Are there plans afoot to have the draft combine work for historical saves or is it a hard pass from the devs?

I don't know if it's just a coincidence, but my M4 MacBook Pro is running quite a bit hotter with 26.2.49. I've reboot and closed all other apps and I can feel the heat coming off the keyboard. It doesn't seem to do this if I'm not playing OOTP.

I thought I'd post it here just to see if others are seeing the same thing.

Edit: Added screenshots of the temp difference ~1 minute after closing the game.

I noticed that a lot of staff in the standard MLB game who were former players, are not linked to their former player profile. For example, for some personnel like Craig Counsell, when you go to view their profile, you can click "View former player profile" and it is linked. But for a lot of guys like for example the marlins base coach Blake Lalli and manager Clayton McCullough, and a ton more coaches, the coach profile is not directly linked to the former player. Of course this is no big deal but one concern is if some of the former players automatically start becoming coaches, then that leaves us with lots of duplicate coaches in the game. I never noticed this in previous versions as it seemed they would be properly linked.

I am having the same problem ever since updating to the most recent version.

My MacBook is an M3, but it has 64 GB of memory and has no problems running some pretty serious video editing and animation software in my job. It's very rare for me to hear my fan turn on, but it started almost right away when playing my first game following the update.

Also, the animation becomes very choppy as soon as the ball is hit. It's making the game very difficult to play.

I'm hoping this can be fixed soon. Until then, is there a recommendation for how to go back to the previous version?

@ Matt Arnold Where can I post this where I can get a response ?
I am curious if anything has been done to version 26 that would have fixed the glaring glitch where outfielders run through the wall into the upper deck to try and catch a home run ?

Without knowing the exact play you're talking about it's hard to say, but there are a ton of 3d movement updates and tweaks we make every version, so it's very likely that if this was reported in the thread Lansdowne links or in beta, it was fixed.

Could you (or anyone else seeing this) enable tracing, and send in a trace mode file? (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...03&postcount=9)

The main 3d changes should have made things run a lot better for people, so if things are worse, that might help us track down what might be going on for you.

This has always been the case, it's not a new thing. I think the major difference here is if they played in MLB or not, since the link through the Lahman id we use here only really currently works for ex-MLB players as far as I know. Probably something we can look at changing/updating in the future.

Thanks for your quick response. You're right, i checked OOTP 25 and it's the same. Would this be a possible problem in long-term saves?

Also, regarding the ID only working for MLB players, I noticed a bunch of former MLB players who weren't linked properly. Blake Lalli, Darwin Barney, Mark Kotsay, Robinson Chirinos for example. It seems to be the case for most personnel besides the most well-known/high reputation guys.

I'll see if I can figure out how to do the trace mode file. Will share as soon as I get it.

Trace file from MacBook

Hi Matt,

I attached the trace file below.

I played a game from a season I had already started. The playback problem with choppy video occured every time the ball was hit in play.

After just one inning of play, the fan turned on and the laptop started to heat up.

I tried to run a diagnostic using my Mac's Activity Monitor during the fifth inning, but when I went back to playing the game, the game locked up until I turned off the activity monitor.

As soon as I quit OOTP, the MacBook's fan turned off and the computer started to cool.

Hope this helps.

Dave
