Got busy and updated two teams' logos and jerseys.
Hartsdale and Red Bluff's logos were too dark on game screens... Hartsdale's jerseys didn't have good contrast... and Red Bluff needed new jerseys. Both rebranding were a little extreme for my traditional tastes, but I decided to try them... I couldn't get anyone to rework them on the Graphics Forum, so I did them myself... the jury is still out on the new Hellcat image... it looks a little bit extreme, but I will give it a try. The Red Sox logo is nice using the Boston Red Sox's logo... it's the home Red Jersey I will have to get used to. |

Here's how they look in the game.
What do you think? Comments appreciated. |
Both of those rebranded jerseys look great! Unfortunately in my league they’ve both been terrible teams and I won’t use them until they make the playoffs

Saturday, October 2, 2066 VIPERS, ROVERS, HELLCATS, RACERS ALL UP 2-1 IN ROUND ONE Two upsets could be in the making in the Islandian Pro Alliance postseason playoffs... the Valmara Vipers are up two games to one over the Claxton Diamonds in the Ruthlandian Union first round, while the Hartsdale Hellcats are making life tough for the defending Pro Cup champion Southport Sun Sox in the Tycobbian Union... the Hellcats have grabbed two of the three games from the Sun Sox... the other two series are playing out like the pundits predicted... the Sligo Rovers have a 2-1 lead over the Marston Nine in the RU and Pro Cup-favored Rolling Hills has taken two of the first three games from the Red Bluff Red Sox in TU first-round play. In the Ruthlandian Union Valmara won a 12-inning nailbiter 8-7 over Claxton Friday, while Marston was rallying past Sligo 8-6... in the Tycobbian Union Hartsdale subdued Southport 4-1 and Rolling Hills roared past Red Bluff 6-1. 2066 Ruthlandian Union Division Championship Series - Game 3 (best-of-seven series) Attachment 738883 Attachment 738884 Attachment 738885 |

Just out of curiosity, have you ever considered expanding the playoffs (like, say, the division champions plus four wild cards)? |

Just as a suggestion, since you don't like the red Red Bluff uni, try just putting SOX over the heart. It would probably work better as the font you used with the Red Bluff logo. Here's a couple of examples. i like putting SOX on the cap, too. |

I settled on just the division champion making the postseason. My philosophy is that the fewer teams in the postseason, the better. I wish major league baseball would expand to 32 teams... create 4 eight-team divisions and have only four teams in the playoffs. I much prefer baseball the way it was years ago... just two teams would qualify for the World Series... with no interleague play... the World Series used to really be something special in the 50s... expansion and free agency ruined baseball as far as I am concerned. |

The old Red Bluff logo used just SOX written on a bat... I have just never like SOX by itself... I always preferred Red Sox. I'm getting used to the Red Home Red Bluff jersey... it's looking better every day... I kind of like the two shades of bright red and deep red... there's not a lot of contrast, but I think it looks pretty nice... and it is kind of unique.... at least in the IPA where I tend to be pretty much traditional in logo and jersey styles. Appreciate the suggestions... actually I used to like the White Sox's red and blue SOX only on their jerseys. |

Sunday, October 3, 2066 CLAXTON, MARSTON TEETERING ON DEFEAT IN RUTHLANDIAN UNION, ALL TEAMS TIED IN TYCOBBIAN UNION The number-two rated Claxton Diamonds and the number-eight ranked Marston Nine are in a heap of trouble after four games of play... both are teetering on the brink of elimination at the hands of upstart Valmara and favored Sligo... the Vipers and the Rovers are in command with three games to one lead in the best-of-seven series... all they need is one more win to advance to the Ruthlandian title series... Valmara took game four 5-1 from the Diamonds, while Sligo rode its strong pitching to a 2-0 victory over the Nine. Everybody is relatively happy in the Tycobbian Union first-round action... the four clubs have split the first four games... no one is in jeopardy of elimination in game five... Pro Cup defending champion Southport evened its series with feisty Hartsdale 6-2... and lightly-regarded Red Bluff stayed in the game with a 2-1 triumph in 10 innings over this year's Pro Cup favorite Rolling Hills. 2066 Ruthlandian Union Division Championship Series - Game 4 (best-of-seven series) Attachment 739897 Attachment 739898 Attachment 739899 |

Monday, October 4, 2066 SLIGO ADVANCES TO RU TITLE SERIES... VIPERS, SUN SOX, RACERS TAKE CHARGE IN OTHER SERIES Home runs and shutout pitching propelled the Sligo Rovers past the Marston Nine in five games... the Rovers blanked the Nine for the second straight game, defeating them 3-0 in the deciding game of the first round Ruthlandian series... Sligo awaits the winner of the Valmara-Claxton series... the Rovers will play them in the Ruthlandian Union title series. All of the other series are now three games to two... Claxton staved off elimination with a 4-2 victory over Valmara in the fifth game of the series, but still trails the Vipers by a game... IPA champion Southport kept their repeat chances alive with a 4-0 win over the Hartsdale Hellcats... and Pro Cup favorite Rolling Hills just barely nudged by the Red Bluff Red Sox 2-1... Claxton, Southport and Rolling Hills will try to wrap up the best-of-seven series on their home fields in games six and seven. 2066 Ruthlandian Union Division Championship Series - Game 5 (best-of-seven series) Attachment 740190 Attachment 740191 Attachment 740192 |
