September 2298 - News and Notes - September 11
https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...1&d=1586093507
Today in the CBO News and Notes - Reports from around the Commonwealth by Nat Wright-Kawolski 11 September 2298 - From the Publick Occurrences Archives Hi, Publick Occurrences readers. Our home team, The Diamond City Swatters, continues today in Game 3 of the first round of the playoffs. In Game 2, pitcher X10-44 Mannson was named the Game MVP in the Swatters' first-ever playoff victory. Today I want to continue our feature of a string of stories that indicate the change of Diamond City from a place of fear and loathing to an open city welcoming all. This story string takes us back to the first change in 2229; to 2287 when my sister, Piper Wright, wrote an article about the Institute history in Diamond City; to 2288 and the change; all the way to today in 2298 when Diamond City has become a beacon of the peaceful and equal Commonwealth. That change has led to people like X10-44 Mannson being welcomed in the city and a hero for Diamond City baseball. Below is the second story in this string of stories by Piper. Please enjoy this Publick Occurrences classic, "Out in Left Field." Here, Piper gets personal about Mayor McDonough taking her article personally. The story below: Out in Left Field By Piper Wright 8 November 2287 – From the Publick Occurrences Archives Just over a week ago, I published an article titled “The Synthetic Truth.” It got people talking, but more surprisingly it made Mayor McDonough react in a bizarre way. You see, there are rumors flying, and they are not made by me. Whether I intend to or not, though, I am now a part of this story. Mayor McDonough’s reaction to my article became personal. McDonough had already had a shady history as mayor here in Diamond City. His first action as mayor when he was elected in 2282 was to kick out all ghoul residents, including his own brother, John McDonough*. His “Anti-ghoul Decree of 2282” will remain an infamous change for our small city of how fear can cause bad things to happen. Now we are weaker and yet still divided. That division now is ever-more present since 2282. Now that we are “all humans” in Diamond City, minus our one accepted synth, Detective Nick Valentine, and a few robot servants, including Wellingham at the Colonial Taphouse, our division is in those above versus those below. Those dwelling in the stands of the Great Green Jewel are our masters, our bosses, our benefactors. Those of us on the ground are to be spat upon, to be hated. To be feared. Mayor McDonough may have banned the ghouls, but he did not unite the city as he would claim. And yet he gave a speech today in front of us lowlies. He tried to tell us that everything is fine. He even mentioned me. Read my article. I claimed nothing. Nothing about him. Pretty guilty reaction, Mr. Mayor. Now read his speech in its entirety that he made next to our tall green wall: “I would like to address the subject that is on everyone's mind, and that is the disgusting article Piper has written. Diamond City has stood united for over 150 years. And what keeps us united are two things. First, is the great green guardian behind me. The Wall. Our protector and our savior from the filth of the outside. And second, is our faith and trust in each other. The faith and trust that has given us prosperity, security, and education for every citizen. And while the paper might point their fingers at synths and other ghost stories to drive us apart, we will not betray this sacred trust. Now I want everyone to hear these next words very carefully. I. Am not. A synth. I am the same flesh and blood boy who grew on these streets. Who was born in a shack just down the waterfront to Martha and Patrick McDonough. And I will not abandon my city due to the heinous allegations of the press.” Who said you were a synth, Mr. Mayor? I did not in my article, like you claimed. And yet, you locked me out of the city. You banned me, or at least you tried, before an interesting character came upon the city at that time and helped me to get back in. What exactly are you hiding, Mr. Mayor? What would make you react in such a way that you would lock me out of the city? What would make you think separating me from my young sister, Nat Wright, would be a good way to protect the city? What dangers are you actually in, Mr. Mayor? You say I am sewing discontent. We groundlings think you are our biggest threat, dividing our city to make it easier for the Institute to pick off our citizens. We have 23 people who disappeared from existences in the last two years. Where are they, Mr. Mayor? What are you doing to find them? Prosperity? For whom? Those living in the stands? Security? Tell it to the 23 missing people. Tell it to the vault dweller who just rode up on our settlement while looking for his infant son, also kidnapped. Education? A small schoolhouse that has a single teacher? All you have achieved, Mr. Mayor, is division. Whether or not you are a synth may not matter. You are dangerous to Diamond City, and we hope the election next year brings in a new mayor who will unite this city. Not divide it. And we hope that mayor is 100% human. Unlike you, Mr. Mayor. Your guilty actions give you away, spy. * Nat’s Note: John McDonough is now known as John Hancock, owner of the Goodneighbor Hancocks and mayor of Goodneighbor. 