It was probably because of an early morning, my advancing years, the fact that I'm English - or all of the above - but in your early posts about the Nuka World League, I could have sworn the Victory Cave team were to be called the Cricketers and I thought that would be a good team for me to follow. But...... :crying:

Nuka News Update

All the news you need about Bradberton and Nuka World

by Evan Guy

16 January 2299 - NWL Organizational Structure Explanation

While we will break down teams in time, we want to report on the organizational structure of the Nuka World League. NWL creator John-Caleb Bradberton has consulted with Commonwealth Baseball Organization commissioner and creator Nate Howard on how his baseball league was created.

Bradberton has agreed to a similar structure and a player's agreement that owned players in one league cannot switch teams except for trades. If that player is considered a free agent, then he is free to sign with either league that is willing to offer him a contract.

Bradberton is the owner of all teams, but different people of the Bradberton town area and Nuka World parks have been designated as Team Presidents for each of the eight teams of the NWL. Bradberton is thus owner/commissioner. However, his wife, Sierra Petrovita-Bradberton, is the Operating Manager and Marketing Manager for the league. She will generally be the go-to for final decisions and cabinet meetings.

Each of the teams are operated individually by the Team President who makes economic and league rules decisions. Under the TP is the General Manager, who is in charge of personnel and player decisions. Working with the GM is the Team Scout who is in charge of finding talent for the team. Unlike the CBO structure, the NWL office does not have a centralized scouting system but relies on the CBO to scout all players. Each team's Scout is in charge of collecting those reports and making his own. The coaching personnel is made up of the Team Manager, the Bench Coach, a Hitting Coach, and a Pitching Coach. Finally, each team has a Trainer position occupied by a doctor or chemist.

Team presidents continued in the next story with the following pictures attached here:

Peter Park - Dark Bloodworms
Oswald the Outrageous - Grape Painted Ghouls
Fritsch Nukacade - Orange Tourists

Nuka News Update

All the news you need about Bradberton and Nuka World

by Evan Guy

16 January 2299 - NWL Team Presidents

Cherry Ghoulrillas
Stadium: Grandchester Mystery Mansion Park
Team President: Kali Dunmore - Daughter of Dunmore Homestead owners Brett and Monique Dunmore, Kali took over the Grandchester Mystery Mansion although she only stays in the office outside the mansion due to "the creeps" of the mansion itself. Kali has proven a capable manager and an excellent diplomat in Nuka World business negotiations.

Dark Bloodworms
Stadium: Ol' Sugartop Ballpark at Dry Rock Gulch
Team President: Peter Park
Peter's sister-in-law, Cora Monroe, was a traveling merchant who took over as the manager of Dry Rock Gulch after Operation Open Season, a plan by Nate Howard and John-Caleb Bradberton to cut out the raider occupation of Nuka-Town USA. Recently, Peter has made several trips to Diamond City where he fell in love with the local team, the Diamond City Swatters.

Grape Painted Ghouls
Stadium: King Cola's Park at Kiddie Kingdom
Team President: Oswald the Outrageous
One of the cast members of Kiddie Kingdom before the Great War ended it all, Oswald and his colleagues all began to ghoulify due to radiation exposure. Oswald became a rare conscious glowing ghoul. The former magician has been in the care of Kiddie Kingdom since the bombs fell, and Bradeberton was happy to name him full manager of Kiddie Kingdom and his troop of contained and entertaining painted ghouls.

Orange Tourists
Stadium: Fizztop Mountain Park at Nuka-Town USA
Team President: Fritsch Nukacade
Fritsch was a trader enslaved by the raiders occupying Nuka-Town USA. He was adept at repairing various machinery, including his main love, the Nuka arcade, called Nuka-Cade. Fritsch now manages Nuka-Cade and all gaming systems around all of Nuka World. He derived his family name based on his love of the Nuka-Cade.

Quantum Nukalurks
Stadium: World of Refreshment Field
Team President: Lizzie Wyath
One of the few former raider converts, Lizzie has been a valuable commodity for Bradeberton in getting the Nuka-Cola Bottling Plant up and running. The chemist has ideas on some apocalypse-era Nuka drinks, but she has managed the plant and got The World of Refreshment part of Nuka World back to its original glamor.

