Could you take a shot at a full team photo?
There's a team photo over in the thread for Identification of players in team photos, in which the players are wearing uniforms color-coded to their positions.
https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...&postcount=386 The coloras are laid out in an article in a subsequent post. https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...&postcount=397 Any chance you could do your magic and try to colorize the image to reveal which uniforms were which colors? |

This is a tough assignment. The difference of uniform colors coupled with the lack of player identifications make colorizing this image a guessing game. I don't really have a magic to make an educated guess as to the colors of the black and white uniforms other than making presumptions based on the darkness of the blacks and lightness of the whites in the image. Even making assumptions such as those is a bit specious as the image is washed out on the right side and in the left corner is so dark that the stripes on the uniform are not visible. I have presumed that the three gentlemen holding baseballs in the image are pitchers and hence light blue and black uniforms. I also colored Buck West (Col 87, 88, Lim YSL 88, Whe TSL 88), middle row fourth from left. according to threads of the game. I presumed that the men with catchers masks were catchers but in the case of the player in the middle, holding the cat, assumed the mask was being held by the player to his right.I used dark blue and black. One of the dark uniforms I have presumed was the first basemen and used red and dark blue. I am sharing the incomplete image at this point as I really have no more to go on than blind, slightly informed guesswork.

After some encouragement from the original poster, I have decided to finish up this project using guesswork from the image. Thanks, Infield Fly, for the Topaz pass-through which I have continued to work. I presumed that the smallest player would be a middle infielder and colored his uniform orange and black, I used the light colors on the man next to him and used the red and white shortstop uniform. the man seated in the chair is wearing a dark uniform so I chose to color it red and blue. The two men to the image left. The man to the ultimate left's uniform has no stripes that I am able to discern so I elected to color the uniform blue. The man next to him I chose to portray in light and dark blue as the right fielder. The men to the far right, one I chose to color with navy blue and white as the third baseman, while the other in light uniform colors, I have presented in red and white.
*****EDIT***** It has been suggested to me that the player in the uppermost left corner may be catcher Charlie Pike. I have recolored the uniform to that effect. |