11 September 2298 - The Slog Catcher Avoids Major Injury The Slog backup catcher Oscar Armor was lucky to be in full gear while clearing out a field southwest of The Slog. Armor had recently invested in a small plot of land that he plans to build a shack, grow a few crops, and raise some animals. While clearing out the plot, he happened upon a solo albino radscorpion. That could have been a problem since Armor was alone. Well, alone but donned in his personalized armor. Armor has become . . . famous . . . for a customized armor he wears made out of latex material. His teammates joking refer to his armor as his "wiener armor" since latex is a well-known material for protection of a different sort. Armor's armor is pliable and strong, allowing it to stop most small-caliber bullets and the penetrating bites and claws of many wasteland critters. In his Wiener Armor, the albino scorpion would usually have an advantage against the latex, it's pointy stinger. However, this scorpion's stinger was broken off, probably from a different fight or encounter. "I was lucky that thing didn't have a stinger," Armor said from the clinic at The Slog's clubhouse. "It had me in its claws, but my hoe did enough damage to blind it and then crush its skull." Armor did suffer a broken bone in his leg where the scorpion held him in its claw, but he should heal well before the 2299 season. 11 September 2298 - Four Playoff Games Today, One Finished There would be five games of action in the CBO/BMU today, except for the series that ended in a surprising sweep yesterday when the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud finished off the North Charles Association's #1 seed, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys. Instead, we will have only four games, allowing the BMU's Boston Minor Series to get some coverage today. That game will be broadcast by Diamond City Radio's all-robot crew on radio. It will not be televised. Game 2 features the Galleria Robotic Experts' Mike Longwalk facing off against the Natick Banks Big Leaguers' Jason Haynes. Galleria leads the series, 1-0. The first game of the day will begin at 12:05 when the Oberland T-51s visit the Warwick Mirelurks. Oberland's Gerald Jerry gets the start, while Jerry Weisman takes the mound for the Lurks. That series is tied, 1-1. Easy Town tries to clinch its series in four games when it hosts the Abernathy Adamantium today. Joe Penaltybox will take the mound for Abernathy, and Angel Waterdrink pitches for the Assaultrons. That game begins at 3:05. The nightcap and featured game on BosCom Television as part of the Baseball News Network offering sees the Diamond City Swatters hosting their first playoff game against the #1 seed, Goodneighbor, at 9:05 PM. John Oldsink and Tyler Powers face off in the series tied 1-1. |
I'm of course happy the Silver Shroud advanced, but I think a sweep is quite surprising for all involved, and the predictions here!
|
Say it ain't so, Joe!
Congrats to Fort Hagen, though. The Boys can't blame bad luck, going down three games in a row, but it has been a great season. I suppose it says a lot that my expectations were raised to the point where anything less than reaching the SSSeries is a disappointment, whereas last year I was just thankful they scraped into the play-offs. As for Mayor McDonough, as the Bard said, "Methinks he doth protest too much"! And because of that, I'll have to transfer my allegiance to the Hancocks - just for these play-offs, mind you. I'll be back rooting for the Boys next season. |

Today in the CBO News and Notes - Reports from around the Commonwealth by Nat Wright-Kawolski 12 September 2298 - From the Publick Occurrences Archives Hi, Publick Occurrences readers. Our home team, The Diamond City Swatters, made the playoffs for the first time in team history. Yesterday afternoon, pitcher X10-44 Mannson was named the Game MVP in the Swatters' first-ever playoff victory. Below is the third story in this string of stories by Piper. Please enjoy this Publick Occurrences classic, "MacCready Becomes Diamond City’s Mayor." In this story, Piper covered the 2288 election where Robert MacCready became mayor of Goodneighbor and immediately repealed Mayor McDonough's anti-ghoul laws. MacCready went on to change more in the city, eventually helping it to expand out of the Great Green Jewel and helping Nate Howard in his pursuits to unify the Commonwealth and bring baseball back. The story below: MacCready Becomes Diamond City’s Mayor By Piper