Quartz Star Force
Stadium: Star Core Stadium at the Galactic Zone
Team President: Phil Roller
Following Operation Open Season, Phil and the Hubologists, led by Dara Hubbell, took over the Galactic Zone since they felt a "pull from above." While the Hubologists located in Nuka World were once a religious sect that believed they were meant to return to their alien overlords, Nate Howard helped convince them that their true calling was to give people the fantasy of outer space rather than actually going there. Seeing that they believed in an amusement park ride rather than a real space ship, they got over their grief by bringing Galactic Zone guests "to the stars." Phil readjusted his religious "alignments" beliefs to help guests "align" their star quests and has shown the propensity to be good upper management material.

Victory Cave Crickets
Stadium: John-Caleb Bradberton Honorary Field
Team President: Katelyn "Kat" Alden
A caravan trader that once worked as an informant to the raiders (probably to keep herself from being enslaved), Katelyn moved permanently to Bradberton town after Operation Open Season where she opened Kat's Keepsakes store, a general store for food and supplies for Bradeberton residents. While there is no official mayor of Bradberton, Katelyn also acts as the operating mayor for any problems or business that crops up in Bradberton.

Wild Gatorclaws
Stadium: Angry Anaconda Field at Safari Adventure
Team President: Jane Porter
The young wife of Safari Adventure's iconic Cito, Jane Porter was the daughter of a trader enslaved by the raiders of Nuka-Town USA. Jane and her mother escaped the raid, and lived secretly in Littlewood, just southeast of Nuka-Town USA. After Operation Open Season, Jane and her mother returned to Nuka-Town USA to discover that her father was long dead. Jane later became interested in repopulating the Safari Adventure park with a living zoo. That is where she met and romanced Cito and they were married in the Safari Adventure Primate House.

Pictured below:

Gah, are there more giant bugs at Nuka World? Maybe I'm lucky I haven't been there yet. I mean, I'll get around to it... but I really, really hate giant bugs (and normal sized bugs too.

Cave crickets, ants, flying ant swarms, and, the worst, bloodworms.

TBH the ants, if they're anything like the ants in 3 and NV, don't bother me for some reason, but in general I absolutely hate any and all of the other mutated insects in these games as being the absolute grossest things I have ever seen. So if the Bloodbugs ever get to the Sole Survivor Series, it's nothing personal, but I hope they lose :p:laugh:

Based on their current state of affairs, they're probably dwelling close to the bottom of the Brotherhood League for years to come.

20 January 2298 - Surprise Trade as Rogers Heads to Oberland

The players apparently knew they were on the trading block, so it did not surprise one of them when he learned that he had been traded to Finch Farm.

"Got my bags packed already," Ginger Rogers said, when reached for comment.

The Four Leafs will receive 20-year-old RHP Justin Sumbich, 2298 Rookie Draft 2nd-round pick RHP William Butcherman, 2298 Rookie Draft 1st-round pick 3B David Yellowsky, 22-year-old minor league LF Josh Akins and a 2nd round draft pick, while 27-year-old CF Ginger Rogers and a 4th round draft pick will go to the Oberland T-51s.

In 108 games in 2298, Rogers batted .233 with 100 hits with 18 doubles, 3 triples, and 32 home runs, tying him atop the North Charles Association. He also collected 74 RBIs and scored 91 runs.

Sumbich pitched in 19 games in relief for the T-51s, gaining a record of 1-0 with a 6.07 ERA in 29.2 innings. It was by far his worst season in his three years in Oberland.

Butcherman will start as a relief pitcher but could become a starter in time. He has a three-pitch repertoire with a lively knuckle curve and sharp cutter. He has good stuff but needs to work on the placement of his pitches. His biggest hangup is that he tends to tire more quickly than some of the top pitching prospects.

Yellowsky was considered a good pick for talent but may be a bit of a knucklehead and will require good hands-on coaching to ever reach his talent potential. He already has good power and could develop into one of the best power hitters in the CBO if he works on his contact and waiting on the right pitch to drive. He is pull or nothing on his hitting, so teams can shift their infield and outfield over to the left side when he is batting. In youth league ball, he hit all of his home runs over the left and left-center fences. He needs to work on his glove, but when he fields the ball, he has a cannon for an arm. Runners will not get infield hits on him.

23 January 2299 - Oberland Making Moves

The Oberland T-51s seem to be working overtime to overcome their 2298 failure in repeating their 2297 success. Today the T-51s made another move as a follow-up to Friday's trade. With the acquisition of Ginger Rogers, Oberland sought to improve their catcher position with another move.

