Merry Christmas to Us!

We were able to get both Billy Hamilton and Freddy Galvis to join the Tigers!
Galvis is only on a MiLB deal for now. He will join the team for Spring Training and see how things shake out from there! |
Start of 2020 Spring Training!!!
2 Attachment(s)
Below is a couple pictures showing the current Tigers players!
Couple notable camp battles we will be monitoring: #5 Start Spot - Since rosters have expanded to 26 players, we might be able to run a 6 man rotation. That is not an ideal option obviously. Fulmer/Perez/Turnbull though might have to start in AAA unless someone gets injured. Last bullpen job(s) - I have a good sense of which 8 guys I would like to see in the bullpen, but we will wait and see how the spring goes. There is a couple guys I want to pitch in AAA to start to see how they start their seasons (like a Matt Hall for example). Backup Catcher - Originally I had planned on just giving this job to Jake Rogers. He is elite as a defensive catcher. But I signed Christian Bethancourt to MiLB deal and invited him to camp in case Rogers isn't ready just yet. #4 OF - Honestly I just want to give this job to Braden Bishop and figure out what to do with Goodrum/Reyes after that. But I will wait until after spring to make that decision. SS - I have gone back and forth on this for a little while. Another one to keep an eye on and we can always just send Galvis to AAA for time being since he isn't on MLB contract. Thanks again for clicking on this Dynasty Report and I will post an update prior to Gamr # 1 of 2020!! |
Ouch!

Tigers have lost Jordan Zimmerman for the season with an elbow injury :( Otherwise, almost to the end of spring training. Will post an update once roster decisions are made! |
Interesting Trade Opportunity!
5 Attachment(s)
So... MLB released it's "Top Prospects" list today and I usually go through the Top 10 and see if we have anyone that they would be interested in trading for (usually find nothing).
There was a post on the forum, or on the Discord channel possibly, about doing this and I had never tried it before. The #3 prospect in MLB is a pitcher named "Brigham Hill" and he is in AAA for the Nationals. He was a 5th round pick and both our scout and OSA are very high on him. They are actually interested in trading him to us for the #79 overall prospect named "Franklin Perez". Perez came over to Detroit in the Verlander trade. What does everyone think? Worth the gamble or stay the course? The "star ratings" system can sometimes be misleading and personally I think Perez might be an anchor for our rotation for years to come if we hold on to him. |
Start of 2020!!
2 Attachment(s)
We are ready for opening day!!
I have gone through and made all the final roster decisions for the start of the season. I have decided to let Jake Rogers and Braden Bishop start the season in AAA. They will likely be up before long. I am going to start training Bishop to play RF so he can man all 3 OF positions if need be. We have numerous options for middle relievers, so they might be getting shuttled back and forth this season. |
June 2020 Update!
2 Attachment(s)
Below is an updated look at the pitching / batting at June 1, 2020!!!
Paul DeJong is having a great season, but just went on IL for an oblique strain. He will be back soon. His stats for 2020 so far are: .313/.394/.540/.934 for an OPS+ of 143!!! In 150 AB he has 10 doubles and 8 homers. Usually I try to have elite defenders at SS, but he is just below average (50 on the 20/80 scale) on the season with a -1.5 ZR and a 3.52 RF. I haven't been impressed with Lourdes Gurriel Jr. however. Since he contract will continue to climb, it might be time to move on from him. We could in theory play Cavan Biggio in RF/LF and slide Willi Castro in at 2B. Or move Max Schrock to RF and Willi Castro in LF. Just nice to know we have options. I wonder how Yuli would feel if we trade away his brother ... Also, we lost AAA starter and former 1st rounder Matt Manning for the season. He will be in camp next spring looking to earn a job in the rotation. |
Not time to sell low on Lourdes, yet
4 Attachment(s)
I tried to find a trade partner, but his value isn't what it was. We will have to hold on to him and hope he turns it around.
Might have to move him to the bench for 2 or 3 weeks. I could maybe try him at 2B again and see if that somehow helps his hitting improve. Below are a few images from his player profile. |
End of 2020 Update!
