Diamond playoff update:
Laramie into the World Series with a shot at the Perfect tier. (teams did not meet in the regular season) edit: Syrups don't feel to bad now losing 6 of 7 to them.... gonna look at it from a positive view... we beat em once! ;) ) |
Promotion and Relegation
OOTP seems a bit slow on updating today, so no final play off results yet. In fact, in I162 they still don't have the World Series starting yet. I'll check back in a couple of hours, hopefully with some hardware to hand out. Anyway, here's what I have for promotion and relegation, all together for one stop shopping. Make sure to check your friends list and submit. One note: Cat Town's user name had a letter missing, but that's been corrected to trebro.
D355 - see above, Mustangs may be going to perfect. Waffletown, Cary, and Kansas to gold. G329 - Hidden Valley, in Series, headed to diamond. Brooklyn Pimp Ministers, Terra Incgonita, and Shangri-La to silver. S316 - Hooterville to gold. Norwood, Asylum, and Death Valley to bronze. B296 - Transylvania to silver. No relegations. I162 - Vlora and K-Town in series. They, as well as Iron Maiden, Sierra Vista, and Cat Town all going to bronze. The whole league got promoted! St213 - Chicago to iron. Clubbers still alive in playoffs. St188 - Asheboro to iron. Unfortunately, they will be in iron alone. |

Laramie sweeps the series! Heading to Perfect to represent OL! |
K-Town wins Iron
K-Town topped Vlora in 6 games to grab the championship in Iron 162. K-Town piled it on in the deciding game, winning 14-2. This matched the score of their Game 2 triumph.

League Set Ups
3 Attachment(s)
OOTP did their usual spotty job of assigning teams. Hopefully none of the lonely outposts will suffer short schedules. As far as I can teel. we seem to have done well. Given my teams' "success" last week, I now have three teams in three levels, so my list doesn't give me a full picture of iron or diamond.
|
only 3 Diamond teams this week.... and our two Iron teams are in different leagues
|
Any volunteers?
With my three teams in three levels, I can handle the standings, but a volunteer (or two) might be nice. ;)

Stanley had some concerns about the scheduling in B273, but after taking a quick glance at each team's schedule, there is nothing to worry about. Everyone will qualify for a crown run with relative ease. That said, here's the first day review.
<NEO SKY, SKY MAP! plays> Daytona Beach and Death Valley set the early pace, although Death Valley has only had 3 games. Sierra Vista, Blitzkrieg, Asylum, Fort Huachuca, and Vlora are in the mix. At the bottom of the table, Cochise County and Otonokizaka aren't having fun. In non-OL play, the early contenders to go up to silver appear to be Daytona Beach, Asylum, Blitzkrieg, Norwood, Iron Maiden, Sierra Vista, and Death Valley. K-Town, Fort Huachuca, and Vlora are in that second tier of teams that could find their form and make a playoff run. Cochise County, Otonokizaka, and Cat Town may do well to stay in the tier at their current rate of performance. |

Ciudad Trujillo had a 7-4 month to grab the top spot as Hartford, 8-6, and Shangri-La, 3-3, follow close behind. The race still spreads at least seven wide, given that no team has clearly dominated.

A funny non-OL incident from an OL team
1 Attachment(s)
Who doesn't love the great feeling of seeing a bunch of PP's roll in from an epic pounding? Over 15,000 PP from this one. What makes it funny is the last 50 points were because this was classified as a comeback win. :D

Boy, what a football score! What the heck was going on, in the game? Was the wind blowing out at 30 MPH? |

On further inspection, it appears the "victim" (Yankees) is one of those Rookie-to-Gold-to-Rookie teams (reported). Fortunately for me, I've caught them on their descension. Other OL teams in Bronze this season are bound to benefit from this team as well. K-Town is 6-0 against them with scores of 9-2, 8-3, 17-8, 12-7, 17-6, 39-10. In this game, wind was blowing out to right at 40mph! The only non-pitchers K-Town faced were Aaron Hicks, Gary Sanchez and Luke Voit. Voit wasn't charged with any runs. Heading into the 7th, the Rock Piles were down, 10-9. NY used 5 pitchers in the inning, including Hicks. |
Some good pulls today for the Dynasty. Got 53k for silver Dick Bartell (part of Solid Gold collection), parlayed it into a few historical diamonds (95 Bill Terry, 91 Tom Seaver, 96 Bryan Harvey), as well as one I'm actually gonna use (94 Noodles Hahn). Then the big pulls started to roll in. 100 Tom Seaver (non-FOTF), 100 Roy Campanella (FOTF) both arrive at the Kingdom. With coin left over from selling high-value excess, the Dynasty then added 100 Frank Robinson (Special Edition) to replace 99 Miguel Cabrera (All Time Legend) at 1st base. Ideally I'd want Robinson in the outfield, but I have 100 Kirby Puckett (Special Edition) in left, 100 Billy Hamilton (Special Edition) in center, and 100 Vladimir Guerrero (Special Edition) in right. Logjam city in the outfield, so naturally first base became the play. It's safe to say that the old Magus pack mojo might be back.
Once Cabrera sells, may be able to add more things via the AH. |
Gang I do not like reducing my security to play Perfect Team so until that resolves Cat Town won't have a skipper, sorry.

Shangri-La Takes Over in OL S323
4 Attachment(s)
The Dragons had a perfect 5-0 month to gain the lead over Hartford, who posted a fine 6-1 mark of their own. The Brooklyn Pimp Ministers hung in, going 3-1. Terra Incognita made the biggest move, vaulting to third on the strength of a 14-5 month. Ciudad Trujillo, 5-10, and Transylvania, 6-16, suffered precipitous drops.

