That indicates that the image would have been captured in Spring Training 1924 as the 1924 uniforms would be introduced on opening day 1924. So, yes, I agree with your perceptive suggestive amendment that a red color scheme would be appropriate in this circumstance.

Edward Russell Malone colorized in images with the Chicago White Sox and with the Hollywood Stars. Both images were shared by tnfoto and I have employed Palette.fm for backgrounds in both images.

Thank you for your much valued colorization of Ernie Maun.

Continuing on the 1924 theme here is an image of Elmer Yoter with the Cleveland Indians from that year.

Well, I checked everywhere I could and sadly couldn't find any info as to the uniform colors so I decided to just do his head. I also enhanced the face a bit more and removed the background

The bible when it comes to uniforms of the 19th Century is Craig Brown's site, maybe you checked it and discovered the limited amount of information in respect of the color scheme.

Thank you so much for the Yoter colorization.

An example of the 1924 Philadelphia Phillies uniform is on show in respect of this image of Lew Wendell.

yes I saw that. I tend to use that site for reference a lot though I made a few discoveries that I had them add on occasionally so I always try to make sure.

Thanks..."Johnny come lately" compared to vets like Ctrane, Baseball-birthdays, and Krantzbucks. I've learned a lot viewing their work.

I also enjoy being an occasional co-conspirator with KB in tweaking the nose of "he who shall not be named". :friday:

Roscoe Coughlin 1890

William Edward "Roscoe" Coughlin colorized. I couldn't find a reference for the Chicago Maroons. Baseball Reference shows Coughlin suiting up with the 1890 Chicago Colts. Threads of our game details that the team was called the Colts and the Black Stockings. Palette.fm provides backgrounds

From Threads of Our Game:
February 1890, Chicago (NL) v. St. Augustine, exhibition game: “There was a great cheer when the Chicagos appeared on the field. Their uniform is a light gray, with black stockings, black caps and trimmings of the same color.” From the Chicago Inter Ocean, February 15, 1890. Research from Don Stokes.

****EDIT****
I have amended the image to attempt to emulate the sample image that UKBaseballfan supplied on the next page (Thanks!). I don't know much about pre 1900 baseball. Any additional information that can be supplied with images is helpful. Hope this one works better!

the image came from his 1880s old judge card which had the team listed as the maroons which was a minor league team, but that definitely works too as a nice view of what he would have looked like in a Colts uniform. thanks!