The Oberland T-51s announced a deal with the Adamantium today, sending 21-year-old RF Bloatfly Williams, 28-year-old C Dan Neofotistos, 2298 Rookie Draft 4th-round pick 2B Karate Ripfart, 2298 Rookie Draft 3rd-round pick LF Eric Doll and a 1st round draft pick to Abernathy for 2298 Rookie Draft 1st-round pick C Racky Westheim, 22-year-old C Tenthree Leader, 33-year-old RHP Preacher President and a 2nd round draft pick. It had been talked about for the past few weeks and everything came together late last night. All players are expected to be joining their respective clubs shortly.

In 2298, Williams hit .337 with 152 hits, 1 home run, 43 RBIs and scored 67 runs. The T-51s seem to be trading power for average in moving Williams. Rogers, who played CF for Finch Farm, is expected to move to RF for the T-51s.

Neofotistos has moved around a lot, now with his fourth team, as a decent but average catcher. In 2298 he played with both Lexington and Oberland. In those 73 games with 71 starts, Neofotistos batted .215 with 11 home runs and 37 RBI.

Leader, who was traded to the Adamantium during the 2298 season, was originally a 1st-round catcher selection by Quincy in the 2296 Rookie Draft. He appeared in 13 games with Abernathy, starting 11. In those games, he batted .211 with two RBI. He batted .313 in his career in the BMU with eight home runs and 61 RBI.

President appeared in 13 games in 2298 with the Adamantium, starting one. He was 1-0 with a 3.42 ERA in 23.2 innings pitched. May have limited time left in the CBO.

Westheim is rated to have good bat potential at catcher. He is good at going to all fields and can further improve his contact and develop passable power in time. Westheim is considered a student of the game who could find himself working his way into a CBO role sooner than later. On defense, his arm is not strong compared to other players, but he should be a good field general and prevent more passed balls and wild throws than the average catcher.

Doll has the potential to be a home run-hitting outfielder in the CBO, but he needs to work on other aspects of batting before he is ready to use his big frame and strength. Struggles against right-handed pitchers, which is strange since he bats from the left side. His defense leaves a lot to be desired, so he may need to move to 1B eventually or only project as a pinch hitter. Speaks up sometimes when he should shut up.

Ripfart has the potential to work his way up to the CBO. He has good potential to hit for average and power. He is considered to have a good eye at the plate and able to put himself in good defensive positions, which helps him to turn a lot of 4-6-3 double plays.

23 January 2299 - Jamaica Plain Honors Owner's Father

The Jamaica Plain Red Rockets spent a day of mourning and honoring the father of owner Kasumi Nakano, Mr. Kenji Nakano. Kenji Nakano died after a short illness at his home on the Atlantic Coast near Portland, Maine.

According to terminal reports, "Kenji [was] the husband of Rei Nakano . . . and a small-time fisherman from the northeastern coast of the Commonwealth. He previously lived with his father, Taichi Nakano, as well. Kenji [was] also an experienced sailor, having taken his boat across the East Coast, including north "to where the waters start to freeze." Although they are a relatively independent family, Kenji occasionally [took] trips to Diamond City for supplies. Years prior to 2287, he helped Nick Valentine out on an investigation, as the detective needed access to a boat while searching for a lost heirloom. However, once the client had what he was looking for, he double-crossed Nick and Kenji, shooting the latter in the hip. The two managed to escape, though Kenji still [had] the lead from the bullet lodged inside of him. The events took place before Ellie Perkins began working for Nick, meaning that the records on the case are somewhat sparse.

"Extremely protective of his daughter, Kenji [was] stern but still loving. After Taichi died at the hands of raiders, Kenji became even more concerned with Kasumi's safety. Because of this, when Kasumi [left] for Acadia without a trace, his anxieties [were] worsened, believing that she was taken by kidnappers. However, Rei [disagreed] and [wanted] him to calm down, believing that [Kasumi] may have just left home, as she [was] nineteen years old, old enough to handle herself."

24 January 2299 - Ghoulrillas 1B Injured by Brahmiluff

Cherry Ghoulrillas 1B Jason Smith, selected in the 34th round of the 2299 Inaugural Draft, has not been in the Bradberton area very long. He may need guidance about the danger of some of the local creatures.

Seeing a brahmiluff for the first time, Smith thought that he would try to ride the beast. Instead he took the curved horns of the beast straight to the chest. Thanks to people distracting the brahmiluff from attacking further, Smith was able to escape further injury.

