Still, I do like the passion and the excitement on a day where I was able to work from home and catch a ball game at the same time. |

What do we think? Tylor Megill, Drew Smith, Joely Rodriguez, Seth Lugo, and Edwin Diaz combine on the 2nd no hitter in Mets history!

I didn't even realize the bid was on until Gary and Ron pointed it out when the pen came in. (playing the Coonie Coons alongside in the early innings also didn't help :o ...) The last innings were tense. I think I need my second shower of the day now. Drew Smith's got a no-hitter now! :p I love Drew Smith! He looks perpetually confused! ... I just wish we wouldn't try to make his brittle arm fall off with 30+ pitches while sitting down in between. MEEEEEEEETS!! :woohoo: |
Mets drop Cano. Thank you brodie! I think we still owe him $40 million

DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD!!

Everybody who followed my Raccoons for a while knows that I am horrible at GM'ing. But even I could smell that dead fish of a trade from 5,000 miles away...... |

Hypocrites. The Mets are hypocrites. |

What a colonoscopy of a sixth inning. :glare:

Wow, Ottavino brought a few gas cans to work today.
That became a dumpster fire real quick LOL. |
So Collin McHugh pitches for the Barves now, but used to be a Met before being traded to the Rockies for Eric Young jr.
Meanwhile, Eric Young sr. is a coach for the Barves, but hit the first home run in a Rockies home game - against the Mets? Kids, I tell ya. The world's a village. |
So, anything good happen in PHI last night?

I also kinda like this one. |
"Spahn and Sain, and two days of rain", huh?

I just read that Cano's OPS with the Mets was .765.
As not great as that sounds, know this...Pujols, in ten years with the Angels, managed a .758 OPS. |
From the data on baseball-reference, the two cost the same over ten years ($240m), so it's only fair the OPS is mostly the same.
Of course, the Mets also got Cano's old-man defense for most of the time. |

One would think that a decent hitter can be found in every franchise, at the AAA level. Probably more than one, and ALL of them could do better than a .758 OPS. Hell..find the guy in your farm system that knows how to draw a walk, and can get an OBP of .375 or better. Hit him second, and you're Gucci. |
And... that's like 10 days of .500 ball. Not the way to go into 4 games with the yuckbirds.
|
I wanted nothing more than a 2-run walkoff single from Pete.
The baseball gods said no. My eyes are wet. |