5 Attachment(s)
Very happy to report that the 2020 Detroit Tigers are heading to the playoffs!!!
We finished the season 91-71 and will play the Red Sox in the wildcard game! Below is the AL Central standings and our end of season pitching/batting stats. Two players that were added since the draft are: Ryan McMahon (who we added off waivers) and Will Smith (who we added via a trade). In the Smith trade, we were able to add "Branlyn Jaraba" who are our scout loves (3.5* potential) and OSA hates (1.5* potential). We only had to give our a former 7th rounder who will be 25 in 2021 and has yet to pitch above A ball. |
Turnbull gets the ball
1 Attachment(s)
After a great season, Spencer Turnbull is going to get the ball for the wildcard game.
|
Brigham Hill Follow-Up!
2 Attachment(s)
I wanted to look back at what could have been for the Brigham Hill vs Franklin Perez potential trade before opening day.
It looks like we made the right call to hold on to Perez (based on 2020 AAA results anyways). Also, Perez won the IL Best Pitcher Award for 2020. |
Max Schrock!!!
1 Attachment(s)
What a season for this guy. Led the league (not just AL) in hits (203) and batting average (.328). Finished 31st in OPS (.853) and 24th in WAR (5.3). Played league average LF and had 10 SB with 1 CS.
Still cannot believe he was DFA'd by St. Louis. |
Daniel Norris Update
1 Attachment(s)
He has been hurt since late June with an elbow injury. He made 15 not so good starts prior to being hurt. He is looking like a non-tender candidate since he will probably get between 6 and 7 million this offseason.
|
Off to the ALDS!!!
1 Attachment(s)
The Tigers were able to get to Porcello early, limit the Red Sox offense and win the AL Wildcard Game!!!
It was strange of them to leave Poyner in as long as they did. Plus they pulled him to use Eovaldi for the last out of the 8th. We are going to use Willi Castro in RF over Gurriel Jr. for the rest of the playoffs. |
Defeated by the Mighty Clevelanders!!!
3 Attachment(s)
We managed to work our way to a decisive game 5, but ultimately came up short against a very strong Cleveland team.
They went on to win the World Series!!! Lindor and Bauer had unbelievable seasons respectively. They have a wealth of upcoming pitching talent we will be competing against routinely going forward. |
Goodbye Lourdes
2 Attachment(s)
After looking at the team, prior to free agent filings, it appeared obvious we had no need for Lourdes Gurriel Jr. anymore.
We were playing him in RF and after 1400 MLB plate appearances his OPS was .738. His brother is arb eligible also, but will be non-tendered. So I shopped Lourdes around and the Yankees offered up Albert Abreu. I was going to trade him back to the Jays, but you can never have too much pitching. Both our scout and OSA give Abreu ratings of 70 for 3 pitchers (fastball, curve and change). I am going to give him a shot in the rotation, but worst case scenario he is a late game relief option. He has one option remaining, less than 1 year of service time and just turned 25. Also, we were able to add "Kyle Zurak". He is a (soon to be) 26 year old reliever with 3 star potential and 3 above average pitches. He only has 8 innings in AA so far, I am going to start him in AAA and see how he makes out. |
ROY for Schrock!!!
1 Attachment(s)
Follow up about Max Schrock, he won the AL Rookie of the Year for 2020!!!
|
Another Trade!
3 Attachment(s)
It's the free agent filings day ... and we are making a trade!
Niko Goodrum didn't have a spot on the team and was taking away at bats from others in AAA, so we shopped him. Plus he was making 670k haha. Dodgers were only team interested. Kendall might be an option for 4th OF, or a guy we can callup from AAA if needed. We don't really have a CF at this point, but we are leaning towards using Braden Bishop as the starter. Maybe they can platoon? Marcus Chiu was a total throw in. He will be 24 and hasn't played about high A. We will start him AA and see how he does. I like when a trade comes together and both the opposing GM and our assistant GM are happy. |
Matt Manning
1 Attachment(s)
Must have missed this back in August, but apparently he had a setback in his rehab and will miss all of 2021 now.
|
Start of 2021!!!
