured in the 3rd season under OOTP 2006.

I never said it was a user error. If it was a broken import, it would be the fault of the game's import routine.

But thanks for your helpful contribution to the community as a whole, and to the Tech Support forum specifically.

See above. Both paragraphs.

A) is surprising, since it's showing all of the signs of a broken import. That's good to know, though.

B) isn't surprising, since the same thing has been seen before.

OK, I had your file mixed up with someone else's (don't laugh, I have a lot of peoples' league files downloaded right now). His is a broken import. Here's the thing with yours... it works fine.

Game screenshot

I didn't touch any settings. I tried to sim to the start to ST, it stopped me for the draft, I simmed that, then finished ST. No problems. Are you fully patched?

It's the Mexican league that isn't working, ACB works fine. At least I think you had ACB up in your screenshot.

That hadn't been mentioned until now. :p

I'm at a loss for the moment. Happen to have a backup from when the Mexican league is in the offseason? I'd like to take a look at that if you do.

Brian the Stunt Bum 12-20-2006 11:43 AM

I do not unfortunately, no.

Does anyone know of any possibly work around> Is there a way to possibly import the league from this point into a new one again or something? Anything? We're in our 23rd season, it would be devestating for a bug int he game to kill an online league with that much history.

Here's where I offer up a suggestion where I have no credible evidence to think it will help, but offer it nonetheless. In previous leagues I've created and resulted in a similar position to the one you're in, the results were one of three: Markus replied, Fixed! (but that meant whatever caused it was dealt with, not that the league was salvaged), the league was ultimately corrupted and could not be fixed, or -- and this is my hope for you -- an internal block was in place and failing to tell me what it was. In the latter case, I tried various across the board remedies (in that specific league) such as having the AI Manage Entire Organization - or something on that order - occasionally, I repeat occasionally, some literally Minor adjusment such as roster fills or movement solved the problem and the league would be able to move on.

I don't have all those menu options available in front of me right now, but it can't make your existing situation any worse as long as you have the copy you have to try some (especially the one I alluded to): in the league suffering the problem look at any option to have the AI run through and make adjustments on its own, effectively cleaning house the best it can. See what happens. I really hope you can get lucky like I was able to in those rare incidents. Maybe nothing, maybe something, but at least you'll have put it through the motions. Good luck, really.

I've spent about five hours with your file trying to find a workaround. Hopefully endgame's suggestions work for you, because I've come up empty so far.

Sadly, randomly trying different things is what I've been trying to do for about 11 days now, it has produced no results. Is there anyway to export the entire database to CSV files and then reimport it in another league or anything like that?