Wright 30 November 2288 - Robert MacCready will be the mayor of Diamond City for the next six years, starting tomorrow. In a landslide decision, MacCready beat out Codman Family Farms owner Clarence Codman for control of the city. Geneva Burnheart dropped out of the race last week and leant her support for MacCready. She has been named Vice Mayor during this transfer period. One of MacCready’s first terms of business is to repeal the Anti-ghoul Decree of 2282. He has said that his main goal is to truly unite Diamond City to make it as progressive as it should be in a peaceful Commonwealth. This comes at a time where Nate Howard has been negotiating with different factions to make peace throughout the area. An announcement is expected to take place at any time. While there is peace in most of the Commonwealth now, Diamond City’s recent reaction has been surprising. Codman’s campaign was built on testing all citizens and people who enter Diamond City for synth components. Diamond City Clinic owner Doctor Sun has said that the technology needed to perform those tests would be something only the Institute could do. That bit of information reported in Publick Occurrences may have led to the end of Codman’s campaign. Burnheart dropped out of the race because she said she believed in MacCready’s principles of trust and unity. She said that she would have stayed in the election to make sure Codman was not elected, but she thought that she and MacCready may split votes instead, giving Codman a chance to win. As it turned out, the 80-20 split in votes made that highly unlikely. Burnheart has also stated that she would be fully committed to MacCready’s cause and be a face for the people outside the Stands. MacCready claims he has been a mayor before, twice as a teenager. We at Publick Occurrences could not confirm that information, but we are reporting as told to us by Mayor MacCready. According to MacCready, he was once the mayor of a kids-only community in the Capital Wasteland called Little Lamplight. By his account, he was around 10 years old—approximately 2274—when he became mayor through a coup against a girl named Princess who wanted Little Lamplight to be her kingdom. On his 16th birthday, he left Little Lamplight, as kids had to do. He started wandering the Wasteland before he met a young lady named Lucy. They became nomads and gave birth to a son, Duncan. One night, while the family slept in an abandoned metro station in the Capital Wasteland, a pack of feral ghouls attacked. Lucy died in the attack, but MacCready was able to escape with Duncan. They ended up settling in a place north of the former District of Columbia in 2282. MacCready founded his own settlement there that he called Big Lamplight. Soon he built a nice settlement with as many fortifications as he could build up to protect Duncan, the settlers that came there, and himself. Unfortunately, Duncan came down with a disease, later identified by Curie, one of Nate’s companions and a scientist, as Limit 115, also known as the New Plague or Blue Flu. MacCready searched the Capital Wasteland for what was causing blue boils to form all over his son’s body. No one knew, so MacCready left Duncan in Big Lamplight and traveled to the Commonwealth in 2286 seeking answers. When he arrived in the Commonwealth, he first joined up with the Gunners but soon learned that he would not be able to find his answers, so he left them in 2287. Still, they were a problem for him since people were only allowed to leave the Gunners when they were dead. Nate helped MacCready take care of his Gunners problem, though, and MacCready’s search continued. With Nate’s help, along with Curie, the cure was finally found in early 2288. MacCready left with a Minuteman crew and returned with his son in the August 2288 with a cured Duncan, now seven years old. They decided to settle in Diamond City in Nate’s home, Home Plate. Now MacCready is the mayor of Diamond City and change for the city is imminent. We are at a time of peace for the first time in our lives. MacCready may actually make Diamond City the town we always knew it could be. 12 September 2298 - SCA Semifinals Could End Today The North Charles Association League Championship Series is set. The remaining team, the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud and the Easy Town Assaultrons, must now wait to see what happens in the South Charles Association before their matches are set. For now, we have two games in action today, this Monday, September 12. The first game today will start at 4:05 PM with Goodneighbor trying to clinch its series at Diamond City. Quincy Eloquent (1-0, 1.29) will take the mound for the Hancocks, while Tim Fusion (0-1, 3.86) gets the call for the Swatters. In the 8:05 PM matchup, we will see the Oberland T-51s taking on the Warwick Mirelurks with the T-51s one victory short of moving on. Sheng Kawolski (0-1, 5.14) will face off with John Diner (1-0, 2.57) in this matchup. |

