September 12th, 1990

After yesterday's nice win we have the Braves again.

Atlanta is pitching Brian Holton (9-6, 3.08).

The Giants have Bruce Ruffin (9-9, 3.57).

I have not done well against Holton. 0 for 5.

I am hitting sixth.

We scored in the 1st when Robby Thompson crossed on a Dale Murphy single.

Giants lead 1-0

I led off in the 2nd by working a walk.
With one out, stolen base #122.
Then #123.
I scored on an Alan Cockrell groundout.

Giants lead 2-0

In the 3rd, Harold Baines smacked a three-run homer!
I came up with none out - now facing John Dodd. I grounded out to Jim Thome at short.

Giants lead 5-0

In the 4th the train kept going as Ryan Klesko hit a two-run dinger.
I came up with two out and two on but lined out.

Giants lead 7-0

The Braves finally got on the board in the 7th when Ken Griffey Jr, crossed on a Ron Gant double.
I handled a Gary Sheffield grounder for the 1st out.

Giants lead 7-1

I led off the bottom of the 7th, now facing Jack Hardy. I walked again.
Stolen base #124 and an extra base when Tony Pen threw it away.
With two out, Bruce walked.
I scored on a wild pitch by Norm Charlton.

Giants lead 8-1

With one out and one on in the 8th, Matt brought in Rod Nichols.
Pinch hitter Jeff Bagwell scored on a Griffey sac fly.
I took care of an Andres Galarraga grounder of the 3rd out.

Giants lead 8-2

In the bottom of the 8th, Harold hit ANOTHER three-run homer!
I was lifted for a pinch hitter after that, with the game well in-hand.

We won, 11-2.

I went 0 for 2 with a pair of walks, two runs scored, and three stolen bases.

Tomorrow is a travel day and we are headed to Houston.

September 14th, 1990

We are in the Astrodome.

We had trouble on our last road trip. Let's start this one on a positive note.

The Astros are pitching Jeff Livin (6-7, 3.59).

The Giants have Roy Smith (8-5, 3.86).

I have never faced Livin.

I am hitting sixth.

I led off the 2nd by flying out to my namesake, Rusty Greer, in right.

I caught a Felix Jose foul pop for the last out of the inning.

Picking up where he left off last game, Harold Baines hit a three-run homer in the 3rd.
I came up after him and walked but was then caught stealing.

Giants lead 3-0

Things went well in the 5th. First Joel Chimelis came in as a pinch runner for Robby Thompson and scored on a sac fly by Harold. Then Alvin Davis scored on a single by me. Then Ryan Klesko and I scored on a double by Tim Naehring.

The bad news is that Joel pinch ran for Robby after the latter hurt his knee on the base paths. Robby walked off so it isn't too bad.

Giants lead 7-0

I was lifted for a pinch hitter in the 7th. Once again, because the game was secure.

It stayed 7-0.

I went 1 for 2 with a single, a walk, a run scored, an RBI, and a caught stealing.

September 15th, 1990

We got a big win yesterday. Let's keep it rolling.

Today the Astros are pitching Manny Hernandez (2-0, 1.29).

The Giants have Bob Walk (8-10, 4.27).

I have gone 9 for 40, or .225 against Hernandez.

I am hitting clean-up.

I came up in the 1st with one out, Robby Thompson on 3rd, and Alvin Davis on 1st. I did the worst possible thing and hit into a double play.

We struck in the 2nd when Tim Naehring hit a two run homer. Then Alan Cockrell scored on a single by Robby.

Giants lead 3-0

They did something they couldn't do yesterday and also scored when Jim Edmonds and Feliz Jose crossed on a double by Hernandez.

Giants lead 3-2

I came up in the 3rd with Ryan Klesko on 1st. While I was at the plate, he was thrown out trying to steal.
I walked.
Stolen base #125.
I scored on a Harold Baines single.

Giants lead 4-2

I took care of a Craig Worthington grounder for the final out in the inning.

I came up in the 4th with two out, Alvin on 2nd, and Ryan on 1st. I walked, loading the bases.
Harold cleared us up with a double.

Giants lead 7-2

I took care of a Jose grounder for the 1st out in the bottom of the 4th.
I then did the same to pitcher Dave Haas for the 2nd out.

We got a couple more in the 5th when Alan scored on groundout by Robby and then Bob scored on a groundout by Alvin.

Giants lead 9-2

In the bottom of the 5th I took care of a Glenn Davis grounder for the 2nd out.

