So, yes, the quoted post was SILVER. And not Vlora, but Ring Road. Hartford is correct. And the scores and number of games, too. Yikes. |

Otonokizaka leaps to the lead in I171 play. The Muse took 6 of 7 from Vlora to jump in front. The two teams meet 11 more times this season.
While Asheboro will end up with the requisite 10-game-minimum OL schedule, Sierra Vista will not. The good news for the Scorpions is they have opened the season strong, leading their non-OL division. |

I probably should just suck it up and get 21 now so I can play with the cool kids, but we'll see. ;) |

the super old timey roster is a little more doable in v21 (more 19th century cards available).... basically what I've been doing with my Waffletown team.... 16 of the 26 roster spots are currently 19th century players (with an average year for the 26 man roster at 1900). |

Hooterville doesn't let its foot off the gas going 4-1 yesterday to increase their lead in the OL standings.
In PT play: along with the Haymakers, Jefferson Valley and Norwood are locked into early pennant races in the NC. Over in the AC Blitzkrieg, who stumbled a bit in May is still in position to challenge for the Division and WC. |

Highland kept it's foot on the accelerator, and leads by a comfortable margin. There are still a couple of teams that have had a less than busy OL schedule. I checked the schedules and I believe the lowest amount was 18, with that being the only slate under 20, so we may have a fairly wide race once all are engaged.

You're right, Iron Maiden is with us in Stone .220. The name is long, and I didn't see the -OL at the end in the standings. Unfortunately, they're in the NC this week. The Devils and the Dragones played the first of our two 3-game sets today. We split the first two games, both with ninth inning heroics. In the first match, the Dragones' Edgar Martinez tied the score 3-3 in the top of the ninth with a single off John Smoltz, and F. Matilla won it on a solo shot in the top of the 13th. The Devils got even in game two, with a two-out, walk-off single by Jason Kendall. The Devils took the series, cruising in the rubber game, scoring five in the first two innings off of Kelvim Escobar on the way to a 6-0 win. |

The Haymakers look like they wont be denied in Bronze this week. I can't imagine the only need a couple of wins in their remaining schedule to clinch the crown. Jefferson Valley looked like they had a chance to make a run but were swept by Norwood and dropped 2 of 3 to Hooterville yesterday.
In PT play both Blitzkrieg and Jefferson Valley took a step backwards in their respective pennant races. While Hooterville and Norwood continued to thrive. I woke up this morning to the news of the passing of Tom Seaver. As young boy living in NY during his era we all wanted to be #41. Stickball, wiffleball, little league it didnt matter-you always wanted to be Tom Seaver when you pitched (although I was never quite able to get my knee dirty on my delivery like he did). I would say along with Rod Gilbert of the New York Rangers, my first sports idols. RIP Tom Terrific. |
Raccoons Remain on Top in OL D351

Highland continued to hold forth in the crown chase, with Cary marking them carefully. The Raccoons enjoy a substantial, but certainly not insurmountable lead. If you want a touching remembrance of Tom Seaver, search for Ozzie Guillen on youtube. I got interested in MLB for the first time in 1962, with the birth of the Mets. I was only nine, and did not know the raw deal the Mets got in the draft. I died 120 times that season. I remember what a revelation Seaver was in 1967. One of the best.

Ft. Huachuca has soldiered to the front in OL I169 play. Otonokizaka trails the Buffalo Soldiers, despite dominating Vlora with a 11-3 head-to-head advantage so far. Ten OL games are on the schedule for Ft. Huachuca this month.
In non-OL play, Daytona Beach currently sits in relegation. |

I would suggest that since you currently don't have OOTP21, you should hold off until their next sale, which I would expect will be when the MLB playoffs start or when the World Series starts. If you enjoy collecting the "older cards" in PT20, you'll be in heaven in PT21 as there is a ton of them and a ton of missions, too! |
Who's worth 100kPP?
Ring Road management has been stalking the AH, looking for the next big upgrade. It's been rough sailing in Silver for the Rams, who are in the cellar of the AC West Division, despite being one game over .500.
Early in the 2042 season, the Rams acquired Eddie Cicotte through a challenge-pack draw. Later in the season, the Rams' front office realized Mr. Cicotte was quite popular in the AH. Despite his potential worth on the open market, Eddie was inserted into the Ring Road lineup, where he performed at an average level. Determined to upgrade the Rams auctioned off Cicotte, fetching an after-tax profit of 85,500PP. Ring Road now wonders..."Who should we get?" |
Hi -
Just found out about OL recently. Seems very fun because it’s exactly the way I like to play - F2P and no live cards. Have two clubs, one currently in gold and one likely to be promoted to Iron next year that would qualify. The clubs are even presently called “No Money Spent.” Would be interested in adding my two teams to the mix if possible. Thanks. |

Hooterville is having a fantastic season in both OL and PT. In OL they have a magic number of one with nine games remaining. Norwood, also with nine games remaining would have to win them all while the Haymakers drop all nine to win the title. Both teams have three games today, first up Norwood travels to Jefferson Valley and Hooterville boards a flight for Cochise County. More than possible that the champagne will be flowing in the Haymakers Clubhouse late this afternoon.
In PT play: In the NC- Hooterville (+13.5) and Norwood (+6.5) lead their divisions. Jefferson Valley who seemed in contention earlier in the week got off to a 3-10 start yesterday but rebounded to get their overall record back to .500. The Rebels trail in the WC by 4.5 games. Cochise County is the opposite of the Rebels, they got off to a rough start but have been playing well since June 1st and have themselves 5.5 back in the WC. In the AC Blitzkrieg is 4th in a 4 team race for the second WC spot. |

Welcome. Just post your user and team names. Then check out the spreadsheet and "friend" all the teams at your level, and at least one above and below. I would suggest you keep going until you hit the limit of 30. Make sure to add the -OL and the + to your team name and abbreviation, respectively. And don't forget to submit your changes. I would also ask that you post your teams' logos future crowing purposes. The link to the spreadsheet is on the first page of the thread. |

Highland stumbled a bit and that allowed the Southpaws to grab the top spot. A quick glance at the table shows how compact the standings are, however, with all seven teams having a legitimate shot with a hot run down the stretch.