2 Attachment(s)
We have made it through the offseason and are ready to start 2021!!!
I tend to avoid free agency and go for a "moneyball" type franchise. Find value that may normally get overlooked. Only roster notes are: waiver claims of Shed Long ("2B") and Eric Hanhold (RP). We also signed Juan Lagares to a minors deal and he will start the season as our 4th OF. I didn't notice until I added him to 40 man that he can refuse a minors assignment. The plan was for him to only hold down a roster spot for April anyways. Matt Boyd is on his last legs with us with pending MLB callups of a few notable pitchers. I shopped him this offseason a little bit, and there was some really interesting offers, but ultimately I decided to hang on to him for the time being. We have Casey Mize and Franklin Perez ready when needed. I am going to give Albert Abreu a look to start the season since his service time clock has already started. Turnbull and Cionel Perez will be arb eligible this upcoming offseason for the first time also. Can never have too much pitching! Both Fulmer and Daniel Norris signed with the White Sox (albeit Norris on minors deal with an opt out). Also, a majority of the players we let walk have yet to sign (Hamilton, Galvis, Gurriel, Zimmerman). Will Smith signed with the Yankees. I will post an update once we get to the 2021 draft!!! |
Juan Lagares
1 Attachment(s)
I thought it was worth sharing, somehow he managed a -1.7 WAR in 2020. Why would Texas give him over 500 plate appearances? Haha
Texas had Mikie Mahtook in AAA almost all season (after claiming him off waivers) and he had an OPS of .810. They also had Scott Heineman in AAA with a .782 OPS. They even had Zack Granite who hit well in AAA without much power for a slashline of .296/.371/.376 for OPS of .747. |
Preseason Predictions!!
1 Attachment(s)
Preseason predictions have us going 73-89. I don't expect to win 90+ games again this season, but somewhere around 80 to 85 wins / potential second wildcard team is what I am hoping for.
And look at how much the predictions favor Cleveland. 5 of top 10 hitters in AL and 2 of top 10 pitchers haha. Plus they lost Bauer to the Dodgers haha. |
3000 Hits for Miggy!!!
1 Attachment(s)
Miguel Cabrera is the newest member of the 3000 hit club!!!
He picked up a single in the 8th off Dallas Keuchel! |
Pre Draft Team Update!
5 Attachment(s)
Below are a few pictures showing stats through the first 55 games. We are currently sitting atop the AL Central at the draft!
I made a few minor roster changes by sending down Albert Abreu and calling up Matt Hall to temporarily fill the #5 spot in the rotation. Also, we sent down Jake Robson and called up Myles Straw for the first time (since we traded for him, he did have cup of coffee with Astros in 2018). Sergio Alcantara hurt his foot yet again (contusion this time), so we wait for him, but Cecchini has been fine as backup IF. Kapler won't use Jace Fry except as a lefty specialist, so I going to shop him around just to dump him and callup another reliever (or potentially try to find one via trade block). |
Jace Fry for Corbin Martin!
1 Attachment(s)
So ... we shopped around Jace Fry and the best offer on paper appears to be Corbin Martin.
He was the 56th overall pick in 2017, but in this save he hurt his elbow in early 2019, missed an entire season and lost all his stamina. Prior to 2019 he was the #98 prospect in MLB. I am going to try to revive his career as a starter since a few our of pitchers have gotten injured. Fingers crossed he can regain some of the stamina he lost. |
Pick #29 - 2021 Draft!
2 Attachment(s)
So... gone through a few options and I think I have settled on Seth Halvorsen. Below are his ratings from our scout and OSA.
Our scout appears to like him a bit more and values him as potential 2 way guy, even though the "potential" from OSA is 3.5*. As a hitter he would probably be more of an infielder than a outfielder which is interesting. He could be a quick riser if he pans out and he has a "durable" injury proneness. |
Andrew Vaughn!!!
1 Attachment(s)
Just noticed he won batter of the month in the AL for May.
