Going to be hard pressed to get a crown out of Gold this week. Four teams, two per league all in different divisions.
Good Luck to all this season. |
D352 Setup

Here's the setup for Diamond. It seems that we have been placed with our BFF buds.
|
Ill post the Iron results from last week later, but K-Town took the crown. I captured the standings yesterday before they disappeared.

Yeah, Diamond is really nice. Not a single whale to be found. 23 of the teams, as mentioned, are either BFF or OL. And there are no whales among the other seven. Sweeeet!

K-Town wins by .003 over Ft.Huachuca. All 19 games were against one opponent, but dems the breaks :) Congrats!

Good luck all! |
I'm confused how Gold got so messed up. I checked Brigadoon and they are using friends list, and the list itself has everyone in it (except a few teams in Iron). So.... it's a mystery to me.
|

Had appointment, so my first chance to check in. Since I'm still having to use my laptop, my friends list gets chopped off at the bottom. As far as I can see the gold teams were all in 301. Didn't work out that way? By the way, with half the teams in S276, I'll do the standings. A quick perusal of the schedules, now that the first game has been played shows that all six teams will have enough OL games. Glad to see I don't have to change the crowns. I'd not like to be the person to try and take something off that Rockpile guy's head. |
OL BFF mashup! Expect lots of lefties!
|
I don't think anything got messed up in Gold. We're all in there. I just don't think the game goes any farther then putting friends in the same league.
As is, Krikkit and Norwood will play 10 OL games since they are interleague rivals. Brigadoon and Coney Island will only play 7 games. So, no gold crown this week, I guess. Oh, well... |
Oh, I thought we were in two different gold leagues… I guess I misread the initial post.
Speaking of lefties in diamond… Last year Annandale faced LH starters in I believe 74 games so it can’t get much worse than that! |
We had one OL series in Gold that saw Brigadoon take two of three from Norwood. There are no OL games today so I will be back on Wednesday with an OL update for Gold

Syrup Start OL S276 With Sweep

Waffletown took three from Jefferson Valley to set the early pace in a light OL schedule.
In PT play, the Syrups and Asylum are division leaders, while Left Coast and Terra Incognita own wild card spots, with Jefferson Valley 1-1/2 games out of a the wild card. Port Ruppert is currently in a relegation spot. |
I would prefer to take a break from reporting standings in Diamond this week.

Plenty of teams this week to crown a legit champ.

I understand. However, if no one else grabs the ball, just the final standings at the end of the week would be great. |

I've been spending the last couple of days working on Brigadoon's tournament team. Have gotten them pretty good (thanks in part to copying Cary and Palolo's teams!). I have gotten a few packs recently.
Here's a pack I just got from a tourney. In light of the contents I promise I will not complain about any pack luck until at least next season! |

nice pull! gives me hope that someday I might pull a top notch car.... I almost finished that thought without laughing... almost decided to sell off some of the live rewards that don't fit the old time theme (rather than keep 'em for tourney use)... picked up a few new 19th century cards to add to the mix (team year average for the 25 man roster is now 1909 :D) |
Keepers Lead Not So Busy OL S276
1 Attachment(s)
Asylum is on top of a chase that still has a team yet to enter. I thought when I scanned through on the first day, there seemed to be a decent spate of games. Of course, among the irksome things about PT is their lousy schedule making, which would seem to be an easy fix. See this schedule, with Waffletown and Jefferson Valley playing nine games in a compressed time period. Sigh! It's the hand we were dealt.
In PT play, the Keepers and Syrups are division leaders, while Left Coast and Terra Incognita hold wild card spots. Port Ruppert and Jefferson Valley are in relegation spots. |
Bronze 226

Standings may include games played today since I just took the records off the site.
|
Getting thoroughly thrashed in Bronze again. Looks like its time for a paradigm shift. Putting LIVE collections on hold to build a killer Iron tourney team so I can get packs to sell for funding my LIVE missions. I may start to sell common SE cards to find similar pieces that will give my team a little different identity than the cookie-cutter SE team.

Keeper Still Lead in OL S276
1 Attachment(s)
Asylum continued to set the pace from the sidelines, while Port Ruppert and Waffletown applied a little pressure. With the number of OL games there are, however, any of the six could make enough of a run to claim the crown.
In PT, Asylum leads the AC Central, Waffletown the NC West. Left Coast is 5 back of the AC wild card, Terra Incognita 1/2 back in the NC. Port Ruppert is just outside relegation, Jefferson Valley just inside. |

A look at where Gold stands. Not many games played, not many left to play. Norwood and Krikkit play two three games series today and Norwood has a series with Brigadoon tomorrow and that will complete the OL schedule for this week.

With that said I'm giving a tip of the cap to Stanley and borrowing his idea. I placed 2nd in a lot of tournaments the last couple of days, the Rebels have six regular packs and Coney Island 6 regular and one gold pack as of now. I am going to let them accumulate (hopefully) and open them all over a cup of coffee Saturday morning. Opening packs does bring me back to being a kid again. |

Scouting Iron and developing my team chemistry. I'm going to let my current team ride then use it to gather more PP back in Iron next week then will auction off SE parts (except for Ichiro) that have not been performing well (Eddie Plank will be first on the list) and will get other Diamond players that fit my mold. Will hopefully get a good enough Iron tourney team to get packs to fund my bankroll for more packs. I did have a decent Gold team going but it seems there are more Iron tournaments going to chose from.

