Thanks for the link... the Laseron Baseball Association is my favorite Dynasty Report ever... really was unique in the early days of OOTP... it had a wonderful website and was a marvelous creation of a fictional world... along with the Metro League by DreamTeams, it inspired the Islandian Pro Alliance 10-15 years ago... the LSA had a wonderful storyline, newspaper articles about each team and team uniforms... plus a map of the fictional world... the Laseron Baseball Association was really something special,

Hope you guys revive and get it going again soon... hope you will post it here on the OOTP Dynasty Forum so we can follow it.

STALLIONS WIN 2 ROAD GAMES, MAY SWEEP PRO CUP-FAVORED WHITE RIVER
The South Fork Stallions have blistered White River twice on the Rascals' home diamond and are thinking the "unthinkable" - sweeping the Pro Cup favorite... South Fork edged White River 8-7 Saturday to take a 2-0 lead in the Tycobbian Union Title Round... one more win in the best-of-five affair and it's on to the Pro Cup Series for the Stallions... one more defeat for the Rascals and it's all over for them for the season.

The Ruthlandian Union Title Series is still going strong... Valmara nipped the Valka Blackhawks 5-4 and deadlocked that series at one game each.
Both series will now change venues... games 3 and 4 will be hosted by the Blackhawks and South Fork will be the site of at least game 3 of the TU Title Series... if White River stays alive with a victory, the Stallions will again be the home team... if needed, game 5 is slated for White River Stadium.

PRO CUP HOPES STILL ALIVE FOR WHITE RIVER, VALKA TAKES LEAD IN RU TITLE SERIES
The Pro Cup-favored White River Rascals were on the verge of elimination in the Tycobbian Union Title Round with redhot South Fork, but the Rascals turned it on and played like champs in game 3, coming away with an 8-1 victory to keep their slight chance alive... White River will get another day in the IPA playoffs.

In the Ruthlandian Union Title clash, the Valka Blackhawks slammed the Valmara Vipers 7-0 in the 3rd game of the series to go up to a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five affair.

South Fork and Valka will try to finish White River and Valmara off in game 4 with the home-field advantage.... should they lose, then the advantage switches to the Rascals and Vipers, who will get game 5 on their diamonds.

Is the Laseron Baseball Association going to be revived?
Really hope so... it was fantastic dynasty... the best ever in my opinion... wonderful backstory, excellent website, well-organized, well-administered... I loved the newspaper with writeups and reports on each team... and the team graphics were special, too... it was all a great dynastyr should be.

I'll be following Dark Horse's Geo Bahn Rock Hounds.

I don't use financials in my games... I would be lost in an on-line league... plus I don't know the inner workings of OOTP... I just create a league and then watch it play out and report on it.

We are very similar in this respect! The one thing that I've started to do is control the substitutions in the games that I watch because many things that the AI does are nonsensical. In one game I watched a couple days ago they took out a dominant starting pitcher after only 84 pitches, and the bullpen blew the game. There was another situation where it was the 9th inning and the team at-bat had a rally going with RISP and only one out, and they pinch hit for a superstar with a bench player. The bench player popped out.

The AI has gotten much better over the years... years ago I remember it pinch-hitting for Ty Cobb in my All-Time All-Star Association dynasty league with a much inferior hitter... the AI has cut down on bad decisions like this.

I have seen it pull a pitcher with a shutout and less than 100 pitches when he wasn't tired... so he would lose his shutout.

I used to sim the first 6 innings of my postseason playoffs... but soon learned that the AI would pull a starter that was doing a good job too soon too often... so I began to sim for the first 5 innings.

With the animation for the last few versions, I now play out the entire game and make all substitutions... also control most of the offense and baserunning... I let the AI handle defense.

STALLIONS VS BLACKHAWKS IN 2073 IPA PRO CUP SERIES
Two dark horses are butting heads for this year's Islandian Pro Alliance Pro Cup Trophy... the South Fork Stallions and Valka Blackhawks did it with some fine hitting and some standout pitching that disposed of higher-touted opponents... South Fork won the Tycobbian Union title by upsetting the #1 Pro Cup pick, the White River Racscals... and Valka nabbed the Ruthlandian Union title from the highly-respected Valmara Vipers... and they did it in impressive fashion, taking the series 3 games to one.

In games four South Fork won an intense pitching duel 3-1 over White River and Valka won a 3-2 thriller from Valmara... the Stallions will be going for their 3rd Pro Cup in the team's history... the Blackhawks are seeking their first-ever IPA crown... this is the first time Valka has reached the Pro Cup Finals.

Yes, i saw the link. i am already in the discord. i waved at you a few days ago. It probably goes without saying, that if we start the LBA back up, i will be a part of it. Hopefully, Goody will get his old files of LBA v2. But, if now, maybe we'll do something else. It's just a matter getting 16 or so guys getting on the same page. Keep your fingers crossed.

