Riverfront Stadium from 2001 (Then called Cinergy Field) when they partially demolished a section and changed the dimensions dramatically.

WOW!!! That is nice! Yeah, Riverfront/Cinergy really was radically different from the donut that the Big Red Machine played in during their championship run in the 70s.

I knew when you were MIA for a while that you were probably working on something good! Outstanding!

I thought the same thing!

silvam14 09-11-2016 09:18 AM

I wasn't MIA per se. I just won't be able to keep cranking them out at the pace I have been or I will end up divorced again. Haha

I understand that!

You mean it shouldn't be OOTP?

Scott Vibert 09-11-2016 03:03 PM

LOL!! Exactly! (I'm very fortunate - my wife lets me play OOTP for the most part as much as I like and she occasionally takes part to see the 3D ballparks. She's actually quite impressed with the game, which is cool, given how much time I spend goofing around with it.)

So just to be clear, to get these to work in game, I just load the .obj file, and then load up the daytime and nighttime picture? Then it's good to go? Do the park factors automatically update or do I have to do something separately for that?

adion 09-12-2016 12:33 PM

You put the whole folder for the park, e.g. Fictional1, in the 'Models" folder for OOTP 16 or 17. If you installed the game in the default locations, the path is MyDocuments/Ot of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 17 (or 16 whichever you are using)/ballparks.( If you download all of the fictional parks at one time, just extract them to that folder.) The in-game go to the edit ballparks function via League Settings. Then select 3D file from the Pictures and Coordinates tab and select the park you want to use. You get a pop up menu for that park that shows the .obj file. Select that obj file and load it. There are no daytime or nighttime selection for 3D parks. The time of day is built into to the 3D park system. That is all you have to do. After re-reading your question, I am wondering if you are talking about 2D parks. If so, there are no 2D versions of these parks at least not to my knowledge. I hope this answers your questions.

There is a jpg of each park included that should be set to day and night (there is only one pic)

Park factors will need to be updated manually as I did not include those when creating the stadiums. Perhaps I could include them in the future

2D Pictures day/night with backgrounds

Cole,

There is a way you can get the day or night 2D parks with backgrounds, if that is what you want. Just open the park you want in the ballpark editor and load the 3D version. Then use some program that you can capture the part of the screen that shows the park ( I use SnagIt) and save it as the as the park name day or night, to the parks folder in models. You can select the day or night picture in the 3D viewing screen. Most of this parks with backgrounds don't have sky showing so only need to save one and use it for day & night. This example is for Fictional 2. I saved the two files as Fictional2day.jpg & Fictional2night.jpg.

I should note that the grid on Fictional 3 is all screwed up and I have been unable to fix it. The procedure that comes with that game doesn't work. It makes it worse.

I fixed the grid (finally) in Fictional 3 and the fixed file has been uploaded to my 3D fictional parks with backgrounds.

Silvam - quick question - where do we get the data for the park factors for a given park for a given year? How are the park factors determined? (Once I know where to go to find the info, I'll go back in to update them for my '71 season replay).

adion 09-12-2016 09:39 PM

Try this for distances.

I don't know the first thing about park factors

Here's what I would do - once you have the dimensions and weather data, plug all that info into Eriq Jaffe's ballpark creator. It will calculate park factors for you.

I'll give that a try! We have weather and dimensions in the game already - but is that the same information that gets entered into Eriq Jaffe's ballpark creator? I've never worked with it before so I don't know how it works. Either way, I'll give it a try!
