Bill Cunningham

Baseball-Reference doesn't list a first name for second baseman "Cunningham" with the 1913 Binghamton Bingoes, but an article from the Sep. 14 1913 edition of the Elmira Morning Telegram lists the names of the players on the club, giving Cunningham's name as Bill. This is probably the same as the Major League Bill Cunningham, who also played second base during this era.

Swat McCabe

Same with the above post, Baseball-Reference only lists a "McCabe" with the 1913 Binghamton Bingoes, the Sep. 14 1913 edition of the Elmira Morning Telegram lists McCabe's name as Arthur. Swat McCabe was a Major Leaguer in 1909 and 1910 whose real name was James Arthur McCabe, so it's probably the same guy.

Bill Boyce - 1963 Auburn Mets

Lots of things to not like about being a professional baseball catcher. But one good thing is that you'll likely get to hang in the major league camp in spring training. There's always a ton of pitchers teams look at and, where there are pitchers, there's going to be a need for catchers. And, since you'll be hanging in the major league camp, a good photographer is likely going to take your picture.

Bill Boyce was a catcher with the Auburn Mets in 1963. But this photo of Bill in a major league uniform probably dates to 1964 (Mets added numbers to the front of the uni in '65 and, in the spring of '65, they were still wearing the World's Fair patch).

Bill had a nice year with Auburn (.276 with 11 home runs and 74 RBIs). Good enough that, at the start of the '64 season when he'd been promoted to Salinas, Bill was considered the top prospect in the California League. Well, that star faded fairly quickly. Bill never got higher than AA and was out of baseball after the 1968 season at the age of 25.

This image is a current eBay offering of seller baseball125years.

1963 Auburn Mets

The reason I placed Mr. Boyce with the '63 Auburn Mets is that I have these other images (prior ebay listings of the good dr.jteeee) and I don't think they've been posted here before. So I figured I would.

While the 1963 New York Mets were floundering at the major league level (on their way to losing 111), the 1963 Auburn Mets were winning in the NY-P league, finishing at 76 - 54, 3 games ahead of their nearest rival. They were the toast of the city that year. Really, Auburn loved this team. At least they did in 1963.

There were three future major leaguers on the '63 Auburn Mets: pitcher Ron Locke, catcher John Stephenson, and some guy named Cleon Jones. Indeed, Cleon made his major league debut at the end of '63.

A couple of others who achieved a small piece of recognition: pitchers Bill Robinson and Paul Alspach, both of whom had major league invites at one time or another.

Presented below are Auburn's manager (and former major leaguer) Dick Cole, first baseman Paul Serra, 3B-OF Bob Sturges, and 2B-3B Don Trolliet. Don passed away last year and I colorized his image for a tribute card so, even though that one was previously posted at Baseball-Birthdays, I'll include the colorization here, as well. You'll notice the caps are generic--with no letter or logo--just plain blue caps is all.

does anyone have a photo of Jerry Lewis from 1970 Coco Astros or a team photo of 1970 Coco Astros?