Wish I could help you... I would be a drag on the league... EC knows nothing about contracts, work rules and such... don't think I would be a good GM... I think I could cover my team pretty well in your league newspaper and in an interesting fashion... I'm a decent sportswriter.

Another big plus, my team would have good logos, jerseys and caps... yep, that's for sure, that's for darn sure... my team might be pretty on the field and yet play "ugly"... yep, 54 wins and 100 losses each year wouldn't cut the mustard..

But the biggest thing that would keep me from joining the Laseron Baseball Association is my computer Illiteracy... you have to be into technology to be in an online league.

Actually, I thought I could just follow along. Like EC, I wouldn't be a good GM either. I play OOTP like he does. Just create a league and watch the progress as the commissioner.

PRO CUP SERIES -- WINNER TAKES ALL -- THE IPA PRO CUP TROPHY
The baseball journey for the South Fork Stallions and the Valka Blackhawks will soon come to an end... it's just over the horizon... one will succeed... and one will almost succeed, yet come in second... this spiritual journey is in quest of the Holy Grail of Islandia -- the sacred Islandian Pro Alliance Pro Cup Trophy -- it only comes around once a year and the Islands are enthralled, enthused and elated by it... South Fork has won the prize twice, 2025 and 2042... Valka has never won the Pro Cup... never even came close... the Stallions have made the postseason 10 times and the Blackhawks on 7 occasions... this will be the 73rd edition of the Pro Cup Series... the Tycobbian Union leads the Ruthlandian Union 40 to 32 in the annual clashes.

Only the best of the best make it here... the IPA Pro Cup Series begins this Friday afternoon in South Fork at Jock Ewing Stadium... the Stallions (97-57) will welcome the Blackhawks (95-59) for the first two encounters... games three and four (if needed) will be at Cybertel Park in Valka... should it be necessary, game five will be played in South Fork.

South Fork is the pick of the Pro Cup pundits... the biggest thing going for the Stallions is the fact that they beat last year's Pro Cup winner in round one, the Turon Typhoons, 3 games to 2... and won the TU crown by taking this year's Pro Cup favorite, the White River Rascals, 3 games to 1... South Fork also has the best starters and hits with more power... neither team has a dominant starter or reliever... Mark Meisner (16-9/3.31 ERA) is 37, in his 17th season and nearing retirement, but he has has a rebirth this year in the postseason (3-1/0.79 ERA)... he is the only ace on either team... South Fork's other starters are a slight notch above Valka's... the bullpens are pretty much even... long reliever Ramsey Crowe (12-11/4.70 ERA/10 saves/27 G) and closer Slinger Sowers (9-6/3.62 ERA/9 saves/53 games) have done the job well in the playoffs for the Stallions... if #2 starter Billy Lake (12-11/3.46 ERA) and #3 starter Skippy Simmons (10-4/2.20 ERA) can win a game between them, maybe the great Meisner has 2 more wins in him.

Valka must have something going for them, too... the Blackhawks whipped two solid teams 3 out of 4 games, topping Eastshore in round one and Valmara in the RU Title Series... how far Valka goes depends on its starters... none of them can match South Fork... 8-year veteran Bud Selvy (16-7/3.45 ERA) beat Valmara twice in the playoffs... Selvy needs help from the other two starters, Johnny Bakoyannis (11-11/4.86 ERA) and the little-used Kris Sheehan (5-0/3.18 ERA)... Boyd Spenser (6-7/3.56 ERA/7 saves/38 games) has been the only effective reliever in the postseason... Dorsey Burnette (14-2/2.47 ERA/11 saves/73 games) has to do the job, too... what a series it would have been if the Blackhawks had injured starters Priit Laur and Carlos Santa Ana?... they will also be without left fielder Olev Kotli (148 G/.301 BA/19 HR/83 RBI/111 R/41 SB), a solid hitter and defender... they lost Santa Ana (3-2/2.17 ERA) in late May... Laur (13-9/3.39 ERA) was lost in the first round... he beat Eastshore 7-2, but hurt his knee in the game... reliever Charley Clutterbuck was also injured in the Valmara series... Kotli played the first 5 games of the playoffs and hit .308 with 6 RBIs... he tore a ligament in his thumb... despite the critical losses, Valka must still be doing something right... they beat two good teams to reach the Pro Cup Series.

Valka can put runs on the scoreboard... they batted .303 in 8 games with 48 runs and 7 homers... but the Blackhawks did not face pitching like South Fork did... Turon and White River are two of the best mound corps in the IPA... the Stallions hit only .236 with 5 roundtrippers and 36 runs... however, their pitchers compiled a fine 2.83 ERA... Valka posted a 4.22 ERA and permitted only 3 home runs... Eastshore and Valmara have good hitting teams that score a lot of runs.

If Meisner and company can keep the Blackhawk bats down, they should win in 5 games... whichever team gets best pitching will win the 2073 Pro Cup.