He has developed in to a beast with very short stays at all minor league levels!!! |
Got an offer from the Phillies
Phillies wanted to trade us Adam Haseley (former 8th overall in 2017).
https://i.imgur.com/XF91Nkz.jpg So we countered and came up with an agreeable trade. https://i.imgur.com/VXULP3d.jpg Here is a snapshot of Adam Haseley https://i.imgur.com/VHiVmuu.jpg He was added to Phillies 40 man already, so he has two option years left. We are going to try and train him up in RF in AAA for now. James Beard was a decent enough prospect (10th round pick of ours), but we didn't think he was going to hit enough to make it through the MiLB ranks. We claimed Shed Long off waivers after a monster AAA season in 2019, but ultimately those at bats in AAA can go to others as he was not needed on our MLB team. |
Bullpen Additions
Forgot to make a post earlier, but we picked up Sean Doolittle around the start of July.
https://i.imgur.com/AK5Pu3r.jpg https://i.imgur.com/9fratdi.jpg Now we are late July and we pulled off a trade for Tommy Kahnle. https://i.imgur.com/KqCmy2q.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ARvjjak.jpg Both pitchers will have their entire salaries paid by the teams we acquired them from. We were able to dump a few extra relievers on NY that were not long term pieces. The only one I didn't really want to trade was Zimmer, but he is now "fragile". |
DJ Lemahieu!!!
2 Attachment(s)
July 31 and I am looking at the trading block to see if I can find any good players to add to the team.
We don't have a need, but Biggio is having a down year, so we are trading for DJ Lemahieu!!! |
End of 2021 Recap!
We finished 87-75 and captured the second wildcard in the AL. We will faceoff against the Astros!
https://i.imgur.com/pypgLjd.jpg Here is the final pitching stats for 2021! https://i.imgur.com/e5lwmW6.jpg Cionel Perez had a very strong year and I think we will give him the start in the wildcard game. Mid-season callups of Casey Mize and Beau Burrows showed they are clearly MLB ready. Spencer Turnbull had a down year and was sent to AAA when we called up Casey Mize and Beau Burrows. Here is the final batting stats for 2021! https://i.imgur.com/fgyJQ7B.jpg Our offense was lead by Ryan McMahon (led AL in BA), Paul DeJong and midseason callup Daz Cameron. Grayson Greiner was also having a down year, so he was optioned to AAA in order to free up at bats for Jake Rogers. He didn't hit much better when in AAA unfortunately (albeit in a small sample size). Adam Haseley won IL player of the year in AAA. https://i.imgur.com/jAP3T85.jpg |
Off to another ALDS!!!
Turns out the Perez was very tired, so we went with another former Astro vs his old team in Rogelio Armenteros and he did not disappoint.
https://i.imgur.com/ELC82ui.jpg Joe Jimenez gave up a 2 run homer to Alvarez in the bottom of the 8th. Doolittle was somewhat tired (68%), but if I was manager this would have been the spot to use him. Trying to stretch him for a two inning save seems to risky in a one game winner goes on. Also, Miggy got ejected in the 3rd inning haha. I debated whether to plug Biggio in at DH, but we need him as backup in case someone else gets hurt. |
Congrats to Cleveland!
Another hard fought playoff series vs division rivals, but again we come out on the losing end of things.
https://i.imgur.com/sN6eWvb.jpg Hopefully Bieber is not injured long term. I will be rooting for Cleveland to come out as WS victors again. Once we get to the start of the offseason I will switch over to OOTP 21. |
Tough way to end the season, but plenty of promise next year! Like the way you write down your "thought process" when it comes to trades, and managing the team overall. Keep it up! Good read!
|
Reading through this, it's funny how many of the same players we have. I'm currently running a Mariners franchise and have the following players.
Ryder Jones Rogelio Armenteros Jaren Kendall Curtis Taylor - although I lost him recently on waivers Braden Bishop Casey Mize Shed Long |
That is funny blink. What year are in now? Did you start it in OOTP 20 or 21?
|
Tampa beats Dodgers for WS Victory!!!
