man...reading this....bringing back memories.
Steve Busby was one of my favorites, no-hitters in consecutive years....it looked like he could be an all-time great....then injury ruined his career... In fact...Fran Healy has stated more than once...Busby was the best pitcher he ever caught. Fun stuff here! |
That is exactly why I am doing it, I appreciate your feedback
Hope to keep you interested for some time |

milestone update
Joe Torre (BALT) picked up #2000
Al Kaline (PITT) got hit #3000 Dave McNally (BALT) picks up his 200th win, will he win 20 for the 7th year in a row? It looks like he will with 3 more to go Fergie Jenkins (TEX) throws a no hitter against Cleveland The Royals are awful. Brett, Bench and Cowens continue to hit the ball fairly well, but the pitching is brutal. Dennis Leonard seems to be on a roll, while all other starters toil. Steve Busby has been very hittable as his ERA nears 5. The bullpen has been pretty solid, however, they are rarely given leads to protect. With the rotation now being in a full fledged "youth" movement, the team is clearly looking to next year. Busby, Gura, Splittorff, Fitzmorris and Leonard along with Mike Torrez need to determine who wants to step up and help lead this team into the 2nd half of the decade. Leonard appears to be the frontrunner. |

man....that team has a serious power shortage
|
That is for certain, but, until FA kicks in I am not sure what else to do. I do not really have a strength from which to attempt to trade. The White Sox actually have 25 fewer HR than we do. I wonder if '74 was a particularly bad year for HR, that perhaps brought on a juiced ball.
Not that MLB has ever done that. |

HELP on NL MVP vote

I would choose Ryan because Morgan, Stargell, and Johnson didn't have any seasons that were SUPER special. Ryan was most valuable because he won 25 games.
|
I'll vote Cliff Johnson...that's a "Johnny Bench" season....great production from a catcher. Ryan can win the Cy Young...
