By Speece 1924
Here are alternate images of Speece. 1926 with Cleveland and 1924 with Washington.
In terms of the Roy Spencer images here are the dates of the images requested which may assist in the process. The very nice Washington image is from 1932. The significantly clearer Cleveland image is from 1933 and the Brooklyn image from 1937. 1937 is a highly significant year in Dodger history as it was the year the Brooklyn team played in Dodger green. I attach an actual color image I posted back in 2007 of Woody English from 1937. I think it would be fun,if you welcome the challenge, to colorize some other Brooklyn images from 1937 sporting their Kelly Green. Some more info can be found if you follow this link http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/news...a1sosmmeju3p11 |
Woody English 1927
Much better example of the former Cubs standout from 1937. Along with an example of the 1937 cap. The shortstop's 200 hit days were now gone and he usually batted 8th in the lineup.

Van Mungo 1931
Top Brooklyn player as measured by WAR IN 1937. 2nd highest rated player Luke Hamlin was rated at 3.0 compared to Mungo's 4.6. Here is Mungo from 1937 pictured in his Dodger green.
|
Waite Hoyt 1918
The Hall of Famer completed his 20th season as part of the Dodgers 5 man rotation after starting the year with Pittsburgh. He was still effective enough to rank 6th on the team in WAR.
|
Freddie Fitzsimmons 1925
In 1937 started his 13th consecutive season with New York but finished the year as the Dodgers 6th starter.
|
Tony Malinosky 1937
1937 was his only year in the Majors and was a back-up infielder just with Brooklyn.
|
Eddie Morgan 1936
Not to be confused with the similarly named outstanding Cleveland first-baseman. After spending his first season with the Cardinals spent his final season in 1937 with the Dodgers.
|
George Cisar
His only Major League stint was as a little used outfielder with Brooklyn in 1937.
|
Johnny Hudson 1936
Up for a cup of coffee in 1936 he played only 1 of his 13 games at Second Base for the Dodgers in 1937, yet in 1938 was their starter at that position.
|
Jake Daniel 1937
His only Major League appearances were spent with the 1937 Dodgers.
|
Bert Haas 1937
1937 was the rookie season for the future Cincinnati regular starter.
|
Nick Polly
1937 was the Third-Baseman's only season until he re-appeared 8 years later with the Red Sox.

I had no idea that you dictated the standards that operate on this site, please forgive me. I am mortified that I have upset the apple cart by intruding on the monopoly that you believe you have the right to exercise over this thread. I was totally unaware that you owned the copyright rights and that the images posted were in your ownership. I hope you accept that I made an honest mistake. If you wish to report me then please go ahead , I am sure that I will be dealt with by the same standards in respect of freedom of speech that you emphasize are in force in the USA and that are in operation in respect of all other contributors, yourself included. My eyesight or my computer or both must be misfunctioning I am sure the example of the Mungo image that you state is a duplicate of yours is in blue not green. |
George Jeffcoat 1936
1937 was the second of 3 years he appeared with the Dodgers. Then re-appeared 4 years later in the National League with Boston.
|
Jim Lindsey 1922
3 years after his last Major League experience in 1934 with the Cardinals, 1937 was Lindsey's swansong Major appearance.
|
Buck Marrow 1937
5 years after his Major League debut with Detroit Marrow re-emerged with Brooklyn in 1937 for the first of a 2 year career with the Dodgers.
|
Jim Peterson 1937
4 years after his second stint in the Majors with the Athletics Peterson pitched for Brooklyn in his final Major League appearances.