I can't quite believe it, but the 2021 World Series Champions are the Tampa Bay Rays!!!
https://i.imgur.com/mF7zmtb.jpg Here is a picture of their end of season pitching stats! They lost Brendan McKay to injury at the end of August and Diego Castillo for over a year in September. Only pitcher they signed in free agency was Joe Smith prior to 2021. https://i.imgur.com/g0syY9Y.jpg Here is a picture of their end of season batting stats! Couple players notes: they traded a package of nobodies for Sal Perez before 2021, Choi to get McKinney in 2019, Brett Sullivan for Jenista before 2020 and signed Souza Jr. before 2021. https://i.imgur.com/Dv4B9HJ.jpg Couple minor league players updates : Wander Franco just dominated AA, look for him to make the team early next April. They still have guys like Jesus Armando Sanchez, Austin Meadows, Nick Solak and Taylor Walls in the high minors. Tampa has moved up to 22nd in payroll.I love the production from pre-arb players they have. https://i.imgur.com/OegJDIR.jpg Also, I found their personnel to be very interesting.GM and hitting coachs as "inexperienced". https://i.imgur.com/3opdg3d.jpg Now time to transfer over to OOTP 21 and continue rebuilding the Tigers! |
Quote:
I'm playing OOTP20 and currently in the 2021 Spring Training. Armenteros is currently my #2 SP. Mize #4 SP Jones - 1B/3B Kendall - Rule 5 draft pick, he is currently my 4th OF Bishop - starting out in minors again, could see some MLB time Looking at the TB team you posted about, I've got McClanahan, Wong, Solak and Franco as well. Solak is splitting time with Dee Gordon at 2B, hoping Solak can take that position over in 2021. The other 3 minors for now, we will see how the progress. Excited about a possible Wong/Bart catching tandem in the future. |
Wander Franco?
How did you get him from Tampa?
|
Quote:
https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=312198 Haniger and Toscano (68th ranked MLB prospect) for Glasnow and Franco. Really curious how Franco will turn out. He will start the season down in AA and we will see how he progresses. |
Farewell Miguel Cabrera and Justin Verlander!!!
What a great career Miggy had. Too bad he had to have such a down season prior to deciding to retire.
Thankfully though he will forego the 3 remaining years on his contract (he had a team option for 2025 also) which saves us $94 million. We will be retiring his number. https://i.imgur.com/ATz5E51.jpg Here is a look at his final stats. Hopefully he is a future hall of famer! https://i.imgur.com/JZvQ3j5.jpg Also, Verlander decided to retire and we are going to retire his number also. https://i.imgur.com/d6vLvpf.jpg Here is a look at his final stats. Hopefully he is a future hall of famer! https://i.imgur.com/a0b9vBe.jpg |
Trout got robbed of AL MVP!
1 Attachment(s)
Somehow our guy Ryan McMahon won AL MVP over Mike Trout!
McMahon had a great year and a 6.6 WAR with a .942 OPS, but Mike Trout had a 9 WAR season and a .934 OPS! Even Lindor (7.8) and Betts (7.3) had higher WAR than McMahon! |
Rule 5 Draft!
1 Attachment(s)
We went in to the Rule 5 draft thinking of maybe picking up a reliever or a backup infielder for depth, but ended up going a different direction.
Alec Bohm (former 3rd overall pick) was still sitting there at pick 22 for us. I like the idea of having him as a 1B option or our new DH even. Currently his team expection is "bench player", so we shouldn't worry about him complaining about playing time just yet. He had a very good 2020 in AAA, but regressed a little in 2021 (with 28 homers no less). Normally I would avoid players like this (doesn't fit my style), but we will see how it plays out. Worst case scenario, he should have some trade value. |
Ready to start 2022!!!
