Not sure if already mentioned but Reds signed Alfredo Simon to a ML deal.

On 17.2 beta:

* Technically not a roster issue, but Curacao still sorts at the end alphabetically. I'll follow up on this later, once I have more information.
* Kendry Herrera (free agent C) should be 5'11", not 6'11".
* Barbaro Rodriguez still has no height/weight.
* Javier Leyva (Isla de la Juventud P), Sam Maus (St Paul 2B), and Min-Soo Kim (Gyeongsan C) should all be 5'10", not 4'11". My guess is that this also applies to Ricardo Balin (Tomassin 2B) but I have no sources.
* Speaking of Min-Soo Kim, there are two players by that name so some double-checking is needed to make sure neither of them had the other's data applied to them.
* There are 1500 fewer players in the database than there were in patch 17.1 - more than can be expected from mass retirements.

Speaking of Curacao, All the players born in Willemstad show Unknown City of Births because the dissolution of the Dutch Antilles back in 2010. They all show born in Dutch Antilles but should be moved to Curacao now because that is where Willemstad now is located. If you pull a list of players from Dutch Antilles, these all should be Willemstad, Curacao birth cities.

Searched the forums but didn't find anything; is there a reason why the latest beta has the Gurriel brothers retired?

No idea. Do you have the Cuban league enabled?

My guess is it's to reflect that MLB hasn't officially declared them Free Agents, but it's still kind of strange to do it like that.

Jung Ho Kang should not be a 50 at short and a 30 at third. If anything, those should be switched. He was much better defensively at third than at short last year.

Thank you.

Don't have OOTP open, but Edwin Escobar should be listed with 2 option years used (1 remaining) - I'm fairly sure he's listed as out of options, but this may have been fixed in the patch.

It seems that most players who missed some time in the 2014 season due to injury have issues - I am not sure if 2015 is an issue or not. I made a few posts about it last year in the roster thread in regards to specifics then I noticed the trend. I am not too worried for guys who have reached at least 10 years in service time but for anybody less than that it may be quite a big issue.

Some examples:
Jurickson Profar, Matt Harvey, Jose Fernandez, Adeiny Hechavarria, Troy Tulowitzki, Clayton Kershaw, Aroldis Chapman, Masahiro Tanaka, Henderson Alvarez, Jarrod Parker

Profar, for example, is at 67 days in the roster set but has missed two full seasons in which he did accumulate service time. It should be 2 years and 67 days for him. Others, like Chapman, are off by only 10 days.

From last year - link.

Have you noticed any others that are off?

Cuban league enabled. First beta version had them as free agents, although there was a different issue where they demanded a really small fee to sign (1 million and 400K for both brothers).

Noticed there are 60 Pages of players in the retired section who never player a game, many AS young as 17.

My guess is some waiting for draft players have been sent to retired.
Just go to retired and sort by age and you will see the whack of these guys.

Yes, there are lots of potentially decent draft eligible guys added to the db in the past who never got good enough to make it, or at least never got through our final screening process.

Thing is many of these guys did make it. You're seeing the one who didn't, which are crazy, but also consider the massive amount of 2016 and 17 and 18 and 19 and 20 draft eligible players in the game. There's no other game that has that sort of depth except maybe FM and even then it's debatable.

Except for a few Int'l teams, I handle all the stats in ootp.
Some of these are bbref's formatting problems not mine..I don't get the stats from those pages.
I get all the player stats from the team pages not the player pages.
As for the wrong teams, ootp uses team ids that override defunct teams or at least used to. Nothing I can do about that. I don't like it but it is what it is.

Couple Minors thing i thought looked funny ratins wise

Brock Holt played 16 games at 1B but has no rating

Also Billy Hamilton is ridiculously overrated, in particular in Contact, he hit .226 lst year and other then a brief 2 week hot streak in mlb has never hit for any sort of average at any level.

Habsfan18 03-21-2016 10:06 AM

This was posted by someone as a bug, but in case it's an actual roster/rating issue I figure I'd bring it to your attention.

So giving Estrada too good a changeup would likely throw off his other pitches dramatically. So if he had the best change in game, his other pitch ratings might be 5 or something:D

Thanks for the response. I know it's a tiny issue, so it's not overly important to address, but i don't quite understand.

Wouldn't it make sense to up his stuff rating in order to improve his changeup in the game. I don't quite get how you can accurately rate a pitcher who has a excellent goto pitch they way you are describing. I'm trying to understand but I just can't seem to grasp it.....

All Free Agents are in there twice

Except for a few here or there.

Plus, they are in there with differing dollar amounts.

This is from the Beta Two version.

I was going to make the same comment.

I switched them in my roster set.