Thanks, but really, if you need a break, just the final would be fine. |
Took a look back
At the compliance standards for OL, and it would seem that, unless Chad has changed something, there will be a crown in gold, given that there are four teams and at least two with enough games to compete. Like I've said before, we're stuck with the had we've been dealt and need to adapt. Even if it's a match race. Anybody see Seabiscuit?
|
Break's almost over, but...
I forgot to put up the remaining games in OL S276.
Terra Incognita - 4 vs JVR Jefferson Valley - 4 @ WAS, 4 @ TIR, 2 @ PRM, 3 vs WAS, 3 vs WAS Waffletown - 2 @ PRM, 4 vs JVR, 3 @ JVR, 3 @ JVR Left Coast - 3 vs ASK, 3 vs. ASK, 3 @ ASK, 4 vs ASK Asylum - 3 @ PRM, 3 @ LCL, 3 vs PRM, 3 @ LCL, 3 vs LCL, 4 @ LCL PRM - 3 vs ASK, 2 vs WAS, 3 @ ASK, 2 vs JVR Subject to typos. |
Bluffton sold the Ty Cobb the got from a pack and were able to finish the Live missions. I think it is time to let them cruise along for a little while and decide on an actual strategy for them! let them accrue PP as I would hope that any purchase from this point out is intended to be a permanent one.
I have not done a lot of work finding a direction for them, mostly focusing on the missions, now I need to take a good look at what I actually have! |

Krikkit will be the OL crown winner. Norwood and Brigadoon have a 3 game set today and that will conclude OL play. Krikkit and Norwood will make the 10 game minimum and while Brigadoon can have the highest winning percentage they wont meet the minimum games played.
In PT play Coney Island is tied for the the top wildcard spot in the AC with Krikkit .5 games off the pace. Both teams trail their respective division leaders by 1 game. In the NC Brigadoon leads the central by 1.5 games while Norwood is holding the second WC by one game and are two games back in the west. |
Port Ruppert Makes Move in OL S276
1 Attachment(s)
The Mundys grabbed the top spot in a fairly busy OL day. They are still catchable, but with only two games left may not control their own fate. Unfortunately, when I wrote down the remaining schedule I forgot to date them, so I don't know what it looks like. Should have a better outlook tomorrow for the stretch.
In PT play, I checked, and like tourists in Vegas, the OL teams started funneling their chips back to the house. Port Ruppert was the only OL team that was above .500 and escaped relegation. Jefferson Valley is still there. Waffletown slipped to the second NC wild card spot, Terra Incognita fell to 3 games back. In the AC, Asylum still leads the AC central, but can feel the heat from below, while Left Coast retreated to 7-1/2 back in the wild card. |
Waffletown had a dismal July (7-15).... just picked up another old timey pitcher (Charlie Buffinton)... hopefully he can get 'em back to a winning mindset

The OL Season is complete. Congrats to the War Robots for taking the OL Crown.
In PT play there is a chance that all four clubs make the playoffs. In the AC-If the PT season ended today Krikkit and Coney Island would be meeting in the wildcard game with identical 74-59 records. Both teams however have the division title within reach. The Warriors are a game back in the east while the War Robots are 1.5 back in the West. In the NC- Norwood (67-65) are .5 off in the wildcard and 2.5 back in their division in third place. Brigadoon (67-66) are 1 game out in the wildcard are second in their division two games off the pace. |
Port Ruppert's Magic Number down to one in OL S276
1 Attachment(s)
The Mundys have finished their OL schedule and have a firm grip on first place, with Asylum the only team that can beat them for the crown. To do that the Keepers need to sweep their final seven games against Left Coast.
In PT play, Waffletown engineered an old-timey turn around and now lead the NC wild card, with the NC west within reach. Terra Incognita is 1/2 game back of the second spot. Asylum still leads the AC central. Jefferson Valley still has not escaped relegation, and while both Left Coast and Port Ruppert are clear, either could slip back down with a slumping September. |
Ill post bronze final standings tomorrow.

White Stallions galloping towards Iron
Vlora has made many bold moves in their history. Not necessarily good ones, but bold. Moving to Vlora was one. Chasing the Live AL East as their first missions goal was another.
The resulting slow pursuit of that mission left Vlora's roster depleted and struggling, eventually sending them to Stone and OL purgatory. However, they finally completed the AL East mission earlier this season, and the resulting additions of SE Mike Mussina, SE Robinson Cano, and SE Evan Longoria have been enough to boost the White Stallions to a playoff spot and possible advancement to Iron next season. Vlora management also pursued the Live White Sox mission to add SE Ted Lyons, who has been a definite boost late in the season. The White Stallions are on a 17-game winning streak. Yes, that is also a bold statement for a team who is as superstitious as any other, and knows that talking about it is definitely breaking an unwritten rule. Even bolder is the Vlora's decision to forego any other Live missions. While completing missions is one way to build great teams (as most every other OL team can attest), Vlora will be pursuing other methods. (None that involve trash cans) Glorious Victory Awaits! |
Gold
Coney Island won the AC East and will be heading to the post season along with Brigadoon who secured a wildcard spot in the NC.
Norwood fell 2 games short in their division and trailed Brigadoon by 1 game for the final playoff spot. Krikkit who started September looking like like a playoff team stumbled with a 10-15 record, missing out on the wildcard by three games and the division by eight. They will however be crowned OL gold champion later today. |
Port Ruppert Tops OL S276
1 Attachment(s)
The suspense was over early, as OL's oldest franchise won the crown when Asylum lost in its first OL game.
In PT play Asylum won the AC central and Waffletown is in the NC wild card game. Jefferson Valley will be relegated. Left Coast, Port Ruppert and Terra Incognita remain. Whether Asyum or Waffletown is promoted depends on their playoff success. |

Additional congratulations to the Kansas Rangers, who made the playoffs. Good luck to them. Annandale will be relegated to Gold next week. Kansas is the naturally the only OL team that might be promoted to Perfect. |