Here is a look at the pitchers to start the 2022 season!!!
https://i.imgur.com/dppohm1.jpg Couple of notes on our pitching in the system. -Franklin Perez - Since he was hurt most of last year (3 starts in AAA) he is going to start in AAA. We will see how he season goes, but his role might be bullpen in the not so distant future. -Matt Manning and Alex Faedo join him in the rotation down there for further MiLB seasoning. We have a trio of rookies making their MLB debuts this year. -Zac Houston - He walks too many guys, but he has been in AAA for almost 4 full seasons now. -Corbin Martin - We were trying to use him as a starter, but we don't have a need in AAA rotation. He has 3 good pitches, so let's see how he does in a MLB bullpen. -Kyle Zurak - Came over in the Lourdes Gurriel Jr. trade. Had a very good season in AAA last year. He will start the season in MLB, but could be first one to option to AAA. *Albert Abreu is out of options. He will serve as an emergency starter. Also, I would feel a lot better if we could add a left handed reliever (or two, or three haha). Here is a look at our batting lineups to start the season. https://i.imgur.com/oXnEF5R.jpg I don't know what to do with Willi Castro. He is still quite young (soon to be 25), going to be Arb eligible for the first time next winter, his personality is "Outspoken", but he has high work ethic. He is also average at best in RF and we can't really move him to LF with Schrock there. I have zero interest in moving Biggio in order to open up a spot at 2B for him either. My game plan will be to dangle him as a trade chip for a rental bat (if we are in contention). Also, complicating matters somewhat is Adam Haseley. He is ready for MLB, but I am going to train him up a CF to start the season in AAA. Couple of notes on our batters in the system. -Adley Rutschman - Had his first taste of AAA pitching last season and didn't hit for power. Probably just bad luck since the average and OBP were decent. https://i.imgur.com/jtsFtZg.jpg -Isaac Paredes - Also got to AAA for the first time last year. He did very well in 50ish games. He might be the replacement for Ryder Jones at 3B, but his defense isn't terrific at 3B. He has low "adaptability" and low "intelligence" which is never a good combination, but hasn't seemed to affect him yet. https://i.imgur.com/yXLjyy9.jpg -Kody Clemens (son of Roger) - Had a great season in AA, moved up to AAA and kept on hitting. Lacks the "range" on D, but I am going to try him at 3B to start the season. If Paredes isn't next in line to 3B, it might be Clemens. Not going to lie, his "outspoken" personality also worries me. https://i.imgur.com/9uPyjhd.jpg Our hitting coach retired at start of the offseason. Here is our new hitting coach. :thumbup1: https://i.imgur.com/73QSgE0.jpg |
38-18 at 2022 Draft Time!!!
Wow! Did not expect what a start to the season we are having!!!
Here is a look at the pitching so far. https://i.imgur.com/Ih3kK3P.jpg Armenteros won Pitcher of the Month for April and Mize won it for May! We lost Beau Burrows for 4 months after only 3 starts. We also lost Matt Manning for the season (he was in AAA). We are going stay with Franklin Perez in the rotation for now, but we might try opener/follower with him since he only has 45 stamina. Here is a look at our (depleted) batting so far. https://i.imgur.com/436W8GY.jpg Haseley has been amazing since recalled late April. Ryder Jones is having a tremendous season! Alec Bohm has been smashing the ball! Paul DeJong somehow has a "sore elbow" and was day-to-day and then strained his oblique. We put him on IL and his return is "Unknown". We have been playing Willi Castro at SS since Haseley took his job in RF. Ryan McMahon also strained his oblique and is out 5-6 weeks! https://i.imgur.com/OTGz9mE.jpg Daz Cameron broke his hand and may miss remainder of the season. His stats from 2021 look to have been inflated by above average BABIP. https://i.imgur.com/H6eeUM1.jpg There is one other player I wanted to update everyone on, and it pains me to show it. Adley Rutchman has struggled mightily at AAA this season. Approx. 150 plate appearances and an OPS of .435 :( His BABIP is an unimaginable .185 during this stretch. We have sent him to AA to try and regain his confidence. |
2022 Draft Recap!
With the 24th overall selection, we chose Steve Maisel, a HS pitcher from Missouri.
