How do you adjust the images on the baseball cards so that they show the jersey? I have it zoomed in too much and in my game they display a head shot only.

Sunday, October 29, 2072 IPA SWING KINGS SNARE MVP TROPHIES, TOO The Islandian Pro Alliance announced the top performers in the league this season... the two Kings of Swing and this year's Golden Bats were also awarded the MVP trophies... the 2073 Ruthlandian Union Most Valuable Player Award was given to Stefan Skarzynski of the Valmara Vipers and the Tycobbian Union Most Valuable Player Award went to Carroll Ezzell of the South Fork Stallions. Ruthlandian Union MVP Skarzynski captured the RU MVP trophy for the second straight season, beating out Volusia outfielder Lenny Larker and Taranto hurler Marcello Rossi... he sparked the Vipers to their 4th consecutive RU North Division crown... Skarzynski is just 24 years of age and a 4-year veteran... the splendid first sacker played in all 154 games with a .318 BA, 21 doubles, 4 triples, 32 homers, 122 RBI, scored 118 runs and stole 38 bases... he has excelled with a career .307 BA, 121 HR, 425 RBIs and a .400 OBP... Skarzynski is a 3-time Ruthlandian All-Star. Larker blossomed this season and paced the Vigilantes to their 3rd RU West title in the last 4 seasons... the 26-year-old left fielder batted .325 in 144 games, winding up the year with 38 doubles, 8 triples, 15 roundtrippers, 80 RBIs, 121 runs scored and 37 stolen bases. Coming in 3rd in the RU Most Valuable Player poll was Taranto's superlative southpaw Marcello Rossi... he led the Tars to second place behind Valmara in the RU North pennant race... Rossi starred with an 18-5 record and a 2.66 ERA in 30 starts... he is in his 4th season at age 24. Tycobbian Union MVP This was the first time in his 5-year career Ezzell was honored as the TU Most Valuable Player... his main competition was Chicopee's talented 20-game winner Cris Samuels and White River's slugger Lynn Elkins... Ezzell stood out over his peers with a .345 BA in 151 games, leading the Tycobbian Union with 219 hits and scoring 127 runs... at age 26 Ezzell socked 23 doubles, 13 triples, 10 homers, drove in 69 runs and stole 77 bases... he has been with the South Fork Stallions for 5 years and has led them to 2 TU East pennants so far... South Fork also capped the 2073 season with the third Pro Cup Trophy in the club's history... Ezzell is a special hitter with a lifetime .331 BA. Cris Samuels had a brilliant year for the Chicopee Braves, leading them to a 3rd-place finish in the TU West... he wound up second in the TU Golden Arm race... also came in second in wins and ERA... in his 6th year in the IPA Samuels chalked up a 20-5 mark with an extrordinary 2.05 ERA... Samuels has been a vital part of building the Braves into a pennant contender... Chicopee has long been a doormat team in the IPA... they have only made the playoffs 3 times... the last time was way back in 2038. White River third baseman Lynn Elkins was a prime reason the Rascals posted a fantastic season, winning the TU North for the 3rd time in 4 seasons... White River was a terrific 106-48 this year... Elkins played in 149 games, batted .334 with 200 hits, 24 homers, 104 RBIs, 110 runs and 22 SB... he is a 4-year veteran... sadly he was injured late in the season and did not get to play in the Pro Cup playoffs... Elkins' bat was sorely missed by the Rascals... they were favored to win it all this season. Attachment 852287 Attachment 852288 Attachment 852289 |

