1 IS the loneliest number
Vlora White Stallions will be spending another season adrift in Stone. Their failure to complete missions, combined with a lack of point generation has conspired to leave them mired in Stone alone. (Rhyming unintentional)

Breaking News!
Quote:
The news of the day in the sports world, which has been confirmed by multiple sources, is that a secret private investor group named "Long Live the Stephensville Bears" is quickly trying to raise several millions of dollars and are planning on presenting and petitioning "Our League" top officials into forcing the current ownership of the Vlora White Stallions, into selling the team, so the new group can buy and relocate them back to Stephensville, where they have a very strong fan base, and a very rich history. Once word got out of this news, thousands of loyal Bear fans began flooding Stephensville's main thoroughfare, chanting "Go Bears Go!" & "Bring Back Our Bears!" At the local Stephensville "watering hole" named "The Honey Bears", hopeful fans were going so far as to sign up for season tickets. Many of these fans have also already donated money to the "Bring Our Bears Back!" "Fund Me" drive, which appeared to be gaining momentum, at the time of the publication of this article. Back in the day, the Stephensville Bears were a very popular and exciting team to watch. The local fan base well supported their local team and the team was a huge draw, providing well received revenue, to the local community. It was not uncommon for Bear Home games to be sold out, as the tickets became "hotter than a firecracker on fourth of July", when another rival OL team came in town. One of the most popular traditions at Home Bear games was whenever a visiting team's pitcher was relieved after a rough outing, the fans would chant and jeer "Feed Him To The Bears!" It wasn't long before local bear activists started protesting that local bears were highly offended by these actions. Yogi, the senior bear from Jellystone Park was quoted as saying that "a Bear is a Bear", and then proceeded in asking if there were any unattended picnic baskets around. An official who is close to the internal deliberations and spoke on condition of anonymity, because they are not authorized to publicly speak, stated that if the team relocated back to Stephensville, one of the conditions would more than likely be for them to ban the "Feed Him To The Bears!" chant. Stay tuned for more breaking sports news! -30- |

I think they have a three-game series at Asylum, in April, and that's it for the season. :crying: Asylum management is hoping to salve the wound of the PT seeding by offering up a years supply of Keeper Cakes for the Warriors. In addition, the Cafe du Fou will be open only for the exclusive dining use of Coney Island during their visit. |
Sorry for not posting in a while. Whalers still mired in Iron as I continue the collection missions. Managed to sell off a SE card I already had plus Tony Oliva to get most of the AL Central (only one I have started so far) to include the dreaded White Sox. Only have Indians to go. Getting off to a good start so far. Will be a few months til I finish the MLB LIVE mission but enjoying the ride.

Yaaay! Finally, we will have an OL championship in Diamond, since all five teams made it into the same league this time.

D356 Update
1 Attachment(s)
Hey, I can do Diamond this week! :D
The OL opened up D356 with a full slate of OL games as teams took turns beating each other up. Shinbone started strong out of the gate but won't see more OL action until after the All-Star break (note: Shinbone only plays 3 more OL games so unfortunately they are not eligible for the crown). |
Terra Incognita, Hooterville Quick out of Gate in OL S286

The Rustlers and Haymakers were the early leaders, but there should be plenty of OL action and fierce competition, as a quick perusal of the schedule showed a decent slate for the league. Still can't access the game on my PC. It's gotta suck for those who don't have their second license on another machine.
Lackluster showing for OL teams so far in PT, with OL teams taking up four of the six relegation spots, and only Hooterville, at 14-11, at .500 or better. |

After a couple weeks in the wild with Live Trout, I think the Bombers will be returning. I mentioned it earlier that they would likely return, but I wanted to give one of my favorite players to watch, a chance at the action. He did fairly well, up until Diamond, but that low avoid K really hurts. It's unfortunate to see one of the greatest players of all time, and the greatest of his generation, struggle in OOTP, but it's how it goes. I'm in the process of getting a replacement in, and swapping him out. It should be done by next week, but in the event that it isn't, I'll let you know.
FYI, this team did have a nice pull from a tourney pack of 100 Clemens ~15 days ago who I liquidated for 180k yesterday. He had over a 4.5 ERA across 1.75 seasons in Diamond. Absolutely insane. Not worth the 180k from a production standpoint so I thought it'd be better off investing it in the team. |
Nice to see you back...
For my teams' sake, just hope it's not before they're ready.;)

Port Ruppert Grabs Lead in OL S286
1 Attachment(s)
The Mundys had a busy and productive month to take over the top spot in OL. Although Waffletown has been on the sidelines, I double checked their schedule and they have more than a dozen OL games left to play.
In PT, Port Ruppert has slipped into a wild card spot, with Transylvania and a couple of others weighing in. However, the three bottom relegation spots belong to OL teams as well. |