We ended up agreeing to an above slot signing bonus of $6,000,000. https://i.imgur.com/mkze23Q.jpg With our 2nd round selection, we chose Murdock Zigay (what an unreal name), a HS CF from Canada. He looks like he might have some 2 way potential, but his third pitch doesn't look like it will develop, so he would be a reliever at best. He will try 2 way initially, but if it isn't working we will use him as a batter only. We agreed to the slot signing bonus around $1,000,000. https://i.imgur.com/52KsRGc.jpg We had two picks in the 3rd round (one from a failed 2021 signing). We used the first pick on Chad Walton, a HS pitcher from NY. https://i.imgur.com/Zi3J95H.jpg We used the second pick on Bobby Needham, a college "CF" from Utah. He looks the have the makeup of a super utility guy. Since he is older, he will start in low A, with the hopes of getting him up to A ball before the season is over. https://i.imgur.com/27DJKx4.jpg With our fourth round selection, we chose Tommy Phillips, a HS batter from Detroit! He was listed as a LF, but profiles as a 1B/DH kind of guy. https://i.imgur.com/Cvub2sh.jpg With our fifth round selection, we chose Bobby Conkey, a HS outfielder from Florida. https://i.imgur.com/dEIDQi3.jpg |
We found a lefty reliever!!!
We have made a trade with the Yankees for Andrew Miller!
They had acquired him from SF this offseason and the Giants ate 30% of his salary. In the trade to get Miller, the Yankees agreed to pay the remaining 70%. https://i.imgur.com/ZXFdz8x.jpg They also gave us Trejyn Fletcher, a 2 way player who was a former 2nd round pick. He doesn't look like he will be super successful as a pitcher, so we might not use him as a 2 way for long. https://i.imgur.com/1qMJeMv.jpg All they wanted in return was an outfielder we were playing in high A named Ernesto Adames. https://i.imgur.com/mAccvEX.jpg |
Zack Britton!!!
1 Attachment(s)
I was looking at the trade block and the Cubs were looking to move Zack Britton.
He signed a one year deal with them in the offseason. So far on the season he has appeared in 32 games and here are his stats: 38.2 innings / 2.56 ERA / 1.34 WHIP / 1.4 HR/9 / 3.5 BB/9 / 10.7 K/9 Batters are hitting : .247/.315/.400/.715 against him. Zac Houston will be sent to AAA for the time being. Zane Collins goes to Chicago. He was our 23rd round pick in 2019 and he is 25 years old. |
Big trade!!!
So ... Ryan McMahon was ready to come off the IL after his rehab assignment.
I had decided that Willi Castro would be the guy would send down. Before sending him to AAA I decide to shop him and see what we could get. The Marlins really stepped up offering Bobby Witt Jr. (Tigers pick IRL too). I was able to add in Nasim Nunez who looks like a defense first future backup infielder. https://i.imgur.com/W7vABub.jpg Here is Willi Castro. https://i.imgur.com/DYB3y2G.jpg They wanted us to throw in Luke Sherley. https://i.imgur.com/jiZcaKQ.jpg Here is Bobby Witt Jr. https://i.imgur.com/NWTnlyi.jpg And here is Nasim Nunez. https://i.imgur.com/0poMN17.jpg Bobby Witt Jr. gets his first AAA promotion and Nasim Nunez will get his first taste of AA. |
More bullpen help!
2 Attachment(s)
Cardinals had Gallegos on the block so we took them off their hands!
He was injured in spring training, but he had two really good seasons in a row prior to that. Branden Kline and Sergio Alcantara have both declined and will both be out of options in 2023. We also pick up a lottery ticket relief option who doesn't need to be rule 5 protected. He hasn't succeeded in his time in high A, but that is where we will start him out at. We need to open up a spot in the bullpen for Gallegos, so Corbin Martin will be going to AAA (possibly back in to their depleted rotation). |

I had a feeling Jake Robson might be a good MLB player after seeing him continuously rake in AAA. Unfortunately he struggled in his two month with us in 2021.
Here is a link to the trade: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...9&postcount=79 He hit a grand slam off Clay Holmes (PIT) in the 8th. He is having a great season in Texas. Below is a pic from his profile page. |
