Wonderful find! Thank you so much.

A subpar 1924 image of Al Yeargin is attached, possibly originating from the Spalding guide.

A right handed pitcher, he represented the Braves in just 1 game in 1922. B-R lists his only appearance as a complete game but he only pitched 7 innings, does that indicate the game was abandoned for inclement weather or more likely darkness? He only gave up one earned run but the game is recorded as a 3-0 loss to the Giants. The game was played on the tail end of a double hitter on 1st October and was the final game of their season. Another oddity was that he gave up a home run to Mahlon Higbee, Higbee's only career home run, yet Higbee never played in the Major Leagues again.

Yeargin returned to the Braves in 1924, his final season, and posted a 1-11 record from 12 starts. He pitched 141 plus innings over 32 appearances including 6 complete games.

James Almond Yeargin colorized with the Boston Braves. This image was a bit of a challenge. As Infield Fly has mentioned on occasion with these AI influenced efforts, the verisimilitude of the image as being an accurate depiction of its subject comes into question the more the image is upscaled. In this case, I ran the image through Pica.AI once and then through deepnostalgia twice. I deployed both Palette.fm and kolorize.cc and wasn't sure which one I liked better. The Palette is the first colorized image, kolorize second.

Yes, grateful for all your determinations and efforts. I can see why you had difficulties in assessing a favoured outcome. I decided to plump for the palette option purely for the reason that the cap appeared to be a more realistic match.

Attached is a 1924 image of Joe Green with the Philadelphia Athletics.

Green's only Major League appearance was on July 2nd 1924. It was the second game of a double header with the New York Yankees. The A's eked out a 10-9 win in the first game but were convincingly defeated 10-1 in the latter. In his only at bat as a pinch hitter for pitcher Fred Heimach he emerged with the distinction of facing a future Hall Of Famer, Herb Pennock

He is also pictured, seated, at the far right edge of the 1906 Waterbury Authors team photo.

In his update 11 to the facepack cinemaodyssey included this 1901 image of Walsh from his time with Notre Dame. It can be discovered by undertaking a search for John Walsh and then downloading the facepack.
