Just a congrats to the Kelowna Canucks and their manager @JeffR who finished 81-82 in G.346 (2045), but took the top seeded (130-32) Mount Royal Housecats to 5 in the Division Series...and beat them. No fun for the Housecats, I'm sure, but it just goes to show that the Playoffs are a different beast from the regular season.

Their third appearance at the Gold Level saw the Trojans finish the regular season with an improved record over their past two seasons: 92-70. This record thankfully was enough to get them into the postseason as the second Wild Card team. Wild Card game - divisional rival, victory. Division series - divisional rival, victory. Sub-League series - a team that has dominated us during our last three years, comeback from a 3-0 deficit, victory. Alas, all good runs come to an end as the Trojans were defeated in the Finals 4-1... but this means that the Trojans will be making their first appearance at the Diamond Level come tomorrow morning!
Greg Maddux and Tommy John look to be a decent 1-2 tandem at the top of my rotation, but it's weak after them. Richie Ashburn and Hughie Jennings once again led my team via both their offensive and defensive output. -- A 120-42 season for the Haymakers at the Bronze Level saw them once again finish with the best record across the league. Another title was clinched in the Finals, with Fernando Valenzuela pitching a 1-hit, 12-strikeout shutout against a 110 win squad. On to Silver! To show that the voters don't care about "modern" statistics, Billy Williams was awarded the MVP award after finishing a mere 5th on my team in WAR. -- The Rack O' Ribs are F2P and packs only, so not expecting great things - but they did finish the Rookie League at 108-54 and win the title, so accolades all around! |

Running wild when Piazza is catching for the other team

By the way, my last week could be titled as every week: Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. Made the Playoffs once again and lost in the semi-finals. I don't think I'll ever get a title. Now I'm one league up and I assume I have no chance... |

How about "Perfect Team Daily" or "Perfect Team Daily News"? |

I now changed it to "+++ Perfect Team Daily +++" and I hope it shows up that way. Maybe only mods can change the title?
If someone is unhappy with the title or has other suggestions, please speak up. |

From 5th to 10th Best

Perfect Team Daily is too ambiguous and ignorable.
Start a new thread: ********Post Team News Here**********, or just keep posting more often to keep it at the top. Halfway through the season I was surprised to see my team had the 5th best ERA in the conference. It only took 1 game to return to reality. |
Toppers are coming

Incredibly, the Magpies of the best record in D365 bar none. A 10 game lead over Moosejaw is also extraordinary. This team has averaged 99 wins in Diamond League, but has never won it . They've also completed 357 missions which means in about another hour, they'll be getting some super good players to close the gap, which due to my foolish play earlier in the year, I won't be able to counter.

I have to work on explanations. Or maybe what some would refer to as 'selling it'. I talked it over with a friend & maybe not in this post but if I ever get around to it I now know that everything needs to be explained that isn't rather clear already. Hmm... Well, the Natural Players climbed back from a horrid start to 1st place. They are in a bronze league and aren't doing very well statistically but 53-49 is good enough for the division lead at this point. |

No big news in my league but looking at the standings, I just now realized, my division has a theme going. Except for the "Prospects" we have a nature theme going.:laugh::laugh:

Dateline: Collingwood, August 4, 2046 As expected, the Moosejaw Mounties beefed up their roster with a bunch of Face of the Franchise cards. Cards like Rogers Hornsby, Ty Cobb, Stan Musial, Ted Williams, Bob Feller, Walter Johnson, Pedro Martinez, and Trevor Hoffman. I did make a move to counter this: Barry Larkin was added to be SS platoon with Pop Lloyd. SE Robinson Cano was on the roster doing a lot of nothing (backing up 1st base against RHP), so this move completes my lineup. Barry got his first AB in the bottom of the 9th with the bases loaded and the resulting blast increased the Magpies lead in the division to 11 games. |

Yeah, I just edited my post since I did find obvious tanking occurring in some ingenious ways. Such as making look like the starting lineup is legit but then must be using player strategy rules to override it bring a pitcher in to DH and having other players rotate and play catcher. The guy must have been away from his PC and team this week and probably hasn't logged on because I don't think he would have thought the results would be this obvious. There isn't really any history of him tanking before that I can see from his record. It actually looks like he must have dropped some cash on this team about a couple months ago too because they got really good overnight. I don't even know why he would tank with a competitive Diamond team. It's not like you're going to earn that many points in Gold from achievements. |
New York Flyers
33 games left and a 1 game lead in the division, we're counting on Al Leiter to win a few games down the stretch in place of Curt Schilling. Because I'm a Mets fan. And I hope Leiter wins all of them. If he doesn't, I'll think of something else.

With a weekend sale and the final FOTF players revealed, the Seawolves went shopping and obtained FOTF Griffey, Brett and Mauer with Charleston and Pedro 1999 in the bullpen. You'd think this would help secure a division as we were tied for 1st while making the upgrades. Only to find my division rival added FOTF Hornsby, Musial, Feller and Walter Johnson to an already potent team. :(
I guess it's a fight to hold a wild card spot for the Seawolves? |
Natural Players
RS: 596
RA: 615 On offense we're 17th in runs, 12 in batting average and 24th in homers. On defense we're 17th in ERA, 26th in Team Ks & 19th in def. efficency. But right now we have a 74-59 record and looking to clinch a playoff spot, & maybe win when we get in as well. |