He was sent to the Nuka-Town Clinic to seek treatment for bruising and check for any broken bones in his ribs. No one or no other animal was injured in the incident.

28 January 2299 - Catman Cat Scratched

With a tinge of irony, the cat man, Salem first baseman Dan Catman, has been diagnosed with "Cat Scratch Fever," also known as felinosis.

Catman complained to Witch Hats team trainer Alex Mencos somewhere around January 13 of an illness after being attacked by one of his 32 cats. The cat, identified appropriately now as Spawn, was found to be teeming with the bacteria Bartonella henselae in tests by a Curie, Inc., scientist.

Catman was transported to Vault 81 where he is receiving antibiotic treatments for the disease. There is no timetable for his return, but Mencos estimates it will take at least a month for Catman to heal.

1 February 2299 - Finch Farm Four Leafs Ship Daylight to Goodneighbor

According to BNN there were mixed emotions by the players involved in the trade between the Finch Farm Four Leafs and the Goodneighbor Hancocks. As part of the deal, the Four Leafs swapped 31-year-old C Dustin Daylight to the Hancocks getting 28-year-old 1B Nick Short in return. The players indicated it was good to get a fresh new start in another city, but it was difficult to leave your friends on the old team.

Daylight played in 31 games for the Four Leafs in 2298, starting 25. He was 16 for 83 (.193) on the season with no home runs and four RBI.

Short has been a reserve infielder for the Hancocks in his three years there. In 2298, he played in 36 games, batting 2 for 29 (.069).

1 February 2299 - Vault 81 Trades Godcomplex, Harmon for Oberland's McCort

It's being reported in the Vault 81 press that the Dwellers have traded 29-year-old RHP Alex Godcomplex and 19-year-old 2B Phil Harmon to the Oberland T-51s for 19-year-old minor league LHP Vince McCort. However, there is no confirmation by the two ball clubs.

Godcomplex pitched 22 games in relief in 2298 for the Dwellers, compiling a record of 1-3 with three saves and a 5.52 ERA.

Harmon spent most of the season with the Mass Pike (now Vault 95) Robobrains. With Mass Pike, he batted .302 with seven home runs and 39 RBI. In five games as a pinch hitter for Vault 81, he was 1 for 5 (.200).

McCort is an interesting prospect. He has yet to play in the CBO since he was arrested in March of 2296 for the murder of a fellow townsperson at Oberland Station. Since April of 2296, he has been incarcerated at Parsons State Insane Asylum but he will be released April 27.

By the time McCort is released, he will only be 20 years old. Assuming his skills have not deteriorated since he was first signed by the T-51s organization as an undrafted free agent, he could find himself playing at the CBO level. He has a four-pitch repertoire with equal effectiveness among his fastball, curveball, slider, and changeup. He needs to work on his movement, but he has good control to place his pitches and he can blow his fastball past batters. McCort was not drafted because he did not enter his name into the Inaugural Draft pool on time in 2295.

McCort does have an aggressive personality which was shown with the incident in Oberland Station, but the Dwellers organization is hoping his time at Parsons has humbled him.

3 February 2299 - Abernathy Trades McMurtry for Warwick's Pollack

The rumor has been out there for a while now and today it was made official. The Abernathy Adamantium have sent 26-year-old C Canbed McMurtry and 21-year-old 2B Shotgun McElveen to the Warwick Mirelurks for 32-year-old RHP Pem Pollack.

McMurtry played in 95 games, starting 93, at catcher for the Adamantium in 2299. He batted .205 with two home runs and 28 RBI. McElveen played most of the season for Bunker Hill of the BMU, but did spend eight games with the Adamantium. In those games, he was 2 for 11 (.182) with an RBI.

The Mirelurks' closer, Pollack had a record of 8-2 with a 1.60 ERA. He has appeared in 44 games, threw 50.2 innings, and struck out 64 while saving 25 games.

3 February 2299 - Abernathy's Catcher Wants Short Name

Abernathy's newly-acquired catcher Dan Neofotistos has decided to drop the fotistos from his name and just be Neo. "Neo" is often a shortened term for "neophyte," and our research indicated that "Neofotistos" meant the same thing. Whether Neo, Neophyte, or Neofotistos, "Dan" can call himself whatever he wants.

