The Transylvania Impalers used a 3-game sweep of Otonokizaka and a limited OL schedule to take the I169 title. Vlora had managed to overtake Cuidad with a late push of their own, but the Impalers gained the upper hand in the all-important percentage race.
Transylvania's late charge was part of an incredible 22-3 September. They will be the lone OL representative in the postseason. Meanwhile, with the sounds of ELO playing in the background, the Dragones and Iron Maiden will be relegated to Stone. |

Only Diamond?
I believe all we are missing are results from diamond. I don't think there was a stone OL race. Unfortunately, my OOTP 21 is again giving me the message that it can't connect to online services, so I can't check on anything.
Also, suggestions on a theme for the wrap up are welcome. Ah well, guess I'll check the bug reports forum and hope. |

huzzah! Went to bed last night with 5 games remaining, so wasn't sure how things were going to shake out (figured my bunch would choke in the last three games against the worst team in the league, but they apparently proved me wrong)... here's hoping the down servers mean the playoffs don't start running before I can log in to set my post season staff.... |

Log in to set post season staff? What's that? By the way, congrats on last night's haul. |
Quote:
heh, and my 'set post season staff' consists all of changing to a 4-man rotation, so the 5th starter can get some use in the bullpen (otherwise he's a wasted spot that never gets used in the post season, cause it never reaches the 5th starter in a 'start highest rested' setting) |
To be honest, I have my rotation set to strict 5-man, and I just leave it. The lack of responsiveness of the AI to directions (actually suggestions, it seems), got too frustrating, so I just let the team go. Fifteen years of play by mail strat, where the opposing managers followed written directions, spoiled me and the sliders seem too gimmicky, and don't work well. So I just ignore the games, unless they're against OL teams, although, even then, I don't bother messing with things.

Silver playoff update:
K-Town goes to extras to win the wild card in 11 innings, setting up a possible all OL ALCS looks like Terra Incognita, Waffletown and K-Town will all advance to Gold tier next season. |
Quote:
So...either a choke, or a great comeback by Terra Incognita, depending on your perspective. (However, the offseason will be spent learning the baseball equivalent of the Heimlich maneuver in Ring Road.) |
Hmm...
I guess "Arrghh!" has more than one meaning in pirate talk, matey. ;)

Is anybody there?
Hoping someone will step up and provide standings for diamond, the last crown left to award. Even screenshots of the team vs. team for OL teams would work. Thanks.

Hooterville Falls Flat; No Retooling Planned For 2042 Offseason
Hooterville's big acquisition of Willie Mays was not enough to save the sinking Haymaker's season.
Mays started off red-hot batting a .446 AVG after his first two games and then the wheels quickly fell off the playoff wagon and a big cold spell fell upon him and most of the team. All hope of a strong playoff run disappeared and Hooterville finished with a dismal 77-85 record, in forth place in their division. When asked about any big plans for the Haymakers, during the off season, Vice President of Team Operations, Eustace Haney said that Hooterville had no such plans and was planning on going with whoever, they already currently have. -30- |
Death Valley Only OL Team Left
Asylum's Sid Fernandez blew a two-run lead in the 9th and the Keepers went on to lose game seven at home in extra frames. The Norwood Diamonders, gold crown winners, are facing off in a seventh game showdown. Update: Norwood lost.
There are no OL teams left in the post season in PT in iron, bronze, or silver, gold, or diamond. In R229, the Death Valley Devils hold a 2-1 lead in the world series, so there is hope they can earn a PT badge in their inaugural season. Good luck. |
Won Rookie League

I won my rookie league!
It wasn't too difficult; my guess is that most of the league was zombie/abandoned teams. Hopefully, there will be an -OL team with me in Stone next week. |

The Wrap Up (tentative)
1 Attachment(s)
Not sure if we're going to get anything from diamond. I fear we may actually lose standings for the first time in the three-year run of OL. By the way, I picked out the picture before I began to think we'd not get diamond, but the fellows' expressions seem appropriate to the unfortunate situation.
Make sure your friends list is up to date and submitted. |

Bronze setup

Four teams paired off into two divisions in the NC and one team in each of the NC Central and West. Hopefully they will get some inter league play.
Stanley-I only have six teams to track, I can do go Gold as well if you'd like a break. You carry a heavy load for all of us. Just let me know and I will jump in this week and do two-entirely up to you. |
Looks like SIlver turned out a bit wonky with Hartford/Ring Road in Silver 300; and Bevo Mill/Shangri-La in Silver 254.... check those friends lists and make sure everyone in and around your tier is included.
Everyone else seems to be in the same league for the other tiers. |

I've already made up the spreadsheet in Google sheets, so I don't mind. However, I do have diamond for a week while my teams gets bludgeoned back to gold, so, if you're willing to do two, have at it. I will keep my sheet as a back up in case you get busy at work. Thanks. |

I've added a new team that was just promoted to Rookie League from the Entry Pool.

Five of the six teams in Bronze will vie for the OL crown this week. Blitzkrieg only has six games vs Transylvania as their inter league games are in the only division that doesn't feature an OL team. Transylvania picked up seven inter league games for a total of thirteen. Hooterville leads the way with 35, Norwood with 32 and Cochise County and Jefferson Valley at 31 each.

I'm still on 20, so not a part of the party till next sale, at which point I guess lots will be moving to 22 so maybe not even then but I'm curious:
Do you find being FTP and no live cards makes it easier to have a variety of players among the OL teams? One thing I kinda dislike is it seems like as you go above silver, rosters tends to look alike. |
Quote:
You can do any missions you like. The only requirements are that the team must be and have always been free to play, and you may not have any live players or future legends on you active roster. Welcome aboard. I'd appreciate if you'd post your team's logo. |

This is Our League, not BFF. Check out the beginning of this thread. If your team fits the criteria and you'd like to join us, please come aboard. There is a discord channel, but I don't know how active it is. It is called Our OOTPXX League. |
Quote:
I'd say that, in general, we have more variety, particularly because some Our Leaguers have theme teams. Others, like myself, have more than one team, but don't allow any repeat players on the roster. I also focus more on OL success than PT wins in general, so I am more apt to have players whom I liked back in the day (I'm old), or read about as a kid. That is very much a minority opinion (maybe of one). In short, I think there's less of a cookie cutter approach. |

Hooterville jumps to the top after one day of play including a 26-4 drubbing of my Jefferson Valley team. Four Rebel out field player took the mound and gave up 13 runs on 6 hits and 15 walks (Frankie Frisch walked 6 in .1 innings). The AI did a nice job saving my bullpen for the next game but Willie Mays may have done better. With a 5-4 lead the Rebels closer Mark Wohlers gives up 5 runs capped by a walk off grand slam by Jimmie Foxx. Tip your cap to me when you spend the PP from this one.

There are two OL teams in Stone 220; the Ciudad Trujillo Dragones and the Death Valley Devils. We're both off to a good start, but in second place in our divisions (maybe we'll meet for the WC?). Unfortunately, we only have 6 games against one another this season.
