OMG .... too funny, if I'm gonna get reported for something that tame ... how do I not get reported everytime I post????? Racist???? Last time I looked in the mirror I am the same color as 90% of the UK fighters ... this is too rich! Was it Gforce who reported it LOL
|
Back on topic ... I have pressed for an amateur setting too which would be vital to the RPG area. But also I want it for my universe. I could run tournies with guys scheduled to come in the next couple of years and it all show as his amateur record. It wouldn't count toward aging or his record once you move him to pro.
I'd also love to see the records broken down by career stage. So we can see a fighter went 40-5 while prime and 2-9 once he went post prime. |
Whoever reported that post is not too bright. Humor must really go over that persons head or is just a homer for Calzaghe and Frank Warren. People need to lighten up and not take things so personally.

another suggestion, please, make this game in spanish!!
i know a lot of people who dont buy the game because they dont know english |
I'd like the option to tie a fighter's career stage to the number of rounds he has fought, not how many fights he's had.

While I realize the potential is there for things to get completely out of hand, I'd like to have the ability to put fighters in more than 2 groups. What I'd really love is sub-groups (i.e. all my East Coast, Midwest, West Coast, South fighters would be part of an umbrella U.S. group).

I agree again .. multiple groups and the ability to mass change any group should be a priority.
|
Either get rid of the graphics of the boxers fighting or have it be accurate. 98% of the time it says the fighter has thrown a left when he has thrown a right and visa versa. The commentary needs to be dramatically improved or just list punces thrown, landed or missed. Have one fighter database that we can use, It is great that the community is as envolved as it is and that they do most of the games work, but maybe we could see updated fighter rtankings maybe 4 times a year from the actual game company. I play both Title Bout and ootp7 title Bout is definatley the ugly stepsister.

Wow very constructive but let's see if I can pick it apart 1) Graphics is on the list of things to do 2) commentary is on the list of things to do 3) fighter database is on the list of things to do 4) updates ... more will be known later on that ... how many rosters does OOTP put out? Zero .... How many times a year does Lahmen update his database? Once .... so asking for 4 updates a year is interesting. I'm pretty sure the entire community would be happy to have them once a year. Meanwhile we get plenty of user updates ... how about OOTP how many user made rosters and player updates are made per year? As far as TBCB being the ugly step sister ... well that was a really ignorant (please look up the definition, it doesn't mean stupid) thing to say. TBCB has just as solid of a game engine. It has a better interface. But let's get real OOTP sells about 100x more than TBCB does so the amount of $$$ put into making the isn't even close. You simply can't compare the two games except in one way. There isn't a better baseball game on the market, nor is there a better boxing game. They are both the Rolls Royce of their respective markets. Constructive advice and suggestions are always welcomed but try to keep the negative comments away. |
So if you have a ugly step sister, would that be considered potentially racist?

How about my suggestion to have a short video clip whenever there's a knockdown? You could have a folder with random clips which the game could choose among. I think that would add some excitement. |

I have no idea what they will be doing as far as commentary and graphics I just know that they are two of the biggest suggestions so I am figuring they will be worked on. |
Groupings
The simplest change that I would like to see is allowing one more space for groupings and to mass change the 2nd and 3rd groups instead of going one by one. I base my 3rd grouping request on the playoff format we use here in California for high school basketball. I am a former high school and college basketball coach and I base my boxing organizations according to how we have our playoffs. I have seen that most of the regulars here on the forum run 3 groupings - local, regional and world. This is possible with the way the game is now. But I use one more group.
For example: in high school, we go league, division, region and then state. So for explanation, lets use an Italian fighter. He would first fight locally in Italy (league). If he shows promise, he would fight around the area in regional countries (division). Showing promise and starting to approach the rankings he would gain sponsorship, a managerial team, a promoter and would be able to travel further for fights. This is where my universe differs. I use a hemisphere title. I divide my world into a western hemisphere and eastern hemisphere. From there, the last grouping is the world organizations. WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, whichever one you decide to use. So, with the groupings the way they are right now, I am only able to use regional, hemisphere, and world. I could manually do local such as commonwealth, canadien, french, italian champions but there is no way to do a ranking system or organizational rankings. Plus, it is just ridiculous to have to manually go and change the 2nd grouping for each fighter. I currently have about 3400 heavyweight fighters thanks to all the creative people here that have shared their work. I only use heavyweights. 4 regions: USBA, consisting of hw fighters from US, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands. CABO, Continental Americas, consisting of hw fighters from all countries in the western hemisphere excluding the USBA fighters. EBU, consisting of hw fighters from Europe. ICBA, Inter-Continental, consisting of hw fighters from Africa, Middle East, Asia, Pacific Rim, Oceania. 2 hemisperes: WHBA and EHBA World title and organizations. Of course, this is where you use the all grouping. I would like to further break it down to local titles. South American, Latin America, Canadien, African, Asian, Oceanic, Commonwealth, Eastern Bloc, etc. I would then be able to use a regional grouping of NABF and have local titles of Canadien and USBA within that grouping. Once again, thanks to all the regulars here for sharing their created files. I enjoy reading all the universes here on the board. I have used a lot of everyone's ideas. |
Yeah more groupings and mass changing of groupings and stages is a must for the open play area.
|
now being a little bit more picky...
i would also like to see a tale of the tape screen in prefight, i think the original title bout had that screen. i would like to see the nicknames of fighters included in the top border with the name of the fighter, his record and birthyear on the fightscreen. more importantly, i would like to see the commentary correlate to the animated boxer. the incredible improved graphics of computer and game module games should be able to transfer to tbcb. although i rather have a better simulated portion, i think that it should be needed to see the graphic boxer throw a right handed punch to the body if that is what the commentary says on the screen. i always see the left arm hit the head when it says "right hand to the body." lastly, there are way too many knockdowns from a body shot to the ribcage.

another thinks, make a sub-title let me explain for example
WBC is a world title NABF is a continental title that depends, or its affiliate with WBC and so on i dont know if i explain my self |

I would love to see the punches reflect different things. Like body shots wear down stamina and defense but they would have to change the entire engine for that I believe. I don't have too much problem with the commentary other than that, but it could definitely be deeper. I think it's a must to put at least the fighters record into the banner on the fight screen, plus the last five fights. I find myself stopping the fight to go look at the records way too often. I'd like to see the commentary mention records also. If a guy is undefeated and down in the 8th round they should mention that his undefeated record is on the line. |
