These forums have been the company's primary means of communication with its customers for most of its existence. The customer support function is located here, not on Discord. Discord and Twitter are being used to promote the game, which is great, but important customer support information should be posted here.

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask the Devs to keep this board up to date - but I also think they realize they dropped the ball on this one. That said, however, when your trying to keep up with the problem, communication isn't the first thing on your mind.

Discord isn't a social media marketing thing. It's just a communication tool and is super easy to use. More like Slack than twitter.

Are you saying that customer support information should NOT be shared here? Are you saying that it should only be shared on Discord? If not, then we all agree.

They also have Customer Support staff on Discord. As I type this, there are currently a moderator and 2 OOTP non developer staff people online.

I have no problem with that. You evade the point. Are you saying that the information should ONLY be shared on Discord? Are you saying that the information should NOT be shared here? Sharing the same information on all platforms, including Discord, at relatively the same time is a perfect solution.

I was mainly just addressing where you said "they are promoting the game on Discord". Personally I am not a fan of social media either, so I thought it might be worth mentioning, that's not what Discord is. Anyways. Wasn't expecting such hostility...gonna ignore this thread now. Carry on.

Sorry for misinterpreting then. I was just trying to say there's no reason not to use Discord. It's a good tool, not a marketing platform. I thought maybe that was the reason you didn't want to use it. Guess I was mistaken. Sorry about that.

I've no skin in this game. Seriously, if you have a beef with this, take it up with Markus. My GUESS (note guess means that I have no idea for sure) is that, if anything, they staff Discord rather than the forums is because they feel they can reach a wider audience there at any moment in time.

Important information should be shared in both places. We care about both communities, just takes us all a little bit to adjust to making sure stuff goes out in both places (not to mention facebook, twitter, etc...)

No joke I still cannot log in to my silver team. I can get into my bronze team fine, but it's been 24 hours since I've been able to log into PT for my main team.

CORRECTION: It's down for both my teams again. Tried restarting comp, restarting OOTP, logging in and logging out...

Can't get into either now.

Was having trouble getting into PT, but just got back into S294.

Hmmm... it seems one simulation server had trouble, but that should not cause issues with the login. Is this now working for everybody? Maybe our server provider has a network outage. Things like this sometimes happen and are out of our control unfortunately. Usually this does not last long since they have 24-hour tech guys working, but every once in a while it's something serious and it takes them a while to fix it (like that one instance someone cut a huge fibre cable and the whole area went offline where the server farm is, close to St. Louis).

Dunno when this was resolved overnight, but P411 is working now. Thanks guys

I can log in fine to my Silver league team, but the P.413 perfect league server is constantly returning this error message (same as last night):