I led off the 6th against Haas. I walked again.
Stolen base #126.
I was left there.

Scott Garrelts took the mound for us in the 7th.

I handled a Craig Biggio grounder for the last out in the inning.

I came up with two out in the 8th. Jeff Heathcock was pitching. I hit one to left centre for a triple!
I was awarded home when Heathcock was called for a balk.

Giants lead 10-2

Phil Ouellette was in for Alvin at 1st.
In the bottom of the 8th, Edmonds hit a two run homer.
Then Clay Bellinger did the exact same thing.

Matt brought in Mark Williamson along with Joel Chimelis at 1st and Rob Deer in right on a triple switch.

Giants lead 10-6

In the 9th, Tim answered with a homerun.

Giants lead 11-6

I took care of a Biggio grounder for the 2nd out in the bottom of the 9th.

After a mini-scare in the 8th, we grabbed the win.

I went 1 for 2 with a triple, three walks, three runs scored, and two stolen bases.

September 16th, 1990

We are finishing up in Houston today, trying for the sweep.

The Astros are pitching Chris Hammond (10-11, 3.14).

The Giants have Frank Viola (14-8, 2.97).

I have done well against Hammond, going 7 for 23, or .304.

I am hitting clean-up.

I came up in the 1st with two out and Dale Murphy on 1st. I popped out to Craig Worthington at 3rd.

The Astros struck first on the 2nd when Mike Aldrete and Mark Bailey scored on a Rod Brewer double.
Then Clay Bellinger and Brewer scored on a Hammond double.
Hammond scored on a John Olerud single.

Matt brought in Rod Nichols to stop the bleeding.
He didn't and Worthington scored on a Jim Edmonds single.
By the time we got out of it, it was a big hole.

Astros lead 6-0

I led off the 4th by flying out to Edmonds in centre.

In the bottom of the 4th I dealt with a Worthington fielder's choice for the 1st out but Hammond scored on the play.

Astros lead 7-0

In the 5th, Bellinger scored on a Hammond sac fly.

Astros lead 8-0

I led off the 6th by reaching on an infield hit.
Stolen base #127.
I went to 3rd on a Tim Naehring groundout.
I scored on a Ruben Sierra sac fly.

Astros lead 8-1

With a man on in the bottom of the 6th, Matt brought in Scott Garrelts.
He stranded the runner.

With one out and the bases loaded in the 7th, Matt went to Mark Williamson.
Bailey scored on a sac fly by pinch hitter Johnny Paredes.

Astros lead 9-1

I came up in the 8th with two out and Pete Schourek on the mound.
I did the nearly unthinkable.
I hit a home run.

Astros lead 9-2

Deron McCue and Greg Litton replaced Alvin Davis and Robby Thompson.

In the 9th, Ruben scored on a pinch hit double by Harold Baines. Then Harold scored on a single by Deron.

We couldn't do enough, though, and lost, 9-4.

I went 2 for 4 with a single, a home run, two runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base.

As we were travelling to Cincinnati we heard that Harold Baines was named NL Player of the Week! Nice.

rpriske 12-12-2022 02:01 PM

September 17th, 1990

We are in Cincinnati.

The Reds are pitching Mike Scott (10-9, 2.16).

The Giants are going with Bruce Ruffin (10-9, 3.53).

I have gone only 11 for 57, or .193, against Scott.

Still, I am back in my happy place - hitting lead-off.

I kicked off the game by taking a walk.
Stolen base #128.
Then, why wait? Stolen base #129.
I scored on an Alvin Davis groundout.

Giants lead 1-0

The lead was short lived as in the bottom of the 1st, Eric Davis hit a two run homer.

Reds lead 2-1

I came up in the 3rd with one out and Bruce on 1st.
I hit into a fielder's choice, replacing Bruce at 1st.
This time I was thrown out trying to steal.

In the bottom of the 3rd, Will Clark hit a solo homer.

Reds lead 3-1

I handled a Mike Greenwell grounder for the 1st out in the bottom of the 4th.

I came up in the 5th with one out, Mark Lewis on 3rd, and Joel Chimelis on 2nd.
I grounded out to Clark at 1st without moving the runners.

I came up in the 7th with two out and Bruce on 1st. They brought in Mark Guthrie to face me.
I walked.
We were left on.

With two out and one on in the bottom of the 7th, Matt brought in Mark Davis.
I made an error on a Tim McIntosh grounder.
Unacceptable.