Still waiting to see what you'd like me to try and do for your IPA, jg2977. Please get back to me as soon as you can, and all, of course, and I'll see what I can do for you, once you do. Thank you. CD out.
Edit: Oops, meant to put this in jg2977's thread, but hit the wrong line of text here by accident, EC. In any case, I am hoping for some updates related to the Freemans in your leagues, of course, in the near future. Thank you, EC. This has been an interesting dynasty to read through the reports for here, for sure. Looking forwards to seeing how this IPA continues to develop its history, you know. CD out. |
CD, your updates on the Freeman Brothers in the IPA have been posted for 2073... you can follow them in the South Island League, too... each game's box score is posted... you can see how they are doing... there are 2 games left in the 12-game season in the South Island League.
At the end of each season in the IPA I post the Freemans stats for you. Same thing for the South Island League. See posts 1923 and 1924 in your main thread on the OOTP Mods Forum... it's the 2073 report on the Freemans. |
Okay, then I may have forgotten that bit of information, at least in regards to the IPA you run. Happens sometimes that I forget things, you know. I've been rather busy of late, after all, too, in truth.
Thanks for the reminder, EC. It is much appreciated, to be honest. I can't wait to get this new thought-vein's dynasty moving, as well, whether or not I write about it on the forums, in any case. Should be an interesting one to try and do, I think. CD out. |
CD, you can find the Freeman Brothers South Island update a few posts later down the page in your thread on the OOTP Mods and Graphics Forum.
See pages 97 and 98... posts 1923, 1924, 1927, 1944, 1945. |

TOP SKIPPERS IN THE IPA FOR 2073 HONORED The top managers get the most out of their players... and maybe a little bit more... those words describe a lot of skippers in the Islandian Pro Alliance... it is hard to narrow it down to just one manager... there were 3 or 4 worthy choices in both the Ruthlandian Union and the Tycobbian Union... this year the 2073 Manager of the Year Awards went to Matvey Kazak of the Valka Blackhawks and Marty Blake of the White River Rascals. Ruthlandian Union Kazak is the 2073 Ruthlandian Union Manager of the Year and a first-time honoree... he beat out bevy of baseball brains for the award, sparking the Valka Blackhawks to their 2nd straight RU South Division title with a 95-59 mark, taking the pennant by 10 games... Kazak outpolled two other fine skippers and previous Managers of the Year, Don Ritchie of Valmara and Tubby Tarkanian of Volusia... Kazak is fairly unique in IPA managerial circles... he came to Valka from the college ranks in 2068 to revitalize the Blackhawks and he has done just that... Valka reached the IPA Pro Cup Finals this season, but lost to the South Fork Stallions... he never played in the IPA, however Kazak won multiple collegiate titles in a legendary career at Valerian Military Academy in Valka. Don Ritchie came in second in the best-manager balloting... he has been in charge of the Valmara Vipers since 2057... during his managerial tenure the Vipers have won the RU North crown 10 times, but no Pro Cups... Ritchie was acclaimed the RU Manager of the Year on 2 occasions in 2057 and 2061... this season his Vipers improved from 97-57 to 98-56 and captured the RU North by 8 games... Ritchie was a star center fielder in his playing days for Valmara from 2041 to 2056... he was a 3-time All-Star with a lifetime .289 BA... the Vipers won the IPA Pro Cup 3 times when