Today in the CBO News and Notes - Reports from around the Commonwealth by Nat Wright-Kawolski 13 September 2298 - From the Publick Occurrences Archives Hi, Publick Occurrences readers. Our home team, The Diamond City Swatters, made the playoffs for the first time in team history. Tomorrow, pitcher X10-44 Mannson will pitch Game 5 against the Goodneighbor Hancocks in the Swatters' first-ever playoff appearance. Below is the fourth story in this string of stories by Piper. Please enjoy this Publick Occurrences classic, "Diamond City Dreams." In this story, Piper covered the 2290 Diamond City Open Arms Policy where Mayor Robert MacCready opened Diamond City to three species: humans, ghouls, and synths. MacCready decree helped Diamond City to finally become a boom town after many more settlers poured in and opened businesses in the expanded Diamond City. The story below: Diamond City Dreams By Piper Wright 26 June 2290 - Do you remember those days when Diamond City feared the outside world, and pretty much anything that did not look like us? Do you remember when much of the Commonwealth was the same? I most certainly do. Today, I am proud to report that Diamond City has made the final act towards being the beacon of light in the Commonwealth when Mayor Robert MacCready signed into effect the Diamond City Open Arms Policy. In his speech to the residents of the Commonwealth where he was accompanied by Desdemona of the Railroad and Wiseman of the Ghoul Settlers Association, MacCready called the day “one of light, one of comfort, one of acceptance, one of open arms.” Through the Diamond City Open Arms Policy, people, synths, and ghouls are all open to own property and businesses in the expanding Diamond City without restrictions. MacCready had prevented any new buildings inside the Great Green Jewel since he was elected in 2298 at the request of Nate Howard and Moe Cronin to begin using the Great Green Jewel for its original purpose, baseball. Instead, MacCready designated areas around Diamond City to be the new city area. That area extends west to Hangman’s Alley where citizens of the Stands now live in luxury apartments, north to the Charles River, east to Massachusetts Avenue, and south to Mass Pike, making Diamond City the largest area of all settlements. Businesses such as Colonial Taphouse, Fallon’s Basement, Kathy & John’s Super Salon, the Mega Surgery Center, and even Publick Occurrences no longer have businesses inside the baseball stadium. MacReady’s proclamation also supports the Synth Protection Act of 2289 treaty worked out by the four factions of the Commonwealth—the Brotherhood of Steel, the Institute, the Minutemen, and the Railroad. That treaty gave all Gen-3 synths full citizenship rights and protections throughout the Commonwealth. However, Diamond City was still hesitant to freely allow synths to reside in Diamond City due to the Broken Mask incident of 2229 and more recently the last stand of former mayor McDonough who was a synth replacement, making a lot of Diamond City’s residents uneasy. However, Howard has worked hard on changing those attitudes, introducing successful and “good” synths throughout the Commonwealth, like Diamond City’s own exception, Detective Nick Valentine and the Brotherhood’s Paladin Danse. Today’s Diamond City Open Arms Policy is the final jewel in the crown of equality, and this reporter is proud today to say that Diamond City is a place to be exulted where fear is no more. 13 September 2298 - Boston Minor Series Game 3 Only Playoff Action With both semifinal series finished in the North Charles Association, there is only one playoff game today. In Game 3 of the Boston Minor Series, the Natick Banks Big Leaguers (Diamond City) visit the Galleria Robotics Experts (Finch Farm). The Bigs' Massive Harbonne will face off with the Experts' Jamie Brenner for the right to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. |

Today, pitcher X10-44 Mannson will pitch Game 5 against the Goodneighbor Hancocks in the Swatters' first-ever playoff appearance. His success and being a welcome member of the Diamond City community marks the epitome of change in our beloved city. Below is the fifth story in this string of stories by Piper. Please enjoy this Publick Occurrences classic, "The Great Green Jewel: A Baseball Spectacle." In this story, Piper covered the 2294 baseball exhibition, the first in the Great Green Jewel after the last of Diamond City moved out of the stadium. You will see that a few of our stars of today played in that game. The story below: The Great Green Jewel: A Baseball Spectacle By Piper Wright 4 June 2294 - Today marked a change for Diamond City, once a settlement entirely inside the Great Green Jewel. Today marked a change for the Great Green Jewel, returning to its roots as a baseball spectacle. In an exhibition game between Cronin’s Swatters managed by Moe Cronin and the Home Platers managed by Arturo