In the 8th, Mike Mordecai scored on a Clark single.
Then Clark scored on a Carlos Baerga single.
Nick Capra scored on a wild pitch by Mark.

Reds lead 6-1

It never got better.

I went 0 for 2 with a pair of walks, a run scored, two stolen bases, a caught stealing, and an error.

rpriske 12-17-2022 11:26 AM

September 18th, 1990

It is only two games in Cincinnati and after yesterday's loss, we need to salvage a split.

Today the Reds are pitching Tom Browning (16-10, 3.18).

The Giants have Rick Sutcliffe (7-10, 4.69).

I have gone 18 for 57, or .316. against Browning.

I am hitting third.

The bad thing is that we have a lot of aching players in the lineup today, including Rick.

I came up in the 1st with one out and Alvin Davis on 1st. I replaced him with a fielder's choice.
Stolen base #130.
I was left there.

We opened the scoring in the 2nd when Ryan Klesko crossed on an Alan Cockrell triple.

Giants lead 1-0

I came up in the 3rd with one out and Robby Thompson on 1st. I struck out.

I came up next with two out in the 5th and sent one up the middle for a single.
I was picked off 1st.

Rick had to leave the game with one out in the 5th due to a problem with his arm. He already had back stiffness. I hope this isn't too bad.
Matt brought in Rod Nichols.

Carlos Baerga welcomed him with a homerun.

Game tied 1-1

We got the lead right back in the 6th when Ryan scored on a Tim Naehring double.

Giants lead 2-1

Pat Combs took the mound for us in the 7th. He hasn't done so great since coming over in the Mike Aldrete trade.
In a triple switch, Rob Deer and Joel Chimelis replaced Harold Baines and Alvin.

Perfect inning for Pat. Good job.

I led off the 8th. They brought in Jay Howell to face me. I grounded out to Dave Staton at 3rd.

Tom O'Malley replaced Robby. Luis Medina replaced Ruben Sierra.

Another perfect inning for Pat!

Bobby Thigpen took over in the 9th, with Greg Litton also taking over for Tom.

I caught a Will Clark pop for the 1st out with a man on 3rd.

After Pat got a nice hold, Bobby couldn't hold it and walked Eric Davis with the bases loaded to tie the game.

Game tied 2-2

I led off the 10th. They brought in Greg Cadaret.
I hit one to the wall in centre for a double.
I went to 3rd on a fly out by Joel.
I scored on a sac fly by Luis.
Ryan and Tim followed with back-to-back doubles for another run.

Giants lead 4-2

Mark Williamson took the mound for the 10th.
Deron McCue replaced Alan in a double switch.

Mark got the first two outs but then gave up two singles before leaving the game with some sort of ailment. I am not sure what was up.
Mark Davis took over and struck out Clark to get the game.

This game was nuts.

I went 2 for 5 with a single, a double, a run scored, a stolen base, and a caught stealing (pick off, really).

