That completes the 2067 Islandian Pro Alliance season.
Will get busy working on the rosters for the 2068 season. Should be ready to roll in a week or so. Thanks for checking in on the IPA... much appreciate all of you. |
Just to let you know, I am having computer problems... waiting on new backup batteries.
Will not post until then. My IPA league is OK... but I think I have lost my North Island-South Island leagues due to a computer glitch caused by a bad backup battery. |
i'd hate to think of you (or anyone for that matter) losing a dynasty; especially considering how long and hard you've work on them.
|
I'm glad that your IPA is ok. Sorry about the other league
|
Appreciate your concern... thanks.

Have had computer problems... ordered parts for repair last Thursday, won't get them until Monday.
Will work on IPA season 68 at that time. |
Added rookies to 5 teams today... got my computer fixed.
Also updated and purged rosters of poor players. Don't think I will convert the IPA to OOTP22 until several months have passed... I think it is wise to let them fix the early problems and bugs... I have always waited until July before I converted to the new game edition... it has worked well for me. Season 2068 should start in a week to 10 days. |
Happy to read that the computer is fixed. Sorry about your north island league, that is a real shame.

I need to do a more recent backup for the Islandian Pro Alliance... but it takes 18 hours to back it up. I did a backup a few seasons ago, so I wouldn't lose a whole lot... maybe a couple of seasons. |

I will miss them, too. Not sure what corrupted the league... will never know why. Maybe I didn't shut down the league in time when the backup battery went dead... I thought I did it in time, but apparently that shutdown damaged the league. |
Did 5 more teams today... updating the active rosters and also purged the reserve rosters of the the poor players that will never make it to the big team.
15 teams of the 64 teams have been done. It is taking longer than I thought... but to do it right takes time. |
Only did 2 teams today... watched a couple of games... Yanks-Blue Jays... and Dodgers and Rockies.
I plan to watch one game a day and try to get to know as many teams as possible that way... reading about them in the paper and watching the game highlights is not really the way to do it... at least as far as I am concerned... shows like Quick Pitch just show a lot of homers, a lot of strikeouts and the top plays of the day... I want to get to know the players better. Wish I had a MLB team in my hometown that I could watch on a daily basis at the ballpark. |

I grew up in the NOLA area, so of course we never had an MLB team, though we came close to getting the A's before and maybe the Royals, too, when they were threatening to leave. My favorite local baseball team has been attending games at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge for the LSU Tigers. I also grew up watching a lot of TBS and WGN and WWOR, so I watched a lot of Braves and Cubs and Mets when I was younger. Every summer, I would also take a trip to Houston for AstroWorld and the Astrodome for Astros baseball. From all of that, my main allegiances were to the Braves and Astros. Since I got to watch the Cubs and Mets a lot, too, I was well aware of NL baseball and still feel more of a pull to the NL teams just because I had full access to them when I was younger. The AL was for Sunday national broadcasts only. |

I stop going to LSU baseball games when they raised the price to $8 a game... that way too much for college baseball. But as you know we are happy in Louisiana if the sports teams are #1 while our academics rate 50th in nation... we in Louisiana don't have our priorities right... the state would be much better off if the academics were #1 and our sports teams were rated 50th. Big companies don't want to come to Louisiana because of the poor educational level of our schools. |
I used to enjoy the Baton Rouge River Bats and the Baton Rouge Blue Marlins... in the independent leagues several years ago... the quality of play was quite good, but poorly attended at Goldsby Field, which I think the Baton Rouge Red Sticks used for Evangeline League games in the 40s and 50s... it was a Class D minor league.
Before the pandemic hit, there was supposed to be another independent team to play at Goldsby... the Baton Rouge Rougerou... or something like that... haven't heard if they are still going to start in June. They will not be successful... Baton Rouge folks only go to LSU games. The league is the Texas Collegiate League... an independent league. |
Got busy today and did 10 more teams.
27 of the 64 team rosters have been updated now. |
