Trying out PT
Hey folks, I'm coming back to OOTP after a long time away. Haven't played much PT at all, but the idea of this league has really piqued my interest. I'd love to join the league for the end of 21 to get some experience with PT in general before 22 starts up. Is there still an active contingent of managers (especially at the lower levels) that would make joining up this late feasible?
My team, the Jackson Wood Ducks, are currently in entry league. I'm also in the process of converting my roster to meet OL requirements. |

the bulk of our group has settled into the Silver-Gold tiers.... there are a handful in Iron and Bronze for the lower tiers, so at the quickest you'll get put into Rookie league after entry.... would need to gain promotion from Rookie to Stone, then Stone to Iron to get to the first group.... definitely possible since v22 shouldn't come out until around opening day (usually). |

Glad to have you. I would ask that you also post your team's logo in the forum for crowning purposes. Take a look back in this thread to see what I mean. See you in a few weeks. If I were you, I wouldn't sacrifice quality in my lineup by jettisoning all my live and future legends until just before you get ready to catch onto an OL league. Squeeze out all the points you can until then. ;) |
Rustlers Sit Tight as Magic Number Dwindles to One in OL S334

Terra Incognita, mainly overlooked in the OL schedule by the PT gods, seems poised to turn its limited duty into a silver crown. With only three OL games left, they need win just one contest to close out Ciudad Trujillo and Hooterville. Even a winless September would require the Dragones to go, 21-4, or Hooterville, 14-0, respectively.

Gold league:
Weston Pointe takes their OL lead down the stretch (6 OL games left). Laramie (6 OL games left) and Waffletown (7 OL games left) are done beating each other up and will face other OL competition. If all three teams stumble enough in the final month, it could allow El Dorado to grab the crown as they will be standing pat. |

Vlora snuck into the playoffs. Ring Road and Cat Town going down.
[Side note: once again, in same league as 3rd Street Saints. This team has been reported repeatedly, yet here they are, still doing the same stuff.] |

Gold league:
Weston Pointe takes care of business down the stretch to hold onto the OL crown. Overall, 6 OL teams in the post season. OL sweeps the division crowns in the AC, with Kansas snagging the top seed; Laramie and Shinbone will face off in the LDS. Waffletown snuck in with the 2nd wild card spot and have the unenviable job of facing the second best team in the AC in the wild card match to see who gets to head to Kansas for the LDS. In the NC, El Dorado grabbed the NC West crown; and while Weston Pointe had the second best record in the NC (107-55), they had the bad luck to be in the same division as the top team in the league; so they will host the wild card game. relegations to Silver: Hartford Whalers |

Since all five of the OL teams are in the same league (AC), there will definitely be a crowned winner this week with every team getting well beyond the minimum number of games. Here is the setup:

OOTP22---Steam or PC Version?
Hey Guys,
As you have already seen, OOTP22 release date is set for 3/26. I have been playing OOTP for many years, ever since OOTP9 and always the PC version. As of late, I have heard that some customers feel that the Steam version is better and I am not sure why. Are Steam OOTP players having better pack luck, enjoying more 3rd party add-ons, experiencing a easier to use interface, etc. ? I am curious as to what our OL members use, and why. Thanks in Advance! |

always buy direct from OOTPD here, mostly out of habit since pretty sure steam didn't exist/wasn't an option when I first started downloading the game (heck, think I had to order an actual disc the first version I bought... that's old! :p)

decided to sign up for the Monthly Rebirth tourney (players 1921-1945; 1750 cap) and snagged the last spot... had to wait for the prep to finish before I could try and piece together my team but had plenty of time since it's a 128 team field (about 41 minutes to tinker with a roster)...
apparently my opponent in the first round either forgot to set a roster, ran out of time, or forgot to withdraw their entry cause it's a 26 man clone team of Unknowns.... Satchel Paige hurls a perfect game with 20 strikeouts to open the series for Waffletown (yeah, it's against all Unknowns, but hey, it's still a perfect game with 20 Ks :D)... just wish I got the points this would have generated in a regular PT game :p side note: hurl a perfect game.... still not named player of the game  edit: game 2 - Bobo Newsom tosses a no-hitter (1 walk / 19 strikeouts) |

Haymakers Holding On in OL S305
4 Attachment(s)
Hooterville is hanging in there in the crown chase with five OL games left to play, all against South Side, whom they have dominated. The crowd of contenders all have a sufficient amount of league games remaining to make a run with a hot streak should the Haymakers stumble.

Daytona Beach on Top in Iron
3 Attachment(s)
Daytona Beach remains in front in OL I292. With one 4-game series against Chicago remaining - whom the Tortugas have beaten in 12 of 15 games so far this season - Daytona Beach is control of the title chase. Ring Road only has one remaining 3-game series versus Iron Maiden.
