JV tops varsity in OL B2020

Jefferson Valley clinched the OL B202 title by one game over Ring Road in 2032. The Rebels used a 7-0 sweep of Ft. Huachuca to capture the flag.
At the other end of the standings, the Buffalo Soldiers were winless in OL play. As the season winds down, Ft. Huachuca is the only team in a relegation spot. Jefferson Valley, Hooterville, and K-Town are all headed for the playoffs. |

Syrups Spin Sweet Success Story in OL S255
1 Attachment(s)
To quote WSYP announcer Fern Flapjack, "Waffletown Wins! Waffletown Wins! Waffletown Wins!" The LabRats were not up to the rigors of a tough all road schedule in the final month. Port Ruppert was short scheduled.
In PT play, Left Coast can get a measure of revenge as they visit the Syrups for the NC wild card game. Bluffton led the the NC West. They are the lone playoff teams. There will be no relegations. Promotions will be set by playoff success, as only Waffletown finished with a top-6 record. By the way, sorry for the standings with PRM on top, but when I cut and paste them down, it throws off the formulas and messes up the standings. |

What do you do?
Once a guy has bee replaced in your OL line-up, do you sell them off? I haven't been, and quick scan of just one of my teams showed a good 45,000 PP sitting there, just in gold and a diamond. If I just didn't have to look at the names. It's so hard to hit submit when it's Moose Skowron or a Daryl Kile, etc.
Think I'm gonna do it though, and I'm no market researcher, so there may be some theme guys up at buy now set at the average, which seems fair enough to me. Thoughts appreciated. |

In general, if a card would sell for 20k PP or more I will probably sell it when it moves to the Reserve Roster. To me that's a lot of PP to be sitting on (like your 45k PP, that's crazy!!). As for specifics, my two teams handle it differently. Annandale is historically starved for points - playing a defensive game they don't get a ton of points (I am rethinking this strategy). I don't run a tournament team with them so I am saving and scrimping. So if I replace a player that's worth a lot I do it. More likely, I will sell a player when I am close to having enough to replace him if it will put me over the top (for instance, I sold Dale Murphy yesterday because that gave me enough so I can start looking to buy <name redacted> off the AH>). So Annandale almost never has "good" players on the Reserve Roster. Brigadoon has been different - because I have been running a ton of tournaments with them, they get a regular infusion of PP. And so given that I am looking to buy a guy who costs 35k PP, when I see a guy I can sell who's a low gold historical, who might sell for 1500 PP, I usually think "eh, why bother!" Even a guy who might bring in some PP, like the 84 OVR Groat, I hang onto "just because." With Brigadoon I also hang onto historical cards who are not part of a mission because they might be included in a mission someday; if that happens I will sell them fast, because there are those crazy people who just have to complete the collection in the first couple of days. So Brigadoon's Reserve roster is filling up with guys. So there you have it... the answer is... "it depends!" |
Gold OL Crown Belongs to Brigadoon

The Brigadoon Highlanders cruised through a light OL schedule to capture the Gold OL crown. There's Highland Dancing in the streets and Groundskeeper Willie is elated.
Brigadoon and Krikkit both made the playoffs as Wild Card entries. Six teams are promoted so either of them would have to win the WC and then (I believe) win a Division Series to advance. No team is being relegated this year. |

Got to this sooner than I thought. Weston Pointe needed to go 7-5 in their 12 OL games to clinch the crown but fell one game short finishing the day 6-6 allowing the Raccoons to take the Diamond title.
In PT we only have two playoff teams, Weston Pointe beat out Cary by one game to win the NC West. Cary for their effort has earned the 2nd WC spot and will visit Humboldt. The teams met six time during the season with Cary winning four. Weston Pointe will take on Hampshire in the Division Series, the teams split six games during the regular season. On the other side, Hidden Valley and Hamtrack will be relegated. Coney Island made the cut and will stay in diamond next week, hoping my pack opening spree which will take place after make some more coffee brings the club some good news. Final note to all of you who are Dad's have a Happy Fathers Day. Or as Ralph Kiner said on a Met broadcast- On Fathers Day, we again wish you all a Happy Birthday. |

a horrible stumble in the final stretch (0-5 in the last 5 games, including 3 losses against the New York Hellspawn to finish out the year and hand them the division title... curse you Matt!) pushes Waffletown into the wild card match.
got the feeling this is going to be a brief post season for the Syrups as they went 3-4 against Left Coast, and if we actually manage to get past them, we'll get stomped by NY as they took 14 of 19 in that series. at least we got an OL crown out of the mix :D |

For my money, The OL crown is the top prize! The PT stuff is just extra PP. Just my opinion, of course.;) |
