Soon I will get busy with the new 2055 IPA season.
I have to create good rookies agents that can make the teams... the AI creates poor talent and the teams rarely get any new rookies that can make the main roster. The AI creates rookies that just stay on the reserved roster of each team and never develop. Sadly, I am still using OOTP12 for the IPA... maybe one day I'll try to transfer it to OOTP18... when I tried to go from OOTP12 to OOTP13, the league archives were messed up, so I just continued to use OOTP12. I love the Southern Association that uses OOTP18... it is truly a wonderful version of the game. |
Thanks to all of you who still check out the IPA.
The following is half what it used to be... down from an average of 250 viewers per day to 75-100 per day. I think the lapse caused by my computer problems might have contributed to the decline... and also maybe the IPA has been on too long and worn out its welcome... it's always been just a stats dump with no great story lines... but a lot of people did like it at one time. I will have to try to do something different in order to create some new enthusiasm. Any suggestions? |

I also think views can be over-rated. Don't let that get you down or influence how many people enjoy your dynasty. |

You are right. Don't remember who said it, but the bottom line on a successful dynasty is not how many views it gets, but whether the dynasty writer gets enjoyment out of doing it... that is all that is important. The truly great dynasties have a story line that is primary... a story line that brings the players alive... the baseball stats are secondary... humor is also a great addition... Orcin and Westheim come to mind... I'm sure there are quite a few other dynasties of a similar style and are very well-written, too. I wish I had the time to make the teams and players in the Islandian Pro Alliance come alive... but I made a fatal decision when I created a 64-team league... it is impossible to cover it in detail... it really exhausts me to recap the seasons... I love the playoffs, but not the regular season... should have done like DreamTeams and his Metro Leagues and limited it to 8-16 teams. |
Got a lot done today on creating capable rookies that will be drafted by the IPA clubs.
I will begin adding rookies to the rosters soon. Season 55 is coming to a ballpark near you soon! |
Completed the new rosters for 16 of the 64 teams.
IPA Season 55 should be ready to go in a week or so. |

I wouldn't change anything, unless you feel like experimenting. :eatpop: |

I think not spending all my time on the IPA has cut down on the views... I split time with my other Dynasty, the Southern Association replay. I think daily posts are important for a dynasty... it keep the viewers more involved. Dark Horse, thanks for your loyal support and helpful comments over the years... thanks a bunch for promoting the IPA, too. Much appreciate it. |
Working hard on the new rosters... but it's taking more time than I thought.
I worked on purging all of the players with poor ratings from my reserved rosters and replaced them with players who have ratings good enough to play, but it is very slow going. Many players were on the reserved rosters 10 years... none of them ever developed enough to play for the team. Looks like the AI would retire or remove the poor players from the reserve roster after years of doing nothing on the team. Anybody know a way to overcome this? It's caused by the AI creating far too many inferior players that will never play... they just sit in the reserve roster. I wonder if I played with financials if this would solve the rookie problem. |
I wish I had a good suggestion, but I think what might be hard is the version you are running the league on, and it being hard to remember the differences.
When did you try upgrading? |
Quote:
I tried in 2013 right after the new version was released. My almanacs did not convert properly. I plan to try to convert OOTP12 to OOTP18 and just see what I end up with. |
21 of the 64 rosters have been updated.
Hope to play the 2055 Islandian Pro Alliance season in a week or so. |
Been spending too much time on the wonderful playoffs and World Series.
Only done 25 of the 64 IPA rosters update. |
39 or the 2055 IPA rosters have been updated with rookies.
Should be able to start the new season late this week. |
18 team rosters of the 64 teams left to do.
I found a way to make it go a little bit quicker. 2055 Islandian Pro Alliance season coming in a week or so. |
Only 3 teams left to update... getting very close to starting the new 2055 IPA season.

Sunday, June 20, 2055 GOOD RACES IN THE IPA AT MIDSEASON Most of the big guns and top dogs are playing well in the Islandian Pro Alliance at midseason... defending Pro Cup champion Midway is atop the Tycobbian East... powerful Turon is tied with Southport for the lead in the TU South race... and Denton City and White River are leading the TU West and TU North respectively... over in Ruthlandia, Middlefield is again dominating the RU West by a big margin... Taranto is on top of the RU North... Grand City is in first place in the RU South... but there's a huge surprise in the RU East where perennial also-ran and doormat Belle Plaine has a narrow edge over favorite Wynnamac. Halfway through the year the biggest bulge in the IPA this year goes to the Middlefield Roosters in the Ruthlandian West with an 11-game lead over the Stoner Stars and Sligo Rovers... the other three divisions are logjammed with tight races... in the RU North the Taranto Tars are in a four-team tango with Far Mountain, Valmara and LaGrange... they have a game edge over the Redhawks, two over the Vipers and are four games in front of the Sports... in the super-tight RU South almost all of the teams are still in the running... the Grand City Cybercats are ahead of preseason pick Waleska and last year's division winner Valka by three games... St. John is fourth in the standings and trail by only four games... the big news in the RU East are the Belle Plaine Musketeers, a sixth-place club a year ago... at midyear the Muskies possess a narrow two-game margin over the strong Wynnamac Sundowners... Marston, Cold Creek and Elnora are all within striking distance of the top spot, just a few games off the pace. Going into the All-Star break, the reigning IPA titlist and juggernaut Midway Wolves are having an unexpected tough time in the Tycobbian East... four teams are hanging close by and still in the race... East Point is just three games out... High Mesa is four back... and two clubs, South Fork and Hillsboro are deadlocked for fourth and trail by six games... powerhouse Turon is in quite a tangle, too... they are tied for the TU South lead with the Southport Sun Sox... and the Arroyo Grande Suns are just a game behind the co-leaders... in the other two Tycobbian divisions a couple of strong teams are ahead with good leads... the TU North leader is White River, which has a seven-game edge over rising Oxford... Denton City also has a fairly confortable six-game lead over last year's division champ Arlon and the Rolling Hills Reds. |

Thursday, June 24, 2055 TU STARS WINS 6TH STRAIGHT ALL-STAR GAME It was close and hard-fought and not decided until the last out of the game, but the Tycobbian All-Stars still continued their dominance in the 55th IPA All-Star Classic, winning for the sixth straight time... the TU Stars edged the RU Stars 4-3 at Joe Wolf Stadiun in Midway with SS Vincent McCloud (Denton City) driving in the decisive run in the 5th frame... McCloud singled in CF Dwayne Wagner (Oxford) from third base to wrap up Tycobbia's 37th triumph in 55 games... Tycobbia pitching blanked Ruthlandia the final six innings... the All-Star Most Valuable Player Award, however, went to Callum Slattery (Glasco), who collected two hits, drove in two runs and scored two... Slattery homered in the first inning to give the RU Stars a short-lived advantage... Tycobbia came back in the bottom of the 1st and tied the score on an RBI single by Dwayne Wagner and a bases-loaded walk to 1B Russell Taylor (Arroyo Grande)... both runs came off losing pitcher Primo Sirak (Valmara)... RF Daryl Vale (Midway) put the TU Stars ahead 3-2 in the last of the 2nd frame when he singled in 2B Kuzuki Tamura (Ginza) from third base... Slattery's triple and 2B Steven Hornblower's (Fort Benton) sac fly evened it up again in the top of the 3rd... Tycobbia outhit Ruthlandia 10 to 8... Benny Allen (East Point) worked a scoreless 5th to garner the victory. |