Rodriguez, the Swatters won the game, 7-3. Two talented pitchers took the mound today with Pete Pembroke pitching for the Swatters and Sheng Kawolski pitching for the Home Platers, each pitching six innings. Phlip Wallace and Gavin Everitts each pitched the remaining innings for their respective teams. The Swatters best hitter was traveling baseball player John Rose. He played center field and batted first for the Swatters. In five at bats, he had four hits with two doubles off the Wall. He also stole three bases and scored three times. That earned him the Game MVP. One of the best stories of the exhibition was watching a synth player take left field for the Home Platers. The Brotherhood of Steel’s Paladin Danse, unit designation M7-97, who has been confirmed as a formerly escaped synth many years ago, was a specially invited guest of Nate Howard who hopes to start a full baseball league in the Commonwealth sometime in the next few years. Danse was just 1 for 4 for his team, but he did hit an RBI single in the third inning. The game was one thing, but seeing a live baseball game in the Great Green Jewel has a different significance here in Diamond City. Last week, the last of the shacks in the Stands was torn down. That opened up the Great Green Jewel for being a future baseball stadium when Howard’s dream has come true. Howard now has an office in Mayor MacCready’s former mayor’s office, and there is now a working elevator inside the stadium to replace the former freight lift. MacCready’s mayor’s office is now on the top floor of the Hangman’s Alley Hotel. In the last few years, after a treaty between the four factions of the Commonwealth brought peace and protection, Howard has been accompanied by a man we only know as the Mysterious Stranger. Howard has refused to identify the man, but one thing that they did together was to teleport—more on that later—to different areas of the Commonwealth spreading “peace” and baseball. Together, they were known to wipe out a raider stronghold north of Salem, defeated the largest-known super mutant collection west of the Glowing Sea, and a deathclaw breeding ground near Lynn Woods. In the time that the Mysterious Stranger has been here, no one has spoken to him but Howard. Even then, they seem to speak in whispers, and the Stranger teleports away when anyone else approaches. Some say that Howard’s behavior is unbecoming in its secrecy, but he has stated that keeping the Stranger’s identity “mysterious” was necessary for the mission he had. Howard’s companion, Detective Nick Valentine, who has been investigating the Stranger for years, was not happy about the situation. Valentine recently has been working on a case in Goodneighbor for the famous singer, Magnolia. The baseball that Howard and the Stranger has been spreading around consists mostly of “youth camps” where children in settlements and young adults can be trained in baseball. Howard has promised the growing settlements will need a form of entertainment that will replace some of the former pastimes of the Commonwealth. Those pastimes were usually violent in nature, like pugilism, raiders sniping, and declawed and deteethed wrestling against various creatures of the wastes. Back to the teleportation: the Institute was known to be the only faction capable of teleporting. It consisted of relay units to and from the Institute under the C.I.T. Ruins. When the Stranger appeared, one thing that people noticed was that there was no technology other than the Stranger and Howard’s Pip-Boys that were used. Instead of only going to and from the Institute, they could be seen disappearing and appearing “out of thin air” in various places around the Commonwealth. Instead of teleporting, Howard has called it “fast traveling.” I must admit that I have fast traveled with Howard, and the technology is still mysterious and bizarre to me. That fast traveling has allowed Howard to respond to any and all threats alerted to him on his Pip-Boy. Amazing but sometimes frightening to think that technology could end up in a raider boss’s hands. Thankfully, I put my full trust in Howard, the old “Blue,” that he is using fast traveling only for good. Now back to the Baseball Spectacle. As the sun set on the stadium and the lights turned on, I thought back to how much has changed in such an overall short period of time. It’s been fewer than seven years since I first met Howard. I would have never guessed on that day that the grind that was life here in the Commonwealth would change so much. In 2287, fear dominated the day. Ghouls and synths were unwelcome here out of fear. Today, we watched in comfort, security, and safety a joyful event. The Baseball Spectacle showed that things have changed. A synth played in the game. Ghouls cannot because of the fragility of their bodies, but we did see four ghouls on the field as umpires. This is our new truth. This is the blessing of 2294. This Baseball Spectacle was a change indicating that we have come far, and we can only get better. Cheers to baseball. 