New will be playing for his fourth different team in four years. Originally signed as a special tryout free agent by the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys in April 2296, Neo was traded to the Lexington Synths in July of 2297 with SP Evan Before for RF Chris Faith and SP Derek Gist.

In July 2298, he was traded from the Synths to the Oberland T-51s for RP Chris Ciccone and LF Whiskey Nightcap.

Finally, he was traded January 23 from the T-51s to the Adamantium along with RF Bloatfly Williams, 2B Karate Ripfart, LF Eric Doll, and a 1st-round pick for C Racky Westheim, C Tenthree Leader, RP Preacher President, and a 2nd-round draft pick.

In three seasons in the CBO, Neo has batted .212 with 20 career home runs and 71 RBI. He is ranked as the 12th-best catcher in the CBO.

8 February 2299 - FHE's Rathmann Hoping Hard Work Paid Off

FHE right fielder has watched a lot of baseball in his time in the CBO. Originally taken by Goodneighbor in the 17th round of the 2296 Inaugural draft, the left-handed right fielder has not seen a lot of action in games. Traded to the Yao Guai in June of 2298, Rathmann saw his first three starts in his career. Now he wants to convert that into 108 starts.

"I'm tired of watching," Rathmann said. "I practice, I lift weights. I practice, I lift weights. And then on game days, I take a break because I hardly play."

His playtime changed somewhat since joining FHE. He had only appeared as a pinch hitter in seven games for the Hancocks before being traded. With the Yao Guai, he played in a total of 34. He did not take advantage of those situations, though.

"I felt I was ready, but I was too tense. I have been spending this off season working on some ancient practice called 'yoga.' It helps me to focus on nothing, to get rid of all doubt and wrath in my mind. I think it will make a huge difference on the baseball field."

In his career in the CBO and BMU, Rathmann has batted .233 with two home runs and 11 RBI. Despite the low numbers, Rathmann believes he can be a star.

"I'll show the league in 2299. Just watch. I'll be starting on opening day, and I'll hit a bunch of homers to help my team win. I know Goodneighbor gave up on me, but FHE won't."

Entering the FHE lineup and doing what he says would help the Yao Guai, which rated among the worst in the CBO for its outfield. CF Noah Arch is considered to be their best outfielder, but he is only rated as 16th at his position. Both LF Adam Crook and RF Mike Eggs are rated as the 24th-best, dead last in the CBO.

12 February 2299 - Easy Town to Honor 2298 Team at Battle for the North Tourney

Easy Town Assaultrons GM Ryan Herner stated that the team wished they were celebrating a championship, but they will still honor their 2298 runner-up status in the Sole Survivor Series.

The Assaultrons were swept by the Goodneighbor Hancocks in the Series, but time has healed those wounds.

"We're going to have an honorary ceremony before our first game in the tournament," Herner said. "That way the fans can appreciate that we did achieve a lot as the North Charles Association title."

The participants in the Battles for the North and the South will be announced on Monday, but the two teams in the Sole Survivor Series host the tournaments. That means the Battle for the North will be at Easy Town's Easy Town Field and the Battle for the South will be at Goodneighbor's Third Rail Stadium at S. Boston HS.

13 February 2299 - Grognaks CF Cited for B&E

Malden Grognaks center fielder Jim White was arrested last night for trying to break into a bar after it was closed. Stating that he just needed one more drink, White was seen trying to break into Malden Malt House.

When a Minutemen patrol arrived, White kept repeating that he needed a drink. According to the arresting patrolman, White was covered in his own urine and vomit.

Reached for comment, County Crossing GM Dan Dall said that the team was looking into the incident and would discipline White as needed.

Originally taken in the 3rd round of the 2296 Rookie Draft, White was traded to the Bloodbugs for CF Walton Johnson in October of 2297. In 42 games in 2298 with the Grognaks with 35 starts, White batted .216 with a home run and 13 RBI.

14 February 2299 – CBO Announces Two Preseason Tournaments

The preseason tournaments, the Battle for the North and the Battle for the South, are back for 2299. This season, there will be two tournaments with the announced stadiums being CBO champions' Goodneighbor Hancocks hosting at Third Rail Stadium at S. Boston HS and CBO runners-up the Easy Town Assaultrons hosting at Easy Town Field.

The double-elimination tournaments will run from March 11 until March 19 with a maximum of three games played per day. All teams were slotted by seed in the bracket, and home teams are determined by higher seed in the winner's bracket. Games will start in four-hour increments to allow enough time between games. On days with three games, scheduled start times are 12:05, 4:05, and 8:05. On days with two games or an optional second game, the 12:05 start time is eliminated.

