CRUSADERS, CLIPPERS, RACERS, RED CAPS LEAD 2-1
High Mesa won an extra-inning extravaganza 3-2 over Pro Cup favorite Rolling Hills yesterday and slowed the redhot Racers down... it was a must game for the Mustangs... now they are back in the battle, but still trail two games to one in the best-of-seven series... in other Island Pro Alliance postseason games, St. John moved up 2-1 with a 6-0 shutout victory over the Far Mountain Redhawks in the Ruthlandian Union portion of the playoffs... Elnora smacked Volusia 8-4 in the other RU game... defending Pro Cup champion Oxford trimmed the Southport Sun Sox 7-3 on a record-tying three-run home-run day by Buddy Blackford.

IPA CHAMP OXFORD TAKES CHARGE
The current IPA Pro Cup champion Oxford took a big step toward repeating as the best team in the Islands with its third win in four games against the Southport Sun Sox in the Tycobbian Union Division Championship Series... the Red Caps took charge with a 4-3 triumph in Saturday action in the IPA Pro Cup playoffs.

The other three series are deadlocked at two games apiece... in other Tycobbian action, this year's Pro Cup favorite Rolling Hills fell to the High Mesa Mustangs 8-6... in the Ruthlandian Union first-round play Far Mountain tied its series with the St. John Crusaders with a 7-3 drubbing... and Volusia evened up it series with the Elnora Clippers with a 2-1 victory.

ALL IPA POSTSEASON SERIES ARE 3-2
"Buy me some more peanuts and some more crackerjacks"... there is still a heck of a lot of baseball to be played in the Islandian Pro Alliance playoffs... all four first-round series are now three games to two... on the verge of elimination Southport survived in game five on the road in Oxford... the Sun Sox tamed the highly-touted Oxford Red Caps, the current IPA champion... in other Tycobbian Union play, Pro Cup favorite Rolling Hills blanked High Mesa 4-0... in the Ruthlandian Union games five went to the Volusia Vigilantes, who won a nip-and-tuck affair from Elnora 5-4... and Far Mountain topped the St. John Crusaders 5-1.

FAR MOUNTAIN, VOLUSIA ADVANCE TO RU TITLE GAME
The Far Mountain Redhawks and the Volusia Vigilantes wrapped up their first-round series in six games and will advance to the Ruthlandian Union League Championship Series... while the Tycobbian Union finalists won't known for another day... powerhouses Oxford and Rolling Hills couldn't finish off Southport and High Mesa in the sixth games, so seventh games will be needed.
Far Mountain slammed St. John 9-4 to knock the Crusaders out of the postseason playoffs... Volusia eliminated Elnora in a 16-6 rout... the Southport Sun Sox won a squeaker 5-4 over defending IPA champion Oxford and the High Mesa Mustangs nudged past this year's Pro Cup favorite Rolling Hills 5-3.

SOUTHPORT TOPS OXFORD, MEETS RACERS IN TU FINALS
In a remarkable comeback the Southport Sun Sox knocked the defending Pro Cup champion Oxford out of the postseason playoffs... trailing three games to one, Southport beat the powerful Red Caps a highly unlikely three times in a row... they were actually down to their last six outs in game six and behind by two runs, but they miraculously pulled out the victory... the Sun Sox were also down 2-0 after four innings in the seventh game, but they caught fire and and overcame Oxford 6-4... Southport now has another unenviable task of taking on another monster team, the Rolling Hills Racers, who put away the feisty High Mesa Mustangs in a seven-game series... the Racers rolled to an easy 7-2 triumph in the seventh game.

Over in the Ruthlandian Union Finals it will feature the Far Mountain Redhawks against the Volusia Vigilantes... the V's were finalist in the Pro Cup Series last year, losing out to Oxford in six games... the Tycobbian Union titlist will tangle with the Ruthlandian Union champion for the overall Islandian Pro Alliance crown.