A little Christmas Eve, midday update...
Daytona Beach currently holds the lead in a tight race in OL B273. OL teams dominate the overall power rankings once again. |
Where Are The Team Records?
In PT, it is very common for the game to mention that a player has tied or broke a team record for strike outs, or number of hits, etc.
Where can I locate these team records? Thanks |

Whalers Rise to Top of OL S323
4 Attachment(s)
Hartford won two of three to move into first in what is at least a five-way race for 2059. The Brooklyn Pimp Ministers matched their pace, at 4-2, to move into second, while Shangri-La slipped to third, going 2-5. Terra Incognita also slumped to 2-4 for the month and was caught by the surging South Side Gooeys, who were 9-2.
Editor's Note: I'm actually planning on baking a St. Louis Gooey cake later today. |

Gold league update:
Kansas still comfortably atop the OL standings with two months remaining. Overall, OL teams hold 5 of the 6 division leads. |

Yes!!! My wife and kids scoff at its simplicity and over-the-top sweetness until I make it, at which point they go to work on it. (All raised in Chicago, what do they know).

Whalers Tighten Grip on OL S323
4 Attachment(s)
While Hartford fashioned a somewhat lackluster 4-3 record for the month, it was good enough to make them a prohibitive favorite as they begin their stretch run knowing that, with seven OL games left, a similar mark will assure them of the crown. All of those games are against the Brooklyn Pimp Ministers, who have 10 games in total to play. Brooklyn needs at least five wins in those seven contests to open up even a difficult path to the crown. Their schedule, however, does make them the second favorite team for fans in South Side, Shangri-La, Ciudad Trujillo, and Terra Incognita. Without a formidable showing by the Pimp Ministers, those four teams could see even a spectacular stretch run wasted.
With only four games left, South Side can't afford even a single loss. Shangri-La, with nine to go, Ciudad Trujillo, 13 on tap, and Terra Inconita, 14 remaining, don't need perfection, but must post much better numbers than they have recently, and hope that Hartford staggers. The Dragones, 5-2, and the Gooeys, at 5-4, were the only squads among the five trailers to post a winning record in this month's sims. The Rustlers were 8-8, the Dragons, 1-4, and the Pimp Ministers were 3-7. |

Gold league update:
A stumbled by Kansas (swept by Weston Pointe in a three game series) and a solid month from Cary opened the door for the Southpaws to move into the lead heading into the stretch run. |
Asylum Firmly in Control in Bronze
5 Attachment(s)
Asylum remains in front in OL B273. Asylum is in good position, with 10 of their remaining 13 OL games coming against 10th place Cat Town.
Meanwhile, 2nd place Death Valley also has 13 OL games left on their schedule, 7 of which comprise the entire remaining OL schedule for 3rd place Sierra Vista. (Kudos if you figure out what I just said.) Vlora, Iron Maiden and Otonokizaka all have work to do to stay out of relegation, while 8 of the top 12 teams in the current power rankings are from the OL. |
Rube Waddell Hurls Gem
1 Attachment(s)
Asylum's premier portsider, George "Rube" Waddell turned in a dominating performance in posting a July no-hitter. My "hands off" managerial style caused this to nearly escape my attention. Anyway, here's a belated tribute to to the Keepers' stylish southpaw.

edit: and figures the one time I miss the twipt stream for that tourney last night, the Syrups matched up against Dishnet's squad to make the live broadcast (though we couldn't even score a run and went down 2-0 in the game) |
Up to the minute update in B273. These are as of September 20, 2059 in game.
<F1 Starting Grid theme by Brian Tyler plays in background> Asylum 43-23 (.651) Death Valley 33-21 (.611) Norwood 33-26 (.559) Daytona Beach 41-33 (.554) Sierra Vista 30-26 (.535) Cochise County 31-30 (.508) Fort Huachuca 31-31 (.500) K-Town 21-21 (.500) Otonokizaka 31-36 (.462) Cat Town 28-36 (.437) Blitzkrieg 20-31 (.392) Vlora 26-41 (.388) Iron Maiden 15-26 (.365) Asylum has two more with Fort Huachuca at home. Death Valley has 3 more with Sierra Vista. Norwood has two left at K-Town. Otonokizaka has 3 left against Vlora. The crown is probably decided, but Otonokizaka's three with Vlora will most likely decide which one of them goes down to Iron. Speaking of non-OL play... - Daytona Beach leads AC East by 3 - Asylum ran away with the AC Central - Blitzkrieg are on a run to try and steal the AC West - Fort Huachuca looks good for WC1, while Blitzkrieg will most likely have WC2 to fall back on if their push to win their division falls short. All other OL teams in the AC (Cat Town, Vlora, and Otonokizaka) are eliminated from playoff contention. - Death Valley leads by 5 over Sierra Vista in NC East - Norwood cruised to the NC West title - Sierra Vista and K-Town have the inside track on WC1 and WC2 in the NC, but Cochise County is not out of it (4 games back). Iron Maiden is eliminated from playoff contention. RELEGATION RACE Daytona Beach (80-73) is safe Cat Town (74-80) leads Otonokizaka by 4 games Vlora (70-83) leads Otonokizaka by half a game Iron Maiden (65-88) are relegated barring a complete meltdown by either Vlora or Otonokizaka while they have to pretty much win out. Full results tomorrow unless revmcgator wakes up before me and gets to them first. (His will probably be far more accurate anyway :p) |
Whalers Cruise to Easy Win in OL S323
4 Attachment(s)
Hartford needed to go 4-3 in the September and did just that, sailing nearly undisturbed on calm seas to capture the crown. The chasers spent their month sinking each other's hopes, with only the Brooklyn Untouchables, at 5-3, gaining ground at all. Shangri-La, 5-4, was the only other team above the surface for the month.
Playoff and relegation pictures are attached. |