We are now heading to Atlanta, but what about Rick and Mark?

`````````````
It turns out the Mark Williamson has a sore back and other than needing a day off, should be fine.
We haven't heard about Rick Sutcliffe yet.
rpriske 12-23-2022 10:13 AM
September 19th, 1990
We cruised into Atlanta today. I hate playing here.
The Braves are pitching Tom Glavine (15-10, 2.74).
The Giants have Roy Smith (9-5, 3.66).
I have done well against Glavine, going 18 for 54, or .333), with a home run.
I am hitting clean up,
I led off the 2nd by grounding out to Jeff Blauser at 2nd.
The Braves scored in the bottom of the 2nd when Jim Thome crossed on a Hubie Brooks double.
Then Brooks scored on a Glavine single.
In the 3rd Thome scored again. This time on a Blauser single.
Braves lead 3-0
Alvin scored and I went to 3rd on a sac fly by Ryan Klesko.
Rob Deer walked to reload the bags.
We were left that way.
Braves lead 3-2
We tied it up in the 5th when Roy scored on a Dale Murphy single.
I came up with one out, Alvin on 3rd, and Dale on 1st.
I struck out.
Game tied 3-3
I came up next in the 7th with two out. I hit a blistering drive but Gary Reds snagged it at 1st.
John Burkett took the mound for us in the 7th.
I took care of a Sheffield grounder for the 1st out.
I also handled a Brooks grounder for the 2nd out in the bottom of the 8th.
They got the lead back, though, went pinch hitter Boi Rodriguez scored on a single by Ed Sprague.
Braves lead 4-3
We couldn't score in the 9th and that was it.
I went 0 for 4 with a reached-on-error.
The team signed a former big leaguer - Curt Brown - to a minor league deal. He hasn't been in the Bigs since 1986, so I am not expecting much.
rpriske 12-26-2022 04:12 PM
September 20th, 1990
We finish a short set in Atlanta today.
The Braves are pitching Ben McDonald (13-10, 3.52).
Alvin Davis opened the scoring in the 3rd with a two run dinger.
Giants lead 2-0
I took care of a Mike Humphreys grounder for the 1st out in the bottom of the 3rd.
I came up in the 4th in the same situation as the 2nd. None out and Harold on 1st. I hit what should have been a fielder's choice but ended up being a reached-on-error as Harold was safe at 2nd.
We both moved up on a sac bunt by Tim Naehring.
Harold scored and I went to 3rd on a groundout by Greg Myers.
I scored on a single by Bob.
Giants lead 4-0
I led off the 6th, now facing Kevin Blankenship.
I lined one into left for a single.
I was thrown out trying to steal 2nd.
With one out in the 6th, Atlanta loaded the bases and Matt called in Gene Nelson. Deron McCue replaced Greg in a double switch.
Andres Galarraga met Gene with a single, scoring Jerome Walton and Ken Griffey Jr.
Two batters later, Humpreys singled home Jim Thome.
Then Galarraga and Jeff Blauser scored on a Chris Jelic single.
With two out, Humphreys scored on a Walton single.
Braves lead 6-4
Willie Fraser took over in the 7th.
Humphreys hit a two out, three-run homer off him.
Braves lead 9-4
I came up with two out in the 8th, facing Mike Bormann.
I grounded out to Galarraga at 1st.
With two out and a man on in the bottom of the 8th, Matt brought in Mark Williamson.
We could not score in the 9th and we lost again.
I went 1 for 4 with a single, a reached-on-error, a run scored, and a caught stealing.
Now we head to L.A.
rpriske 12-29-2022 05:13 PM
September 21st, 1990
We are in L.A. - our traditional rivalry.
The Dodgers are pitching Jim Deshaies (9-10, 3.95).
The Giants have Frank Viola (14-9, 3.18).
I have gone 3 for 12 against Deshaies and am hitting third.
I came up next with two out in the 3rd and I worked a walk.
I got no further.
I got the final out in the 4th when Bill Spiers tried to go 1st to 3rd on a Chili Davis single but I dove in there ahead of him for the tag.
I came up in the 5th with one out and Alvin Davis on 1st.
While I was at the plate, Alvin moved up on a wild pitch.
I moved him to 3rd on an infield single.
Alvin, scored, I went to 2nd, and Harold was safe at 1st on an error by Spiers at short.
I was left on due to a double play.
Giants lead 3-0
The Dodgers got on the board in the 5th when Phil Plantier scored on a pinch hit single by Paul Sorrento.
Then Wehner scored on a wild pitch by Frank.
Giants lead 3-2
I handled a Candy Maldonado grounder for the last out in the 6th.
I flew out to Plantier in centre.
For the bottom of the 7th, Joel Chimelis and Rob Deer replaced Alvin and Harold at 1st and right.
I grounded out to Kent Hrberk at 1st.
Bobby Thigpen came it to shut things down in the bottom of the 9th.
Three batters later he had the save and we had the win.