The following are the daily schedules of games, followed by the brackets:

Day 1, Saturday, March 11 – Games 1-3
Day 2, Sunday, March 12 – Games 4-6
Day 3, Monday, March 13 – Games 7-9*
Day 4, Tuesday, March 14 – Games 10-12*
Day 5, Wednesday, March 15 – Games 13-14
Day 6, Thursday, March 16 – Games 15-16*
Day 7, Friday, March 17 – Games 17-19*
Day 8, Saturday, March 18 – Games 20-21*
Day 9, Sunday, March 19 – Game 22 and if necessary, Game 23

* Indicates there are games that will eliminate teams from the tournament.

16 February 2299 - Egret Ninjas Ship Lub to FHE

The Ninjas and Yao Guai pulled the trigger on a deal that will see 29-year-old RHP W. H. Lub head to FHE in exchange for 19-year-old minor league CF Cornelius Humperdink IV. A source close to Egret officials said, "The teams spent long hours coming to the agreement and in the end, both agreed the deal should help both clubs."

In 2298, Lub had 1 save with a 0-4 record and a 5.05 ERA. He appeared in 38 games for the Ninjas with three starts. Lub was originally drafted in the 9th round of the 2296 Inaugural Draft.

Humperdink was the 1st round pick of the Yao Guai in the 2298 Rookie Draft. Humperdink's greatest asset is his speed. He needs to work on his bat, but he can be good at drawing walks, stealing bases, and advancing extra bases on hits. He is known to have a good work ethic and could be a decent CBO player in the future.

24 February 2299 - Free Agent Dimas Attacked by Bloodbug

Free agent LF Phil Dimas has been hanging out around Bradberton hoping to get a shot to join a Nuka World League. Free agents are free to sign with a CBO or NWL team.

While traveling to Dunmore Homestead, he was near a swamp when a flock of bloodbugs were riled and attacked. Dimas was injured in the incident but was able to escape before having his blood slurped from his body.

The 26-year-old entered the pool for the NWL's Inaugural Draft, as well as entered his name into the CBO free agent pool. Despite tryouts for both, neither team had offered him a contract.

26 February 2299 - Injured List Takes Effect

The CBO has instituted its official 7-day injured list for any players unable to start the season or injured during the season.

Three teams used the 7-day list on today, the first day of the preseason.

Atom placed 3B Shane Stabb on the list with the injury listed as "personal leave."

Quincy placed 1B Bill Black on the list due to "military leave."

Salem placed 1B Dan Catman on the list due to "illness."

26 February 2299 - Measure to Expand Playoffs Fails

In a tight vote, the CBO owners voted 14-10 against expanding the playoffs by two teams per association.

Commissioner Nate Howard had proposed expanding the playoffs to allow six teams per association, exactly half of the league.

Goodneighbor Hancocks owner John Hancock was one of the owners against the proposal. He was one of the few who revealed his vote.

"I voted against it," Hancock said. "If anything, we need to have less, not more. The playoffs should be for the best, not every team that wins half their games."

Howard stated that he would table the proposal for now. He said that the extra caps generated would help each team financially, but it was not enough to sway most teams.

1 March 2299 - CBO Goes Perfect 8-0 in Exhibition Games vs NWL

The talent difference between the CBO and NWL is expected to be quite distant like the location of the two leagues. That talent difference was evident in the first day of the CBO vs NWL exhibition series as the eight lowest teams in the CBO in 2298 went a perfect 8-0 in their games versus the NWL.

Among the games, there were three shutouts: Finch Farm 5, Victory 0; Jamaica Plain 7, Quantum 0; and Atom 8, Quartz 0. The Cats' Jake Williams had the best day, throwing a complete-game, two-hit shutout. Jamaica Plain's Chris Teddybear threw a three-hit shutout, and the Four Leafs' Matt Pageturner threw a four-hit shutout.

The highest-scoring NWL team was the Wild Gatorclaws, but they also gave up the most runs, losing to the Roxbury Knuckle Punchers 12-3. The Gatorclaws' Steve Landrum had the biggest hit for his team, a two-run home run off the Punchers' Beachboy Nut. Young Goodman led Roxbury in hitting, going 4 for 5 with a double, a triple, three runs, and four RBI. Goodman was the only non-pitcher named game MVP.