he was a player. Tubby Tarkanian is in his 19th year at the helm of the Volusia Vigilantes... he spent 16 years with them as a player... Tarkanian was a good defensive catcher and a modest .262 hitter... he has won the RU West 6 times and was the RU Manager of the Year in 2058 and 2070... the V's have not won a Pro Cup since 2001, but they made the Pro Cup Finals twice under Tarkanian in 2061 and 2062... in 2072 Volusia came in 3rd with a 78-76 record, 17 games behind in the pennant race... Tarkanian led them to the division flag this year with an 89-65 mark, 7 games better the Colfax Black Sox. Tycobbian Union It was an equally tough decision in the Tycobbian Union... the 2073 TU Manager of the Year was Marty Blake of the White River Rascals... last year the Rascals wound up in second place in the TU North with an 85-69 record and 9 games behind the division winner Hartsdale... lo and behold White River was 106-48 in 2073 and nabbed the pennant by a whopping 23 games over second place Mahaska... still Blake had a lot of competition from South Fork's Jay Murphy and Turon's Nate Scottsdale... they both made strong cases, too... Blake was one of the most prolific hitters in IPA history in his 23 years in the league, playing for four clubs from 2013 to 2035... Blake spent his first 18 seasons with White River... He was a 3-time Golden Glove first sacker and 7-time All-Star... Blake was voted into the Islandian Pro Alliance Hall of Fame in 2036... He ranks 6th on the all-time home-run list, 6th in hits, 4th in RBIs, 10th in scoring runs and 14th in walks... Blake took over as skipper in 2066 and quickly made an impact with 4 pennants in his 7 seasons... this is Blake's second TU Manager of the Year trophy... he also won it in 2070... Blake is 79 years young. South Fork had a marvelous season under Jay Murphy, a former star pitcher for the Stallions... Murphy has piloted the club since 2058 and won 4 TU East titles in that span of time... he has made the Stallions a regular pennant contender... this year Murphy guided South Fork to its 3rd Pro Cup Trophy... this year the Stallions improved from 3rd place and an 83-71 record to the pennant with a 97-57 season... Murphy was the ace of the 2042 Pro Cup title team... he was the Tycobbian Golden Arm winner in 2042 (25-7) and 2044 (28-7)... also captured the Tycobbian MVP in '44... overall his lifetime statistics in his 16 seasons is 250-185 with a fine 3.24 ERA. Another deserving manager of the year is Nate Scottsdale of the Turon Typhoons, who came in third this season in the Tycobbian top manager voting... this year he lifted up his club from 91-63 to 96-58 and nabbed his 4th TU South crown in a row... the only thing that might have kept his Typhoons from winning back-to-back Pro Cups was the South Fork Stallions in round one of this year's playoffs... South Fork edged Turon three games to two... Nate Scottsdale assumed the managerial reins after a standout career on the mound and immediately turned the team around in his first season 2068... Stocksdale played his entire career in Turon from 2037 to 2056... 8 times in his career he won 20 or more games... he did it 5 times in his final 6 seasons when he was in his late 30s... lifetime he was 362-277 with a 3.44 ERA... Stocksdale made the Hall of Fame in 2057. Attachment 852520 |
That wraps up the 2073 Islandian Pro Alliance season... it was good one.
Looking forward to 2074. May rest a few days and then revamp the team rosters. |
South Fork got really hot in the playoffs. Could this be the start of a big run by the Stallions? Let's see what happens next season. :eatpop:

With no MLB right now covid everywhere... things must really be boring... you folks must be mighty hard up for entertainment.
Yesterday you folks set records for the Islandian Pro Alliance and the South Island League. The IPA record for viewers in one day was 562. Yesterday, lordy mercy, there were 767 peeks. The South Island League record for viewers in one day was 233. Yesterday there were 313 peeks at the South Island League. My Oh My! How About That! Special thanks to all of you. |
A dozen brand-new prospective Southport Sun Sox items made by me are now present in my thread. More will come soon, I think, if at least one new logo can be made for them, EC. Just so you know. CD out.

While I update and clean out each team's roster and reserve rosters in preparation for the 2074 season... and also create enough quality free agents that have good ratings so the rookie class will make some impact on teams, I thought I would post a new series in this thread... I plan to cover each Pro Cup Series, beginning with the first one in 2001..

Yesterday in the IPA
The Islandian Times Tuesday, October 9, 2001 Volusia Sweeps Pro Cup Series from Ginza It's over and how sweep it is! The Volusia Vigilantes defeated the Ginza Ninjas for the fourth straight time to capture the Islandian Pro Cup Series in a sweep. The V's ace, Raul Sandoval (4-1 1.50), took the hill and brought home the trophy. Sandoval worked eight innings in the 4-2 triumph, permitted 11 hits, but only two runs. He stranded 11 Ninjas on the bases. After Sandoval gave up two back-to-back singles to start the ninth, manager Alfonso Feliz made the easy call - he summoned his splendid closer in from the bullpen for the 57th time this season and Ricky Moreno did it again. Moreno (2-0 0.00) sealed the game and the championship. He got the first out on a liner to short, then wrapped up the title with a double play ball. Moreno did not give up a run in 13 innings and seven playoff relief appearances. It was his fifth save in the playoffs, giving him a total of 31 for the season. As they did in game three, the Ninjas drew first blood when right fielder Takashi Fujimoto (.262) hit a solo homer in the first inning. But it was short-lived - the Vigilantes took the lead right back with three runs in the bottom of the inning and never relinquished it. Shortstop Scooter Perez (.371) and left fielder Winky Rush (.310) led off the inning with singles. First baseman Alejandro Salazar (.308) then doubled Perez home to tie it, second baseman Francisco Abreu (.364) drove in Rush on a grounder to first and right fielder Jesus Arroyo (.315) singled in Salazar for a 3-1 lead. In the fourth Ginza cut it to 3-2 when first baseman Kenshin Yamamoto (.262) doubled with one out, went to third on a single by center fielder Nick Winters (.300) and came home when shortstop Scooter Perez booted a grounder. Volusia tallied its final run in the fifth when Arroyo was hit by pitch with the bases loaded. Ninja starter Toshiharu Ito (1-3 1.57) did not fare well and sustained the loss. He gave up four runs and seven hits in six innings. The V's ignited a huge celebration as they beat Ginza 4-2 to win the Islandian Pro Cup Series. Volusia won the series 4-0, capturing the first-ever Islandian Pro Cup. "We stepped it up at the right time...now we're the champs...it's a great feeling," the victorious manager Alfonso Feliz exclaimed to the press. The champs finished the regular season 78-72 and claimed second place in the Ruthlandian Union North, 5 games in back of the Far Mountain Redhawks (83-67). In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, the Vigilantes general manager Juan-Carlos De la Hoya proudly stated, "I am so happy for our city. Our great fans deserve this. I just hope they don't tear up the town celebrating too much." Volusia won 12 of 15 playoff games, defeating Marston 4-2 in the Elite 8, Far Mountain 4-1 in the Final 4 and sweeping Ginza 4-0. Ginza finished up with an 8-9 playoff record, whipping Fairfax 4-3 in the first round and South Fork 4-2 in round two. The Ninjas were 81-69 in the regular season, 5 games behind the Tycobbian East Division winner, the South Fork Stallions (86-64). The V's snagged all 4 games with very fine pitching: 3-2 (10 innings), 4-2, 8-2 and 4-2 |

V's Abreu MVP in Playoffs The Volusia Vigilantes had a whole host of heroes in their playoff run to the Islandian Pro Cup crown. The V's swept the Ginza Ninjas of the Tycobbian Union East in four games and were sparked by second baseman Francisco Abreu, who was selected the Islandian Pro Cup Series Most Valuable Player in a vote by BNN. The 26-year-old Abreu received 25 votes in the poll of the baseball journalists and broadcasters. It was a close vote with six players in the running. Pitchers Raul Sandoval and Tommy Betanzos had 23 and 22 votes respectively, reliever Ricky Moreno 19 votes, first baseman Alejandro Salazar 18 votes and shortstop Scooter Perez accumulated 17 votes. Abreu hit .364 with three home runs and three doubles, driving in 13 runs and scoring 11 times in 15 playoff games. Sandoval compiled an outstanding 4-1 record with a sensational 1.50 ERA and three complete games in six starts. Betanzos equaled Sandoval with a 4-1 won-lost mark and an impressive 2.21 ERA in five starts. Closer Moreno (2-0/0.00 ERA) was brilliant, winning two games and saving 5. Moreno appeared in 7 games and did not give up a run in 13 innings. Salazar batted .308, hit five doubles and four homers with 10 RBIs and scored 9 times. Perez collected a .371 average, five doubles, two triples, four RBIs and scored 12 runs. Volusia manager Alfonso Felix told reporters, "They all deserved the award.