14 September 2298 - Playoff Action: Boston Minor Series and LS Game 5 Today offers an exciting double-header in baseball playoff action as the Boston Minor Series plays Game 4 of the best-of-five series and the CBO sees Game 5 between the Diamond City Swatters and Goodneighbor Hancocks at Third Rail Stadium at S. Boston HS. In the Boston Minor Series, the Galleria Robotics Experts could clinch the series if they win their home game against the Natick Banks Big Leaguers. Punky Shaum takes the mound for the Experts, while Burp Taylor pitches for the Bigs. Game time is 3:05 PM. Tonight, the Hancocks will try to avoid each association's number one team falling in the League Semifinals. Goodneighbor will send Bruce Iddings to the mound to face off against X10-44 Mannson, whom we featured above. In the Game 2 match between the two teams, Mannson pitched a gem of a game in the Swatters' 6-1 victory, their first ever playoff win. First pitch is 8:05 PM and will be covered by the BNN on television and Diamond City Radio on the sound box. |

Fort Hagen owned the season series in the tow teams' first-ever matchups, winning 6 of 8, including all four at Hubris Comics Park. Luckily for the Easy Town Assaultrons, only two of the potential five games will happen in Fort Hagen. For now, the first two games are near the coast at Easy Town Field where the teams split, 2-2. The Assaultrons were never down for a long time this season, though some midseason struggles left their playoff bid in doubt. After falling behind The Slog for the second-place spot, the Assaultrons finally woke up in August, going an impressive 16-6 in the month to surge ahead of the Ghouls and take the wildcard spot. That they were able to beat Abernathy in the League Semifinals Series was not a shocker. Unlike the regular season, Easy Town's pitching showed up in the first-round matchup in Games 2 and 4, holding the Adamantium to two runs and one run in those games. Still, if the Assaultrons are to win the NCA League Championship, they will need their bats to burst through the baseball seams. League Semifinals MVP Dan Squirrel most certainly showed up for the series. In the four games, he went 7 for 17 (.412) with a home run and four RBI. Frank Clawdodger and Adam Henderson also were 7 for 17, with Clawdodger adding five RBI for the Assaultrons. The CBO batting champion, Jarrett Metalbox, was ice cold, going only 3 for 18 (.167) with two RBI. Matt Stoops provided the only other home run for Easy Town in the series. On the mound. Angel Waterdrink was Easy Town's top pitcher. He went 2-0 in two starts, allowing just six earned run in 16.0 innings (3.38 ERA) on 14 hits with three walks and six strikeouts. Smoker Caliman won his only start, allowing no runs on five hits in 7.0 innings. David Tech (3.86) suffered the only loss in the 5-2 Game 3 loss. Fort Hagen had an up and down battle with Abernathy throughout the 2298 season, ultimately finishing tied on the last day of the regular season for first place and having to play a tiebreaker that the Silver Shroud dropped. They responded to that disappointment of not winning the Institute League by blowing out the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys in three games. Like Easy Town, the Silver Shroud depend more on their offense than defense, and the way their offense played, they have to be the favorite in this series. The Shroud were probably the most shocked about how successful their offense was against Nordhagen Beach. Series MVP Micah Morals was 5 for 12 (.417) with two home runs and nine RBI. Jim Tiller hit the Silver Shroud's other home run, batting 5 for 14 (.357) with four RBI. He also was brutal against Assaultrons' pitching in the regular season, going 11 for 29 (.379) with three home runs and seven RBI. Sam Noob was amazing in his at-bat successes, going 8 for 12 (.667). If Fort Hagen continues with hot bats, no team will be able to stop them. Three games, three winning pitchers in the series sweep describes Fort Hagen. Joey Dimes pitched seven shutout innings in the Game 1, 5-1 win. Brent Hooker followed up with the most hits allowed against the Party Boys, but he still left the game with just a 2.84 ERA and an 8-4 victory. In Game 3, former Salem ace Mike Cartrette showed why he was a good trade by allowing just three earned runs in 6.0 innings (4.50) to help the Shroud to an 11-5 win and a series sweep over the 2297 CBO runners-up. Prediction Fort Hagen continues its season success against the Assaultrons, winning the series in four games, 3-1. |
Echoing my previous comment, it's a shame Goodneighbor and Oberland have to come up against each other now instead of the final, but eh, geography again, so to speak. That's just how it works, and anything else would be like a WS between the Cardinals and Cubs, as interesting as that'd be, it just isn't the designated venue.