I went 1 for 4 with a single and a walk.
rpriske 12-31-2022 03:58 PM
September 22nd, 1991
We beat the Dodgers yesterday. Let's do it again.
They are pitching Matt Young (10-9, 2.19).
The Giants have Bruce Ruffin (10-10, 3.55).
Young has been a problem for me. An 0 for 15 problem.
I am hitting clean-up.
We started with a walk for Robby Thompson and a home run for Alvin Davis.
Then Dale Murphy walked and I came up.
While I was at the plate, Dale moved up on a wild pitch.
I walked on four pitches.
I was erased on a Ruben Sierra double play.
Dale ended up scoring on another wild pitch. Then Ryan Klesko scored on yet another wild pitch.
Giants lead 4-0, on only one hit.
I took care of a grounder by Paul Faries for the 1st out in the bottom of the 1st.
Before the inning was up, Tim Wallach scored on a Chili Davis single.
Giants lead 4-1
I led off the 3rd by flying out to Davis in right.
I got the 1st out in the bottom half off a grounder by pinch hitter, Bill Spiers.
After that, Faries scored on a Wallach single.
In the 4th, L.A. tied things up when Faries hit a two run homer.
The 6th put things back in our favour.
Ryan led off with a walk.
Rob Deer pinch hit for Bruce and walked, loading the bases.
Tim scored on a wild pitch and then Robby hit a three-run homer.
Narcisco Mesa relieved for the Dodgers.
I walked.
We both moved up on a wild pitch.
I handled a Mesa grounder for the 1st out behind him.
In the 7th Robby hit a two run homer. He is having a game!
Giants lead 12-4
Rod Nichols took the ball for us in the 7th.
I was lifted for a pinch hitter in the 8th.
The Dodgers made a go of it but we still won, 12-7.
I went 0 for 2 with a pair of walks.
Despite the win, something else happened today. Both teams were officially eliminated from playoff contention.
This season was not what we expected after winning the World Series.
We signed former big leaguer to a minor league deal. Jeff Dedmon. He pitched for Atlanta from 1983-1986.
rpriske 12-31-2022 04:03 PM
September 23rd, 1990
We are going for the sweep in L.A. We may be out of the playoffs but we still need to play to win, everyday.
The Dodgers are pitching Dennis Rasmussen (11-5, 2.57).
The Giants have Rick Sutcliffe (7-10, 4.50).
I am getting a rest day.
We won, 4-2. I got a pinch hitting opportunity but I struck out.
We are heading home now, to face the Padres.
rpriske 12-31-2022 04:17 PM
September 24th, 1990
Back in San Francisco.
Unfortunately, Mark couldn't shut the door and Smith ended up scoring on a Tony Gwynn single.
Padres lead 2-0
I led off the bottom of the 9th against Bob Patterson.
I struck out. (My 50th on the season.)
We were shut out.
I went 0 for 3 with a walk.
rpriske 12-31-2022 04:33 PM
Giants lead 1-0
With two on and two out in the 6th, Matt brought in Gene Nelson.
He got out of it.
I came up in the 6th with one out and, once again, Ryan on 1st.
This time, I walked.
We moved up on a wild pitch.
Ryan scored and I went to 3rd on a Harold Baines sac fly.
I was left.
Giants lead 2-0
Matt did a flurry of defensive moves in the 8th, including bringing in Willie Fraser to pitch.
I snagged a pinch hit liner by Guillen for the 1st out.
I came up with two out in the bottom of the 8th, facing Stuart Rogers.
I walked.
I was thrown out trying to steal.
Bobby Thigpen took the ball for us in the 9th.
He pitched a perfect inning and we had the win.
I went 0 for 2 with two walks and a caught stealing.
We eliminated the Padres from playoff contention with that win. Our division is down to the Braves and the Reds.
We found out afterwards that Roy Smith signed a three year contract extension to stick around with us as we head back up.
rpriske 01-02-2023 03:23 PM
September 26th, 1990
It is the rubber match against the Padres today.
San Diego is pitching Tim Belcher (14-16, 3.47).
The Giants have Frank Viola (15-9, 3.15).
I have gone 7 for 27, or .259, against Belcher.
I am hitting 6th today.
I took care of an Armando Verdugo grounder for the 3rd out int he game.
I came up in the 2nd with one out and Ruben Sierra on 2nd.
I grounded out back to Belcher, but I moved Ruben up.
He scored on a Padre error.
Giants lead 1-0
I finished the top of the 3rd with a Priske - Thompson - Davis double play to get Harold Reynolds and Junior Felix.
I took care of Verdugo again, for the 2nd out in the 4th.
I also took care of an Ozzie Guillen grounder for the 2nd out in the 5th.
But then Greg Briley scored on a Belcher double.
I handled a Reynolds grounder for the 3rd out
I led off the bottom of the 5th by striking out.
We scored that inning, though, when Tim Naehring crossed on a double by Frank. Both starters got an RBI!