Bronze Update- Hooterville takes the crown
With a sweep of Cochise County Hooterville has clinched the OL Crown. Norwood is red hot in PT play (17-3 in August and 25-8 since July 1) but there just aren't enough OL games left to allow them to make a run. Congrats the Haymakers organization.

Stone Update
The Dragones took two out of three from the Devils, so we end our season series tied 3-3. The Dragones and Iron Maiden end the season with a three game set, and that will be it for this season.

Hooterville are the Bronze Crown winners this week.
In PT play Jefferson Valley bounced back a bit yesterday and is once again over .500 and tied for the second WC. The Rebels will have to put their foot on the gas in September if they want to make the playoffs. There is a seven team race for the two wildcard births. Hooterville and Norwood are destined to win their divisions. |

Rangers Rev Up to Take OL D351 Lead

Kansas had a strong month and grabbed the top spot, but the race promises to be wide and could go down to the end as the top four teams will face each other in season ending series. The Rangers host Cary for a three game set that will wrap up the seven games the two will play in the final weeks, while Highland closes its home season against Asylum for three. Every OL team will play at least six games, with the Southpaws slated for 14 league tilts. It seems it could be a barn burner.

Congratulations to Otonokizaka on a OL-I171 championship! The Muse overtook Ft. Huachuca to capture the title. The Muse and Buffalo Soldiers split their six head-to-head games. Though Vlora could be renamed either Otonokizaka West or Ft. Huachuca East, since both teams owned the White Stallions during the regular season, the Muse benefitted by playing more against Vlora, amassing a 15-4 record against the paltry ponies.
Currently, the Muse and Buffalo Soldiers are set to meet in the AC Wild card series. Sierra Vista will also make the playoffs, and all three teams should be promoted, while Daytona Beach looks to be the only team to be relegated. |
Fun fact: All of Otonokizaka's crowns have come in Iron (someone can clarify this, but I think it's true)
Just as notably...I logged into PT 20 to see if they ever won a title as the Nico-Nico Kneecappers. They did. Last season, they grabbed a diamond title to FINALLY put a trophy in their once empty and extremely dusty cabinet. :D |
Bronze Final

Hooterville can officially be crowned. The Haymakers left everyone in the dust this week and was the only team with 10 or more games to finish above .500.
In PT play only Hooterville and Norwood qualified for the playoffs as division winners. The Haymakers will take on the winner of the WC game-either Texas of Peterborough. Hooterville had an identical 4-3 record vs each team in the regular season. Norwood will take on Danville and own home field in the best of five. Norwood only managed to win two of six vs. Danville in the regular season. Jefferson Valley had the WC seemingly wrapped up but lost 6 of its last seven including a 163rd game vs Peterborough to finish one game out. Nobody will be relegated and promotion will be decided by playoff results. |

Think I can beat your team's '64 Phillies impression with Port Ruppert's performance in gold. Didn't pay much attention to them this week with no standings to do, but in checking them this morning, they lost 10 in a row to fall into a tie, won their last game to gain a playoff, then lost the playoff. At least it was Krikkit that caught and past them. |

Overall even with the stumble down the stretch I am happy with the Rebels season. On the hand Coney Island will be relegated from Gold to Silver which is a bitter pill to swallow. Both teams are sitting at just over 100K PP but there is no quick fix that those points are going to solve.
On the other hand I am enjoying my non-OL team the most. Its my team composed of players who played for the Mets and Yankees between 69-79 (the cards are of course based on what's available). They are currently competitive in Silver and a borderline playoff team. If they had a better bullpen they could probably get over the hump and get to Gold. I keep hoping a diamond Gossage comes out. The gold Art Shamsky card is something else at the plate. |

Gold league final standings:
Weston Pointe stepped up to the task in the stretch run and emerged as the OL Gold champs in a tight race. Overall, Brigadoon nabbed the top seed in the NC with an impressive 100-62 season. And in a case of poor timing for a losing streak, Port Ruppert dropped 10 straight games in the final two weeks (including 5 losses to Krikkit), and ended up in a tie for the NC West division lead with Krikkit (who won 6 straight to help their own cause). In the tie-breaker, Krikkit won their 7th straight and sniped the division title. With 4 promotion spots, the possibility of 2 OL promotions to Diamond is on the table if both Brigadoon and Krikkit can win their series. Relegations to Silver: Coney Island, Ewa Beach, Annandale, K-Town, Terra Incognita (rough season for OL). |
I have checked my friends list. I am going to be offline most of the rest of the day. I will take Bronze next week. After review, Hooterville will be promoted regardless of whether they win their series as they will be in the top six. Norwood will have to win its playoff series to gain promotion. The rest of the teams from this week will remain and be joined by Sierra Vista and the winner of the Otonokizaka-Ft. Huachuca wildcard game.
Good luck to all in the playoffs. |