Giants lead 2-1
In the 6th Ryan Klesko scored on a double by Ruben.
I came up with two out and Ruben still on 2nd. I hit a foul pop.
Matt brought in a bunch of defensive subs for the 7th. Luis Medina, Rob Deer, and Joel Chimelis entered the game in the corner outfield spots and 1st.
Charlie Hayes scored on a pinch hit single by Carmelo Martinez.
I came up with one out in the 8th. Joel was on 1st and Sterling Hitchcock was pitching.
While I was at the plate, Joel was thrown out trying to steal.
I hit one down to the left field corner for a double.
I was stranded.
Bobby Thigpen took the ball for the 9th.
Greg Litton took over at 1st. Mark Lewis came it to play short. Joel shifted to 2nd.
Bobby gave up a double but that was all and we had the win.
I went 1 for 4 with a double.
The Braves clinched our division today. Cleveland and Oakland already clinched in the AL. Only the NL West is still up for the grabs, and the Expos are still in the mix!
We have a day off before the Dodgers come in.
rpriske 01-02-2023 03:42 PM
We are starting the last series of the year and it is against the Dodgers.
Today they are pitching Matt Young (10-9, 2.34).
It is the penultimate game of our season.
The Dodgers are pitching Ken Howell (17-12, 2.65).
The Giants have Roy Smith (9-6, 3.63).
I have gone 9 for 26, or .346, against Howell.
I am hitting lead-off.
Kent Hrbek hit a solo shot with two out in the 1st.
I took care of a Tim Wallach grounder for the 3rd out.
Dodgers lead 1-0
I led off the home side by grounding out to Bill Spiers at short.
I got the 2nd out in the 2nd off a John Wehner grounder.
I came up with two out in the 3rd and struck out.
I led off in the 6th and flew out to Chili Davis in left.
Matt sent Mark Williamson out in the 8th.
I took care of Howell's sac bunt for the 1st out.
Then Wehner scored on a Spiers single.
Dodgers lead 2-0
I came up in the 8th with Joel Chimelis on 2nd, Dale Murphy on 1st, and Tom Henke pitching.
I grounded into a fielder's choice, moving Joel to 3rd and replacing Dale at 1st.
I was thrown out trying to steal 2nd.
Matt went to John Burkett in the 9th.
We ended up shut out.
I went 0 for 4 with a caught stealing.
The Mets clinched the NL East.
Remember that we signed Bob Forsch back in August?
He retired. Never got back to the Bigs.
Last day of the season.
The Dodgers are pitching Mike Witt (9-9, 3.43).
I am hitting 6th.
I caught a Kent Hrbek fly for the 3rd out in the game.
I came up in the 2nd with one out and Harold Baines on 1st.
I hit into a fielder's choice, replacing Harold.
I got no further.
The Dodgers opened the scoring in the 4th when Tom Wallach crossed on a Monty Fariss single.
Dodgers lead 1-0
I caught a Bill Spiers pop for the 1st out in the 5th.
I led off the bottom of the 5th by eating a fastball to the ribs. No intention, of course.
Stolen base #134.
With one out I was thrown out trying to steal 3rd.
With one out in the 7th, Matt brought in Mark Davis.
I came up with two out in the bottom of the 7th.
I grounded out to Fariss at 2nd.
I took care of a Chili Davis grounder for the 2nd out in the 8th.
Tim Wallach followed with a solo homer.
Dodgers lead 2-0
Looked like we were falling out of it... except not so fast. Alvin Davis hit a three run home run so we went into the 9th leading 3-2.
Bobby Thigpen came it to shut it down in the 9th. Matt also did his usual defensive switches, bringing in Luis Medina, Rob Deer, and Joel Chimelis.
Three up, three down so we ended the season with a win and Bobby got his 40th save.
I went 0 for 2 with a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base, and a caught stealing.
We finished 87-75. 4th in the NL West, 8 games behind Atlanta.
I hit .241 with a .400 bop. My OPS+ was 105. I earned 7.8 WAR.
This was just an off year for me, all around. Not terrible, but my WAR the previous two years was 13.8 and 14.3.
I led the league in Runs Scored, Stolen Bases (by a lot), and Caught Stealing (by a little).
Harold Baines led the league in RBI.
I was 3rd in WAR, behind Ken Griffey Jr. and Jim Thome, both of Atlanta.
Oakland beat Cleveland 4 games to 1 to win the ALCS.
New York beat Atlanta by the same margin to win the NLCS.
It took all seven games, but the Mets won the World Series.
As we approached Halloween, the team signed bunch of contracts.
Chris Brown is sticking around in the organization. Same for Fran Mullins.
On the big team, Mark Ross signed a one year extension. So do Max Venable. So did Steve Stanicek and Willie Fraser.
Some bigger names: Bruce Ruffin, Mark Williamson, and Alan Cockrell all signed!
